The ADAS do not work properly when it rains, when there is fog (density doesn't seem to be a factor when the warning light comes on), or first thing in the morning when there is condensation on the vehicle. These are the times when they are most needed to help the driver.

  • 09/24/2025· STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

While driving under normal conditions on September 15, 2025, the right front wheel rim detached from my Dodge 2025 Hornet UT ZACNDFAN7R3A14662. The detached rim struck and dented the right front door, and I was forced to purchase a replacement rim. This vehicle is still under warranty. A wheel rim separating from the vehicle is a serious safety defect that could cause loss of control, property damage, or injury. I am requesting that this be investigated as a potential recall issue.

  • 09/13/2025· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Not being able to scroll through the presets on the steering wheel is a safety hazard. I previously had a 2023 Compass, and it had the buttons on the back of the steering wheel that allowed you to cycle through presets, step through channels up and down one by on and change the source (Sirius, FM, AM, Phone). All without having to take your eyes off the road to swipe through screens to find what you want to listen to. This is a huge miss for the Hornet.

My car has had an issue ever since they replaced the recall for my radio. I have been getting the A arrow symbol and it says start stop restart. I was in the middle of traffic and I have to make sure I keep inching up without fully stopping bc my car will shut itself down in gear. With traffic around me I have to put it in park and try to start it 3-4 times for the error to go away I almost got rear ended a few times. This has been an on going dangerous issue. They want me to drop my car off for the day and pay fees. This is awful and not safe! And then my radio screen turns off and then it won’t connect to my phone or it says it’s over heating when it’s 70-80 outside my entire dash will shut off where I can’t see the speed etc no gauges.

Unresolved Safety Defects & Request for Buyback/Replacement - 2024 Dodge Hornet GT Dear NHTSA I am writing to formally demand a resolution regarding a persistent and life-threatening safety defect in my vehicle, purchased from Gary Barbera Autoland. Since the time of purchase, this vehicle has experienced repeated electrical malfunctions causing a total loss of power, including the failure of steering and braking systems while in motion. To date, the vehicle has been returned for service seven times over the past 2.5 years for this identical issue. The dealership has failed to rectify the defect and is now citing an expired mileage warranty. However, the records clearly indicate that this safety defect was reported and remained unresolved while the vehicle was well within the warranty period. Under the Pennsylvania Lemon Law and the federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a manufacturer is required to repair a vehicle within a reasonable number of attempts (typically three). This vehicle is currently unsafe for myself, my disabled mother, and the public. I am requesting that Stellantis the Manufacturer initiate a buyback or replacement of this vehicle immediately. Please provide a written response within [5-7] business days outlining your intent to resolve this matter. Thank you Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  • 04/21/2024· STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES

We Purchased the Dodge Hornet GT on 04/17/2024 drove it home and parked it. My Husband tried to drive it on 04/18/2024 and the steering failed and the dash board lit up with: Service Power steering, Drive mode unavailable, Park sense disabled, Service Engine, Auto Dim High Beams unavailable, Service forward collision Warning and ESC Hill Start Assist with warning lights/Icons on the left side of the dash board. I Phoned Suburban Chrylser, Dodge, Jeep, Ram of Troy, where the vehicle was purchased, and they picked it up and loaned me a vehicle because they said, "Do not drive it". I was informed early the next morning that it was repaired and ready for pick up which I did about 10:30 a.m. on 04/19/2024. We got in the vehicle on 04/20/2024 and upon start some of the same lights flashed across the right side of the dash board, briefly, and then disappeared. No warning lights/icons remained like before. We waited then Drove out to visit our son, about 30 minutes away. After an hour and half visit we drove home at which time the "Service Power steering" flashed on the right side of the dash board and the vehicle lost steering while traveling 70 miles an hour the the expressway. This was brief and terrifying! There were no further instances for the next 15 minutes until right at the moment that we were trying to pull into our driveway and every single issue that popped up before popped up again, with the warning lights/icons on the left side of the dash board, losing the rear camera as well. I managed to park it and spent hours searching information about this issue and there are several complaints on line regarding, it seems, this exact issue. The car IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE! It has 117 miles on it. If they do manage to fix it I don't know if I will ever feel safe in it unless they can prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I am not in danger. We waited four months and paid $12,000.00 down for a car we CAN NOT use. I have photo's of the dashboard too.

