  • 12/22/2025· ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The truck, randomly experiences hesitation, and or lag when pulling out from a dead stop. Twice it has been so bad as to nearly cause an accident. It also causes out of control acceleration as you don't know when if if the truck will actually accelerate or how much.

  • 12/22/2025· VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

There is an inconsistent lag in the response from the accelerator. It proves to be extremely unsafe when it occurs while trying to join traffic or cross traffic. A few times now this lag has nearly caused an accident where my vehicle would have been t-boned if the oncoming vehicle hadn't slowed down quickly.

  • 11/25/2025· STEERING,STRUCTURE,WHEELS

According to Toyota, the 2022-2026 Tundra is compatible with 35x11.5 tires. These tires were installed by the dealer before my purchase. However, during turns, the tires heavily rub against the sway bar. This issue may be specific to the TRD upgrade package, which includes an upgraded, thicker sway bar. After driving for just 500 miles, noticeable rub marks have developed on both sides of the sway bar and visible marks on the inside of the tire. Tire rubbing can lead to faster tire wear and may even cause the tire to break during operation if the damage continues over time. I have reported this to Toyota Customer service and all they say they do is file a report.

  • 09/04/2026· STRUCTURE

The passenger door handle was recently replaced. Inside door handle assembly broke and the passenger was unable to open the door from the inside. Now the driver door handle assembly just broke and I was unable to open the door from the inside. The inability to exit the vehicle from the inside should be a safety recall. Various online forums mention similar issues from other owners. Concern was raised with Toyota but not actions was taken.

  • 09/02/2026· POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Since taking delivery of this brand new 2026 Toyota Tundra Hybrid, I have experienced a persistent shuddering at low speeds, approximately 15 to 25 mph. The shuddering is most pronounced during slow, gradual brake application — the more gently the brake pedal is pressed, the more severe the shudder. It is also present to a lesser degree during acceleration. The issue appears to involve the transition between the regenerative braking system and the conventional friction brakes in the i-FORCE MAX hybrid system. The vehicle was taken to an authorized Toyota dealership for a first repair attempt. Tires were rebalanced and inflated to 40 PSI, exceeding the manufacturer's recommended specification. The repair order was closed with the notation "test drove and vibration is gone." This conclusion is inaccurate. The shuddering was only partially reduced — the root cause was not identified or resolved. The safety concern is significant. I have found myself instinctively adjusting how I apply the brake pedal to avoid triggering the sensation. A vehicle that changes the way its driver brakes is dangerous. A second repair attempt is being scheduled at the selling dealership.

The contact owns a 2026 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed through a tornado, the steering and braking systems became inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

  • 07/31/2026· POWER TRAIN

When you almost stop but then hit the gas there is a dead petal. The vehicle doesn’t accelerate. Then you almost get t boned. They know about the problem but say everything is fine. It’s traction control. It is not. I guess I will have to sue if I survive the crash.

  • 07/29/2026· SERVICE BRAKES

Brake system failure at less than 50 miles. Dealer providing minimal information Red Brake Warning lamp, Brake fluid low error message, and "Braking Power Low" Message being "Stop in a Safe Place"

  • 07/22/2026· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I bought the vehicle new in November 2025. 2026 Toyota Tubdra TRD SR5. In the first week I noticed a lot of jerking and shaking. I brought it to the dealer and was told it was a break in period and it should go away. I’ve had the truck in the shop 5-6 times since and the jerking and shaking hasn’t gone away. I’m at 6300 miles now. The dealer won’t even respond to me anymore. The only way to make the jerking go away is to step on the gas pedal harder but this has become extremely dangerous because it’s forcing me to go faster than I would like, especially in school zones. The dealers say that it’s the truck running very low RPM’s to maximize fuel efficiency and also because there are 10 gears but is that’s the case than why isn’t everyone experiencing it. It’s worse on cold mornings (40 or below) but it’s almost like the truck needs an hour or two to warm up. Even then it’s still jerking. My guess is that the truck doesn’t know what gear it’s supposed to be in but 4th or 5th gear are the worst where the truck hesitates and jerks. I’ve been told to run it in Sport mode but that doesn’t help. I’m finding more and more complaints about this online with the Toyota Tundra SR5’s and I’m part of numerous groups. Someone needs to step in because no one should have to go through this and it’s very unsafe to have to push the gas pedal down harder to make the jerking go away.Thank you for your time.

  • 07/21/2026· POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

This is a reoccuring issue and happens daily. When the vehicle is cold and sitting all day or all night, on the first 5 minutes of driving or so, when you push the accelerator pedal from a dead stop or rolling stop, there is no throttle/engine response for at least 1.5-2 seconds. This is a HIGHLY unsafe condition and can lead to a traffic collision. I have reached out to Toyota Corporate about this and they said to bring it into my local dealer, Dick Hannah Toyota in Kelso, WA to perform the rolling stop TSB that is out on these Tundra Trucks. I received information from Dick Hannah that when they went to perform the procedures to take care of this TSB, that it had already been done and that there was nothing they could do further. They asked me to document the conditions to try and get Toyota Corporate to do something about it. I asked if there wasn't a recalibration they could do or anything else to make this condition improve, and they said no there is not. I expressed my concerns saying that there is nothing to document, that this happens everyday and is a daily occurence whenever the vehicle has been sitting for a long period of time. I have reached out to other vehicle owners on vehicle forums on the internet that are experiencing the same exact problems with no remediation from Toyota Dealers or Toyota Corporate. I was even offered to get into a split to hire a lawyer to get this unsafe condition remedied. This is a big deal and should not be overlooked and written off by ANYBODY.

