The EQB is advertised by Mercedes of having a range of 232 to 260 miles. The actual range currently is 145 miles, far less than what Mercedes advertises. I understand winter charging decrease range but not by 38 percent. That’s not acceptable. There are 4 EV’s at my dealer today all complaining about lack of advertised range. My car has been into service three times over the last month and will be going back in soon forms fourth time. The first two times, the dealer updated EV software, resolved a battery fault and the range only gets worse. I strongly suggest the NHTSA investigate Mercedes on their false advertising and issue a recall regarding poor range. If the NHTSA needs additional information, please email me at [XXX] or call [XXX] . Thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Since new in April 2023, I have had 6 flat tires in less than 12,000 miles. Always the same failure mode: tearing by rock chips. I have been advised by the Mercedes dealer that at my own expense, I can replace the tires. The tire dealer noted that the low profile wheel/tire combination as this vehicle has as standard equipment, is subject to rock tears. This is an SUV and there is no advice to avoid gravel roads such as my own driveway. This vehicle is unreliable. I have had the same driveway since 2006 with no history of flat tires.

Mercedes built the car with a faulty battery and now they want to provide an "update" to the car that makes it worse: reduced battery life and slower charging times. So I have to choose between only charging my car to 80% or taking their update which makes my car worse. How can the NHTSA allow that to be the solution to the problem?

We were driving along a 4 lane state road and the car suddenly applied the brakes hard and swerved to the right. A light blinked on the dash with a picture of the car and a red line on the right hand side. No cars were in the next lane over and there were no issues with the roadway. I was driving straight in the line and not near the left hand side of the Lane.

I own a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 300. After the dealership performed the recall Update Battery Management System Software – Campaign 2025040005 / 25V050 / 25P5496507, my vehicle immediately experienced a significant loss of battery performance. Problems that began right after the recall update: Driving range decreased by approximately 25–30 miles. DC fast-charging speed dropped from about 100 kW before the update to a maximum of around 80 kW after the update. Vehicle was performing normally before the recall software was installed. This update appears to have negatively affected the performance, efficiency, and charging capability of the high-voltage battery. Mercedes has not yet provided an explanation or solution. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the recall update is improperly derating or limiting the high-voltage battery and whether this safety recall is causing reduced functionality for other EQB owners.

The contact owns a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB300. The contact stated that while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle lost automotive power and decelerated to 30 MPH. The contact drove the vehicle to a local charging station to recharge the battery; however, the vehicle failed to recharge. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the battery had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 5,000.

There is a reflective chrome accent on the dashboard of the EQB 300 that reflects sunlight directly into the drivers eyes when the car is oriented in certain directions at certain times of day. The light is blinding and impacts the ability of the driver to see the road and respond appropriately. I notified the dealership and Mercedes customer service, and they said there was nothing that they could do and that this was a buyer beware type situation.

In December 2024, I brought my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB to Mercedes-Benz Beverly Hills for scheduled service. They told me the vehicle had a recall and booked me for a future appointment, but I was unable to attend because I was out of town. I called the dealer multiple times afterwards to reschedule, but they never told me the reason for the recall or explained the safety risk. I recently checked my VIN myself and discovered that the recall is related to a high-voltage battery defect that may cause sudden loss of power and battery fire. I was never properly informed by Mercedes-Benz about this serious safety hazard. I rely on this vehicle to transport my two young children. This is an electric vehicle with a battery fire risk and possible loss of power at highway speeds. Mercedes-Benz has not provided a remedy, repair, loaner vehicle, or timeline. I am requesting NHTSA assistance to ensure Mercedes-Benz addresses this safety recall or provides a safe replacement or loaner vehicle until repairs are available.

  • 10/31/2025· VISIBILITY/WIPER

The rear windshield shattered spontaneously without any external impact while the vehicle was parked. Mercedes-Benz USA advised bringing the vehicle to the dealership for evaluation of a possible manufacturing defect, but the dealer replaced the glass and charged for repair. This raises a concern for potential safety defect or glass stress failure in EQB models.

