The car has been erratic in its performance since purchase. The car has a continuous issue with the suspension, electronic system, and brakes. I have reached out to Hyundai manufacturer on numerous occasion regarding the car and no one is addressing my concerns. The car drives so erratic and unpredictable that I am fearful that someone will be injured or worst. Attached is a photo of the entire system going offline, which occurs all the time, and because the whole care is computerized this poses a safety risk for me and others on the road. When the car goes offline, I no longer have control of the vehicle and all mechanical systems are down. Please help me to get this issue resolved before someone gets hurt. While driving uphill, the car lost power, beginning to spurt and stalling. Then the car was not able to accelerate while car kept spurting and stopping. It was a dangerous situation as this happened while we were driving, in the middle of the road, while going uphill. Thankfully it was at night and there were no cars behind us but if there was we would have clashed into it. Towed the vehicle to the dealership and was informed that the same year TUCSON came in the night before with similar problems. It appears that there is a pattern to this safety concern. Please take action before someone gets hurt. Car shutting off like this while driving poses safety concerns for drivers and all the people around it. Even with fix, I don't feel safe driving unless I see actions taken by Hyundai to solve this apparent issue with powertrain/engine.

My wife was with my Aunt and driving at 70mph on PGBT highway and instant the check engine light come on and the car started smelling of burnt equipment and stalled. The horn stopped working. This is a huge safety concern. In a busy intersection unable to warn other drivers not paying attention to the road since horn does not work. This started few days prior with only high tone working, but not low tone (which is very hard to hear from other vehicles since not very loud), then after couple of days no horn at all. Looking online this seems to be a known issue with multiple hyundai cars (venue, tucson, santa fe, elantra etc) and some of them apparently had had to get their horns replaced multiple times since they keep being replaced with defective horn units, yet it is for some reason not a recall yet. Could you please investigate into this? I think there should be a recall for defective horn units. Huge safety concern, accidents could be prevented by fixing this

Within the first year of purchase, my power train system has beeb throwing codes. I took it to the dealership where they assured me nothing was wrong. My fuel injectors then gave out. The dealership replaced them and told me “yes these things are faulty and we see it a lot”. After replacing it, they did not seal the fuel injectors, causing gas to gush out and set my car to smoke. I was ill from inhaling gas fumes for days. They took accountability and said that the injectors were defective in the vehicles and that they would once again fix it. I am not experiencing further engine issues which they do not know how to diagnose. My car is a 2022 purchase from the lot. The engine is defective and Hyundai is negligent. They admitted they were aware of the injector issue but didn’t do much to correct this. After corrected, they almost had my car set on fire from fuel pouring on the engine.

- 12/06/2024· POWER TRAIN
At the end of May 2024 my car was diagnosed with a faulty fuel injector that caused sputtering and problems accelerating. I was driving on a busy freeway when my car began to shake and sputter and lose power. A check engine light came on when the car first started to shake and sputter. I was able to pull off the freeway but, in an area, where I was unfamiliar. I was able contact family nearby who assisted me in driving the car slowly to a Hyundai dealership about 15 miles away. This happened on a holiday weekend and I had to get a rental car as the dealership was unable to service the car for several days. The dealership diagnosed the car as having a faulty fuel injector and a new fuel injector was installed. On December 5, my car again started sputtering and shaking and had problems accelerating. It needed to be towed to a Hyundai dealership about 50 miles away from my home. I am currently waiting for them to diagnose the problem.

On 10-11-24 the panoramic sunroof on our car exploded. We were driving at the time at approx 45mph, clear and 60° out, and we heard a loud bang and in looking around for the cause saw the sunroof looked like crackle glass. We closed the sunshade in case it fell on us, and within a minute it did just that. Had we not closed that shade we would have been showered with glass. We did not see any obstacles coming at us and there were no cars around close enough to throw up a rock. After calling our insurance company to start a claim I did some research online while waiting for the adjuster to call. I discovered the class action suit regarding the exploding sunroofs and realized that is what had just happened to us. I then spoke to Hyundai customer service and started an incident report. We were finally able to take the car to a dealer on 10-31-24 and requested the repair be covered under the limited warranty. They eventually agreed to repair it under warranty and we picked the car up on 11-29-24. We were without the use of it for 7 weeks. We knew we would never trust that it wouldn't happen again and that we would need to trade it in. We did just that 3 days later at a different dealership. Of course we lost money on the car. There were no prior warnings with any lights, noises, or anything. No other vehicles or people were involved and no police report or anything was made. Had we been going faster or on a multiple lane road, or had the glass fallen as soon as it exploded, I believe the shock and reaction would have ended in an accident and severe injury to us or others. Pictures are available but they were taken after we cleaned up the mess.

