The screen does not come on, so no heat, no safety stuff, no reverse camera and no sensors. All the above ADAS features do not work either. This is definitely a safety hazard, which I think traces back to the vehicle operating system. I have recently experienced several episodes of the vehicle suddenly going into "limp home" mode while either accelerating onto or driving along at highway speed, causing a sudden loss of drive-ability and endangering me and my vehicle as well as those other passengers and vehicles traveling near me. I have taken it to the Volvo Dealer in Norristown , PA where I purchased the vehicle new less-than a year ago, and they said they have never seen the "Transmission Acceleration Performance Reduced" dash warning with the "turtle shell" icon or the DTC codes before, however, there is much discussion of this issue on the Volvo forums, and I respectfully request that you urgently look into this dangerous issue!

The car's heater on 'pure' mode does not operate. I called the dealer and he said "oh yeah, this is a very widespread problem." My car travels in cold climates and is subject to moisture/condensation. No call from Volvo, no special notice, nothing...... just wait until you can't see out your windows and have to pull to the side of the road because they are too lazy to take care of this issue. It is safety issue - 100%.

The contact owns a 2022 Volvo XC60. The contact stated that on several occasions while the vehicle was turned on, the radio cluster and instrument panel failed to illuminate. Additionally, the contact stated that he and his wife observed a clicking sound coming from the engine compartment when the vehicle was turned off. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,500.
- 11/21/2024· EXTERIOR LIGHTING
My vehicle is an XC60. The headlights fogged up and the fog caused issues with driving in the dark. It took four days for the fog to resolve itself. During that time, at night, you could see the fogged areas in the beam. I took the car to a Volvo dealership and they were not able to replicate the issue, likely because it is not as hot now as it was when this occurred. They told me to open a case with Volvo USA. I sent them photographs. They then responded that there was no evidence of condensation, but condensation was normal and would clear up as it did in this case. The sentence is clear that there was condensation while saying there was no condensation. The headlights are a safety issue and the car is under warranty for 10 years. The headlights should be replaced. I shouldn’t be in a position to fight a company that prides itself on safety about headlights, which are critical for safe driving at night. This is a common issue. I searched and found multiple people with the same problem and some were repaired while others weren’t. Volvo is playing a game of chance with a critical component of a vehicle. I even emailed the VP of Customer Care and he did not respond. I don’t know what else to do besides alert the NHTSA that Volvo headlights are in some instances failing their drivers and Volvo refuses to fix the problem.

The vehicle is basically new and I have only had it a few months. It has already been with the dealer three times because of technical/computer/infotainment issues. The dealer had the vehicle for about a week on each occasion. Today, I started to break so I could turn the car around and park it in the parking lot. I was moving very slowly, as you would expect in such a case. However, the car didn't stop but instead lurched forward in full throttle causing me to crash into a breezeblock wall. The automatic warning system did not sound and the crash detection system never engaged. I haven't been in an accident for 30 years and was not distracted when this happened. If the vehicle hadn't already had issues, I would accept user error as the problem, however in light of the car's history, I have doubts.
- 11/05/2024· ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2022 Volvo XC60. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the vehicle decelerated independently and then stalled. The contact pulled over to the side of the roadway and turned off the vehicle. While attempting to restart the vehicle, the vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed back to residence and then towed to a dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that there was coolant leaking into the engine, and the battery needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V793000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
- 10/25/2025· BACK OVER PREVENTION
I purchased my 2022 Volvo XC60 in April 2025. I had no problems with the backup camera, until I installed a new version of software, 3.7, over the air, in September. The update was described as addressing a recall, for a safety issue where the backup camera would sometimes not work. Since the recall update, I've had issues with the backup camera not working, at the same time all of the cameras, proximity warnings, and rear emergency braking do not work. Far from this software update fixing a safety concern, it appears to have created one. The only answer I could get from the Volvo USA help line was to "take it to a dealer". I thought they would be more concerned given that they have just carried out a recall action that has created a safety issue!