  • 10/31/2025· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

On October 8, 2025 the sunroof exploded from within while driving. There was no external force involved. It sounded like a gunshot going off in the car. My wife and I looked at each other expecting to see blood, but fortunately, there was none. We were both quite shook up. Upon inspection the remaining shards of glass were pointed upward, although that is difficult to see from the pictures. Fortunately, the shade was closed so the glass shards did not fall on me or my wife. No other debris besides broken glass was found on the shade.

Mercedes performed a recall and stated the charging would increase only by 10-15 minutes. For my vehicle it is now exceeding 30-45 minutes to get to the same state of charge at a fast charger such as electrify America. Mercedes refuses to do anything about this, instead they want me to drive around with a defective battery which still has a potential to catch on fire.

  • 08/31/2026· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I am the owner of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB that has been identified as being affected by the current high-voltage battery safety recall. I recently contacted my authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer regarding the recall and was informed that the recall is currently pending for my vehicle and that the permanent remedy is not expected to begin until approximately December. I understand that the interim safety guidance associated with this recall includes limiting charging to 80% and parking the vehicle outside and away from structures. I have a significant concern regarding the parking instruction. My vehicle is normally parked in an attached garage at my condominium. The garage is connected to my residence, and my HOA does not permit me to park the vehicle outside. Therefore, I do not have a practical way to comply with the instruction to park outside and away from structures. I specifically raised this issue with the service department. I was told verbally that I could continue parking the vehicle in my garage “at my discretion.”

  • 08/29/2026· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

BATTER RECALL FIRE SAFETY: I have a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250+ affected by NHTSA safety recall 26V073. Mercedes has acknowledged that the high-voltage battery can fail internally and cause a fire. I’m instructed to charge only to 80% and park outside away from structures, and Mercedes’ latest remedy requires replacement of the entire high-voltage battery. This is already a low range vehicle and limiting to max 140 miles on interstate before having to charge 45 minutes is a nightmare. I need to drive between states for work and this is just simply not feasible after doing so for months without a solution. The first recall was March 2025 with no fix.

  • 08/27/2026· POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

The affected component is the high-voltage traction battery and related battery management and bus-bar connection systems. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am reporting a safety concern because my vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall 25V050, which identifies a risk that the high-voltage battery could fail internally and cause a fire while parked or driving. It is also subject to NHTSA Recall 25V487, which identifies a defect involving the high-voltage battery bus-bar connection that may cause a sudden loss of drive power without warning. A battery fire could endanger vehicle occupants and people or property near a parked vehicle. A sudden loss of propulsion while driving could increase the risk of a crash. I have not personally experienced a vehicle fire or a sudden loss of drive power. However, I am being asked to continue operating and making lease payments on a vehicle with identified high-voltage battery safety defects and no completed effective remedy available for my vehicle. The currently available guidance limits charging to 80%, which reduces the vehicle’s usable range and practical value. The vehicle’s recall status has been confirmed through NHTSA and Mercedes-Benz recall information. To my knowledge, no dealer repair has been completed that eliminates these safety concerns. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or an independent service center in connection with an incident because no crash, fire, or loss-of-power event has occurred. Before any failure, I have not observed a warning lamp, warning message, or other battery-related symptom. My concern is that Recall 25V487 describes a potential sudden loss of drive power without warning, and Recall 25V050 identifies a potential battery-fire risk, including while the vehicle is parked.

