The automatic power running board of my vehicle has been coming loose. I took the vehicle to my dealership to get serviced. They said they tightened the bolts, and that the board is still loose. They also say there is nothing else they can do to fix the issue. This seems like a significant risk, as this component of the body of my car is at risk of coming apart further due to rattling while driving. I would like your help figuring out a safe solution.

I purchased my vehicle in July 2024 brand new. I started to experience an engine shudder at about 4500 miles with the truck coasting or on the accelerator around 1500 RPMs. It first began at lower speeds around 40 mph, but now I feel it at high speeds as well. I brought my truck back to the dealership three or four times and they told me that the shudder was due to the active fuel management system in my 2.7L Turbomax engine. A different dealer said that it felt like a torque converter. There are no lights on the dashboard. The dealership I bought it from failed to try and flush the transmission fluid, only documenting that they did not feel the shudder on the receipt they gave me. However, during the test drive, they told me that they can clearly feel it. They failed to give me an explanation why there was no shudder for the first 4500 miles, and that it just started. They also stated that they had not heard of this problem yet, but said that it felt completely normal, which does not make much sense.

I purchased my vehicle from Mak Haik Chevrolet 11711 Katy Fwy. Houston, TX 77079 on [XXX]. Approximately 4 months my Check Engine Light came on and I brought my Truck to Mak Haik Chevrolet to have it checked out. The Service Department could not figure out why the Check Engine Light had came on. They did complete the Recall N242435631 regarding a need to update the radio and serial communication firmware on my truck. On Saturday November 9th 2024, I brought my truck into Mak Haik Chevrolet for the 2nd oil change at approximately 10,000 miles, and the technician could not get the truck to go into reverse. I was given a loaner vehicle and told that they would contact me about the issue once their transmission technician could look my truck on Monday. I was contacted on Monday November 11th2024, and told that the Valve Body in the transmission was defective. Jim Cox, Service Advisor with Mak Haik Chevrolet, explained that he could not find the part, as this is a big issue with Chevrolet across the Country, and he would let me know when he has access to the part. I asked about replacing the transmission instead, and Jim explained that he could not get those in either? Mak Haik Chevrolet has had my truck since November 9th, 2024. Every time I tow my travel trailer within 150 miles or so I will get a message that the Diesel Exhaust fluid (DEF)is low and needs to be filled soon. Within 50 miles of that happening I will get the message that the DEF is low and will be speed limited in 500 miles. When I stop and fill the DEF fluid it only takes about 2.5 gallons which isn't even halfway empty. When the Speed Limited to 65 in xxx miles warning comes on you are unable to view any other safety related information such as tire pressure or temperatures. I took my truck to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. in September and they kept a 6 month old truck for 23 days. They said there is an issue with the DEF software algorithm while towing and they don't have a fix. They have a technical service bulletin that tells them to instruct customers not to add DEF until they get the Speed Limited in xxx miles . In other words don't fill it up when it says it's empty. The DEF system is a government requirement and the manufacturer should be required to ensure that their system is accurate and working under all driving conditions.

Formal complaint — outdated Android/Google Built-In security patch level on 2024 Chevy Silverado; potential cybersecurity defect and negligent maintenance by manufacturer. I am submitting a formal complaint regarding a critical cybersecurity and software maintenance defect in my 2024 Chevy Silverado. The vehicle runs Google Built-In / Android Automotive OS with an Android Security Patch Level of February 2024 (as displayed under Settings → About → Android version). As of this writing in December 2025, this patch level is nearly two years outdated, with no available over-the-air (OTA) updates and no clear communication from General Motors or Google regarding continued support or end-of-life status. This condition exposes the infotainment and telematics systems to known and documented vulnerabilities, representing both a cybersecurity defect and potential consumer safety. Description of the defect: The infotainment system reports “Android Security Patch Level: February 2024.” Attempts to check for updates return “Your system is up to date.” The system shows a red exclamation mark beside the patch level, indicating a fault condition or known update gap. Neither the dealer nor OnStar/Customer Support can apply an update manually or clarify the support cadence. This leaves the vehicle permanently exposed to Android-level vulnerabilities discovered and patched long after February 2024. Security and regulatory implications: The infotainment system runs a network-connected OS with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, cellular, and vehicle bus access. Unpatched Android components are subject to hundreds of known CVEs since February 2024 — including privilege-escalation, RCE (remote code execution), and Bluetooth/Wi-Fi stack vulnerabilities. The U.S. NHTSA Cybersecurity Best Practices for the Safety of Modern Vehicles (2022 update) and ISO/SAE 21434 require that manufacturers maintain timely security updates for all connected vehicle systems.