- 10/21/2023· TIRES
TWO PIRELLI SCORPION ZERO TIRES (255/40 R21) RECEIVED ON 2022 VOLVO XC60 RECHARGE AS ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT DEVELOPED MISSING SQUARES/ CHUNKS OF RUBBER IN THE TREAD AREA. THE TWO TIRES MISSING TREAD WERE ORIGINALLY ON THE FRONT AND WERE ROTATED TO THE REAR FOR ADDED SAFETY. ALL 4 MATCHING TIRES WERE DISPOSED AT THE VOLVO DEALER. VOLVO XC60 COULD NO LONGER BE SAFELY DRIVEN AFTER THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE PICKED UP A SCREW. THE SAFETY ISSUE WAS POINTED OUT DURING AN ATTEMPT TO HAVE THE TIRE REPAIRED BECAUSE IT WAS LOSING AIR. THE TECHNICIAN STATED A TIRE REPAIR WOULD INVOLVE CUTTING/SCRAPING THE TREAD FOR INSTALLATION OF A PATCH. THEY BELIEVED THAT THE TIRE WOULD RUPTURE UPON APPLICATION OF A PATCH. SIMILAR DAMAGE WAS FOUND ON THE SECOND TIRE BUT IT WOULD STILL HOLD AIR. ON DIFFERENT OCCASIONS, TWO VOLVO DEALERS AND NTB/MAVIS EXAMINED THE TIRES. ON THE FIRST OCCASION, IT WAS THE VOLVO DEALERS OPINION THE DAMAGE WAS CAUSED BY ALIGNMENT. THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THE TIRES UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND TIME AT NTB/MAVIS THEY BELIEVED THE TIRE CONSTRUCTION WAS FAULTY AND UNSAFE TO REPAIR. THIRD INSPECTION BY A VOLVO DEALER THOUGHT IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY DRIVING OVER GRAVEL/SHARP ROCKS. A LOW PRESSURE WARNING APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE TIRE HAD LOST SOME AIR AND WOULD NOT HOLD AIR LONG WHEN REFILLED. VOLVO'S DEALER REPLACED THE PIRELLI TIRE THAT WOULD NOT HOLD AIR, BUT WOULD NOT REPLACE THE OTHER THREE IN THE SET. MATCHING PIRELLI TIRES COULD NOT BE OBTAINED, SO A SET OF MICHELIN TIRES WERE INSTALLED. OWNER WAS REQUIRED TO PAY FOR THREE, VOLVO COVERED ONE TIRE COST BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT HOLD AIR. NTB/MAVIS ADVISED THEY HAVE DISCONTINUED STOCKING THE PIRELLI SCORPION ZERO TIRE.
- 10/18/2025· VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
While driving on crowded I40 near Statesville NC, the engine started to stutter and moments later quit entirely. Fortunately we were able to move to the shoulder with only a few seconds to spare. This was very dangerous as we had to move through the right lane in front of speeding semi trucks. The only warning light received was that there was an engine problem, that the car would go into “safe” mode. This was mere seconds before entirely disabling the engine. Had we come to a halt on the highway there would have been a serious accident and injury to ourselves and most likely others. We contacted Volvo, a tow was dispatched and the car was winched on to a flat bed trailer and we were transported to a dealer in Hickory. Later it was confirmed that the Integrated Starter General (ISG) had failed and that power had been interrupted to the hybrid battery. There is a serious problem here and I suspect may impact other “mild hybrid” systems that install integrated alternator/starter motor systems between the engine and transmission.

Case number 240821-000271 was opened on 8/21/24 with Volvo Car USA Support. I have three main concerns: 1) The infotainment system losing the favorites that I have saved in the Sirius application. This had been an intermittent problem that I had been having since I purchased the car. I finally took it into the service department at Volvo Cars of Gilbert on 1/7/23 for this problem (Invoice Number VOCS110975). The service department was unable to recreate the problem so they did nothing. 2)A complete car system reboot while I was driving on 6/10/24. As I was driving down the road the HVAC system shut off and the dash and infotainment system screens went blank. All car systems completely shut down except the engine. This was an extremely frightening experience as all of this happened with no warning whatsoever WHILE I WAS DRIVING. This is a huge safety issue! Within about a minute of driving like this the systems started to come back up. I proceeded home. The next morning I took the car to Volvo Cars of Gilbert again. They had the car for 5 days and performed a software update on the IHU (Infotainment Head Unit) (Invoice Number VOCS120164). 3)The failure of the infotainment system to update after starting the car and driving. This happened on 8/7/24 and I took the car directly to Volvo Cars of Gilbert again. The infotainment system was stuck on “Infotainment system starting…” for the entire 12-minute drive to Volvo. Volvo Cars of Gilbert had my car for 8 days this time and this time they did a reload to the existing IHU (Invoice Number VOCS121204). I asked that they replace the IHU. Volvo refused to replace the IHU because it was too expensive at $3200. Also, the problem of the infotainment system losing its radio favorites has become much worse. It happens daily now. I believe there is an opportunity for a catastrophic event to happen while I am driving if this IHU problem is not corrected immediately.