Vehicle: 2023 Mercedes‑Benz EQB VIN: [XXX] MBUSA Case #: XXX NHTSA Recall #: 26V073000 Mercedes‑Benz USA has mishandled recall 26V073000 (fire hazard) and left me without transportation. I was told the vehicle is unsafe to drive, which has caused significant anxiety, panic attacks, and ongoing stress because I have no safe way to commute or manage daily responsibilities. MBUSA repeatedly promised a loaner vehicle, but the dealership stated they were never contacted, had no instructions, and had no loaner available. MBUSA later said I could receive a rental car “upon eligible dealership,” but they did not specify which dealership, and after calling multiple Mercedes‑Benz locations, all confirmed they had no information, no authorization, and no process for rental reimbursement or recall support. MBUSA has provided conflicting and misleading information, failed to coordinate with dealerships, and failed to provide transportation during a fire‑hazard recall. This has caused loss of use, mental distress, and safety exposure. I request investigation into MBUSA for failure to properly administer recall 26V073000, failure to provide transportation during a safety recall, and misrepresentation of recall remedies. There is a recall associated with this model that causes catastrophic stoppage without any ability to drive. My vehicle VIN does not have a recall according to your site. Despite this, my vehicle catastrophically stopped multiple times. It was repaired at least three times and still stopped in the middle of the highway. My partner and I were stopped on I-85S with no ability to move, honk, put on hazards. Cars zoomed past at full speed. I called 911 as we braced for impact. We are lucky to be alive and now suffer from severe trauma. They eventually closed the entire highway and dragged the vehicle to the shoulder almost 30 min later. Mbusa was aware of this defect before rejecting my lemon law claim, but my vehicle was not included apparently. I feel more investigation is needed because it seems very likely my vehicle should be included in the recall. I appreciate your attention to this matter.

The battery in this car can catch fire at any time while parked. The dealership would not take the car to inspect, repair or replace the battery because there is no remedy available at this time. The recall information go back to January 2026 with no remedy or resolution available period. Instructions say I can charge it only up to 80%. I have to make adjustments to my daily routine. Instructions say I have to park it away from buildings. This car is a serious safety hazard for humans and buildings.

  • 06/15/2026· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

My 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB is included in the high-voltage battery fire recall (NHTSA campaign 26V073). The recall states the battery cells may fail internally at a high state of charge, causing an internal short circuit and a potential fire whether the vehicle is parked or being driven, with no advance warning while parked. As interim safety measures, Mercedes-Benz instructed me to limit charging to 80% and to park the vehicle outdoors, away from structures. These restrictions materially impair the vehicle's use: I cannot charge to full capacity and cannot park in my garage due to the fire risk to my home. The permanent remedy is replacement of the high-voltage battery pack. However, my Mercedes-Benz dealer has informed me that the replacement parts will not be available until 2027. That means I am being asked to operate a vehicle with an acknowledged fire risk, under charging and parking restrictions, for roughly 18 months or more, with no remedy currently available. I am requesting that NHTSA document this lack of an available remedy and the extended timeline. A delay of this length leaves owners exposed to the safety defect the recall was issued to address.

I am reporting a significant safety concern regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB. While my specific VIN has not been included in the current high-voltage battery fire risk recall (NHTSA Campaign 26V073000), my vehicle is a 2023 model that shares the identical high-voltage battery architecture, manufacturing window, and platform design as the approximately 12,000 EQB vehicles officially recalled due to an internal defect that causes sudden, unpredictable battery fires. As a vehicle owner, I am now experiencing deep, well-founded anxiety regarding the safety of this vehicle. Due to the proximity of my vehicle's design to those definitively identified as defective, I have lost confidence in the vehicle's safe operation. I can no longer park this vehicle in an enclosed garage or charge it with confidence, effectively limiting my ability to utilize the vehicle as intended. I am filing this report to formally document my concern that this safety defect may be more widespread than the current recall population suggests, posing an unreasonable risk to the safety of myself and the public.