Formal complaint — persistent, non-disableable Bluetooth transmitter in [2024 Chevy Silverado] / privacy & safety risk; request for remediation and recall assessment I am writing to file a formal complaint regarding a safety and privacy defect in the infotainment/telematics system of my vehicle, a The unit runs Google Built-In / Android Automotive OS. This complaint documents technical evidence that the vehicle’s Bluetooth radio broadcasts a persistent, non-randomized MAC address and cannot be completely disabled via any user-accessible control. I request immediate remediation, a formal security assessment, and confirmation whether this condition will be remediated by firmware/OTA update or recall. Summary of the issue The infotainment unit’s Bluetooth adapter emits BLE advertisements that expose a static, permanent MAC address i.e ([AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF]) that does not change across power cycles and is visible to passive scanners while the vehicle is parked and otherwise idle. The vehicle provides no persistent user control to turn off the Bluetooth radio; menus do not disable the hardware radio. Attempts to disable Bluetooth via the system settings are ineffective. The static MAC and inability to disable the radio create an ongoing privacy and tracking risk: third parties can uniquely identify and track the vehicle across time and locations by logging the broadcasted identifier. This configuration is inconsistent with current industry cybersecurity & privacy guidance that recommends minimizing exposed identifiers, providing user control to disable wireless interfaces, and implementing randomization of wireless addresses when possible. The static MAC plus non-disableable radio constitutes a persistent, unique identifier broadcast in public spaces. This defeats reasonable efforts by consumers to limit tracking and to control their privacy.

Truck was purchased Aug 2024 During first few months, I felt a shudder/vibration when either holding speed and/or slightly accelerating between 30-45 mph, usually at 1100-1300 RPM. Current Odometer 33,995 In the last month the truck has began to vibrate worse. I have a "Rumblestrip" feeling when at the same speeds. More noticeable on surface roads when following behind traffic at 30-45 mph. Generally the shudder is felt at approx. 1100-1300 RPM. Took the truck to the dealer yesterday, and they performed a quick roadtest. Service Tech was able to feel the rumble strip shudder multiple times, however their diagnostic tool only indicated a TCC Slip 2 times during a 20 min drive. The shudder/vibration happens when in "D". It is not present in "L9", or in "Tow Mode". The shudder feels worse in 4WD. If the shudder/vibration is happening, I am able to hold the speed and RPM at the current spot, the sensation is continuous and does not go away unless I accelerate or decelerate. I tend to feel it more when on an incline, and decelerating. As or right now the data has been sent to GM for diagnostic viewing. My vehicle has a recurring defect with the windshield washer system where the washer fluid does not dispense when activated. This issue occurred on a new vehicle and has persisted despite service attempts. When the washer fluid fails to spray, I am unable to clear dirt, dust, road debris, or moisture from the windshield while driving. This significantly reduces forward visibility, especially at freeway speeds or in conditions where debris from other vehicles hits the windshield. The inability to clear the windshield immediately creates a safety hazard because it can obstruct the driver’s line of sight and increase the risk of a collision. This issue is not cosmetic, it directly affects safe operation of the vehicle and the driver’s ability to maintain visibility during normal driving conditions. Regarding Recall Repair on My Truck To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally express my frustration and concern regarding the recent service performed on my truck, which I purchased pre-owned from Tropical Chevrolet with only 4,700 miles. 9 months after my purchase, the vehicle received a manufacturer recall involving the motor, requiring a full engine replacement. I brought the truck to Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall for the recall repair, expecting that it would be handled correctly and at no cost to me, especially since the truck was running perfectly before the recall work. After the motor was replaced, I was informed that the Air intake manifold currently on the truck is “not original.” This Air intake manifold was already installed when I bought the truck from Tropical Chevrolet, and I was never informed of any aftermarket or non-original parts at the time of purchase. Now, after Bomnin Chevrolet completed the recall repair, the truck has a check-engine light, and I am being told I must pay approximately $900 to change it for original air intake manifold to remove the check engine warning light. I think the mecanic took out the program.from the computer and Now they want me to pay. This is unacceptable for the following reasons: 1. The truck had no check engine warning lights and was running properly before the recall repair. 2. The Air intake manifold was already on the truck when I purchased it from Tropical Chevrolet. 3. I never approved or installed any non-original parts. 4. Bomnin Chevrolet removed and reinstalled the parts during the recall repair. 5. I should not be held financially responsible for problems created during the recall repair process. I am requesting that this matter be reviewed and resolved immediately by Bomnin Chevrolet West Kendall. The truck should be returned to me in the same conditions I gave it to them and the recall fix.Thank You Regards, Rafael Lafee

