  • 12/31/2025· POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The vehicle has experienced recurring safety-related issues associated with the hybrid electrical and propulsion systems. During normal operation, warning messages related to the hybrid system appeared, and the vehicle entered reduced functionality or became unreliable to operate. These conditions created concern about potential loss of propulsion while driving. In addition to propulsion concerns, the vehicle was subject to manufacturer recalls related to the high-voltage battery system, including warnings regarding battery overheating and potential fire risk. Recall-related service was performed by an authorized dealer; however, safety concerns persisted after service was completed, and confidence in the safe operation of the vehicle was not restored. The ongoing nature of the electrical and hybrid system issues, combined with recall notices involving battery fire risk, created a safety concern for continued use of the vehicle, particularly due to the possibility of vehicle malfunction or battery-related hazards during normal operation or while parked. No crash or injury occurred, but the condition raised ongoing safety concerns. The issue has occurred more than once and was not permanently resolved despite dealer inspection and recall-related service.

  • 12/30/2024· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

The front passenger door is unable to be opened from the inside or the outside. The handle from the inside feels like it has no tension, like something snapped inside. Two local mechanics suggested taking to the dealer as this seems like a potential safety issue with no means of egress from the passenger side if needed. Dealer said they have never seen this problem and deem that a fix will be very difficult as they are unable to open the door to remove the interior panel. The only way to access the latch mechanism is to remove the exterior door panel, a major task. Two safety issues- impossible to exit door inside, what if this happens to another door and I am unable to escape my vehicle? Or unable to get my child from inside? And because the mechanism cannot be inspected, is the door safely locked, or will it open while driving? Contacted Chrysler and they are unwilling to cover repair since vehicle is at 39,000 miles and warranty ended at 36,000. Chrysler rep also said never seen this issue before. Should be covered as manufacturing defect and potential major safety issue.

  • 12/26/2025· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I have experienced abrupt loss of propulsion events consistent with recall 25V-576. I have reached out to Stellantis repeatedly for resolution and no one ever follows up with an answer or a resolution.

  • 12/24/2024· SUSPENSION,WHEELS

I purchased a 2022 Jeep, my miles are under 20000, I took it to the dealership and told them something was going on with the vehicle. They checked the vehicle and said nothing was wrong with it. I ended up taking it back because the situation got worse, they finally told me it was my suspension. I also told them about the recall that was over looked. They told me to pick up my vehicle with no explanation to why. I had a warranty and there was no reason for them to deny me service.

  • 12/22/2025· AIR BAGS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES

I lease a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has developed serious and unresolved safety issues. While driving at highway speeds, typically between 70 and 75 mph, the vehicle has repeatedly lost power and begun to decelerate on its own without driver input. When this occurs, I am unable to maintain speed with traffic, creating a dangerous condition and placing myself, my passengers, and other motorists at risk. In addition to the loss of power, the vehicle regularly displays warnings related to critical systems, including electric mode being unavailable, fuel and oil refresh in progress, emergency/SOS system unavailable, hybrid power loss, and an airbag system warning. These warnings are documented and have appeared across multiple service visits. The vehicle has been taken to two different authorized Jeep dealerships and has spent nearly a month in service between them. Despite extended diagnostic efforts, neither dealership has been able to identify or repair the underlying issue. The problem remains unresolved. In addition, two active recalls continue to show as incomplete in the system and have not been successfully addressed. As of now, the vehicle is still at the dealership and is not available for use. Given the unresolved loss of power at highway speeds and the incomplete recalls, I do not consider the vehicle safe to operate. I have contacted both Jeep/Stellantis and Chrysler Capital in writing to request assistance and resolution. Despite providing documentation and allowing ample time for review, I have not received a response or acknowledgment. All repair attempts, warnings, recall status, and communications have been documented. I am seeking resolution because the vehicle remains unsafe, unreliable, and unavailable for normal use despite multiple repair opportunities and extensive time in service.