  • 06/01/2026· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

MB recall is since Feb 2026 and they neither ready to fix it not ready to provide a proper compensation . The vehicle is currently unusable for the following reasons: 1. Safety Catch-22 (Fire vs. Theft): Due to the fire hazard associated with the current battery recall, I cannot safely charge or store the vehicle in my garage. However, the local Township Police have explicitly advised against keeping the car outside due to high theft risks in the area. Mercedes-Benz has essentially provided a vehicle that is neither safe to keep indoors nor secure to keep outdoors. 2. Home Charging Restrictions: I typically charge the vehicle at night; however, the current recall guidelines necessitate monitoring the charge to ensure it does not exceed 80%. I have no practical way to monitor this throughout the night, making home charging a safety liability. Public Infrastructure Failure: The EVgo charging network has blocked the Mercedes-Benz EQB model from their network due to these safety concerns. This further eliminates my ability to use the vehicle for standard commuting or travel. 3. Lack of Support and Loaner Access: Despite these documented safety risks, my local Mercedes-Benz dealer has refused to provide a loaner vehicle, stating they are awaiting specific instructions from corporate. This leaves me without a safe mode of transportation while I continue to pay for a vehicle I cannot use. 4. Financial Loss: I am currently paying monthly insurance premiums of approx $300, car payments of $529, and have recently invested in new tires for a vehicle (~$1200) that is sitting idle. I am incurring the full cost of ownership for a product that fails to meet basic safety and utility standards. I need NHTSA to help me here as MB is not able to honor its federal mandate

Prior to the recall this vehicle has had two incidents where it had to be brought into the dealership. One of those incidents caused the SUV to be in the shop for approx. a month where the battery was not holding a charge/could not be charged and the manufacture in Germany had to be contacted. The second time I driving out of town and the battery was fully charged (280 miles) for a 180 mile trip and by the time I arrived at my destination I had 30 miles remaining for a charge. I ran out of battery and had to be towed to another charging station because it failed to hold a charge at the station it was taken too. I informed the dealership then I did not feel safe in the vehicle and wanted to initiate a buy back. Mercedes informed me that the battery life could fluctuate depending on extreme hot or cold. The first time it was in the shop was October and the second was February approx. I reached out to the dealership when I became aware of the recall and said I wanted to be released from the lease and they stated they would look into a buy back and when the legal team contacted me the letter that was sent on May 4th stated that there was not enough repairs attempted on the vehicle to qualify. The letter did not address the open recall. When speaking to Mercedes Benz recall department they did admit that there is no remedy anticipated for the open recall. I have attempted to reach out and not received an answer to discuss options from Mercedes. They have ceased communicating with me about options I have connected to the recall.

I received an Important Safety Recall notice (NHTSA Recall ID: 26V073) from Mercedes-Benz USA in March 2026 regarding my 2024 EQB (VIN: [XXX] ). The notice states that the high-voltage battery may fail due to an internal short circuit, potentially causing a vehicle fire while parked or driving. No incident has occurred. This complaint is filed because no remedy is available and no timeline has been provided by the manufacturer. Mercedes-Benz has advised owners to limit charging to 80% and to park outside while awaiting battery replacement parts. This interim guidance creates an additional hardship: my vehicle is garaged in ZIP code 98119 (Seattle, WA), where property crime is documented at over 50% above the national average. The manufacturer's guidance forces me to expose a $55,000+ vehicle to elevated theft and vandalism risk indefinitely, through no fault of my own. I am requesting NHTSA pressure Mercedes-Benz to accelerate parts availability and provide affected owners with a loaner vehicle or covered parking reimbursement until the remedy is performed. On February 3, 2025, a recall (NHTSA Recall No. 25V050 / Manufacturer Recall No. 2025040005) was issued for my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250+ due to a defect involving the high-voltage battery that may cause a fire. I brought the vehicle to the dealership shortly after the recall was announced. The service department informed me that no remedy is currently available and they do not have a timeline for when one will be. This unresolved recall places my safety—and the safety of others—at risk, as the vehicle could potentially catch fire without warning. Despite contacting the dealership and waiting several months, I have received no updates, no repairs, and no temporary accommodations. The vehicle has not shown specific warning lights or messages, but the issue is acknowledged by the manufacturer as a fire risk. The problem has not been repaired, and I am left with a vehicle that is potentially unsafe to drive. I am requesting a formal investigation and resolution, including the option of a vehicle buyback.

