  • 12/16/2024· SUSPENSION,POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

This vehicle has been making a noise in the front left side since new (day one). The vehicle has been taken to the dealership about 10 times in attempt to fix this issue. During the last service, the dealership performed multiple tests and concluded that the noise source is the engine motor mounts. If they disconnect the electrical plug of the motor mounts all the noises are gone. Consequently, they proceeded to replace the left front motor mount but unfortunately the noise is still there and concluded that there is no fix available right now. They understand that Jeep needs to redesign the motor mounts and update the software the controls the engine motor mounts. I know a few owners of the same vehicle that have the same issue. Jeep knows about it but doesn't do anything to redesign these parts in order to correct the design flaw. I can provide copy of the communications with Jeep if required.

  • 12/08/2025· STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the defrost system became inoperable. The contact stated that the system functioned intermittently during warmer weather; however, in colder temperatures, the defroster failed to operate. The contact was concerned that the failure could affect visibility, creating a potential hazard while driving, and posing a risk to other drivers. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

  • 11/25/2025· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Since I bought the vehicle in February 2025 I have reported the infotainment screen failure/ going black while driving. I immediately reported it to my salesman and had it assessed by my local dealership as well about it. They told me it was up to date and they could not find any codes and sent me on my way. Shortly after I realized the auto start/stop wouldn't engage and I also encountered a random subwoofer boom upon starting my vehicle at times. The electrical issue has been known by Jeep for some time as there was a technical service bulletin that circulated regarding these issues and there are numerous other issues that were reported as well on this bulletin. Bringing you to my recent experience was after bringing my jeep in twice after my purchase (when also under warranty) to address these electrical issues I was always told no codes, jeep is fine. It continued to be a problem but subwoofer got worse. Last week I tried to remote start my car and it just flashed rear lights and didn't start. It was completely dead. I was able to jump start it and got it to the dealership and they said it was the battery and replaced the battery. I had JUST had a new battery installed upon purchase in Feb 2025. Brought it home, same thing, it died. I noticed dash light going on and off and a chirping sound before it died again. Brought it back in. They say it was the door switch that's faulty. It's obviously an electrical issue and it will leave me stranded or others stranded. This is a safety hazard as it causes loss of display, loss of emergency calling, distraction, battery drain and unpredictable electrical behavior.

Malfunction of the Steering Column Control Module causing a disconnect with all associated components such as causing wipers to run continuously on max, and all listed functions stopped working including; SOS, Jeep Assist, blind spot, high & low beams, brake lights, turn signals, lane assist, horn, rear wiper, windshield washer fluid, airbag deployment, infotainment system, etc. Vehicle is currently at the Dealership in Delmont, PA and is available for inspection. This is a significant safety concern to myself and other drivers due a visibility issue with wipers on a continuous cycle, headlights and brake lights not functioning as intended, unable to use turn signals, airbags will not deployment in the event of an accident, among other safety related issues. The vehicle has been inspected for this specific issue at the Dealership December 21, 2023 and November 11-17, 2025, and was temporarily resolved with a software update. 24 hours later, on 11/18, the same issue reoccurred and is back at the Dealership with no update on a permanent solution. There are no warnings or symptoms prior to the failure of the SCCM. This issue first occurred 12/21/2023 with only 3,439 miles one it. The vehicle currently has 32,091 miles. • 11/06/2025· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Bought vehicle and reviewing safety features the next day I realized the Forward Collision Warning light was on because it was malfunctioning and not just turned off. Same with the AEB light. Then Active Lane Management came on as did ACC. This is a concern since they are all safety features. Took it to dealership and they unhooked battery to try and make the windshield spray work. After that all safety warning lights came on. Dealer has had it for 2 weeks and still cant figure issue. Looking online it apprears this is a major safety that happens to a lot of these vehicles.

  • 11/04/2025· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Every time the vehicle starts, the driver dash display and radio display reset to a language I do not speak or understand (Italian). The paddle shifter is inoperative (with no option to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement changes to celsius, and numerous other settings reset as well. This is a dangerous situation. I don't understand the meaning of warning messages on the driver display because they are in Italian. It is difficult change the settings because the menus are in Italian. Plus, even if I change them, they all reset the next time the vehicle is started. I have taken it to the dealer numerous times. The dealer says there is nothing they can do and it can only be corrected with a software update that is not yet available.

