To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report an ongoing and concerning issue with my 2022 Ford Edge. My vehicle has begun hesitating when pressing the accelerator and jerking between 20 mph and 40 mph. Some days the issue is worse than others, but it has progressively made the vehicle feel unreliable and unsafe to drive. At times, it feels as though the vehicle may break down while in motion. After researching this issue, I have found that many other Ford Edge owners are experiencing the same symptoms, with the torque converter frequently identified as the cause. This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. Additionally, the vehicle will coast between approximately 2,000 and 5,000$. This behavior is not normal and raises serious concerns regarding drivability, safety, and long-term damage to the transmission. Given how common this issue appears to be among Ford Edge vehicles, I strongly believe this warrants further investigation and the establishment of a recall. Owners should not be financially responsible for a known and recurring manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Ford address this issue promptly and take responsibility for repairs associated with this problem. I appreciate your time and look forward to a resolution. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I got the Edge in 02/18/23 purchased brand. I noticed that the drivers seat is loose. I actual took into the dealer where it was purchased and I was told it would take 3 months to look at it. Needless to say I didn't leave the vehicle. I also notice that body trim was coming off and I filed a claim with Ford but I was told a dealer would have to send pictures and they would decide if they would cover it under warranty. The lane keep assist or Ford Co-pliot will over compensate and if not careful will cause a crash.
- 12/23/2022· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The day after purchasing my new 2022 Ford Edge, I was driving from the grocery store when I noticed a clacking sound. I stopped the car and looked around and under the car. It appeared that a metal band that held up a tank was dragging on the ground. I drove half a mile to my home and called my car dealer. He instructed me to drive the car to the Ford service department, about 5 miles away. I am presently waiting to receive a report from the service department.I am concerned that this is an example of a quality control failure and that it was an unreasonable safety risk to drag a gas tank full of fuel on the road.

Stuttering between 10-35mph no warning lights went to dealer to get and fuel injection flushed but was told i couldnt do so bc i needed to have transmission looked at and then was advised that i would have to leave it at the dealership for 2weeks with no loaner before anyone could look at it which meant that i had to pay for a rental while waiting just to see if that was the issue the. To be told it will be about 8000 to replace the transmission

I'm getting warning lights on the dash that indicated that ABS, traction control, cruise control and collision mitigation are inoperable. The dealership service dept. had the vehicle for over 2 weeks trying to diagnose the problem in conjunction with Ford engineers. they finally determined the the issue was a bad ABS module. They then informed me that the needed parts were not available and it might take 2weeks, 2months or longer to get. This condition has existed since the day the car was delivered. As of now, the car has about 600 miles on it. We're reluctant to drive the car because we feel the vehicle is unsafe, particularly in winter road conditions. We are at a loss as to how to proceed and are hoping you cab help us resolve this problem. Thank you, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

A month ago I rear ended somebody. I take full responsibility for this. However the crash alert did not go off. Yesterday I was driving down the road in the dark at about 6:00 AM, by myself, nobody else around and the crash alert went off for about two minutes saying that I was about ready to get into a wreck. Ford did look at it two weeks ago, they had one of their techs walk around it make sure that the crash alert would go off and apparently it did.

The faulty back door lift and/or sensor resulted in the back door closing without activating the close button and it hit me in the head and shoulders several times while I put groceries in and/or removing them from the back area. I was unable to activate the foot sensor to open or close the back door when I purposely tried to open the back door using the foot sensor. After bringing the vehicle to the dealer for an oil change and informing them that this occurred 3 months after purchase, they informed me they did not have time to look at it and I had to make a different appointment. Also they stated they did not have any other concerns or complaints involving the back door closing without activating the close button. We live 4 hours away from the dealer and when I made the appointment to have it checked, that morning before leaving home, my husband went to help me pack afew items in the back and the door slammed so hard and hit him in the head causing a small laceration, headache and neck discomfort. At that point, the door did not stay open at all and slammed closed hard, with all the weight of the door. The dealer did not have the part and told me to be careful until fixed. I am afraid to use the back area now because it is hard for me to hold the door open to use the back. The door slams with such strong force that it could cause great bodily injury if you were caught there when the door slammed shut. The part was ordered the same day on 10/14/22 and I did not get an appointment until 11/2/22 to get it fixed. A great SAFETY concern especially if one had small children and this happened.

The vehicle has been examined by the leasing dealer's service department and they were unable to resolve the concern. In multiple communications with Ford Customer Support dept and the leasing dealer service manager, the issue is known, but THERE IS NO RESOLUTION PLAN ISSUED BY FORD. I wanted to report that on this vehicle Ford has a very unsafe and hazardous horn. I just purchased the car and had to use the horn for the first time yesterday to avoid a car hitting me. I avoided an accident but the other driver said they did not hear my horn. The horn sound is not loud at all and i thought it was defective. I had others listen to it and they all were amazed at how ineffective the volume was. I did some research on line and found i am not the only one that complained about this to Ford. Apparently Ford changed the horn assembly in sometime after 2017 on the Ford Edge to save money. Apparently there is no federal standard for horn decibel levels on automobiles. I travel with small grandchildren in this car and feel this makes it unsafe, as many, many others do after researching this. It is a disaster just waiting to happen. Can you confirm that there are no regulations for automobile horns other than that they work? I just wanted to bring this up as it is dangerous to drove a vehicle like this. Interested in knowing if you have received any other complaints. Most of the research i have done shows owners actually having the horn assembly removed and replaced with one that actually works correctly at their own expense. Seems Ford should be held accountable for this defect. Seems the opted for profit over safety here. Thanks.
