Within a 48 hour period, the vehicle twice displayed "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" and immediately lost engine power at highway speeds when driving with my two young children in the car. Narrowly escaped major accidents while trying to pull over to side of road. Car is at dealer now and they suspect transmission problem.
- 12/23/2024· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE
Driving on the freeway going roughly 70 MPH, on electrical power, and several instances (XXX, XXX, XXX, XXX, XXX) the dashboard displayed 'Stop Safely, Vehicle will Shut Off Soon' with a red turtle icon, also known as Limp Mode. In all instances we were able to safely maneuver over to the shoulder, turn off the engine for 1-2 minutes, and turn the vehicle back on. In most instances, the Check Engine light remained for a period of time (sometimes just a few hours, others a day). I have taken the vehicle in to 2 separate Chrysler dealerships. The first at CDJR of Los Angeles, who sent a STAR team and was unable to diagnose/replicate the issue, so they claim the issue had been solved. The second at CDJR of LAX where they replaced the Power Inverter Module (and also tightened a loose nut, which was another safety concern). Since both of those visits, the issue has persisted, including the loose nut which made a clunk sound every time when accelerating. This is a serious safety concern. I have spoken with Stelantis, and they refuse to take responsibility to resolve the issue. They only provide the robotic response that 'since the dealer cannot replicate the issue, they cannot do anything.' Complete [XXX]. The dealer has acknowledge error code P0843 in my vehicle, but currently it is not 'active', whatever that means. This is a serious problem that needs to be fixed! This is a good vehicle when it works. I love the PHEV that after 2 years, I only have 16k miles, and most of my miles, as my daily driver, are on electric power. But the issue with this error are severe. Chrysler was aware that there were cars stopping without prior notification, so their solution was updating the software so the system would have these notifications to alert the driver. What baloney! That does fix the issue! INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
- 12/21/2024· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
As I was driving on the highway, the warning "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" with a red turtle icon appeared. The warning indicator light also appeared. The car began to decelerate on its own as I tried to merge across several lanes of highway traffic to get to the shoulder and stop. This first happened on Thursday December 12 (also in a highway scenario). The vehicle was inspected by my dealer from December 16-18. During that time the dealer updated software and replaced drivers side PHEV engine mount. The dealer cites "Bulletin 21-042-24" as guidance for their troubleshooting. The dealer says if the problem returns, the vehicle will "need transmission according to bulletin 21-042-24." I drove the vehicle fine on December 19-20 but the problem returned on Saturday, December 21. So the problem has occurred twice in 9 days.
- 12/21/2022· POWER TRAIN
I was driving on a 40 mph road when the minivan flashed a message on the dashboard that the engine was off and I needed to put the car in Park to restart it- essentially the car stalled while I was driving 40 mph. Luckily it was 10 pm with few cars around and I was able to merge across 4 lanes and turn on a side street as the car rolled to a stop against a curb. I tried for 5 minutes to do as the car message was indicating- put the car in Park, turn the engine on, but the car would not return to normal function, Drive would not engage, the car would not accelerate. Eventually I got the car to successfully turn off, turn on, and engage in Drive mode, and I was able to drive the rest of the way home, however the engine light remained illuminated the entire drive (the car's app calls this the "Malfunction Indicator Light"), and I was very nervous about the situation repeating and not being in a position where I could easily pull over, so I took the smallest side streets I could to wind my way home in case I had to pull over again with a moment's notice. I checked the car the next morning- the engine light is still illuminated. I called the dealership and they told me the earliest diagnostics appointment they could offer me is 7 weeks from now, and the best advice they could give me was that as long as the engine light was not "flashing" then it was not imminently dangerous to drive, and that it could be "anything" (possibly minor) causing the engine light to be illuminated. I am afraid to drive the vehicle in case this happens again and they are offering me a 7 week wait to have something done about it. Forums I read have said this is a common, documented problem. This is a supremely dangerous event depending on where one happens to be driving at the random moment that the malfunction takes place.

The vehicle warning said it would shut down and to pull over immediately (the "Loss of Motive Power" issue known to these vehicles). THe vehicle is available as it has been sitting at the dealership waiting for the transmission for FOUR MONTHS. This occurred on 8/19/23 and as of today, 12/20/23, the transmission is yet to be replaced. I was driving on a 70mph highway with my two small children in the backseat. It was terrifying to lose power steering and the inability to accelerate. I had to pull over on the busy highway and turn off the van, wait a little bit, then turn it back on. I made it about another 1-2 miles when it did it AGAIN. I did the same thing, turned it off/on again, and then made it to the next exit to wait for a tow truck. Yes, this is the known Transmission issue with the Pacifica Hybrids made through Jan 2023. This was confirmed by the Chrysler dealership I had it towed to and inspected by then, there was no police or insurance report. It has not been test-driven or reproduced, to my knowledge, as they know what the issue is and have been waiting for four months to fix it. The dash displayed the known warning with this issue immediately when it happened the two times it occurred, there was no warning beforehand or any symptoms of any issue with the vehicle. The dash displayed "Stop Safely. Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon."