  • 07/02/2026· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Bought my vehicle brand new on January 2026. During heavy rain, my truck has a strong water leak that comes out of the handle bars between the windshield and front door windows, behind the rearview mirrors and the sun glasses compartment. I’ve brought my vehicle to the dealership 3 times already and couldn’t fix the issue or duplicate the water leak. After the third visit at the dealership, i couldn’t find out if the leak was fixed since it has not rained since then. So i went ahead and washed my vehicle and sprayed the top and front of my vehicle. As i went in my truck, i saw water leaking again.

  • 06/24/2026· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

Rear sunroof window exploded out while driving. Truck had just under 9000 total miles on it when this happened. Driving on I25 east of Casper Wyoming in very high cross winds. No other vehicle was within a quarter of a mile when the roof exploded with a VERY loud bang!

  • 06/18/2026· POWER TRAIN

From date of purchase… when truck accelerates from dead stop, drive train shudders for several seconds before fully engaged. Suspect issue related to software, hybrid enterface with drivetrain, torque converter not locking up. Dealer verified condition with test drive. Concluded it was operating normally. I don’t buy this explanation. Is it going to fail me entering traffic? Will it get progressively worse?

  • 06/08/2026· VISIBILITY/WIPER

A minor stone chip instantly escalated into a 12-inch crack that ran all the way to the edge of the glass. The factory acoustic glass is structurally weak and brittle, causing minor road debris to immediately result in a massive crack that compromises the glass integrity on the passenger side view.

  • 05/28/2026· POWER TRAIN

The vehicle is either unresponsive or has a severe throttle delay from a stop or a very low speed, creating is a major safety issue. This could leave the vehicle in a position to not be able to accelerate, and risks becoming a hazard to other traffic, particularly at intersections. Understanding that a TSB is available for a transmission code reflash to resolve this issue, dealers are denying the repairs stating that they are unable to reproduce the issue in their limited test drives. It is not possible to predict when these severe hesitations occur, so reproducing the issue occurs on an unknown basis.

The contact owns an Autokato Mid Rise Scissor Lift. The contact stated that while using the Autokato Mid-Rise Scissor Lift, the ramps failed to function as intended. The contact inspected the ramps and determined that the ramps were partially welded. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the Autokato Mid-Rise Scissor Lift had been discontinued.

  • 05/10/2026· ENGINE

I was turning left from a stop sign on to a busy road. Immediately after beginning to pull out, the engine stalled and left the truck powerless in the middle of the intersection. I almost got t boned from vehicles traveling both directions. The truck eventually regained power a few seconds after the stall. I had my wife and toddler with me and the situation could have been bad. I no longer the trust the truck which sucks being that it has 2500 miles. Searching online, many owners have had this happen and Toyota refuses to do anything meaningful. This needs to be recall before someone gets hurt, or worse. I’ll be taking the truck in but am doubtful anything will come of it from the dealership.

  • 04/18/2026· SUSPENSION

While Driving at 75mph there was sudden violent shake of Truck and it was not until I reduced the speed to 55 that it stopped. Then it happened again for the second time in the same day. After a week it is still doing the same sporadic but the truck feels jumping. Took it to the Toyota Dealer and they discarded any tire balance issue and they said they need to recreate the issue in order to be able to diagnose the problem. My concern is safety and that sudden violent shake loose the control.

  • 04/10/2026· SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The Anti-Collision System / Automatic Braking System engages, even when turned off. This is a major safety hazard and nearly got me into an accident. With the ACS disengaged, poking the front end of the vehicle out into oncoming traffic while trying to merge, the vehicle locks up completely, disabling the vehicle, rendering it a sitting duck in oncoming traffic.

  • 03/11/2026· VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

After stopping at a stop sign and waiting for a clearance, the truck did not respond to throttle input for what felt like 2-3 seconds. The temperature was about 80 degrees, and I had already been driving for 30 minutes when this happened.

  • 02/18/2026· ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The engine in my 2026 Toyota Tundra has significant throttle delay/lag when its cold - even if I let it warm up - it still has significant delay in throttle response - the truck has poor light throttle response and then lurches (even with the most minute progressive throttle input). This almost caused an accident where I nearly got T-boned because the vehicle crept a bit and then suddenly lurched quickly. The vehicle was also hesitant to reach 60mph (even though it was warmed up) after about 10 minutes of driving the vehicle started operating normally. I have a concern for safety everytime I drive this vehicle.

  • 02/11/2026· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

The tailgate remote operation is inconsistent. it usually does not work and the tailgate has to be lowered by randomly applying pressure in different spots. Nothing seems consistent. Once it opens then it may work a few times then goes back to not working. This is true regardless of the "switch" used (Key fob, button on rear of vehicle in tail light assembly, button on the gate itself, switch/button on dash). I had it in the dealer 2 months after taking deliver and they told me it was fixed now a couple months later it is happening again.

  • 02/09/2026· VISIBILITY/WIPER

While driving, the sunroof suddenly exploded without any external cause. The temperature at the time was approximately 42°F. The glass shattered throughout the interior of the vehicle, with pieces falling into my clothing and all over the cabin.I immediately contacted the dealership and was advised to visit the nearest Toyota location; however, there wasn’t one nearby. I had to cover the vehicle with a tarp to continue my 4 hour drive home. Thankfully, I was traveling alone—had my family been with me, including my [XXX] infant, this could have resulted in severe injury, as glass would have fallen directly on the car seat. The dealership later inspected the vehicle and found no evidence of any outside influence or impact that could have caused the explosion. I’m deeply concerned about the safety implications of this failure and would like to understand how Toyota plans to address this situation, as well as ensure this does not pose a continued risk to other drivers. Sometimes at a red light or stop sign, I go to take off and the truck will hesitate for a second or two. I press the pedal down aways and then it lurches and takes off slowly. Been happening regularly.