The contact owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 40-50 MPH, the transmission was shifting hard, and was upshifting and downshifting independently. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was test-driven, but the failure could not be duplicated. Additionally, the manufacturer sent a field technician out who could not duplicate the failure. The manufacturer then informed the contact that the vehicle was not experiencing a failure. The contact also stated that while driving 50 MPH, the Forward Collision Avoidance: Automatic Emergency Braking system engaged while there was no vehicles or objects nearby. The contact depressed the brake pedal to reset the vehicle, then depressed the accelerator pedal and continued driving. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving. The contact stated that he was driving with the Adaptive Cruise Control mode engaged. The contact stated that while changing lanes, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed. The contact stated that he disengaged the Adaptive Cruise Control and depressed the accelerator pedal to drive at highway speeds. The contact stated that the failure recurred on another occasion, then the vehicle independently accelerated to 80 MPH temporarily. The contact stated that while driving uphill and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond and decelerated. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 670. The VIN was unavailable.

The vehicle comes with a panoramic sunroof and there is a ~8inch wide piece of glass that is between the windshield and the sunroof. While driving on the highway, at approximately 80mph, with no other cars or hazards in front of the vehicle, this piece of glass shattered. We heard a loud popping sound, immediately followed by shattering/cracking noises. It was not struck by any rocks or debris. After arriving at my location, the vehicle was immediately inspected at a Hyundai dealership where the determined the damage to be a manufacturing defect. This damage decreases the structural integrity of the vehicle and subjects it to water and electrical damage. There are multitudes of similar reports on forums across the internet. The damage currently remains present on the vehicle and photos have been taken. The damage has been assessed by two Hyundai dealerships but an insurance claim has not been filed as I am currently seeking the damage be covered under the basic 5yr/60,000 mile warranty.

I have a lot of questions. I bought the best trim car for safety, but as a result, nothing worked. The damage to my family caused by this was a lot of damage mentally and physically, and it took a lot of time for these results to come out. That ended my view of Hyundai/Kia as a Korean American living in the U.S. I will never repurchase a Korean car. I suspect a sudden acceleration. I decided to report to NHTSA/BBB/Hyundai Motor America/FTC.

This car has 36,000 miles, purchased new and serviced on schedule. The car is at the dealer for the third time since purchase. The first was a fuel injector issue/drivetrain error. The second time was a bad spark plug. The most current issue is another fuel injector. People on the internet have reported similar problems. The dealership has directed us to come get the car, which is unacceptable, because this is an engine error. I spoke to Hyundai Customer Car and they directed me to rent a car at my own cost and to not drive the car.
- 11/26/2025· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
While driving our 2022 Hyundai Tucson Limited with the 2.5L engine and about 39,000 miles, the check engine light suddenly came on. Right away the car started behaving strangely. The throttle response became jerky and uneven, and when idling the engine ran at a higher RPM than normal and sounded off. The vehicle also struggled to accelerate, which made it feel unsafe to drive. Thankfully this happened while we were not on the highway, but if it had occurred while merging or keeping up with traffic, it could have been dangerous. Even in city driving, the jerky response and slower acceleration created risk. What would normally be a safe turn across or into traffic could easily have turned into a slower, delayed turn and a potential accident. When we got home, I checked the code and it said it was a cylinder misfire on cylinder 3. The car had been regularly serviced at the dealer and had never shown signs of this issue before. Based on the symptoms, I suspect it may be related to the fuel injectors, but we haven’t been able to get the vehicle in for inspection because local dealers are backed up. One dealer even told us it was fine to keep driving as long as the check engine light wasn’t blinking, which feels concerning given the way the car is performing.
- 11/23/2024· ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
While on a trip my wife started out leaving the hotel as normal. After a minute of so, we lost the ability to accelerate as if the Tuscon was not responding to the gas pedal. We were lucky we were in town so we pulled into a gas station and turned off the truck. I thought it might be bad gas so we filled the tank with hi-test and turned off several features that are related to speed control (like tracking the speed limit etc.) I have noticed at the same time we lost the ISG system (Idle stop and Go). The indication in the owner's manual points to a battery function that detects the battery is fully charged. I used a voltmeter and the battery reads 12.5v and is charging at 14v. See today's recall for Hyundai vehicles, I think the problem involves a lot more vehicles. If you check the Hyundai forum, there are a lot of complaints on Tucson as well. I hope you take this into consideration when looking into this intergrated charging control issue.