While driving on a road, vehicle came to a sudden stop and began bucking wildly. Dash indicator said to place vehicle in park, but gear selector knob was unresponsive the first few tries, but was eventually successful. Attempted to put in drive to move from roadway and vehicle began bucking again, bucking continued regardless of gear selected. Attempted to place vehicle in neutral for tow truck, and bucking continued in neutral. Two children and two adults were placed in danger when the vehicle came to a sudden stop on a road and could not be moved. Big O Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram at 2645 Laurens Rd Greenville, SC 29607 received the vehicle for warranty repair. Big O was advised that the issue was likely a transmission failure common to this model and trim of vehicle. Big O's service technician replaced the fuel pump control module, which is a relatively low cost repair compared to servicing or replacing the faulty transmission. This repair was unrelated to the transmission failure and unlikely to resolve the issue. Big O returned the vehicle to the owner and the transmission issues continued in their parking lot. By returning the vehicle in an unrepaired state, Big O placed the safety of the driver in danger by clearing her to drive an unrepaired and unsafe vehicle on public roads.

Driving on highway and car shut off with a "Stop safely soon / vehicle turning off" warning message, a red turtle warning, and the Malfunction Indicator Light on. Pulled off on shoulder. Turned car off. Turned car back on. Malfunction Indicator Light remained on but red turtle was gone. I was able to get to my destination. Malfunction Indicator Light remained on for next few driving cycles, but then went off after fourth drive. My safety was definitely put at risk as I was driving on the highway at 60-70MPH when the car just shut down and slowly decelerated on its own. Because the MIL ultimately went off after my fourth drive, I thought I was in the clear--as the Chrysler manual says this light can come on if you've had a recent servicing because the on-board diagnostics may just be recalibrating. I had my car serviced 9 days previous to the incident. The manual says if the light doesn't go off on its own, then bring it in. It went off on its own, so I thought I was in the clear. However I see in online forums this has happened to others multiple times and I'm worried it will happen to me again. I am calling my dealer tomorrow. Thank you for taking this report!

Driving from Louisiana to Kansas for the holidays in our 2022 Pacifica Hybrid, and received notice popped up that car was about to shut down and pull off road quickly. This appears to be associated with a recall we did take the car in for but apparently the recall only changed software to tell you the car was about to shut down and didn't fix the issue with the car actually shutting down! This happened to us 4 times. 3 times we had time and space to pull over, wait, and restart. 4th time was immediate note and shutdown but fortunately we were at a stop light and cars could go around us until we were able to restart. We could have been seriously injured or killed had this happened on a busy interstate. This was a Saturday so no service open and I couldn't risk putting my family back in that car so Monday when dealership was open I drove to dealership. Renting a car was to be very expensive $3500 or so to drive back up around end of year. No dealers within 60 miles could even look at the car for several days, and repair was going to be 1-3 months from what dealer and on-line info about it looked to be. My best option was to trade it off when I got it to the dealership but a very costly option! This issue needs to be fixed or people are going to be seriously injured or killed. The warning doesn't give but a few seconds to get off the road and that won't work on an interstate going through a major city! I don't know if the car is fixed as the dealer has it now and we have a new Pacific at much cost to us.