  • 12/17/2025· BACK OVER PREVENTION

The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced a brief intermittent display of the rearview camera image while reversing. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the radio software update was performed under NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V436000 (Back Over Prevention); however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where an unknown repair was performed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where the contact was advised that the vehicle needed to be retained for servicing. The vehicle remained at the dealer for 7 months. The dealer had replaced the two side cameras, the control module and had performed the software update with the assistance of a Jeep factory engineer; however, the failure persisted. The engineer determined that the camera wiring harness needed to be replaced; however, the part had been discontinued. The engineer determined that the wiring harness needed to be bypassed, and a patch cord needed to be installed. The dealer called the contact and informed the contact that the rearview camera was operating as intended after the installation of the cord patch. The contact declined the vehicle repair with a cord patch and inquired about buy-back assistance. The contact stated that the cord patch reduced the integrity of the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 28,000.

I am submitting this complaint to report what I believe to be a manufacturing or design defect involving the sunroof of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. On or around December 1, 2025, I discovered a severe water leak originating from the sunroof area during normal rainfall. Water entered the vehicle interior without warning and caused substantial damage to the headliner, interior trim, and other interior components. The amount of water intrusion was significant and far beyond what would be expected from normal wear. The vehicle has only around 45,000 miles and is regularly maintained. The leak occurred without any visible damage to the sunroof glass and without prior indication of a problem. The sunroof was fully closed at the time. This suggests a defect related to the sunroof sealing system, drainage system, or overall design rather than misuse or external damage. This defect presents a serious safety concern. Water intrusion inside the vehicle creates the risk of: Electrical system damage or failure, Mold and health hazards, Impaired visibility due to water dripping near the windshield, Distraction to the driver while operating the vehicle. In heavy rain conditions, this defect could reasonably occur while driving, creating a dangerous situation for the driver and passengers. As a result of this defect, my vehicle sustained significant interior damage, requiring repairs. I believe this issue reflects a broader defect in the sunroof design or drainage system rather than an isolated incident. I am concerned that other Jeep Grand Cherokee owners may be experiencing similar failures. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue for potential safety-related defects involving sunroof leakage in Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. The severity of the water intrusion and resulting damage indicates a defect that could pose a risk to vehicle safety and occupant well-being.

I would like to register a formal complaint for the timing its taking to get the open recall resolved on this vehicle. NHTSA Recall Number24V-720. Due to this issue, I am unable to leverage the hybrid/electric features of my vehicle which is costly me more money in fuel costs. Where I previously filled my tank approximately every 3 months, i now have to do it weekly. I have read online that estimates are taking another 4-5 months before resolution. That is unacceptable solution to an existing problem. This is not a great experience for a first time hybrid buyer who is trying to adopt the new technology. When I purchased my vehicle, i influenced two friends to also purchase one. I would have not made this recommendation had I known open recall issues will not be resolved in a timely manner. Lastly, now i have the concern of parking the vehicle in my garage which could result in losing my entire household and its contents. This is unreal to me.

