  within 24 hours or purchasing this brand new truck (5 miles on it) sensor issues began and slowly escalated from a service door latch system error to auto braking engagement for absolutely no reason at 35-40 mph and side mirror warning sensors turning and staying on causing all windows not to move. There have been other issues as well however those are the most alarming as they directly effect the safety of the driver and passengers and the inappropriate auto braking engagement could cause injury or death to the trucks occupants as well as drivers around them. This problem is discussed widely on Chevy Colorado forums as many owners are experiencing with the 2023! The truck has been in the dealership with attempts to repair 4 times, the third attempt took a month and within 2 hours of pickup it started again. 4th attempt, 20 mins after pickup auto collision system was going off as usual. Now I have errors on the dash to service the driver assist system and the side warning mirror lights no longer work. Someone is going to get killed. There are forum conversations where people are driving on the highway going 80 and the brakes engaged for no reason. GM is well aware of all of the issues with my vehicle as I have been in communication as well as the dealership. The dealership told me another person bought a similar truck and had / has the same problem. GM refuses to purchase this truck back even though they know this is unsafe and want me to continue to try to have it fixed. I have a ton of documents to support this but when I click to upload nothing happens to allow files to be attached. I'm more than happy to share them, they include repair orders, conversation with the dealer and GM, screen shots of errors etc. One document includes a text message from the dealer stating there is a bunch (I know it to be 2 pages) of history of lost communication code errors that would have occurred at the manufacturer yet they released it for sale anyway

  After completing a right turn with a right turn signal, the vehicle will sometimes signal a left turn for 3 blinks. I believe this is because the turn signal stalk 'bounces' down to the left turn signal area when returning back to normal position from a right turn.​ ​ This is a safety issue because the vehicle is signaling a left turn when no turn is intended. This could cause confusion to other drivers on the road.​ I have taken it to my dealer who attempted 3 times to fix with no success. It's a common issue that GM has not addressed for a long time now.

  Vehicle: 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab 4WD, VIN: [XXX] , mileage: 52,877. Recurrent failure in the cooling system and engine/transmission, affecting safety and use. Check Engine Light comes on and off intermittently, code P30C5 (Coolant Flow Low). The coolant pump was replaced under warranty on March 20, 2025, at Leson Chevrolet (Harvey, LA) with 26,621 miles (attached invoice), but the same issue persists 9 months later with "Engine and Transmission System" alert in myChevrolet app. This is the 5th failed repair for the same defect since purchase (August 2023). Previous repairs include transmission wiring/sensor (January 2024) and Traction Control/ABS (December 2023). The vehicle is unsafe for daily 100-mile commute.   Forward collision braking activated for no reason and will hard brake. Has done it in the middle of an empty parking lot as well as when driving 65 MPH down the highway, twice. No major injuries happened either time other then sore necks and seatbelt marks. On 2 incidents only the driver was in the vehicle, the other incident consisted of the driver, front seat passenger and 2 children in the back seat. The vehicle has been inspected by dealership. The vehicle now has brake and router problems, which the dealership has said is from hard braking. The vehicle has a bad vibration when applying the brakes.

  1. Other: Turn signal - when turning right with the signal activated, once you straighten the wheel, the turn signal stalk will reset to the middle but will activate the left turn signal. 2. Adaptive cruise control - For no reason the brakes will activate, there is no vehicle in front and the windshield is clean. 3. Blind spot warning - These BSW indicators will go off at random with no vehicles beside mine. This occurs more at night, but does happen during the day. When this happens at night the yellow indicator is so bright that you cannot even see what might (or is not) in your blind spot. This faulty indicator is going to get someone hurt as other drivers with the same issue might over correct.

  While driving the blindside indicators will come on when nothing is there. The window switches and door lock button on the driver side door will not work when the blindside indicators are on. Also the light on the door lock button turns on and off randomly when the indicators are on with nothing there. The doorlock button on the front driver side door didn't work when the truck was in park. Haven't noticed if the windows and doorlock button don't work when the indicators are not on. Andriod Auto wouldn't connect wireless and has been till now.

  When you have your foot on the break engine running within about 5 mins the breaks release for a second all the light on the dashboard kick on then the breaks feel spongy, you have to then turn the truck off the computer resets check engine light will still remain but the breaks will now be functional again. When taking it to the dealer they stated there was a software recall and they reset the light called it a day.

