  This happened on [XXX] in Oakland CA, it was a rainy day. I drove off the freeway and then parked the vehicle in the parking lot. The car was in idle mode. After about 10 minutes the engine started to stall, and then shut off completely. I tried to restart the engine but it failed. The dashboard showed an error message "Engine Stopped, Steering Power Low". I suspected that rainwater entered into the engine from the air intake.  After waiting for about 2 hours, I was able to restart the vehicle, and then everything seemed to be normal. Toyota should announce a recall for this problem as this is very dangerous to operate the vehicle on the freeway on rainy days.   While at stop light notices my 2023 Toyota Rav 4 LE engine was steaming. Pulled into a parking lot when Power steering fluid low warning light came on and said that the engine will stop. After I put in some power steering fluid the dash warning lights lit up, with the following warning lights: Pre-collision brake system failure, Collision brake system failure, Secondary collision system failure and check engine light came on. Had vehicle towed to dealership, they did an test and confirmed several error codes and they are waiting on Toyota engineers to provide information on cause and remedy. While at dealership was told by service adviser that there was sat least one other individual with the same issue. The dealership unfortunately don’t know the cause of the problem

  Yesterday I drove an hour in the rain for the first time in my brand new 2023 rav4. I pulled into a parking lot, put it in park and all of the sudden my car starting stuttering/jerking/jolting the whole car, the rpm's were fluttering up and down between 2-3, the car engine turned on and off and car felt very weird. Check engine light and yellow explanation symbol came on with message " Engine stopped steering power low" and turned car off. Then I turned it back on and it was doing the same thing jolting me forward with the same message and also the message "Not Ready to drive" and shut the whole car back off. I could barely make it out of the drive thru to park it out of the way in a spot to wait for a tow truck. It wouldn't drive. I had to get it towed to dealership and of course when it got there it was acting normal. I got it brand new 3 weeks ago. The dealership had it for just over a day and said nothing was wrong and no codes were showing that anything happened. I am extremely concerned since something did happen! This seems dangerous especially since the codes did not record. I told them I had a trip to go on up north and there was rain/snow anticipated and they said they would be okay sending their family off in this car since everything with the car says it’s fine

  The vehicle several occasions been unresponsive to accelerate. This has happened on two separate occasions (days) in which the vehicle would not accelerate. The first occurrence was right after I purchased the car and drove it the first full day I owned it in September 2023. The second time was on Saturday December 16, 2023. When the vehicle is driven under 40 mph such as slowing for a turn, braking for a traffic light, picking up speed to enter onto a highway this problem occurs. It is when the gas is pressed down to accelerate, the vehicle does not respond by increasing the speed. The RPM's would go really high and the vehicle would receive the gas but would not "shift" and felt stuck. And the transmission was very loud. It felt like the vehicle transmission was slipping or not engaging/shifting. Adding more gas was not beneficial. The gas pedal could be pressed down to the floor and the vehicle was not responsive by shifting "gears" or picking up speed. The vehicle would not accelerate above 20 mph and the RPMs would go up. No lights or warnings were produced. The only way to get the vehicle to act normally once again was to pull the car over into a safe location, shift the car into park, shut the car off, wait for a few seconds, restart the car and proceed. In one session (driving the same day) the car repeated the inability to accelerate each time the vehicle was slowed down below 40 mph to come to a stop at a stop sign, take a turn, stop at a traffic light etc. This was dangerous as I was not able to proceed in traffic and caused other drivers to honk their horns at me, and left me stuck in intersections. This was very disconcerting and left me feeling endangered by not being able to follow the flow of traffic. Toyota Service did a diagnostic test on it twice now. The first time had torque converter codes. This 2nd time they claim there were no codes on the diagnostic test. They dropped the transmission pan and found no metal shavings.

  My wife was going at about 10 - 15 mph coming up about 2 car lengths to a small curve in a residential area when all of a sudden she heard a pop or snap and the Rav4 went to a super high speed by itself. The acceleration could not be stopped even though she had her feet on the brakes. She had both hands on the steering wheel to avoid hitting a house and ended up going through a wall in the yard. There were no warning sounds and no signals indicating a problem. it appeared that the display was blank. There was no pre-collision warning or braking except as my wife was pushing on the brakes. She also hit the right side into side wall. No air bags deployed even though Windshield and all door glass on sides shattered. My wife the driver was okay and not hurt, and the grandchild in the car seat behind my wife was fine also. Neither had injuries. There were checked by emt. The police looked but all would not try to get in except to remove my granddaughter. My wife was removed also because she could not get out the door was jammed against shed and rock, and handles broken off This happened after the recall work was done by toyota dealer on 12/04/2025. There were no problems prior to the recall. Mud, water, or road salt could potentially enter the HV Floor Underwire connector housing and could cause corrosion over time. Excessive corrosion could cause AM Radio Static during certain driving cycles, or the vehicle may not start. Status Remedy Available Remedy Any authorized Toyota dealer will apply a wire harness protector seal to the HV Floor Under Wire Connector. Toyota corporate engagement is looking into this.