For the first time I purchased a brand new vehicle off a dealership lot…What a mistake. While the dealership itself was an awful experience I thought it was worth it for a Chevy Silverado. After all my previous one was so reliable. WRONG. The first issue I found was I was unable to shift into reverse to back out of the driveway of a fire station I volunteer at. After driving forward a couple times and shutting the vehicle off and shifting multiple times I had to be towed out in reverse. I was able to drive home but the transmissions slipped once and the vehicle slowed abruptly. The check engine light was now on. I dropped the vehicle off at the dealership over the weekend and on Monday they called and informed me the 2024 Silverado misfired once and nothing was wrong with the transmission. There was nothing they could do. About two months later I was driving to work as a career firefighter/paramedic when my vehicles check engine light came on and a message informed me that I was in “reduced acceleration mode”. I slowly and carefully made my way to work and brought the truck to the dealership after my shift. The check engine light was now on again. They informed me later that day that I had a faulty valve body in my transmission. They “unfortunately” could not give me a completion date on my repair as they had no ETA for the replacement part. It appears the part is in high demand. This makes sense as a quick google search shows this is a widely known issue with the 10 speed transmission. So far I have been unable to get a rental vehicle between the dealership and GM. Aside from my house my 2024 Silverado is the largest purchase of my life. And at 15,000 miles I am without it for the foreseeable future. As a first responder the communities I serve depend on me to respond from home at any hour. My family and I are living in a DIY renovation while also starting a farm business. I need a dependable vehicle and regret spending $53,000 on a new vehicle. I have more to say.

I am writing to formally report a critical safety issue involving the torque converter in my vehicle, which has put my safety and the safety of others at risk. The problem began when I noticed rumbling noises emanating from the underside of the vehicle while driving at slow speeds on any type of road. There were no warning lamps or messages displayed on the vehicle to indicate an issue. This lack of advance notice left me unaware of the potential danger, increasing the risk of an accident. Upon having the vehicle inspected by a certified dealership, it was confirmed that the torque converter had come apart. This malfunction significantly compromised the vehicle’s drivability and posed a serious safety hazard. Sudden loss of power or reduced control, which could occur due to such a failure, puts both the driver and other road users at risk of an accident. I am deeply concerned about the implications of this issue for other vehicles that may have similar defects. I urge the NHTSA to investigate this matter promptly to determine if it represents a broader safety concern and to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to prevent further incidents. Please feel free to contact me for any additional details or documentation related to this issue. I appreciate your attention to this urgent matter and look forward to your response. I was taking a left from a stop sign onto a busy boulevard and as soon as I had passed the median I started losing acceleration and it felt like the transmission or engine was glitching or lugging. The engine began to try restarting itself possibly from the auto start-stop however I was now almost at a dead stop in the left hand lane in the dark. I promptly attempted to turn my hazards on, but they would not turn on while it was trying to start so I held the brake pedal down for light. I tried to turn the truck off and turn it back on however the hazards still did not work, none of the gauges went off when the truck was turned off, IE gas and voltage gauges were stuck. After attempting to put it into park and drive a few times I was finally able to turn the truck off, open the door and close it. At this point I was finally able to get the hazards turned on, however, it seemed like they would not stay on when the truck was trying to start so I could get out of the left hand lane. Fortunately someone stopped and we were able to push the truck off onto the median. After about a dozen attempts, the truck finally started, with the last attempt pumping the gas repeatedly for about twenty seconds. I drove hit for another twenty minutes and it drove okay with the engine light on. Onstar diagnostics mentioned possible fuel pump relay. I will note I did test drive a same year GMC equivalent model, and as the dealer went to gas it up, it would not start again. It ended up being the fuel pump relay.