We were driving our Chrysler Pacifica hybrid on the highway and it stalled and said put into park and completely turned off. This letter is for a near fatality while driving my new 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid on October 30th, 2023. While driving back home on a dark and stormy night with poor visibility on i87 North my 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid shutdown nearly causing a fatal accident. My 3 kids (ages 4, 5, and 8) were in the car with me. The car blinked power and i lost motor function (no acceleration), the car went from around 70-75 miles per hour to almost 40 forcing me to try and get over to the shoulder. During this stressful process a mac truck nearly ran us off the road traumatizing me and my kids. While on the shoulder I tried everything to get the car back on, after turning off and on the car several times I was able to drive very slowly (max speeds of 1-20 miles per hour) with me pressing the gas pedal at full throttle. I was able to get off the New Palz exit which was 4 miles from the incident and call triple A for a tow truck back to Dutches Dodge. Since the incident, I've been working with FCA and looking for guidance on what can be done for my Family. The process has been very difficult with Dutches Dodge refusing to talk to us. Chrysler failed me with an unsafe car, I feel punished for being a responsible and safe driver. I brought in the car for recall 03A/NHTSA 23v-010 in July which did a software update for an internal transmission wiring connector. Based on the FCA case [XXX], I was told the STAR investigation found fault 21-008-23 which is for the internal transmission wiring connector. The software update does not seem to fix the issue, how many others are at risk? The car was proposed new on 12/13/2023 and had less than 12000 miles on it, all we know is the car needs an entire new transmission and new recall which we were not aware of for a serpentine belt. How can Chrysler assure us that the issue is fixed? Since the incident I have been dealing with post traumatic stress. Apart from having to take time off work and losing motivation I've felt that FCA does INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) The contact stated the vehicle was out for repairs for over 30 days and the dealer informed contact that it does not qualify for refund due to a recall. Have a 2022 Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle which we picked up 10/8. This incident occured 11/3, Issue occurred with car under 1000 miles driven. So less than 1 month of ownership. Driving on 4 lane highway during stop and go traffic. Driving approximately 15-20 MPH. Car suddenly loses all forward motive power with engine light and battery light flashing on dashboard. in center dash it was saying "Service Charging System". Luckily, was able to coast to shoulder of highway. Was unable to restart car for 15 minutes, Car kept saying to put into P and until after completely turning the car off by opening the driver side door to simulate leaving the vehicle, and then closing the door. Drove to dealer and car stored DTC P0A45 error code, which they cleared and test drove for 50 miles. They could not reproduce the issue. Losing driving power is very dangerous while driving at any speed! this is a HUGE safety concern for my family with two small children. This needs to be investigated and a cause determined! This is a major accident or even death waiting to happen!

On Aug 26th, 2023, I was driving on NJ turnpike. under the speed limit of 65 mph. I was raining a bit and rain intensity picked up. I had both my hand on steering wheel. As I tap on the brakes a little bit to further slow down my vehicle, the brakes got locked and the vehicle started spinning and the went into the ditch divider between lanes. Fortunately nobody was hurt in the vehicle. It was a rental vehicle and I was driving it from 12th of August. I had driven that vehicle for about 12 days and I recollect that braking of that vehicle was always a bit odd. I've been driving for over 20 years and never had I ever had such braking experience. I thought it was atypical because I was not used to hybrid vehicle braking, but in hindsight their may have been more to it.

Twice while driving on the highway the accelerator stopped working and the dash acted as if the car was off - it instructed to hold the brake and press the start button to turn it on. After coasting over to the side of the road I was able to put it in park, but pressing the power button did not turn it off. The check engine light and battery light were both on (they turned on as soon as the car "shut off") We had to disconnect the 12V battery and reconnect it to reset the system and then it started normally - we googled the problem to find this fix so apparently it is not uncommon. Both times it happened on the highway with a 75mph speed limit, where it is incredibly dangerous for you car to just stop working!

The vehicle is equipped with multizone AC, and one day the REAR passenger AC system malfunctioned. This occurred during the heatwave period this summer. The AC would not turn off, after multiple attempts, neither through the infotainment screen nor the manual buttons. We tried all possible ways to turn it off and it would not. Furthermore, it was automatically set to high heat, and the temperature also could not be changed. It is available for inspection if needed. Our [XXX] child was the rear seat occupant at the time, and was on the verge of overheating. We took the vehicle to the dealership, explained the issue in detail, and also showed them the clear video evidence of the problem. Because the issue was intermittent, they did not inspect it nor repaired it because it was working fine in their possession. Manufacturer was also notified of the issue, and repeated the same dialogue as the dealer, which is, that they can not resolve it if they can not reproduce it. There were no warning codes, lights, or messages for this issue. After receiving the vehicle back from the dealer, unrepaired, the problem happened again the same day. It is now back at another dealer hoping to be repaired and the issue diagnosed/reproduced. This is making us very nervous if it happens again, during a freeway drive or a long road trip, our road safety and children's health is at risk. The dealership and manufacturer have not demonstrated urgency for this matter, and treat it as any other "intermittent" issue. They advised us to bring it back if it occurs again. Should we really be testing these diagnostics on the road with our children's safety or comfort at stake? Thank you for giving us the opportunity to bring this matter to your attention. I was driving the vehicle in the middle lane of a 3-lane (one direction) interstate highway when a message appeared on the dashboard "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon," the check engine light turned on and the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate so it was extremely challenging to navigate to the side of the road safely through busy rush hour traffic. As the driver I had zero ability to accelerate the vehicle whatsoever, the gas pedal did absolutely nothing, which can lead to an accident on the highway due to other vehicles moving very quickly and not expecting a vehicle that is not at the right of the road to come to a stop. I brought the vehicle to the Chrysler Dealership where they initially stated this is a known issue and they would be replacing the transmission and that the transmission is under 10-year/unliminted miles warranty for this specific error (POA43 Driver Motor), however once the dealership spoke with Chrysler corporate, they indicated that they would simply be clearing the code and they returned the car to us. We were advised to bring the vehicle back when the error recurs. We opted to sell the vehicle immediately instead, because it it not safe to drive now, but unfortunately this means we are passing the problem on to another consumer as Chrysler refuses to fix the problem. The case number they assigned is Case #[XXX]. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Twice now driving on the freeway in my brand new 2022 Plug-in Pacifica with 10K miles— all of a sudden there is a rumble (feels like a down shift) and the vehicle won’t accelerate. The dash message started flashing “Put in P to Start.” However, the car is still on and in “run.” I pulled over, put the vehicle in park, and turned it off. Then I had to push start button several times to unlock the shifter to go to drive again. A check engine light came on. The first time it happened, I finished my trip. Later that day when I had parked the car for a few hours the check engine light went off. The second incident happened a week later. The engine light came on. So I dove to the closest Auto Zone for a code reading. It came back at: P0A43.