  As I was driving on the highway, the glass of my sunroof imploded. There were no other cars around nor was there any people. It sounded as if something popped above my head. I researched this incident and apparently there are other RAV4 owners that had the same problem.

Safety concern is the failure/inaccessibility to the safety/visibility feature associated with the reverse camera. (Issue was intermittent upon ignition and remain non functional until vehicle would be powered off and back on again.)

  The navigation system very frequently loses your location and begins jumping all over the place searching. I've been complaining to Toyota about since the day after I purchased my 2023 RAV4 Hybrid and at first they blamed my iPhone, then claimed they knew nothing about the problem, only after months of complaining do they now acknowledge that there is an issue and they are working to fix it. In addition to the navigation issues with the new head unit, it also no longer pauses or mutes music when reading text messages or dictating text messages. I previously had a 2019 RAV4 Hybrid and didn't have either of these issues. Now I am no longer able to handsfree listen to or respond to text messages and the navigation system is so faulty it is virtually useless.

  I purchased my 2023 Toyota RAV4 new back on March 13,2023. 10 days later on March 23 it was raining as I pulled into BJ’s parking lot, I parked and began fumbling around getting my bag and keys together when my car started shaking and sputtering eventually shutting down with an error message engine stopped steering power low. After a call to the salesman I was able to get my car restarted after 15minutes and many failed attempts. Car was bought back to service the following week and I was told car was not properly programmed at delivery, it was now programmed correctly and this should not happen again. April 17,2023 my son pulling into Tractor supply , raining out, pulls into spot and car again shakes, sputters and shuts off, same message engine stopped steering power low. After many attempts car restarts approximately 20 minutes later. Car serviced codes ARE FOUND and cleared, road tested and told car was ok. May 31,2025 I was driving down Rt 80, pouring rain when traffic comes to a complete stop due to accident ahead. Car starts shaking, sputtering and shuts down. Same message code as always. I turned the car completely off as not to kill battery and started to goggle the RAV4. I attempted to restart the car numerous times. Called for a tow, prayed that I didn’t get killed once traffic started to move. Finally 1-1/2 hours later it started. Traffic began moving 15 minutes after I got it started. Took in for service, charged $199.61 only to be told there were no codes. Problem could not be duplicated and in the future to always disable the start/stop button while using the vehicle. October30, 2025 raining, I stopped at Panera drive thru. Placed an order waiting in line and car shuts down, same error code, couldn’t restart car for 20 minutes. Took to Toyota November 5th same response no codes and cannot replicate issue, car is ok. Please help rectify this before someone gets killed!

These warnings occur while the vehicle is in motion or parking and cause the safety features to shut off unexpectedly.

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the passenger’s side blind spot warning system located on the exterior side mirror failed to function as intended. The light flashed on the side mirror; however, the beeping sound was inaudible. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, no cause for the failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The contact stated that the failure had occurred the same month the vehicle was purchased. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20.

  We discovered severe mold contamination and water intrusion in our 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. My wife, our [XXX] child, and I have been experiencing dizziness and nausea for months whenever we were inside the vehicle, but we did not know the cause until the dealer (DLL) showed us extensive mold throughout the cabin and standing water trapped inside the vehicle. The dealer confirmed that this was not normal wear and tear. The mold has spread into the floors, interior panels, and even the steering components. This is a serious health hazard. After doing research, we found many other RAV4 Hybrid owners reporting similar water leaks and mold growth issues. This raises the concern of a potential design or sealing defect in this model. This vehicle is unsafe to drive, especially with a young child. We are requesting a full safety investigation into the water intrusion, sealing integrity, and air quality risks associated with this model.   While driving or idling, the pre-collusion, RSA malfunction, Headlight system malfunction, and LTA system malfunction will go off as well as my navigation on my screen. Its been going on and off for 7 months now. It works, then it doesn't. I don't want to take it in because I know they're famous for making me pay high dollar fees for anything and everything. Toyota is horrible for their services and just want the money. I never had any issues with my car until I got a nail in my tire that was an easy fix (that they also wanted to keep my car overnight for a patch).