This 2022 Hyundai Tucson stalled in the middle of a busy highway with my wife in the vehicle. The car suddenyly stalled while going 75mph and she was almost killed and got rear ended. Later we were informed by the dealership that there is a inherent issue with the fuel injection system on these vehicles and the fuel injector has gone bad. These people only replaced the faulty injector. Two months back another injector went bad and then i researched and found this is a bad engineering issue. Now Hyundai is trying to hide behind the veil of Texas Leamon law and is not taking any responsibility or buying back the vehicle. Hyundai forums are full of this problem and many people avoided near death experience because of the stall. I can provide reditt and hyundai forum urls for reference if required.

The vehicle lost acceleration just as I was getting on the freeway ramp. It would move but slowly. I put emergency lights on, drive on the side and crept off the next exit and pulled into parking lot. Shut the vehicle off and checked tires, gas pedal, under hood. All seemed ok. I started the car and it started moving and then went back to hardly moving. I was near the dealership when this happened so took it to dealership/ service. It has had a few episodes we’re it seemed something was wrong with the car prior to this. A dragging or not shifting into gear as it should were I have pulled over to see if my tire had gone flat or something. Then it goes away. The collision avoidance system has been going off randomly when there are no cars around, and also in the middle of traffic when I am more than two car lengths away from other cars; when I am on the highway driving fast and when I am on side streets driving slow, and even in my driveway. Additionally, some of the times that the warning system flashes and sounds off the car brakes and stops in the middle of the road. There is no pattern for when the incidents occur not are there any adverse road conditions. Roads here are flat and this has occurred during periods of no rain. Safety of myself my passengers and other driver is at risk due to the vehicle stopping for no reason. I took the car to the dealer, and they could not duplicate the problem and did not find any issues when checking the diagnostics.

About a year and a half ago the same thing happened to my 2022 Hyundai Tucson N-Line. I have googled around and found many many issues of the same thing happening on 2022 Tucsons.
- 11/14/2024· ENGINE
The vehicle experienced a malfunction in the ignition or fuel delivery system, specifically a misfire detected in cylinder 2 (DTC P030200). This component has been documented by the manufacturer’s vehicle service center as an issue and may be available for inspection upon request. The misfire caused reduced engine power and hesitation during acceleration, posing a safety risk, particularly while merging onto highways or attempting to pass other vehicles. The issue has been reviewed and addressed by the manufacturer dealer service center twice (presently going in for a third time); however, the problem returned each time after a few weeks, with less than approximately 5,000 additional miles driven. The vehicle has not been inspected by police, insurance representatives, or other parties. The "Check Engine" warning lamp illuminated when the failure occurred, accompanied by symptoms of rough idling and reduced performance.
- 11/13/2025· FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,ENGINE
The contact's wife owns a 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that his wife reported that the vehicle shuddered significantly and failed to exceed 30 MPH while driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the fuel injectors were leaking, and the dealer determined that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the manufacturer had redesigned the fuel injectors due to the known failure. The dealer informed the contact that the repair could not be covered under the extended warranty because the vehicle had exceeded the required mileage. The contact was informed that parts needed to be ordered to repair the vehicle. The vehicle had not yet been repaired. The contact related the failure to TSB Number: 22-FL-002H. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was filed; however, no assistance had been provided. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
- 11/13/2022· FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
The automatic emergency braking has numerous false alerts, several times each day. The problem seems to be worse when a vehicle travelling the same direction in a different lane slows. The problem also appears when the Tucson's own shadow shifts directly in front of the car near sunrise and sunset when longer shadows are present. The car will brake hard though there is no risk of forward collision. This creates a danger as vehicles behind my own cannot anticipate this sudden hard braking, thus increasing the risk of a rear end collision.