While driving on the freeway, check engine light came on, all acceleration power was lost, car directed me to “put car in park, press brake, and push start button.” This led to extremely dangerous situation of having to navigate traffic and reach the shoulder with no ability to accelerate. Vehicle was powered down and restarted and was able to return to the road. This has happened 10 times total. This is the first reoccurrence since getting the power inverter module replaced at the dealership four days ago.

I was driving on the interstate with adaptive cruise control active. The gasoline engine was running. The vehicle suddenly made a "ding" sound, and the main driver screen displayed an error message "Stop Safely. The Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon". The engine shut down and vehicle completely lost motive power. I had to rapidly change across three lanes of traffic to reach the shoulder while losing speed, where I eventually parked with the hazard lights on. As we sat parked on the shoulder, the driver screen screen also showed a red battery-shaped indicator in the upper left, and an orange speedometer with an exclamation point in the upper right.

2022 Hybrid pacifica limited Breakdown on freeway, accelarator became unresponsive and car stopped. Hi all, I have a pacifica hybrid 2022 limited with 8000 miles on it. Less then 7 months old.I ran into a very dangerous situation last Monday. I was driving on a freeway and car Brokedown on freeway, accelarator unresponsive , HMI said shift P to start , gear change didn't do anything and blinking, check engine light came up. It was very dangerous and someohow I was able to get into Shoulder lane and with God's grace we survived. After 3 4 minutes I was able to get my car turn off and on and then it drove normal. So I decided to take it in nearby open parking area and get it towed from there but even then it broke down 4 times. This is serious life threatening especially with family. I got it towed to dealership and they said next day a Software update fixed it which was hard to believe so i asked them to drive for 25 miles and guess what ? Same issue happened again. So car is back to service now and I haven't heard anything back. Worst part is i had similar issue of car shutting down but that time it was in electric mode related to service charging and this was in gas mode with check engine light ON. I just wanted to see if anyone else had similar issue and how it got resolved? Thanks for the help. I am attaching some videos

I was driving on the highway on cruise control at 75 mph. Since the car is a hybrid plug-in it first uses the electric battery which contains 30 miles of usage. Once that drains out, then the engine takes control. about 8 miles after the electric battery drained out the van showed a message saying “please pull over safely car will turn off soon”. Within seconds I was not able to push on the gas pedal to go faster to get off the highway. I ended up being stuck between the main highway and a merging Lane. the worst part was I was alone with my two babies under two years old stuck on the highway, not on the shoulder. We are also in Arizona and it is very dangerous to not have AC in a car for babies. My air conditioning ended up not working after a couple minutes while I’m stuck on the highway. The car is still running but the steering wheel is locked and I am unable to push on the gas to move. I ended up getting a tow truck from AAA after 45 mins. my van has been at the Chrysler dealership for a week and they will not do anything about this situation. They say nothing is wrong. There is a current lawsuit in the state of Michigan with multiple Chrysler Pacifica van owners across the US in regards to the transmissions failing, and Chrysler is not doing anything about it. This is so dangerous for everyone, especially families with young children. this problem needs to be fixed immediately and to be taking seriously to protect all those on the road.