Hairline crack developed on the transmission cooling line at the connection of the thermal bypass block. After looking up it seems to be common. Yes, there have been user-reported issues with transmission cooler lines leaking or cracking on 2024 Chevrolet Silverado models equipped with the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine, including at or near the thermal bypass block connection. These reports primarily come from owner forums and appear to affect a subset of vehicles, often discovered during routine maintenance or after noticing fluid spots under the truck. Symptoms can include hard shifting, fluid seepage on the undercarriage, or low transmission fluid levels, with some cases progressing to require towing if not addressed early. For instance, multiple owners of 2024 Silverado 1500 models (including ZR2 trims with the LZ0 3.0L Duramax) have described leaks originating from the cooling line block or thermal bypass area next to the oil filter, sometimes involving hairline cracks in the lines themselves. In one detailed account, a 2024 model with around 35,000 miles experienced fluid leaking from the cooling line block, leading to replacement of seals and the entire line assembly due to cracking discovered after initial repairs. Similar problems have been noted on closely related 2023 models, where leaks at the thermal bypass valve necessitated replacing the valve, O-rings, and all cooler lines, with some users reporting hairline cracks as the root cause. Parts like the lines have been on backorder in some cases, causing repair delays, and resolutions are typically covered under warranty (e.g., powertrain coverage up to 100,000 miles), though repeated visits to dealerships are common. These issues seem tied to the 10L80 10-speed transmission paired with the 3.0L Duramax, where the thermal bypass valve can contribute to overheating or fluid flow problems if faulty, potentially exacerbating line wear

Complaint Description On Tuesday October 28th, 2025 while driving to work, my 2024 Chevy Silverado LTZ suddenly went into limp mode during normal driving. The truck would not go into reverse at all. I had to use OnStar to call a tow from my residence because the vehicle was not safe or able to be operated. The truck has been at the Chevrolet dealership since that day and as of today (November 7th) it still has not been repaired. The service department confirmed it is a failed transmission valve body. Research shows this is a recurring and known issue on many GM trucks and GM does not appear to have a permanent fix yet. Component/System that failed: Transmission Valve Body failure. Component is currently located at the GM dealership and is available for inspection. Safety Risk: This failure caused sudden limp mode, loss of power, and inability to reverse while in active traffic. This put my safety and potentially other drivers at risk due to sudden unexpected deceleration and inability to maneuver safely. Problem Confirmed: Yes. Confirmed by GM dealership service technicians. Inspection: The vehicle is currently at the GM dealership. No manufacturer field rep, insurance, or police inspection has occurred yet. Warnings / Codes Present: The failure occurred without prior early signs that morning. When it failed, OnStar diagnostics reported: P2732: Transmission System — “Engine and Transmission System not performing as expected.” P0700: Transmission Control Module requested Malfunction Indicator Lamp illumination. Emissions related DTC set in the Transmission Control Module. Both codes triggered at the time limp mode activated. Best Assessment: This appears to be an ongoing recurring GM transmission valve body issue affecting newer GM trucks. The failure caused a sudden loss of drive capability and is a safety hazard that requires NHTSA investigation.