I had a friend drive me and the vehicle to my house to be towed to a jeep dealership the following day. The power steering went out and back on two more times during that 10 min drive. It is easy, when driving in automatic mode, to accidently touch one of the paddle shifters. In doing so, the automatic transmission disengages, and the transmission suddenly switches to control by the paddle shifters. If the driver is unaware of this, the vehicle can lose motive power if the gear then in effect is no longer fitting for the vehicles speed and the engine's RPM. I recently took the vehicle in for service of this issue because my wife had experienced this while driving on Interstate 95, in Maryland. The vehicle stopped responding to the accelerator, so she pulled onto the shoulder, put the vehicle in park and turned it off. When she turned it back on, it was back in automatic mode, and she was able to resume driving. The technician and service manager advised that when this occurs, the vehicle can be returned to automatic mode by pulling the right paddle forward. That information does not appear in the vehicle manual, or on the Jeep website. The technician and service manager also advised that there is no way to disable the paddles to prevent the problem from repeating, Other drivers have experienced this. See [XXX] . I believe it is a serious safety problem. To that point, there is a pending safety recall -- NHTSA 23V- 412 (copy attached) -- that addresses loss of motive power for another reason. Here is the description in the recall notice: The transmission control module and the hybrid control processor on your vehicle [1] may experience loss of communication caused by diagnostic reactions to faults resulting in an engine shut down condition. Engine shut down may result in an unexpected loss of motive power while driving, which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. The sudden enabling of the paddle shifter and resulting loss of motive power is also a safety issue that needs prompt attention. How many recalls does one vehicle get in 2 years of ownership get before they take car back? This is the absolute worst vehicle I have ever owned at $64,100 price tag. We went through this battery recall last year at this time and could not use hybrid system for 5 months and had to park outside until recall was performed and god forbid you take grandkids anywhere in it, and with all the countless other problems that are so speratic they cannot fix.Recall number 95B, when weather was finally warm enough for them to perform the diagnostics on it, it was deemed okay. Now I get another recall for same thing and once again it is a fire hazard again and no fix is available according to recall info. Yesterday, I had been traveling on the turnpike and was attempting to merge back on from a rest area when the Jeep entered "turtle" or "limp" mode without warning, indicating a failure of the hybrid system. The speed dropped instantly to 2mph and the engine kept revving, generating dark exhaust and a concerning smell (hot, different from regular vehicle exhaust smell). Eventually I was able to move back into the parking area and needed to be towed. I have yet to have it evaluated by a dealership as they are closed today. Following multiple previous hybrid system recalls since purchasing the vehicle Oct 2022, I've experienced numerous malfunctions of the hybrid system (taking it to the dealership multiple times to be evaluated after the "wrench" service hybrid electric system warning showed) over the last 6 months. Each time I've been told a "software reset fixed it" by the dealership. The problems with this hybrid system have been increasing in severity. Currently two recalls are in place due to these hybrid system issues (remedy not available). This was a scary, dangerous experience and I have no confidence in Stellantis resolving this issue.

Timing cover leak, replaced by dealer once covered under warranty. Few months later same leak occurred in the same park after dealer replacement. Back to the dealer to have checked, dealer found that the head gasket during manufacture/casting has defect causing the head gasket to protrude into the mounting surface for the timing cover gasket/seal causing improper seal and securement. Dealer got Jeep engineers involved and found it was during manufacture and assembly/casting process. New head gasket being replaced and installed inspection of all mounting surfaces on cylinders valves and pistons for additional damage, and replacing timing cover gasket again. This caused loss of engine oil over time even after dealer fix and replacement the first time, this could cause drivers to not know they are low on engine oil causing potential catastrophic engine damage or failure/seizing during normal operating conditions. This is a common failure in the Jeep 4xe of timing cover seal issues and leaks.

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Summit Reserve which is affected by recalls 78C and 68C. These recalls have no remedy, no timeline, and no clear information from Stellantis. I no longer feel safe driving my daily driver, and the lack of progress has created a serious safety and reliability issue. Stellantis has instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from buildings or other vehicles. This implies a potential fire risk that many owners cannot avoid, especially those who live in shared parking areas, garages, apartments, or townhomes. This should be treated as a major safety hazard. Stellantis has already attempted software updates and even high voltage battery replacements, but these efforts have not resolved the problem. The fact that previous fixes failed suggests a hardware defect involving the battery system or related components. Stellantis has not provided accurate or transparent information, and owners have no path forward. Because Stellantis advises against charging, the hybrid system cannot be used at all. This eliminates the purpose of the vehicle and increases operating costs. I have spent many hours at dealerships with no solution. Stellantis Customer Care has stated that they will not offer support or compensation and directed me to a third party arbitrator. I respectfully request that NHTSA increase oversight of recalls 78C and 68C, investigate whether Stellantis has properly identified the defect, and determine whether the company is meeting federal recall obligations. I also ask NHTSA to consider whether this situation warrants interim owner compensation or potential buy back evaluation due to ongoing safety risks, failed repairs, and the complete loss of hybrid functionality.