The Volvo XC60 re-charge/hybrid is not equipped with a spare tire. A tire repair kit is provided. I had a flat tire resulting from sidewall damage. The repair kit is ineffective for this type of tire failure. This required towing the vehicle to a tire shop for replacement. If this had happened in a rural setting, at night, or on a weekend the vehicle's occupants would have been put in danger. I was not informed of this feature at the time of sale of the vehicle. This information would have influenced my decision to purchase the vehicle. I am also told that a conventional spare tire from Volvo is not a solution to the problem as it won't support the weight of this model.

On [XXX], at 82,371 miles, my daughter's 2022 Volvo XC60 T8 Recharge was diagnosed with DTC BECM-P0BBD92 (Hybrid/High Voltage Battery Pack Voltage Variation) and a confirmed Cell Module F failure (Repair Order #[XXX], Bob Penkhus Motor Co Volvo Cars, Colorado Springs, CO). The dealer instructed her not to charge the vehicle pending repair. The replacement part (Cell Module F, Part #36003341) has been on indefinite backorder since diagnosis — initially quoted at 6 weeks, still unavailable as of this report. This vehicle falls within NHTSA Recall 25V-179 (LG high-voltage battery modules, fire risk when fully charged and parked). NHTSA's VIN lookup shows this VIN as having no unrepaired recalls, which I believe reflects only a prior software-monitoring update rather than a physical hardware fix — this diagnosed cell failure occurred after that update, is consistent with the exact failure mode described in the recall, and cannot currently be repaired because the remedy part is unavailable. Volvo Cars USA opened and then closed a corporate case (#[XXX], closed June 19, 2026) declining further assistance, stating its only obligation is to repair the vehicle — which it cannot presently do. It has been 138 days with no resolution on this matter. My name is [XXX] (father) and I can provide notarized authorization to act on my daughter's behalf on this matter. Thank you very much for your kind assistance. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Component Failure & Inspection Availability: Infotainment Head Unit (IHU) / Audio Module (AUD) running Android Automotive OS. The vehicle and its components are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The audio system completely crashes approximately every 3 drive cycles. This failure disables all safety-critical audio features, including turn signal clicks, backup camera and parking sensor chimes, blind-spot/cross-traffic warning alerts, and emergency system tones. Operating the vehicle without audible turn signals or proximity chimes creates significant driver distraction and an immediate hazard to traffic safety. Dealer / Service Confirmation: The issue occurs intermittently during daily operation and is being reported to Volvo dealer service Prior Inspection: The vehicle has been inspected by Volvo service department Symptoms & Onset: The problem began following a recent Android Automotive OS software update. No warning lamps, error messages, or indicators appear prior to the failure. The entire audio bus shuts off either at vehicle start or mid-drive. The only temporary workaround is forcing an infotainment reboot by holding the center display home button for 20–30 seconds, but the complete audio failure recurs every few drive cycles.

I was driving on a highway over 55 MPH when the Power Limitation Indicator symbol, the red warning symbol and the Emission control system flashed on which immediately limited my maximum speed to 45 MPH. This instant deceleration in high-speed traffic almost caused the car behind me to rear-end my car. I put on my flashers and exited the highway ASAP. The error light stayed on until the car's electric battery had been drained and the gasoline engine was being used 100%. Two weeks later the Power Limitation Indicator symbol flashed on again but this time I was on local roads traveling at 35 mph thus the car did not decelerate. Again, after draining the car's electric battery the Indicator symbol went away. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Propulsion System and yes How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The instant deceleration of the vehicle in fast moving traffic was a potential accident situation. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The dealer cannot replicate the error message nor knows how to fix it. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes, the Propulsion system service required warning symbol and message.