During the early morning of December 23, 2024, at 2am, the vehicle caught fire in the carport of my house. Upon waking up to the noise, I proceeded to evacuate my family from the house due to the amount of smoke inside. The fire damaged approximately one-third of the house. Prior to this incident, the vehicle showed no defects, and all its services were performed by the same Hyundai dealership workshop where I bought the vehicle.
- 11/12/2025· ENGINE
2022 Tucson (NX4, Alabama built) 2.5L Engine experienced a catastrophic failure leading to Hyundai dealer diagnosis that "Cylinder #3 is not contributing properly," which requires a full engine replacement. The vehicle is currently located at home and is available for inspection upon request. The engine scuffing has resulted in a severe loss of power contribution from Cylinder #3, leading to potential for sudden engine stall or complete loss of motive power while driving. If the engine seizes or stalls at highway speeds or during a critical maneuver (e.g., merging onto a freeway or turning across traffic), it creates an unreasonable risk of a rear-end collision or a catastrophic accident, endangering both the driver and others on the road. Furthermore, the internal mechanical failure creates a significant FIRE RISK due to potential oil leakage onto hot exhaust components. The problem has been confirmed by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, Texas and three independent service centers in Arizona and Texas. All four assessments concluded that the vehicle requires a full engine replacement due to severe internal damage. Inspected by Hyundai Service Center in El Paso, TX. Despite confirming failure, Hyundai refuses to provide critical diagnostic data (Power Balance Test, Endoscopic Inspection, DTCs) and the determined root cause. This refusal hinders warranty transparency. The Check Engine Light (CEL) did not illuminate. Symptoms appeared late September 2025 at approximately 88,000 miles (audible engine noise/scuffing, rough idle, significant power loss). This failure at non-typical mileage demonstrates a severe internal defect and a safety system malfunction (failure of the ECU/CEL to adequately warn the driver). Note: Dashcam video documentation of the engine failure symptoms (audible noise and power loss) is available and can be presented to investigators upon request.

2 months ago our engine control system warning light came on with a great decrease in speed while driving on the freeway. Brought to Hyundai dealership and was determined that fuel injector 1 misfired and needed replacement. Just last week exact same issue in fuel injector 4 occurred. They admitted issues with 2022 Tuscon injectors but won’t replace until they fail as no recall. This is a massive safety issue as can be driving at a high rate of speed and speed slows immediately.

I bought my brand new car about 4 months ago. When i bought the car it was raining and i mentioned about the driver side wiper not working properly. They told me i have warranty and just bring it in when i can. I made an appointment and i have been there 2 times with same issue. The issue is the wiper skips on the windshield and makes loud bang when it goes to the left of the wndshield. I changed the factory wipers to brand new $30.00 Bosch and they same thing happened until 2 weeks the wiper finally just broke. I am on my 4th driver side wiper since i bought the car brand new 4 - 5 months ago. All i ask them is to replace the wiper arm but they told me until there is a recall they cannot replace it. Even though they see the issue. I cannot drive my suv if it rains out and in florida it rains everyday. The wiper just skips while making loud screacing noise. The Advisor told me that universal hyundai sold me the car without the lining on the windshield and idk what that means. I take my car to same dealer i bought the suv at. Please have a solution so i can get this fixed. Thank You
- 11/11/2022· LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
I bough my new suv around 4 to 5 months ago. Since i bought it and this only happened about 3 times. I was on highway and with no cars on the highway and myself going 70 the collision in the front came on and emergency breaking saying im about to hit something. But nothing was there. This also happened when i reversed too. The brakes would slam on saying collision. Also when im driving in a straight line the lane detection moves me in the middle of the road to the white lines are under my car and i am driving on 2 lanes. It keeps trying to move me over to other lane even though im in the correct lane. I have almost got into like 7 accidents. I already brought my car to the dealer and they told me there is no fix for that. I am not the first to come in saying the same thing.