Upon inspection, the contact noticed flames were emitting from the brake caliper assembly, and the brake rotor was red on the front passenger-side tire. The contact used a giant water bottle to extinguish the flames. The contact, her mother, and her daughter were not injured.  The insurance company was contacted, and the contact requested a tow truck. However, the contact called roadside assistance. The driver, from roadside assistance, disconnected an unknown wire from the brake caliper. When the vehicle was restarted, the parking brake lever was engaged but failed to function as intended, and the ABS warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to drive very slowly and took the vehicle to a family member's residence. The contact noticed that smoke was emitting from the front driver-side tire. The contact took the vehicle to Pep Boys, where it was diagnosed that the front brake calipers failed. However, the mechanic refused to repair the vehicle. The contact called the insurance company to have the vehicle towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the power brake booster was faulty, the vehicle had no brakes, the hydraulic control unit failed to build pressure, and an unknown internal leak was found. And the hydraulic brake system had a leak; the left front wheel had caught on fire, which caused damage to the left front brake caliper, the rotor pads, and the brake hose, and the rear rotors were glazed.  The contact was informed that the brake booster, ABS module, brake caliper, brake line, gaskets, front brake pads, front rotors, rear brake pads, rear rotors, and adapter plate needed to be replaced. The DTC codes the diagnostic showed were C0050-00, which indicated a malfunction in the right rear wheel speed sensor circuit. The vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. And advised the contact that a field inspector would be sent to inspect the vehicle. However, the contact was awaiting the results. The failure mileage was 59,647.

  • 09/06/2025· UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

While making a left turn into a busy intersection with a green arrow signal, my car applied emergency braking, slamming all of us in the car forward, locked up tires, in the middle of the intersection, with a car right behind me! I have no idea how we were not rear ended! There was absolutely no reason for the braking and it was very scary, sending my daughter into tears. We were able to continue driving after a few seconds sitting in the intersection in shock. My head immediately hurt and wasn’t sure really what happened but the slam was intense like a collision. This is very scary, and dangerous! If this had happened on a hwy or at a faster speed could have caused a serious accident, which I am now reading has happened to other Jeep owners.

  • 09/05/2026· SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit unexpectedly applied the brakes while traveling approximately 78 mph with Adaptive Cruise Control engaged. There was no vehicle, object, or obstruction directly ahead. The forward collision/ACC warning activated immediately before the vehicle braked. At approximately the same time, the driver had touched the power lumbar button to disengage the lumbar. The lumbar had independently activated approximately 15–20 minutes earlier. Not sure if the 2 are related or if the is just coincidental?

  • 09/01/2025· SUSPENSION

I own a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. On August 18, 2025, the rear suspension coil detached and fell off in my driveway. I had the vehicle repaired at an authorized Jeep dealership. However, on **August 31, 2025 — just 13 days later — the exact same coil spring detached again, this time while I was driving at freeway speeds. This is a severe safety hazard that could have caused a catastrophic accident. The defect is identical to NHTSA Recall No. 23V413000 (Chrysler Recall 64A), which addresses rear coil springs detaching while driving. Despite my vehicle being the same year, make, and model as those included in the recall, my VIN is not currently covered. Given that the defect has now occurred twice on my vehicle, including immediately after a dealer repair, I strongly believe this safety recall should be expanded to include additional VINs, including mine.

This is in regards to my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, the rear coil spring has detached from its position while the vehicle was in park. So i asked her why did the spring coil detached while in park if the issue was completed. same as other owners that has similar issues on the recall that i have read on complaints. can you please look into this as this could result in serious accident. there is a recall on this issue but my vehicle VIN # was not on the list of the recall. • 08/21/2025· SERVICE BRAKES

On July 16, 2025, at approximately 6:10 PM, I was driving home on the highway at around 65 mph when I attempted to brake. The brake pedal went completely to the floor, and no braking occurred. At the same time, the following warning lights and messages suddenly appeared on the dashboard: - “Service Park Brake” - “Service ABS” - “Service Electronic Stability Control” - “Auto Hold Unavailable” - “4WD System Temporarily Unavailable” I was able to maneuver the vehicle into the emergency lane without colliding with other vehicles or causing a high-speed rear-end accident. The vehicle came to a gradual stop but would not restart afterward. This failure occurred without any prior warning and posed a serious risk to my safety and the safety of others on the road. I do not know how an accident was avoided, as the failure was sudden and could have resulted in a tragedy. The vehicle is a 2-year-old Jeep, with approximately 36,000 miles, and has been regularly serviced by Jeep, most recently about one month prior to the incident. After the incident, I had the vehicle inspected by a Jeep dealership, which confirmed the failure and identified a defective brake control module as the root cause. The component is available for inspection upon request.

There were no impediments on the roadway which might have reasonably caused the brakes to activate.

  • 08/13/2025· SEATS

The lumbar support airbags are over inflating on their own both the driver and passenger seats. To the point that it alters your seat position making it uncomfortable and dangerous for driving as there are times that it won’t go back down and positions you in an unnatural way. The passenger side one is so over inflated that it feels as if it could pop at any moment. It has inflated so much that it appears to have caused permanent damage to the seat by stretching the leather and padding. The stitching is coming apart and even when deflated some (won’t deflate all the way) it still sticks out from being stretched. I worry it could burst while driving causing injury or an accident. The car is only 2 years old. It is available for inspection at this time. It has not been to a dealer yet for diagnosis nor repair. It’s reproducible but only when it does it which happens to be more frequently and now also starting to be permanent. There are no warning lights or messages. It first started in the driver seat a couple months ago. The passenger more recently.