This Volvo XC60 B8 has a serious deficiency with the 12v system and main Battery where it discharges below 10v when the vehicle sits idol for more than a week. Every 7-10 day interval the vehicle must be jump-started and driven for 30 min to recharge the 12v system. The vehicle reports itself in limp-mode until the 12v system charges above 11v then switches to normal drive mode for the remainder of the 30 min drive. I installed a battery tender to the POS and NEG posts under the hood but it charges the mild hybrid battery to full then disables continued charging of the 12v system, leaving the 12v main battery under voltage and draining while the car sits idol. We have to drive the vehicle for 30 minutes every 4-5 days to keep the battery charged. Not even Audi or Lamborghini require this much attention to their 12v systems like this 2022 Volvo. This dis-charging issue happens in all types of weather, all year long, and under any parked condition (locked or unlocked) and the factory battery charger only works on the hybrid battery, not the 12v system battery. I have owned other hybrid vehicles that can sit idol for weeks or months at a stretch and will start without issue. While parked, my Camry XLE (Toyota Synergy system mechanically disconnects their traction battery and simultaneously engages the 12v system to keep the Vehicle "aware" via sensors) will sit for months until I return to drive it normally. Volvo dealerships accept this behavior as normal although my experience with hybrid vehicles implies the opposite. I have not been able to uncover any online research that describes my issue with any resolution from Volvo or successful 3rd party auxiliary internal or external charging systems. it has been researched by Volvo to be 'within normal operating parameters'.

The car is only a few months old with less than 10k miles. After parking the car for about 2 hrs, came back and the battery was completely dead. This left me and my family stranded unexpectedly. After jumping the car, a warning displayed "Stop Safely, 12 V Battery Critical Charging Fault". I decided to try to make the short drive home as I was stranded with my family otherwise, the vehicle was in a limp home "turtle mode" which was not safe. The acceleration was surging unexpectedly and without warning. I realize that there was a warning not to drive, however I didn't have a lot of good options given the electrical failure. Also, in thinking back, there was a warning sometime in the last month regarding collision detection that needed to be fixed, but warning went away. Tow Truck Driver jump started car successfully. Fortunately, I instructed the driver to take it to the dealership anyway because there was no reason for the new vehicle to have a dead battery. I had left the car running and returned to it after chatting with driver. At some point a warning message appeared on the display reading "Stop Safely. 12V Battery Critical Charging Fault." If I had driven off after the car was jump started -- as I have always done before -- the vehicle could have gone into a serious fail mode that would have endangered me and those around me. Prior to this event, I had a few minor electrical glitches that I ignored because I thought they were either user error or my imagination. For example the sensors were reporting that I was driving too closely to another vehicle but there was no other vehicle around me -- any where. I have read Volvo forums and understand this has happened to other people and there have been even more significant electrical problems that could have ended badly. I've been trying to find information about Volvo addressing the issues. But I have not even seen that they have acknowledged the problem. This is a dangerous car. Please, investigate these issues. Look at the driver forums to help assess the issue. I am still waiting for a response from the service department and will provide more details as I get them.

After a software update to the infotainment system (Android Automotive OS version 5.1.17, installed on 06/03/2026), my 2022 Volvo XC60 B5 intermittently loses all audio output. When the failure occurs, the vehicle produces no sound of any kind: no audible rear parking/proximity sensor warning while in reverse, no turn-signal indicator tones, and no media audio. The rear-view camera image still displays normally, so the loss of the audible backup warning is not obvious to the driver — the parking-assist system appears functional while its audible warnings are in fact disabled. On multiple occasions the failure was already present as I backed out of my garage and began driving, leaving me with no audible obstacle warning while reversing and no turn-signal tones while maneuvering. The display, navigation, and camera continue to function while audio is dead, which indicates the audio service stops responding rather than a hardware fault. The only way to restore audio is to fully restart (reboot) the infotainment head unit; the failure then recurs intermittently. The fault began immediately after the 5.1.17 update and was sporadic at first. After noticing a pattern, I documented occurrences on 06/15/2026, 06/17/2026, and 06/20/2026 with timestamped photographs, which are available on request. No crash or injury has occurred, but the loss of audible backup-warning tones while reversing is a safety hazard, particularly for pedestrians or obstacles behind the vehicle. I am not aware of a current recall covering this issue and am requesting investigation.