I am requesting that my 2023 Mercedes‑Benz EQB be added to the recall associated with high‑voltage battery safety issues. My vehicle is exhibiting the same symptoms described in NHTSA Recall No. 26V073000, but my VIN is not currently included. I was instructed not to fully charge the vehicle and warned that it may pose a fire hazard if parked inside my garage. These warnings indicate a serious safety defect involving the high‑voltage battery system. The vehicle cannot be safely stored at my residence, and its normal operation is substantially impaired. The safety risk is significant: the vehicle may overheat or catch fire during charging or while parked. This creates a danger to occupants, nearby structures, and the public. The problem has been acknowledged by the manufacturer in communications but no permanent repair is available. The symptoms and restrictions match those described in the existing recall. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate and determine whether my vehicle should be added to the affected VIN list, as it appears to suffer from the same high‑voltage battery defect and presents the same safety hazards.

Dear Sir or Madam, Good day. I purchased a New 2023 Mercedes EQB [XXX] from a Dealership in Florida less than 2 years ago. This VIN is associated with NHTSA Recall 2025020001 25V050 Electrical System Battery Fire Risk dated February 3rd 2025. This recall is due to multiple cars spontaneously catching on fire. No cause has been identified or ruled out. Vehicle was previously serviced multiple times for Charging related issues. I spoke to the Dealership about this recall informally. They recommended against charging the car indoors. They said the part for the Recall was not yet available. While the Manufacturer recommends limiting charging in anticipation of a Remedy, no Remedy is available. They plan on providing a software patch, this could very well could be a hardware issue requiring hardware replacement. Having a recall with No Remedy for months puts this car out-of-service. Having a recall with No Remedy for months is a nonconformity. Only being able to charge to 80% is a nonconformity. Car has been out of service for months. The risk is simply too great to charge the car, store the car inside my home, or drive the car. I reached out to the Manufacturer under the Florida Lemon Law (attached) as this has exceeded a reasonable amount of time for a critical life safety repair. Thank you. • 05/11/2026· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

I received an official recall notice from Mercedes-Benz regarding my EQB due to a defect involving the high-voltage battery system. According to the recall notice, the battery may experience an internal failure that could potentially result in a fire while the vehicle is either parked or being driven. Mercedes-Benz has also advised owners to limit charging and park the vehicle outside due to the severity of the safety risk. At this time, Mercedes-Benz has not provided a permanent repair remedy or battery replacement. Because I no longer feel safe driving or storing the vehicle, I have left it at the dealership and am currently using a loaner vehicle while attempting to reach a fair and reasonable resolution with Mercedes-Benz. Given the serious safety concerns associated with this recall and the lack of an available repair, I do not believe the current offer being presented by Mercedes-Benz adequately resolves the situation. During my first conversation with Mercedes, I was clearly told that I had two options: trade into another lease or have Mercedes repurchase the vehicle at no cost to me. At no point during that initial conversation was I told that repurchase was unlikely or subject to higher-level approval. $7,500 does not address the core issue, which is that I am still left in a lease for a vehicle I do not feel safe driving or storing. This is fundamentally a safety and usability issue, not simply a financial inconvenience. I am simply asking Mercedes to stand behind its product and provide a reasonable resolution for a leased vehicle that has been deemed subject to a serious fire-risk recall without a current repair remedy.