I was driving on the NYS thru way with my family and my rear suspension coil came out while we were driving. The part was not rusted or looked defected. When I took it to the dealership they said a recall for this issue had been repaired in June of 2023 prior to me owning it. I purchased the vehicle on October of 2024. I called corporate and they said there is nothing they will do for me. I paid $500 to fix an issue that should have been completed properly. This is now a safety concern for me and I fear driving it will happen again.

  • 07/29/2026· SEATS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

I am experiencing two serious issues with my Jeep that have raised significant safety concerns. First, the front passenger seat's lumbar bladder repeatedly inflates on its own, making the seat extremely uncomfortable and causing severe back pain for anyone sitting in it. I have been informed that this is a known issue affecting many Jeeps of this model. The dealership previously deflated the lumbar bladder under warranty, but now the problem has returned. I was told I must pay for the repair out of pocket because the previous deflation supposedly voided or disqualified the warranty coverage. I do not believe I should be responsible for paying to fix a recurring defect that was previously addressed under warranty. Second, the Electronic Brake System (EBS) warning light comes on randomly, and when it does, my vehicle unexpectedly slows down or comes to a stop. This creates an extremely dangerous situation while driving. I have been fortunate to avoid a collision so far, but I am very concerned for my safety and the safety of my four children, who regularly ride in the vehicle with me. I am requesting that these issues be thoroughly investigated and repaired at no cost to me, as they involve recurring defects and serious safety risks. I also request a written explanation of why my warranty claim for the recurring seat defect was denied after the dealership's previous repair.

This vehicle had a recall for rear tire suspension popping off the vehicle. While my vehicle was parked in my driveway the rear suspension coil popped off the rear of my vehicle as described in the recall. I then took the vehicle to the dealership they first gave me the run around for a couple of days then when they could not explain why the diagnostic test came back as failure for unknown reasons I argued that they had nothing else to relate the issue to as there was no signs of anything else. After days of back and forth they finally agreed to fix it under the recall. Upon receiving the vehicle back they refused to give me any paperwork or reciept for the incident and stated they would email it it to me. I never received anything. Also when I went under the vehicle to check the work done I can see they replaced it with the original type of parts and did not give me updated parts like they claim they did. Again I have no paperwork to show what they did.

Right passenger side rear coil spring ejected from vehicle pull into parking space a loud booming sound from rear of vehicle

  • 07/23/2026· SUSPENSION

The coil spring on the rear passenger side has become detached from my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited. I was unaware that it had happened when I started to drive and could hear something kind of bouncing around. When I got out of the vehicle to see what was going on, I could see that the rear of the car seemed unusually low. That is when I looked under and saw the spring dangling next to the tire. It could've caused a bad accident if it had gotten caught up in the tire or if it had completely detached and either hit another car or caused another car to hit it. The vehicle had a recall for this in 2023, before I owned it, and the status says "inspected" but not repaired. There was another recall early in 2026 for this same issue, but at this time, my vehicle is not part of that recall. However, it should be as this is a dangerous, scary issue that isn't immediately evident. I'm just grateful that I was in my neighborhood when it happened and not driving on the interstate at a high rate of speed, as there was nothing to indicate that it was imminently happening. It hasn't been inspected yet as it just happened but I will have it towed tomorrow to get inspected and repaired. It is underivable in its current condition.

The starter/starter solenoid and related engine oil sealing have failed three times. Most recently on 6/18/2026, and previously in 2024 and 2025, the vehicle would not start: the dashboard illuminated but the engine would not crank. The engine then began smoking and a burning electrical smell entered the cabin. My wife and young child were in the vehicle. The vehicle was rendered completely inoperable and had to be towed each time. Safety risk: an engine that smokes and emits a burning electrical odor upon attempted starting presents a fire hazard to occupants. On the most recent occurrence the failure happened at a fuel station with my family present, over 1,000 miles from home, stranding us for seven days. Dealer confirmation: yes. On the two prior occasions a franchise dealer diagnosed a defective starter solenoid and replaced the starter. Both repairs failed and the identical failure recurred. On the most recent occurrence, a different franchise dealer found that a plug sealing an unused opening on the engine block was missing, allowing engine oil to spray onto and saturate the starter, destroying it. The starter and the plug were replaced. All failures were documented on dealer repair orders, which are available on request. Inspection: the vehicle has been inspected and repaired by franchise dealers on all three occasions. No police or insurance inspection. The manufacturer has been notified through its customer care department, which has open case records on this vehicle. Warning indicators: none. There were no warning lamps, messages, or symptoms prior to any of the three failures. The vehicle simply would not crank, followed by smoke and a burning electrical smell. This vehicle has spent approximately 60 days out of service since purchase and has had persistent electrical problems documented since 2023. Despite repeated dealer repairs the same failure mode continues to recur. I am reporting this as an unaddressed safety defect.