  On [XXX], I discovered that the backup camera on my 2023 Chevy Colorado was malfunctioning. Regardless of whether I was operating the vehicle in reverse or manually activating the backup camera, it remained inoperable. On the same day, I made a reservation with my local Chevrolet dealership in Elko, Nevada, to have the backup camera inspected. I took the truck to the dealership on July 19 for a repair under warranty. However, the technician informed me that the issue could not be resolved and believed it was a harness that had become pinched and required replacement. The dealership ordered the necessary part but was unable to provide an estimated time of arrival (ETA). As of December 1, despite my efforts to resolve the issue with both the dealership and GM’s corporate entity, I have yet to receive an ETA or any parts for repair. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), backup cameras are mandatory safety equipment for vehicles manufactured in 2018 and newer. I have brought this matter to the attention of GM and the dealership, but it appears to be unaddressed. The design of the truck makes it challenging to see behind, and the inability to perceive potential hazards in the rear poses a safety risk.   Bought car on 10/28/23 and as I was leaving the dealership, I applied the brake and the pedal went to the floor. An error code came up "Brake System Failure". The truck was immediately brought back to the service department. 10/31/23- Capital Chevrolet service department checked the error and deemed the vehicle was safe to drive. 11/8/23-I was turning right on a main road and moved into the far left lane to turn left at a red light. When I applied the brakes, the pedal went to the floor and the truck would not stop. I drove over the median on to the opposite driving lane to avoid rear ending another car. On coming traffic was still at the red light, so there was no collision. November 27th-the service center said that the truck was ok to go and I requested all documentation for the incident which I will attach. The service department was not able to duplicate the error and gave me back the truck.

  Side object sensors go off frequently when no vehicles are there on both sides of vehicle. Additionally when passing vehicles the side object sensors only detect vehicles about 40% of the time. The side object sensors will double flash when no vehicles are there and fight me when changing lanes when lane assist is on. I have video of the false alerts and non detection incidents.

  While the vehicle is in motion, And listening to XM radio, every commercial that comes on generates a banner flag across the speedometer screen. This is very distracting. It tends to draw the drivers’ eye from the road to the screen. Only problems with the vehicles operation should warrant such an action. This is an unnessasary action being that the radio screen displays the same information 10” away, out of the direct eye line of the driver, not to mention that I can hear the said commercial, I don’t need a visual que of the fact flashed on the speedometer. I was told there was a setting to turn off the “RDS”, which I was told was on page 114 of the owner’s manual ( not included in the vehicle), available for download to my phone. Problem: I don’t carry a cell phone. I had to pay $65 plus shipping to obtain one, after paying over $40K for the vehicle. The instructions sent me many screens deep on the center screen, only to find the setting only on the FM band and not on the XM band, which I listen to primarily. FM band is limited where I live and the issue wasn’t a nusense until I had to go down to Ann Arbor and getting caught in exit traffic on US23 in a construction zone going back home. It became a Major Distraction. I though it was illegal to have any motion that is in the sight of the driver while the vehicle is in motion. I am exhausted of calling GM and being connected to someone halfway around the world, that I can’t understand (with a shakey connection) to only be transferred to someone back here in Michigan who doesn’t really help. I want this turned off before I have to return to the U of M Cancer center on Jan. 7, 2024, and I feel I have done all I can with GM.

Problem temporarily clears via battery disconnect/reconnect, proving electrical fault not mechanical. Dealer cannot diagnose root cause, hasn't performed systematic electrical testing. One time was going around a turn and it activated, put the steering wheel straight and I almost tboned another car.   I have experienced brake failure twice while driving my 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. When the failure occurs, the dashboard displays multiple warnings, including “Service Traction Control,” “Service Power Steering Drive With Care,” and “No Assist Soon.” When these messages appear, the steering becomes extremely stiff, the brakes lose stopping power, and the vehicle becomes very difficult to control. The first incident happened around April 2024, and the dealer performed a software update. The issue happened again around October 2024 at approximately 24,000 miles. The vehicle is primarily used on highways and has no modifications. This is a serious safety concern. The combination of brake loss and power steering failure could result in loss of control, crash, injury, or death. There was no warning before the failures occurred. The dealer cannot confirm a permanent fix. This problem needs to be investigated for a potential recall. This vehicle is now unsafe and unreliable. I refuse to transport my family in it. I am seeking a full refund/buyback, as multiple safety system failures are unacceptable and dangerous.