  The Media system is used prevalently to navigate in cities like Dallas and can be considered a crucial part of the car. However in all Toyotas this is a defective part and often disconnects while driving making it difficult and often unsafe due to the sudden interruptions especially when you are traveling at on highways or city streets.

  Faulty instrument panel keeps going on and off. It will reset itself and then do it again like it’s trying to fix itself. But then we’ll go on and off again it’s been doing it for about six months now we’ve been putting off by telling someone because we thought it might straighten up and when we keep looking up recalls, it says there’s no recall on it.

  Vehicle: 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid Issue: Persistent brake noise, safety hazard, manufacturer negligence I leased a 2023 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid from Clermont Toyota (Florida). Well before reaching 5,000 miles, the brakes began squealing and grinding, posing a potential safety hazard. Multiple service visits failed to correct the issue. Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. and its distributor, Southeast Toyota Distributors LLC, have long been aware of this defect, as documented in Technical Service Bulletin TSB-0001-22 and numerous NHTSA consumer reports describing similar brake failures and noises in 2019–2023 RAV4 models. Despite repeated notice, Toyota refused to repair or replace the defective vehicle and denied my Lemon Law claim through an arbitration panel connected to manufacturer counsel. This unresolved brake defect creates danger to the driver, passengers, and others on the road. Toyota’s continued sale and lease of vehicles with known braking issues constitute a serious public safety concern. I request that NHTSA investigate Toyota’s knowledge of these defects, evaluate the adequacy of its response, and consider a recall to protect consumers nationwide.   When I drive this vehicle i have to be very careful. The moment you take break pedal the vehicle doesn't stop, It started shuffling and showing a warning sign of slippery road. It takes extra couple space to fully complete stop. It is summer time there is not slippery road road around. I hope they will fix this issue before it gets bad or kill someone. This is a dangerous act when you can not control your break pedal. All break pads are new this is 2023 vehicle built in June.

  I was coasting into a parking space (at 6.8 mph) and as I attempted to park, the car suddenly accelerated and went up and over the concrete rectangle park stop and smashed into a brick building (12.4 mph) and went back over the park stop before the engine in the vehicle finally died. During the acceleration, I was trying to brake the car, but the car wouldn’t stop. I was yelling to my husband that the car wouldn’t stop. The driver airbags deployed as well as the knee air bag. The passenger airbags did not deploy as there was not a passenger in the front seat. The car had 4258 miles and was totaled. My husband and I both sustained injuries. According to the Toyota app, the vehicle had a “0” rating for fast acceleration and a “1” rating for harsh braking during this particular trip. I contacted Toyota and an investigation was conducted using Bosch Crash Data Retrieval Tool 23.2.1. The data shows a 5 second timeframe with .50 second intervals. The vehicle speed at the 5 second mark was 6.8mph with 0% accelerator pedal. At 2 seconds, the speed was 5.0mph with 8.5% accelerator pedal. And, at the crash point the vehicle speed was 12.4mph with 100% accelerator pedal. Toyota product liability contacted me with their report stating that there was no brake pedal application prior to the impact and that pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal at wide open throttle seconds prior to the impact, and they found no obstructions or interference with the operation of the accelerator pedal. Further, they found the brakes to be operational However, the vehicle could not be test test driven as it would not turn on. In summary they did not find any evidence of an issue or defect with the vehicle based on inspection and electronic data.

  Backed into a mailbox on the passenger side rear taillight. Car did not detect the mailbox and give any warning to the driver. Mckinnon Toyota in Clanton Alabama advised that this vehicle is not equipped to detect a stationary object behind the vehicle. Three individuals at Toyota customer service advised that it did. R/O Number for the visit is [XXX]. The reference number from Toyota customer service is [XXX]. Car was purchased on 6/2/23. Car was purchased with the expectation that it was equipped to detect rear stationary objects when in reverse. I consider this a safety issue if it will not detect a person behind the car in reverse.   When driving, I occasionally hear a sloshing sound. After inspecting the vehicle, I realized it was coming from the rear passenger door of the RAV4. After putting down large bowls to catch the water, I pulled up on the rubber weather strip at the bottom of the rear passenger door and water gushed out. I collected over 13 cups of water out of the door. This is not an isolated incident, as it has happened before. At first I thought it was debris/a fluke that caused this water to accumulate, but after reading forums, there are multiple people out there running into the same issue. It's only ever been the rear passenger door too; none of the other doors are holding water.