Earlier this spring, when we started our 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the language had changed itself to Italian, the units were metric, the ‘Forward Collision’ off icon was stuck on the dashboard. Also the paddle shifters did not work. In May, 2025, we paid $204.41 to Gary Mathews Motors in Clarksville, TN to ‘diagnose’ and ‘fix’ the issue. Fast forward to this month, and the issue happened again! They didn’t ‘fix’ anything. See forum where HUNDREDS of other owners are experiencing the same exact issues: [XXX] Also see Star bulletin regarding this issue: [XXX] From what I can see in the forums, there is no permanent fix for this issue. Despite this, Jeep/Stellantis keeps charging customers to ‘diagnose’ and ‘fix’ the issue which is a scam/fraud since they know there is no permanent fix. I have reached out to Jeep, and been promised follow-up from one of their specialists that never comes. I have all transcripts and promised timelines to expect follow up that never happen. I will attach photos where they admit they haven’t met the timeline for follow up that was communicated, and as of now, despite additional promises of communication/follow up I still have not heard from them. Hello, I am reaching out to formally escalate an ongoing safety concern with my vehicle’s reverse guidance system, which continues to malfunction despite multiple service visits. This issue directly affects my ability to safely operate the vehicle and creates a daily hazard while backing up. I have already taken my vehicle to the dealership multiple times, and each attempt has failed to resolve the problem long-term. I have also contacted Jeep Corporate and was assigned Case Number, which has since been escalated to a case manager. However, the issue remains unresolved, and I am no closer to a permanent fix. This problem is especially concerning given the recent Jeep recalls involving camera, rear-visibility, and electrical/software issues. The recurring malfunction in my reverse guidance system appears to be directly aligned with the types of failures documented in these recalls, further reinforcing that this is not an isolated defect. At this time, I am requesting the following: 1.Immediate review and escalation of my case. 2.A definitive corrective action plan to permanently repair the reverse guidance system. 3.Confirmation on whether my vehicle qualifies for any recall-related repairs, software updates, or component replacements related to rear-visibility systems. 4.If the issue cannot be corrected, I am requesting that Jeep explore goodwill options, including replacement or repurchase consideration, given the repeated failures and ongoing safety risk. I have been patient throughout this process, but the unresolved malfunction of a critical safety system is unacceptable. Please respond as soon as possible with next steps. This vehicle is subject to Safety Recall 68C for battery fire risk. The manufacturer issued a directive to park outside away from structures and do not charge the vehicle due to extreme fire risk. Despite having an open case with Jeep, there have been three failed supervisor callbacks with no resolution provided. The remedy is not yet available. The owner refuses to drive this vehicle and refuses to allow his wife to drive it due to serious safety concerns. If the car catches fire while she is driving, there is fear she will not have enough time to protect herself. This is an extremely scary and dangerous situation for the family. Additionally, the owner fears the house could catch fire while sleeping because of this vehicle parked nearby, even following the manufacturer's parking directive. This recall creates an impossible hardship - the vehicle cannot be safely driven or charged, yet no buyback or replacement has been offered. The vehicle was recently purchased in December 2024 and now sits unusable at 39,000 miles due to this unresolved safety defect. The manufacturer has failed to provide a timely remedy despite multiple contact attempts. A full vehicle buyback or replacement with a non-affected model is the only acceptable resolution to this extreme safety risk.

The system has many errors, The primary issue is the forward collision warning indicator light is on showing that the service is off. But it isn't, you can go into the system settings and turn the service on and off without issue. The light stays on. It does work as far as I can tell also. It seems to be causing the paddle shifting to be disabled. I can't downshift going down a steep grade and am being required to use by brakes. Which can be very dangerous. It is causing another issue that I cannot recall at the moment. There is another issue with the settings of the vehicle randomly changing to Euro type metric settings. The clock changing to 24 hour, tire pressure changing to kpa? mph changing to kph, all the different unit of measurements changing over. Randomly, not at the same time but consistently every few weeks. At first it seemed like it was connected to a monthly software update, but now its random. The vehicle has been taken to a Jeep dealership in Sherman, tx about the issue of the Forward collision system and they fixed it. Then the problem reappeared a month afterward. I've called and they confirm that the correct US software is installed. I am the only driver of the vehicle, so no one else is changing the settings. I work a full time 9-5 job and do not work close to a dealership, which has become an issue for these matters. All the issues I have had with the vehicle seem to be related to them updating the software without my approval. Currently my vehicle has 71k miles on it and won't be covered by the 50k warranty. The warning light issue started after 50k miles.