Continuous problems associated with the computer of the car that are affecting its ability to drive safely. While in reverse and in motion, the car's camera will often, an unpredictably, shut off. Additionally, the car's forward collision warning system will initiate when there are no cars in front of; rather, it sometimes engages when oncoming traffic going the opposite direction. Lastly, the car lost all power while on the highway due to a "battery error". It required a redownload of software; however, these other safety problems persist.

4 months old 2022 Volvo XC60 software bug that drained all batteries on board caused the vehicle to not to start, stuck in park, it was impossible disengage parking brake or put the car in neutral. Without any warning or battery low or battery empty indicator, the vehicle failed to start. We were put at risk by a car that can fail without warning and not start at all as we were stranded at a remote location. When the car failed to start, it could only be moved by a flat-bed tow truck, as it was impossible to put the car into neutral and it would not roll. The Volvo dealer confirmed that the vehicle failed to start because of a software bug. Dealer indicated that they were not able to start or move the car, they had to connect to it wirelessly and applied updates then reset battery and charge it for 4 hours, as the software bug caused the battery to drain without warning or indication, which provides power systems such as, starter, parking brakes and gear selections system. There were no warning indicators, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure.

On two occasions we have discovered cracks in a wheel on the vehicle. The second crack is causing the tire to lose pressure. We have no recollection of any impact that would have damaged the wheels. It appears the vehicle is too heavy for the wheels, causing them to fail under normal usage.

Our tires are Continental 255/45R20. It blowouted today when we were on the freeway with the speed at 65 miles per hour. We pulled our car to the shoulder of freeway after the rear driver side tire was blowouted. The tire was completed damage with many explore holes. We can see the bulges too. Our car is only one year old. The tire on right front in the passenger side was blowouted in March this year and we had replaced it. We can prove this tire is a defect tire.

I have been driving with a bubble on the side wall of the tire. According with tire place this is been for long time. My car does not have even 9000 miles tire in under warranty but not either pirelli or volvo of america is taking responsibility for this. I drive in the highway I am a woman single mother with my son ... And driving under this circumstances in not safe. But apparently Pirelli of Volvo are just blaming each other.. I have to chance the tire cover the expenses. And waiting for an answer.

Re: Demand for repurchase or replacement under warranty — VIN [XXX] Vehicle: 2022 Volvo XC60 (pre‑certified) Purchase date: 08/19/2024 Dealer: [Dealer name, [XXX] ] Dear Volvo Cars USA Customer Care: I am the owner of the above-referenced vehicle. Since the date of purchase (08/19/2024) the vehicle’s infotainment system has repeatedly failed: it shuts down and reboots frequently (as often as 10 times within one hour of normal driving). Each shutdown disables navigation, HVAC controls and Bluetooth, and on reboot I must reset settings. This defect creates a significant safety hazard while driving, especially in unfamiliar areas. Since purchase I have returned the vehicle to the dealer for diagnosis and repair on multiple occasions. The vehicle has received software updates approximately 3–4 times, most recently on05//05/2026. The problem persists. I have retained copies of all repair orders and service records documenting these visits. (Copies attached.) This recurring failure remains unresolved despite multiple repair attempts and continues to present a SERIOUS safety risk. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? -The backup camera system fails to respond intermittently. Often times the screen will remain black for several seconds while backing up before the screen shows any picture. Other times it will come on, and then flash to black while you are backing up. This is a major hazard should a child run/walk behind a car, when this occurs. I'm hoping others have expressed this problem so action can be taking. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? -Since Backup cameras are a federal requirement since 5/2018. The Failure to function on these new cars I find to be unacceptable. Even more so given that Volvo is supposed to be a brand dedicated to safety. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? -Indirectly yes, the Volvo dealership acknowledged that the new Google system is slow to respond at times. But they said a new software update would fix it. I have found this to not be the case and it seems to be happening more frequently now. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? -yes by the dealer. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? -no

I have had 5 visits with problems with engine , braking sensors, and automatic braking incidents when no obstruction is noted. Propulsion System failure has occurred 3+ times and turtle mode has come on and limited my speed to 30 MPG. It has also started bouncing and shaking while in reverse. I am extremely concerned about the safety threats and lack of consistency when taking it to be repaired.