  I bought a 2023 Rav4 Hybrid XLE brand new. On my first refill of the gas tank, I noticed that the gas needle would only go a smidge over the 3/4 mark. The RAV4 hybrid is supposed to have 14.5 gallons and around 540 miles per tank but I estimate it to fill around 10.5 gallons and the car shows around 413 miles per tank. I've attached two images I took when I filled up the tank, the car showed around 36 miles left to empty and it only pumped 8.8 gals.

  The passenger rear tire experienced a catastrophic tread separation failure on the highway at speed limit speed. Since this was on the freeway, loss of control could have been experienced and caused a severe incident injury to drivers in the vicinity of the incident. The problem just happened and will be inspected by an authorized dealer. There were no warnings until the tire of the incident. These tires have been rotated according to schedule and have less than 21,000 miles.

The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal, the contact turned off the vehicle, and the vehicle rolled backwards while the gear shifter was in drive(D). A dealer or independent mechanic was not contacted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle responded properly because the gear shifter was not in park(P). The approximate failure mileage was 24,500.

  The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated that while driving at 75 MPH, the vehicles front driver side tire had a blowout. Both sidewalls exploded outward. (Original Tires) No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer. The mechanic suggested that the contact had hit a pothole. The front driver-side tire was replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 895. The contact will update the complaint with the Tire information

  While driving at about 30 mph on [XXX] on Sunday, [XXX] at [XXX] the moonroof suddenly exploded. It sounded like a gunshot and startled me. I was not going under an overpass, there were no people nearby who would have thrown anything at the car, and I was not following another vehicle. I believe the glass shattered as result of mechanical defect. The moonroof was closed at the time so I was not hit with flying glass, but the situation could have been quite dangerous had the roof been open. I also think the loud sound of glass exploding could cause other motorists to jerk the wheel in shock at the loud noise. Naturally, there were shards of glass flying off my vehicle afterward, which creates something of a road hazard for anyone following behind. I have had the moonroof inspected by the Toyota dealer. They advise that glass is not covered under warranty, which is nonsense because at the least it violates the warranty of fitness for a particular purpose. But, it is hard to prove a manufacturer's defect so I will be submitting a claim through insurance. In my opnion, Toyota should cover the repair costs as I did nothing wrong and was not hit by a foreign object.   Under braking conditions and hitting a bump on a paved road, the vehicle will have a 1 to 3 second momentary loss of braking. At the same time, a grinding noise, similar to (if not the same as) the ABS system is heard, and the VSC light flashes. The occurrence of this problem is unpredictable, the severity is inconsistent. It happens across various ranges of brake pressure/deceleration rates and speeds. No accident has occurred to date with this vehicle, but we have had close calls. In some cases, our vehicle has inadvertently entered controlled intersections due to loss of braking. Dealer has inspected the problem but has been unable to replicate or resolve to date. Based on internet research, this appears to be a common problem. Very concerned this could occur at the wrong time and lead to an accident, causing injury or death due to behaviors of the vehicle's braking (and loss of) being outside the driver's control.

  I purchased a new 2023 Toyota RAV4 in March 2023, which is covered by Toyota’s 36-month/36,000-mile New Vehicle Limited Warranty. In August 2025, while the vehicle was still within warranty, a malfunction warning appeared for the pre-collision system and Road Sign Assist. The Toyota dealership diagnosed an internal failure of the forward recognition camera (DTC C1A95:00 — image processing module malfunction) and recommended replacement and calibration at a cost of approximately $2,300. Toyota denied warranty coverage despite the failure being internal to the part and occurring within the warranty period. I am seeking reimbursement for repair costs that should be covered under the manufacturer’s warranty.

  The moonroof on this vehicle shattered without warning as I was driving on the freeway. It sounded like a loud boom and when i looked up the tempered glass was falling on me and inside my 2023 Rav4. This is a huge safety issue and im not only concerned about my safety but how much glass is in my car - I take my kids to school in this car. Im going to take it to the dealership today to have them repair it - this should br a warrantied item but I have read there are multiple issues in other Rav4's.

