  • BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARECampaign 25V908000 · 23/12/2025

Volvo Car USA, LLC (Volvo Car) is recalling certain 2021-2025 XC40, 2022 V90, 2022-2024 C40BEV, 2022-2025 S90, V90CC, XC60, 2023-2025 S60, V60, V60CC, XC90, and 2025 EC40, and EX40 vehicles. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: A rearview camera image that does not display reduces the driver's view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: The software will be updated by a dealer or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 24, 2026. Owners may contact Volvo Car’s customer service at 1-800-458-1552. Volvo Car's number for this recall is R10333. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning February 16, 2026. This recall replaces previous NHTSA recall number 25V282. TPMS system total malfunction. Wife started out of our garage for work and noticed that the vehicle wasnt driving right and fortunately stopped and back down our driveway back toward the garage. Called me out and I went around the vehicle and witnessed the right front tire was completely flat. The system had not alerted her and when I went through the menu it had a green checkmark and said all tire pressures were good. Pumped the tire up and turned vehicle around put back in garage, tire had went completely flat and still no indication from TPMS. Called dealer and was told I would have to bring it in, but I have a ruined tire and no confidence that if I fix the tire vehicle would be safe to drive the 25 miles to the dealership. The dealership had replaced the center information console and the one in front of the driver at 4000 and 7000 miles respectively because of total catastrophic failure, causing suspicion to me that there may be some cause and effect to that end. The vehicle only has 38,758 miles on it at this point. Just grateful the tire went down overnight in my garage rather than on my wifes commute home from work.

Two different times, while stopped at a traffic light, suddenly and without cause the seat belt tensioners in the front seats activated until we released the buckles. They violently retracted into our bodies, causing chest pain and for me, a female, left breast pain. The first time was 09/15/2022. The second time was 04/22/2023. The current software is version 2.7. For the first time, the version was 2.2. To be clear, we weren't moving at all, nor was the car in line in front of us. We notified Volvo after the first time and will do so again now.