2022 Volvo XC60 T8 Recharge VIN: [XXX] Mileage at time of complaint: ~38,400 Purchased: November 2023 (Certified Preowned) DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM: The vehicle's infotainment system and backup camera have experienced repeated failures since the time of purchase. The backup camera intermittently fails to display an image when the vehicle is placed in reverse, leaving the driver without rear visibility. The infotainment system freezes, goes black, or becomes unresponsive without warning. These failures affect the federally mandated rearview camera display required under FMVSS 111. The vehicle has been brought to authorized Volvo retailers (Jim Fisher Volvo, Portland, OR and Germain Volvo North Hills, Wexford, PA) more than eight times for in-person service for this concern. The same issues have also been troubleshot remotely by phone or text on approximately ten additional occasions. Software updates, system resets, and other attempted repairs have not permanently resolved the problem. On one occasion, the backup camera failed to display while reversing, which contributed to minor rear bumper damage. The driver was relying on the camera display as designed and federally required, and the system did not perform. I am aware that NHTSA Recall 25V282 (Volvo R10320) was issued in April 2025 for this defect across 413,000+ vehicles including the 2022 XC60. Despite the recall, the underlying infotainment and camera reliability issues in my vehicle have not been resolved. A second recall (25V392) was issued after the initial software fix caused braking concerns in some vehicles. No injuries have occurred. No crashes have occurred beyond the minor bumper contact described above. Volvo Customer Care Case #XXX was opened and a goodwill assistance request was denied. Volvo XC-60 computer system / software updates malfunctioned. The computer(s) remain in the vehicle (to my knowledge). Without warning, the vehicle failed to start, supposedly because of a software update that failed to work properly. The car routinely has software updates. This is the second time in the 6 months since we leased the car that it has had problems with a software update. We have a home in Ithaca NY, where it can snow for many months of the year. We are put at risk by a car that can fail without warning. When the car failed to start, it could only be moved by a flat-bed tow truck, as it was impossible to put the car into neutral and it would not roll. The Volvo dealer confirmed that the vehicle failed to start because of a software update that failed to work properly. As far as we know the car's computer(s) was (were) not replaced - it was a pure software download problem. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. There was a message that the car intended to perform a software update and could not be used for 1.5 hours until the update concluded. But there was No warning that the car would fail to work After the software finished updating.

The vehicle pulls to the right consistently. Volvo San Diego has attempted to correct this on six different occasions, including sending it to an alignment specialist, and swapping wheels and tires. After this, they tried to explain to me that this was a “safety feature” that pulls the vehicle to the right, sometimes leaving the lane, so the vehicle would not go in to oncoming traffic on a two lane road. They also explained that this is standard for all vehicles in this class. Even though it does not happen on any of the courtesy vehicles they have loaned me during the six visits. Also having issue with the main computer not connecting to the internet, or radio, and sometimes not allowing for back up sensor alarms, or blinker sounds.

Reporting a manufacturing defect in a 2022 Volvo XC60. The vehicle developed a metallic ticking noise in the timing area, audible at idle. Symptoms strictly match Volvo Technical Journal 36551.9.1 (NHTSA ID: MC-11015995-0001) regarding faulty camshaft seals. The noise disappeared when the oil filler cap was loosened, exactly as described in the TJ. An authorized Volvo dealer confirmed the defect and replaced the camshaft seals per Volvo’s protocol (Work Act No. ЗН-0131107). This repair completely resolved the issue, proving it was a manufacturing fault. The manufacturer refused warranty coverage citing 'salvage title' status, without proving any causal link between the title and this specific engine defect. Failure of timing components poses a significant safety risk, including sudden engine stall or oil leaks during operation. The owner was forced to pay out-of-pocket for the repair of a recognized factory defect. Supporting documents and video evidence are available upon request.