  Sunroof glass blew out. Driving down road, no traffic, sounded like a shotgun blast. Pulled over and saw the sunroof had a hole and the rest was crystallized. Had the interior cover been pulled back we would have been showered with broken glass.

  I was driving yesterday when we suddenly heard a pop on the roof. We pulled over and noticed that the sunroof was broken, with the glass sticking outward, as if something from the inside had exploded outward. The dealership would not take ownership of the damage, therefore i had to use my insurance. upon inspection I was told that it was pressure from inside the vehicle that caused it to explode and that they have seen it before in Toyota RAV 4 models

  While starting my rav4 prime, the instrument panel (gas gauge, speedometer, battery life, etc) went black. Took it to 3 different Toyota dealers; 2 sent me away and the 3rd said I can’t drive the car anymore. Service tech said it’s the 3rd one he’s seen with the instrument cluster black in the last year! They’re still running official diagnostics on it.

  Firestone Destination LE 2. 225/65R17. Tire has exploded on highway. This is a brand new car purchased 3 weeks ago and has 1584 mile on it. Tire run only about 1575 mile. When inflated the tire again, it had multiple bubbles, ball shaped swellings.

  For over month on multiple random events, the car shuts down while traveling at hwy speeds. The car light prompt to shift the vehicle into neutral and push the start button to re start the engine. We have had the car at the dealership 4 separate occasions and they can not find the issue because it does not cause an engine light to come on when this happens. They also supposedly can not get it to duplicate so they are refusing to go any further. We have video of this occurring at 50mph. This causes lost of steering and braking. We reported this to Toyota and opened a case. They to will not pursue fixing the issue as they are not getting a trouble code. I fear this is going to cause a major accident and this poses a severe safety risk as you loose control of the vehicle

  As I was entering a covered parking structure, I came to a complete stop at the entrance of the gate to obtain my parking ticket. I was driving very slow less than 5 mph, and engaged the brakes as to stop to get my parking ticket before entering the parking garage. I have my foot on the brake pedal, I am at a complete stop of 0mph for several seconds now, and suddenly the engine revved and my car lunged forward a bit. I had not lifted my foot from the brake pedal, and yet the engine revved and my car lunged forwards. My passenger at the time yelled, WHOAA why are you pressing on the gas!!? So my passenger in the car at the time was also startled by this incident and felt the car surge forward. He thought that I had pressed on the gas pedal. If someone was to be in front of my vehicle they would have potentially been hit with my car, or if I had been closer to the parking entrance gate my car could have hit the gate. I am highly concerned this just occurred as this could cause a great accident or injury. I have 1,100 miles on the car. It was purchased brand new. Another issue I have been experiencing is when I engage the gas pedal, it does not accelerate and takes a few seconds to accelerate causing my forward momentum to stall out, this is an issue when I have been trying to merge into traffic and my car does not drive as I have anticipated. I am not sure if this is an issue with it being in "ECO" mode or not, but there is a stalled acceleration issue, that happens sometimes, but not always and I cannot pin point why it is happening at certain moments.

  The paint of the exterior body is peeling off after becoming bubble on the surface. It appears all over the body including hood, roof, doors, etc. For reference, please see attached photos. This can eventually start rusting. This has come to know only after using a car for a year and four months, which proves this needs to be addressed because it may be going to start rusting other parts of the body or structural components. Car is available for inspection, on request.

  UNKNOWN. I drove my car off the dealership lot and not even 10 minutes into my ride home, as I pulled of the highway, I noticed that the RPM of the vehicle was slowing down. I pressed down harder on the gas to get it to accelerate but it just kept jerking and slowing down. Eventually I tried to get off to the side of the road and the car stopped in the middle of two lanes. The Check Engine, Battery warning and Electric Power Steering lights all came on the dashboard. There was also another error message: Engine Stopped Steering Power Low. I called the dealership and they came and towed the car. Not sure what the issue is but saw on some forums that this has happened to other RAV4 owners on used and brand new cars as well. Someone encouraged users to report it to the NHTSA so Toyota is aware of the issue.

  While making a slow right turn into a carport (1-2 mph), the vehicle suddenly accelerated on its own and crashed into the carport wall, continued to full throttle causing the tire to skip along side of the wall. The vehicle is currently not being used as we continue with the process with our insurance provider and begin to initiate contact with the car dealer. There were no warning lights or indications of a malfunctioning vehicle prior to that point. Initial online research provided at least 10 other reports that the exact same occurence happended to other 2023 RAV owners causing vehcile and property damage. We are fearful to use this vehicle now and would like to submit a safety report to prevent any similar instances in the future that may result in serious injury or death. NOTE: We also have video footage of the incident from our carport security camera, if you need that for further review.