Compounded Electrical Failures In addition to the battery defect, this specific vehicle has exhibited recurring electrical malfunctions, including: Total failure of the backup cameras and parking sensors. Intermittent failure of the HVAC system (Air Conditioning), critical in the Florida climate. Erratic Autonomous Braking: The vehicle has repeatedly engaged emergency braking while reversing without cause, nearly resulting in multiple collisions. Diminished Utility and Breach of Lease Expectations The "interim" instructions provided by Mercedes-Benz have fundamentally altered the vehicle’s functionality from the terms established at the start of my lease: Charge Limitation: The "MUST NOT exceed 80%" mandate reduces the vehicle's range and utility, failing to meet the deliverable of a fully functional EV. Parking Restrictions: The requirement to park outside for fear of a garage fire is an unreasonable burden that violates the expected use of a luxury vehicle. Failure to Remedy within a Reasonable Time (49 U.S.C. § 30120) Under the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, specifically 49 U.S.C. § 30120(c)(2), a manufacturer’s failure to remedy a defect within 60 days of a vehicle being presented or a notice being issued constitutes prima facie evidence of a failure to remedy within a reasonable time. The notice for Recall 26V073 was issued in March 2026. As of today, May 11, 2026, more than 60 days have passed without an actionable remedy or a definitive timeline for repair. There have been ZERO warnings or indications of the above mentioned.

My 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQB has an unresolved recall (25V487000) issued July 25, 2025 — nearly 10 months ago — with status still listed as remedy not yet available. The recall is classified as URGENT: FIRE RISK WHEN PARKED on NHTSA's website for my specific vehicle. On May 6-7, 2026 I contacted Mercedes customer service three times and received conflicting safety guidance. Agent 1 told me charging above 80% was acceptable and did not advise outdoor parking. Agent 2 (appointed by a manager) told me to restrict charging and park outside immediately, and escalated to buyback team. Agent 3 called back and said Agent 2 made a mistake and that no restrictions apply. My only available parking is an enclosed residential garage. I have a newborn due any day. Mercedes has failed to provide consistent written safety guidance despite an active federal fire risk classification on my vehicle. I have sent written correspondence to Mercedes Financial Services requesting clarification.

Dear NHTSA Safety Team, I am submitting a formal safety-related complaint regarding my 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250, which is currently under an active high-voltage battery recall. The recall imposes significant safety restrictions, including an 80% charging limit, a requirement to park the vehicle outside due to fire risk, and the inability to safely charge the vehicle at home. Additionally, I have been advised by my dealership that DC fast charging should not be used, further limiting the vehicle’s usability. Mercedes-Benz has informed me that the remedy requires a full high-voltage battery replacement, which may take many months (until at least December). In the meantime, the vehicle is not usable as a daily vehicle due to the combined safety and charging restrictions. I have attempted to work with Mercedes-Benz USA to obtain an appropriate remedy for this loss of use, but I have been told that only minimal options are available, and my request for executive-level review has been denied. I am requesting NHTSA’s assistance in reviewing this matter as a safety-related loss-of-use issue. The current restrictions materially affect my ability to safely operate and maintain the vehicle. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