The rear right coil spring and is available for inspection upon request. Spring failed while car was parked in driveway on flat ground, the car was driven with me and my 1 year old at highway speeds of 75mph. No warnings were displayed on dashboard. Never received an update of a recall and will not pull up when VIN is searched. Upon VIN search on MOPAR website original recall repair was done in 2023 which has failed. We did not know of this spring failure until arriving home and seeing it lie where I was parked. Earlier in the day a loud metal noise was heard but figured it came from passing traffic on highway. No one has inspected the vehicle yet, working on trying to get it towed since it is no longer safe to drive. Vehicles rear right tire is now pitched in at top towards rear wheel well. No warning or message was alerted to me.

Our rear passenger spring coil flew off while driving down the HWY going 71miles per hr. We didn’t hit anything in road or pit hole, we were just driving and heard a loud pop and felt the back end drop. We immediately pulled over and checked the tires , tires were fine but the rear of our jeep was lower than normal. We were less than an 8th of a mile from an exit so we got off HWY and jacked the car up and the spring was completely missing just a rubber boot remained on passenger side.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated on its own. As a result, the contact briefly lost control of the vehicle and collided with the rear of the vehicle ahead. The vehicle then continued to accelerate, pushing the other vehicle forward, only coming to a complete stop after the contact was able to shift the gear selector out of the drive position. The air bags did not deploy. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. A police report was filed with no injuries reported. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 15,200.

While driving, the vehicle displayed a "Service Shifter" warning with no prior warning lamps or symptoms. The transmission then dropped out of Drive into Neutral on its own while the vehicle was moving, causing it to roll before the vehicle automatically shifted itself into Park and applied the parking brake. The vehicle could be shifted back into Drive but repeatedly slipped out of gear into Neutral again within about a minute each time. After parking, the gear indicator display (P/R/N/D) stopped illuminating entirely and has not returned. The vehicle is now unresponsive to the rotary shifter and is stuck in Park with no way to shift into any gear. This failure matches the description of open recall 30D (shifter module software defect causing loss of transmission gear position display), though my vehicle was not part of the currently identified population when checked against the VIN lookup. The vehicle is currently undriveable and has not yet been inspected by a dealer or independent shop.

This car is factory equipped with Continential Cross Contact tires that wear on the inside on all 4 tires, specifically the inner tread lugs caused by the Jeep self adjusting air ride suspension. This a safety hazard from multiple manufacturing defects and suspension problems that affecting traction and handling. Tires are worn to 0 depth on the inside at 15,000 miles and this wear is hidden from the consumer since it is only on the very inside of the tire. The car was in alignment at all times and confirmed with an alignment check at 15,000 miles.

The rear passenger side suspension coil fell out of my car in my driveway at less then 2 mph. The spring and rubber piece holding the spring in both fell to the ground with no damage done. The vehicle was towed to a jeep dealership where they confirmed there was no damage to any part of the vehicle, and it just fell out with no explanation. The dealer insists that we cannot reinstall the same sping, even though there is no damage to the vehicle or spring. If this would have happened at highway speeds, it could have been very dangerous for me or others around me. The dealer is currently making the repairs, but at my cost. There is currently a recall for this exact issue for my make/model/trim but for vehicles produced earlier in the year of 2023 (my vehicle is not covered). There was no warning lamps, messages or any symptoms of any failure prior to the spring falling from the vehicle.

Generally, for the entire time we've owned the car, it has ongoing and systemic electronics malfunctions. This ranges from the car slamming on its own brakes while driving to systems not working to the seat shifting on its own while driving to false positives in the NAV system, etc. A lot of the malfunctions are funny, some are dangerous, but the common thread is that in spite of months in repair and countless supposed repairs by dealerships, the problems continue. And, yes, some of these absolutely put safety at risk (slamming on the brakes for no reason, false positives on detecting objects in road, seat moving during vehicle operation, speedometer ceasing to work, etc). Chrysler has confirmed and acknowledged these problems in the form of various settlements in spite of our requests for a buyback, offering us money, but leaving us saddled with the lemon. What I'm complaining here about, however, is that for the second time the vehicle has apparently caught fire in the engine when started from being off. The first time, it was supposedly fixed by replacing a sensor, but it did it again today, stranding my wife and young son in a parking lot. This car is a death trap and will, sooner or later, hurt or kill someone.