  In short: My car only fills up to less than 10.5 gallons on an empty tank of gas when the fuel capacity of the tank is 14.5. Toyota is aware of this issue on their RAV4 hybrids and they're not doing anything to fix this consumer issue. This is dangerous for many reasons.

  While driving early in the morning on 95 without other traffic nearby, my moonroof exploded. There was no crack of a rock, only a very loud pop. The glass broke outward. I pushed it in to vacuum the pieces out in the picture attached

  At approximately 11:30 AM on Saturday, August 5, 2023 I was traveling northbound on I-17 just before exit number 278 for State Route 179. I felt the vehicle shake violently and my wife saw a portion of a tire rolling along the side of the road into the desert. I was able to safely pull off to the shoulder, it was then that I noticed the driver side rear tire had completely separated from the rim. There were no warnings I had recently had my 5000 mile inspection/oil change performed at Right Toyota. At the time of the incident there was approximately 5355 miles on the vehicle which was purchased new in January 2023. I was luckily able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop without incident and notified Roadside Assistance.

  When I do these checks I have my hands lightly on the wheel ready to correct the car when needed. The lane control assist tends to stay to the left of the lane, crossing over the left side lane markers, it also tends to head towards the right side of the lane, crossing over the right side lane markers without compensating. At times it does compensate but it causes the car to go back and forth in the lane without settling out. There have been times when the car is steered to the right with no compensation and without my correction would have gone off the road. The lane warning system doesn't always work. If I did not have diligence when using the system I would no doubt have gone off the road and crashed. The dealer has not checked the car, they say this is how it works even on their personal Toyotas. These problems have been prominent and have existed since the purchase of the car in 2023.

  Driver side and passenger side mirror, as well as rearview mirror vibrate. Driver, side mirror, and rearview mirror are the worst with the passenger rear view mirror better than the other two. Brought into Toyota of Dothan couple of times, and they say it’s normal. This is not normal. It is a safety hazard. It started on day one that I own the car, which was July 3, 2023. There is known problems with previous models, as well as with the Lexus NX and RX models, which is based off of Toyota. This needs to be addressed and fixed. There were previous announcements made for 2019 year I believe of the RAV4, but there still is a problem with the 2023 models.

  Have had the vehicle three weeks and only drive on paved roadways. Visible chip cracked instantly during drive. Windshield seems weaker than our 2 4Runners and VW. I’ve never seen a crack instantly occur without a large rock or hail.

  Hello Respected Sir/Madam, I am the owner of a 2023 Toyota RAV4. I discovered a visible hairline crack in the windshield that originated from the lower left corner on the passenger side. The crack measured approximately 6 inches when I first noticed it in the morning and grew to approximately 12 inches by the afternoon. The windshield was not impacted by a rock, road debris, or any other object, and the vehicle was not involved in an accident. There were no visible chips or signs of external damage at the point where the crack originated. The crack appeared to develop spontaneously and continued to spread on its own. I am submitting this complaint because I am concerned that the windshield may have a manufacturing or installation defect that could affect visibility and vehicle safety.   The contact owns a 2023 Toyota Rav4. The contact stated while cleaning the vehicle, the contact became aware that there was water coming from the rear passenger’s side door. The contact opened the rear passenger’s side door, and water poured onto the ground. Additionally, the rear passenger’s side door made a sloshing sound while being closed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where Technical Service Bulletin: 0084-21 (Sloshing or Splashing Noise from Inside One or More Door Panels) was performed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 19,100.

  The vehicle's radio/ GPS navigation system shuts off and on and it is available for inspection upon request. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk because while in the middle of driving on a one-way street the radio/ GPS navigation system shut off in the middle of my trip and I was unaware of if I was going down the correct street because the navigation system completely shut off. I had almost crashed into another vehicle because the radio/GPS navigation system cut off in the middle of my turn so I was unaware of where I was supposed to be driving at the moment. The vehicle has been inspected by Toyota but has not fixed yet. There were no warning lamps but the radio/GPS navigation system did shut off a few times prior to this incident but it never occurred in a situation where I was in a time where I needed the GPS and feared for my life and the lives of others.

  Rear passenger door drain is not clearing water and is building up in door frame. Have to pull back bottom of door trim to get the water to clear