There is an extreme risk here for anyone who is driving at interstate speeds and this were to happen. After experiencing this incident, I was told the transmission or the transmission valve body required to be replaced by the dealership. I researched this later and discovered an extensive list of year models with the same problem. I was told services bulletins have been issued on this issue, but this is a serious risk to loss of life. I was told today Chevrolet doesn’t have a solution to the valve body problem and I would be without my vehicle until it is found and repaired. I am requesting a formal investigation. My truck is located at Tom Gibbs Chevrolet, Bunnell , Florida. [XXX] , [XXX] , [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Truck did not have reverse. Service engine came on after going forward and possible loud shudder like going over a pot hole. Not sure if it was a pot hole or transmission. Dealer fixed the valve body in Transmission after 1 week.

We have had four previously documented issues with the electrical, brake and engine in our truck. Today, we were advised by the dealer that the truck had been fixed, and a new ECM had been installed. They advised they drove the truck for 100 miles and there were no issues. We picked the truck up and on the way home, while on the highway, the truck went into low power mode, the brakes went out, the check engine light and slip light came on. The dash began flashing detection warning lights (see attached photos): Brake system failure 62 MPH top speed, Service steering column lock, Reduced Acceleration drive with care, Service ESC, Service traction control. We immediately turned around and went back to the dealership and showed them what was going on. They took photographs and had the technician come out to look at the vehicle. He looked at the lights and codes and admitted he does not know what is going on. The service manager said that the company representative was coming tomorrow (10/21/25) and that he was going to speak with him and recommend a buyback. We left the truck with the dealer and were given a loaner car. This is the 5th incident with the same issues.

The car seat anchor system is very poorly designed and extremely difficult to use. I just spent an hour trying to ensure the seats for our grandchildren are installed correctly. The upper anchors are poorly placed, difficult to access and do not inspire confidence the seats will be secure in the event of an accident. This is after I had to take the truck in for a warranty claim because the lower car seat anchor on the back seat passenger side was covered by factory upholstery and could not be used at all. It’s very frustrating when one attempts to comply with safety regulations but poor design inhibits the proper installation of car seats.

Fuel system failed and cause damage to the engine. Failure of motor can cause loss of power steering and brakes. Dealership confirmed that a fuel injector made contact with piston and deposited debris into the motor. No warning lights of error codes prior to event.

I have a 2024 Silverado 1500 Z71. I purchased new, within the first month I started experiencing issues related to the fuel. Stalling, dying, missing at idle and failing to start. I’ve reported it to the dealerships, with the same response unable to duplicate. Sept 22, 2025 I was driving alone rounding a curve in the road when my vehicle lost complete power causing me to loose control crashing into trees. I was unharmed physically, but mentally this hurt. To know this all could have been avoided had Chevy customer service or the dealerships listen and looked at the dtc that were clearly shown. P3187 fuel pump pressure performance low pressure. Stated failed since last cleared. Dealership did not acknowledge or discuss with me this dtc. Instead they gave me a multi point inspection stating unable to duplicate. There negligence caused me to wreck

There is a safety recall on my truck and dealer wont take it in to address the issue. I have been trying for months and they say that they are waiting for guidance from GM. We don't feel safe driving the truck. Asked for GM to buy it back and they denied, told me to find another GM service center. I tried another and they said the same thing. I'm running in circles and shouldn't be forced to drive an unsafe truck that is ~1 year old.

GM is not handle this recall in a timely manner. They are refusing to inspect vehicle to see of there are any defects. This is concerning, as based on the recall notice, the engine may fail at anytime. This could cause a crash or leave me or my wife stranded on some road. My dealer would do the inspection but to do the inspection but they said they are not allowed until I have gotten "permission" from GM. This is a safety concern for me and my family and GM is not handling this appropriately. An immediate inspection should be done ensuring if the vehicle is safe to drive.