This complaint documents three deficiencies in Mercedes-Benz's recall response for recalls 25V487 and 26V073. First, the BMS software update applied under 25V050 reduced my vehicle's range by approximately 20% and degraded charging performance without adequate disclosure to owners. Second, Mercedes-Benz delayed notification to U.S. owners after fires occurred in already-remediated vehicles in Europe in November 2025. Third, interim measures are inadequate, now confirmed by EVgo independently restricting affected vehicles from their DC fast charging network. A detailed complaint document is attached. Recall numbers 25V487 and 26V073. VIN [XXX] . INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I am the owner/lessee of a 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 250+ (VIN: [XXX] ) affected by NHTSA safety recall 26V073 — a high-voltage battery fire risk defect that has failed three separate repair attempts. I am filing this complaint to document Mercedes-Benz USA’s failure to provide an adequate remedy under federal recall regulations. Background: Recall 26V073 was issued three separate times — first as recall 25V050 then 25V894 and finally 26V073. Each prior software remedy failed to resolve the underlying battery defect. Mercedes-Benz has now determined a full battery replacement is required. As of today no replacement battery is available for my specific vehicle VIN [XXX] . Current Situation: As a result of this unresolved recall I have been required to: • Park my vehicle outside and away from structures at all times • Restrict charging to a maximum of 80% capacity • Operate a fire risk vehicle for several months with no remedy available • Absorb $3,000 in home EV charger installation costs now largely unusable due to charging restrictions • Continue paying $22,000 in remaining lease obligations on a vehicle I cannot safely use Federal Compliance Failure: Under 49 CFR 573 Mercedes-Benz USA is required to provide affected owners with a free remedy within a reasonable timeframe. Mercedes-Benz USA has: • Failed to provide a repair — no remedy currently available • Formally declined to repurchase the vehicle • Offered $8,000 in goodwill compensation which does not constitute a remedy under federal recall regulations • Instructed my dealer Crown Eurocars in Pinellas Park Florida not to provide a loaner vehicle or storage assistance despite promising both in a written offer dated April 20 2026 Additional Bad Faith: Mercedes-Benz USA communicated a false claim to MBFS executive resolution team member Caroline stating that I had requested no further contact. I never made this request. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The battery has a fire hazard

  • 04/21/2026· UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE

COMPONENT/SYSTEM: High-voltage battery system (traction battery). The vehicle is subject to a manufacturer recall for risk of internal short circuit and potential thermal event. The vehicle and battery are available for inspection upon request. SAFETY RISK: According to the manufacturer and dealer, the defect presents a risk of battery fire, including while the vehicle is parked and not in operation. As a result, the manufacturer has instructed safety precautions, including limiting charging to no more than 80% and parking the vehicle outdoors and away from structures. These precautions materially limit driving range and require the vehicle to be parked away from the residence, which increases risk exposure to occupants, visitors, and surrounding property. REPRODUCTION/CONFIRMATION: The defect has been confirmed by the manufacturer through a formal recall applicable to this vehicle. The dealer has acknowledged the recall and the associated safety instructions. INSPECTIONS: There has been no individualized inspection specific to this vehicle because the issue is a known, manufacturer-identified defect affecting recalled vehicles of this model. The condition and risk have been acknowledged by both the manufacturer and dealer. WARNINGS/SYMPTOMS: There were no prior warning lights, messages, or observable symptoms before receiving notice of the recall. The safety issue was not detectable to the driver absent the manufacturer’s notification. REPAIR STATUS/TIMING: The manufacturer has advised that replacement batteries are not expected to be available for several months (estimated beginning December 2026 or later). In the interim, the vehicle must continue to be operated under the above safety restrictions, while customer must still bear the known, significant risk of fire until then.

Subject: Safety Complaint – 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB (Active Recall) Reference: CMS Case #XXX Vehicle: 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB VIN: [XXX] I am filing a safety complaint regarding an active recall on my vehicle and the lack of a clear, safe resolution. The vehicle is currently under an active safety recall, and we have been advised it may not be safe to operate under certain conditions. At the same time, the dealership has informed us that the vehicle cannot be traded in due to the recall. This has left us in a position where: * We may not be able to safely drive the vehicle * We cannot trade or dispose of the vehicle * We have not been given clear guidance on safe use or storage Mercedes-Benz USA (CMS Case #21602523) has declined a repurchase and offered only partial goodwill compensation without providing a clear, actionable solution. We are concerned that consumers are being left with a vehicle that may be unsafe to operate and cannot be reasonably removed from service. We are requesting review and guidance on: 1. Whether the vehicle is safe to operate 2. Manufacturer responsibility in resolving recall-related limitations 3. Consumer protections in situations where a recalled vehicle cannot be used or traded This situation creates safety, liability, and consumer protection concerns, especially as we must leave the vehicle unattended while traveling internationally.