My camera and backup system have not been working correctly since early March of 2024. It has been in service seven times since then, at two different dealers and no service department has been able to fix the problem. There were no warning signs at all, the camera and backup just stopped working. It has been fixed 7 times and each time it has worked leaving the dealership from six through ten days. Occasionally it has gone out, comes back on, but never lasts for more than a day or two. I have notified Hyundai Corporation and have been working with a customer service representative but she has not been able to be terribly helpful. Hyundai tells the service department what parts to order, they do, but the problem has never been fixed successfully. The vehicle has been examined and fixed by two Hyundai service departments. I hit a pole in the West Palm Beach Airport, my camera and back up system were not working, the pole was below the view of the mirrors and it resulted in 2000.00 worth of damage which I paid for out of pocket. The date of this incident was March 23, 2025. I did not call the police as it did not involve another car so technically I guess it was an incident rather than an accident. I do not feel safe driving this car, especially during evening hours.

I am writing to express my deep concerns regarding a series of ongoing safety issues with our HYUNDAI TUCSON 2022 (leased in 2022). We have encountered alarming problems that are affecting the safety and reliability of the vehicle. On July 29, 2023, my husband was driving the vehicle up a sharp incline when the car started shaking/jolting and abruptly shut off. This resulted in a highly dangerous situation as the car began to roll back. He was unable to restart the vehicle, and it had to be towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership. It took over a week for the dealership to address and rectify the issue...so we thought (see below). Also, please note that there was smoke coming out from the exhaust when the tow truck came. It looked like smoke from a flame inside. Fast forward to November 8, 2023, the vehicle was experiencing the same issue as before: continuous shaking/jolting, and the vehicle abruptly shut off once again... stalling in the middle of a highway. A police officer saw what happened and helped my husband relocate the vehicle to the shoulder of the highway to avoid oncoming traffic/collision. He waited with my husband as he kept trying to get the vehicle to turn on. After 30 min, he was able to get it back on. The "check engine" light was illuminated. My husband drove home while the car was still shaking/jolting. We plan to, once again, have it towed to the nearest Hyundai dealership today. We were told the issue had been "resolved" from the last time this happened in July. Clearly, it was not resolved and I feel this vehicle should be recalled. These recurring problems are deeply unsettling for a vehicle that is not even two years old. Given the repeated and unresolved safety issues with this vehicle, I am concerned for the safety of myself, my family, my unborn child as I am expecting and other road users. I would like to request your immediate attention and intervention to address these problems effectively.

In the last 4 months my vehicle has had 2 bad fuel injectors. In both instances my check engine light came in while I was driving down the road. The vehicle shuttered and could not accelerate. Luckily both times J was close to home and was able to turn around. This came with no warning. Both times, I had previously driven the car that day with no issues. When I went out for another trip, the vehicle then had an issue. I am concerned the fuel injectors for this vehicle/model may have a defect of some kind, as I have lost two in a very short amount of time. If this happened in a congested area or highway it could absolutely present a safety issue. The first incident occurred when the vehicle had about 59,000 miles on it.

I just bought this car back in february. It has 50k miles on it. Five minutes after starting it, and in the middle of a busy road, my accelerator suddenly stopped working, my car started shaking, and then it died. My dash lit up and it turns out, it was an issue with the factory fuel injectors.

The audio suddenly stopped working (no warnings). This happened 3 times within the last few weeks. Dealer have fixed it each time (i.e. audio is back). Without audio important safety audio warning is not working. Dealer told us Hyundai won't fix it because it will cost over $3000 to replace the amplifier.

Running lean on bank 1-Dealership states it is a bad fuel injector on cylinder 1says it is not covered under 100,000 mile warranty. Vehicle currently at 80,000 mile. Radio in vehicle is restarting itself and not shutting off when car is turned off. Radio does not respond to commands such as volume adjustment. Dealership performed software update, but it did not work.