  After starting my 2023 chevy colorado trail boss and letting it idle for several minutes, my blind spot monitors will both illuminate on each rear view mirror for no apparent reason. When this occurs, I am unable to roll my windows down. Also, this issue occurs at random times while driving, seemingly occurring more when braking or decelerating. This issue renders my blind spot monitoring system unreliable to hard to trust. My truck also tells sometimes to service my door latch system when these issues occur. Although these issues seem to resolve on there own, they continue to persist everytime the vehicle is needed or driven. My blind spot monitors, in general, will also illuminate when trees or traffic signs etc. come into view. Also sometimes rendering my window switches useless.

  The blind spot warning in the mirrors is on most of the time for no reason, usually when decelerating, when accelerator is touched the blind spot warning will go out. When the blind spot warning is on the windows will work, very dangerous situation. The service door latch system warning will appear once in a while as well. If you look on the many Chevrolet forums, you find hundreds having the same issues.

  2 incidents. 1. The blind spot indication (driver side) gives false readings sometimes. Will light up at various times in clear weather with no vehicle next to me. Sensors checked and were clean. 2. The vehicle had a dead battery. It was jumped by roadside assistance. When started, the vehicle had a check engine light. I called Onstar (hands free function built in) to diagnose the problem while driving to charge the battery. Onstar told me what it said and indicated I should take it to the dealer. When I attempted to merge onto OK-51 the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating without warning causing me to nearly miss another vehicle while merging. When I looked down at the IP, a message came up saying vehicle limited to 62 mph. I wasn’t previously warned or told by Onstar that this would happen (I was still talking to Onstar when it happened and the customer service representative sounded surprised). I did not collide with the vehicle but the other vehicle had to take evasive maneuvers to avoid my unintentional slow merge.

  Roof dents when going through car wash and blowers will dent the roof. GM has a service bulletin on this lbulletin number 23-NA-209 DATED March 24. Bulletin says that all Colorados built before Feb 3rd 2025 should be repaired and gives a part list and how to fix it 9 pages long. BUT GM says my vin number is not showing a recall and will not fix it My Colorado HAS NO DAMAGE BECAUSE I HAVENT PUT IT THROUTH A CAR WASH TRYING TO GET THEM TO FIX WITHOUT PUTTING A DENT IN IT. THE FIX IS PUTTING SUPPORTS IN THE ROOF TO REINFORCE IT.

  Speedometer and infotainment digital display. Speedometer changes from MPH to KPH, Infotainment display/Speedometer shuts down while driving. Not able to tell correct speed or see speed and critical information. Dealer said that there was no problem even after updating computer system. No other inspection has been done. No previous indications of problems, this first started 5-6 months after receiving the vehicle. This is a company vehicle that is tracked, daily I get alerts that the driver is doing speeds that are impossible due to traffic and I have had the problem replicated for me.

  Vehicle fuel fill back flows everything and vehicle's not full splashing gasoline on the vehicle and the ground which could cause an explosion also. The tank will not be full with fuel range on the dash ranging from 440 to 519. 519 is the full range. The vehicle has been back to dealership service department several times (4) with no resolution. The information screen on the dash has gone blank several times requiring it to go back to the dealership. There had been several message on the screen unrelated to the items listed. The accident avoidance system has locked the front brakes up at both 35 mph and 65 mph several times without a vehicle directly in front and without warning. The unexpected braking causes an abrupt stop and unexpected by the driver behind my vehicle potentially causing a rear end collision

  I had read on a forum for the 2023 Colorado that this had happened to people but I didn’t think it would happen to me. I was driving along a road with no other vehicles and no obstacles in front of me going 40 miles an hour, and the front collision avoidance system kicked in and the truck brakes locked in. The truck went from 40 miles an hour to a complete stop almost instantly,. I was very fortunate that The roads were not icy and there was nobody behind me because that could’ve been very dangerous. Something needs to be done. There are multiple issues with this new model that General Motors doesn’t seem to be taking action on.