  • 04/13/2024· ENGINE

The car operates as if the start stop function is on when it has been turned off. The car idles erratically it launches when driving. The car pulls back while driving and putters. I have been scared to drive the car due to the way it erratically drives. The check engine light has come on twice. The coolant hose repaired, and now engine needs replacing due to piston, pin scoring cylinder walls, and spark plugs fouled. On both occasions, there was no oil found on inspection on the dipstick. No engine overheat warning, no low oil fuel or need for oil light ever comes on. Only indicator was initially performance how hot the car stayed afterwards the smells and the black soot coming out the back tail pipe before the engine light pops on while driving . I felt I was going to break down while driving. And this was after taking it out of the shop after two weeks. It was out of oil again. I happen to check it because I was scared and sure enough no oil. I have taken it back to the shop and I’ve been told now it needs a new engine. I could not make it to the break-in period of 7500 miles to perform an oil consumption test. But it is obvious the car was defective with a bad engine as can happen what I want now is a new car and a buyback from Dodge.

Date: April 1, 2026 Subject: FINAL NOTICE: Repeated Safety Failures and Demand for Buyback – 2024 Dodge Hornet (VIN: [XXX] ) To [XXX] Autoland, Management and Stellantis Customer Care, I am writing to formally document a persistent and life-threatening safety defect regarding my 2024 Dodge Hornet GT, purchased on December 21, 2023. As of today, this vehicle has become a liability to my physical safety and a significant financial burden. Vehicle Information: Year/Make/Model: 2024 Dodge Hornet GT Purchase Date: 12/21/2023 Current Mileage: 41,166 History of Failure: The vehicle has experienced five distinct instances of total power loss, resulting in the immediate loss of power steering and braking assistance while in motion. These incidents occurred on the following dates: January 10, 2024 May 2024 October 19, 2024 – November 21, 2024 (Out of service for 33 days) November 24, 2024 (Out of service for an additional 7 days) March 29, 2026 – Present (Currently in shop; no status update or loaner provided) Safety Concern: These malfunctions are not minor mechanical inconveniences; they represent a "Nonconformity" that substantially impairs the safety and use of the vehicle. Operating a vehicle that may lose steering and braking power at any moment places me at imminent risk of bodily injury or death. Demand: Despite my exhaustive documentation—including photos, email history, and towing records—both the dealership and the manufacturer have failed to provide a permanent repair or adequate support. I am formally requesting a Repurchase (Buyback) of this vehicle under the provisions of state Lemon Law and the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. This vehicle has been out of service for over 40 cumulative days for the same recurring safety issue, which far exceeds the threshold for a "reasonable number of repair attempts." Please provide a written response regarding the status of my vehicle and a decision on this buyback request within 3 days INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  • 02/24/2026· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE,SERVICE BRAKES

I am a disabled veteran reporting a failed recall remedy and a dangerous safety defect in a 2024 Dodge Hornet GT. This vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Recall 25V246000 (Rear Visibility System), where the display module was reportedly replaced/updated. On January 17, 2026, while driving at slow speeds, the center infotainment screen suffered a total failure and went blank. This failure resulted in the immediate loss of the rearview camera and all primary safety/vehicle interfaces, which is a direct violation of FMVSS No. 111. I provided video evidence of the total screen failure to the service department at Southern Dodge Jeep Ram Alfa Romeo in Norfolk Virginia. While they confirmed the failure occurred based on my footage, they stated they could not replicate the issue during their inspection and informed me there was "nothing they could do." They refused to keep me in a safe loaner vehicle, forcing me to choose between driving a fundamentally unsafe vehicle with my young child or incurring massive personal expense for a rental. Due to the manufacturer’s inability to provide a permanent remedy for a federally recalled safety defect, I was forced to sell the vehicle at a significant loss. I am filing this to urge an investigation into the effectiveness of the current remedy for Recall 25V246000.

I went to have an oil change and was told I had a coolant leak. Took to dealership and they told me they don’t see an issue. Two days later the same problem persists. I go under the hood and the coolant container is empty. Coolant was added and there is still an issue. I bring it back for a second time and dealership can not find the problem but clearly there is a problem.