  My 2023 Colorado's speedometer and infotainment digital display, which includes my ability to turn on and off my headlights, are both broken and not working. This makes it impossible to know my speed, how much gas I have, or turn on my lights at night. This was my core concern when getting the new 23 Chevy - too much reliance on displays - and it has come true. I have seen on Reddit and other boards that TONs of other users are facing similar issues, and it seems to be because of a botched software update. Please investigate.

  Wipers works 95% of the time. However, they randomly will not work some times and the time varys from 10 minutes to 12+ hours before they start to work again. This issue has been present since I bought the truck in July 23 and I've taken it to the dealer a half a dozen times for this issue but in all cases except once the wipers started to work before the tech could diagnose the problem. The one time they were able to work on it while it was not working they determined the lighting control module had reported failures. They replaced the module but I again experienced another incident where the wipers stopped working for 12 hours - this occured during the weekend when the dealer was not open. Dealer keeps stating they cannot replace parts unless they can prove something is broken so every time I drop it off even with video proof they say they cannot replicate the issue and send me on my way. A TAC case has been opened with GM and am awaiting feedback. The first time this happened I was driving 70+MPH on a highway when a sudden storm hit. I went to turn wipers on and they did not come on. I had to roll down the window and stick my head out to see to exit the highway.

  Exterior headlamp surface coating/finish is delaminating/peeling from the OEM headlamp assembly. Dull headlamps pose safety risk as visibility is dimished. GM does not want to warranty defect, no reason given.

The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds, the Forward Collision Avoidance system activated, and the brakes inadvertently engaged. The Forward Collision Avoidance warning light illuminated, with an audible chime and an unknown message displayed. The contact stated that on one occasion the vehicle was pulled off the highway to avoid crashing with another vehicle. The vehicle was restarted and taken to a dealer. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V133000 (Electrical System, Forward Collision Avoidance) while getting service, and a system update was performed, and the front camera system was updated. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure returned three days later. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,000.

  Vehicle was purchased brand new with 3 miles on it. The vehicle informant system was malfunctioning not allowing phone calls to be made or connection with OnStar. No audio was being produced through the speakers and the headlights were not responding when pressing the headlight buttons on the informant system. Battery was disconnected for 10 minutes and informant system was back online with no issues after that. Vehicle now has 554 miles on it with no problems. The dealership stated this has occurred with a few other 2023 Colorado's.

  Rotors have warped at 17,000 miles. Has been confirmed by dealership to be the issue. This is incredibly soon for this issue to arise, and driver has not driven erratically or applied brakes suddenly. Noticed when brakes suddenly started shaking entire vehicle when applied.

  The contact owns a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle seemed to operate in 4WD mode; however, the instrument cluster stated that the vehicle was operating in 2WD mode. Additionally, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the check engine warning light was cleared. The contact also stated that while at a complete stop, the Auto START/STOP feature turned off the engine; however, upon depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond, and the engine made abnormal grinding sounds. The vehicle then accelerated to 40 MPH and then slammed on the brakes unintendedly, nearly causing a crash. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond.   3 different issues 1. Automatic emergency braking: Was driving and truck slammed brakes twice at 55 mph to 15mph There was no cars or people anywhere around truck when it happened. The jolt was so bad my neck and my wrist hurt for 3 to 4 days, If there was it would have caused an accident. Took truck in twice once to for recall and 2nd for the brakes slamming. Chevy said they couldnt make it happen again so they cant fix it. I explained it didnt happen for over 11,000 miles so how I just have to wait until it happens again. The light and sound still goes off randomly but brakes haven't slammed yet. Very dangerous this really puts mine and others at risk. 2. Windows don't always go down Part has been on order may still waiting Aug 11, 2024 3. Recently truck won't start battery dead. Going to take in tomorrow. I reached out to gm due to chevy dealer said they are the only ones that can fix issue. That didn't work either. I still have a brand new deg Effective truck. Don't know what else to do. Lawyer says to take it in 2 more times then they can start a case. All I want is it fixed specially when I bought it new.

  The right turn signal will click for a left turn after completing its right turn without physically pressing the turn signal. Has happened since buying vehicle, continues to happen now. Turn signal was replaced by dealership, problem not resolved. Have reconfirmed problem with dealership service manager as well as video evidence of issue. Issue happens at all speeds, idle to freeway speeds.