While driving on major highway, A/C stopped blowing cold air. Out side temperature above 80 degrees. Engine light came on, and later quick warning to this effect" caution, car will shut off soon" And less than 15 seconds or so engine turned off and we LUCKILY coasted across lanes to the breakdown lane. That could have been disastrous! Car would not restart. After about an hour we were able to restart the car and driver again for maybe 30 minutes before AC shut off again. This time we made it to an unscheduled hotel. Next morning car was fine, ran fine to our destination.4 days later driving home. Temp above 80. While driving, vehicle chimes and displays "Stop Safely Vehicle will Shut Off Soon." While brakes and steering remain available, throttle control is instantly gone and vehicle needs to be coasted to a safe stop. Upon powering off and waiting ~10 minutes, the vehicle will restart (with check engine light and "service charing system" displayed) and drive normally. This situation happened four times while attempting to make it back home safely (once on an interstate traveling ~70 mph, twice on a highway traveling ~55 mph, and once in town at ~30 mph). Thankfully all situations had adequate shoulder and understanding traffic, but with instant loss of power, the vehicle is incredibly dangerous.

While driving approximately 35mph and without any warning, the vehicle suddenly slammed on the brakes and came to a stop in the middle of the road. If another vehicle had been following behind there could have been a collision. The forward collision alert might have gone off; afterwards most of the warning lights were on. We were able to slowly power through the brakes to a nearby parking lot. We could not turn off the car or put the transmission in Park or Neutral, it was completely immobilized. All of the transmission lights were on and could not be changed by turning the dial. The vehicle was towed to a dealership and has been waiting for diagnosis for over 3 weeks.

Outside temperature was over 80 degrees, we were driving long distance on a highway. First the air conditioning failed. Then the "Remaining miles on battery" started to go up ( even though it had been a long time since we charged). When it got to about 12, we got a dashboard message that said "Engine shutting down, get to a safe place". We pulled over just in time as the engine did shut off, the shutdown happened in about 15 seconds. The car did not restart for at least 30 minutes. Message said something about "Check charging system". This happened repeatedly, leaving us in dangerous conditions on the side of the very busy highway. "Check Engine" light was on. At least once we had a message that said something about "Check Powertrain". One dealer checked the code on his computer, but could not help any further as they were too busy. He would not give us the paper with the code. We took the car to a dealer when we got home. The "Check Engine" light had turned off, but the dealer cannot find any problems with the car. It is a huge safety problem when your car shuts down with very little notice. We are afraid to drive the car now.

We purchased a 2022 Pacifica Hybrid in Feb of 2024 that is still under full factory warranty. We had the vehicle serviced once for A/c issues and it's regularly scheduled 30k mile service in April and May. [XXX] our van had a. Catastrophic failure in Texas, where it has remained since June 1st. The deep cycle hybrid battery overheated, making it inoperable. They have replaced the deep cycle hybrid battery twice-those batteries run 15-16k$, plus the additional parts and labor. Stellantis customer service promised rental reimbursement for the 2 vehicles we had to rent to continue our trip to Arizona. Then they declined to reimburse for both. They also stated they would pay for rentals ongoing while our van was in Texas and after we rented a van for two additional weeks, refused to pay for that. We requested a buyback at week 7 and that was denied. Two weeks ago, they stated the van was repaired and it sat in Texas while the dealership argued with Stellantis customer service about who was responsible for returning our van. Finally chrysler agreed to ship it to us and while the area manager was driving the van to the loading point for the shipping company, it had the same catastrophic failure. Chrysler had it towed to a different dealership in Texas and that dealership says they are going to start over and hopefully they can diagnose the issue fully, but they will have to replace the battery for a. 3rd time, totaling 4 batteries in 3 months or 64k$..The vehicle purchase price was 42k$. We purchased extensive extended warranties. We put down 24,500$ in cash and trade. We have since found out that a dealer in New Jersey put this car back on the market after they knew there was something wrong with it and made it someone else's problem. The selling dealership had no way of knowing the vehicle battery would overheat in the summer, as they purchased it from auction in November and sold it to us in Feb. While driving on the freeway using adaptive cruise control, the display indicated that the adaptive cruise control was canceled. I did not cancel the adaptive cruise control. The vehicle decelerated and appeared to turn off completely. The gas peddle did not respond, I was unable to accelerate. The screen then displayed “push button to start”, as though the car was off. I was able to pull onto the shoulder of the freeway, toggle the car into park, and press the start button while pressing the break. Then, the screen display battery light and check engine light turned on. The display said automatic high beams disabled. The vehicle would not respond to pressing the start button while pressing the brake. Finally, I held the start button down while pressing the break for a long period of time. My seat moved back automatically like the car was turned off. I was then able to restart the car and drive to the nearest exit. This is a very dangerous problem that needs to be thoroughly investigated. I am fortunate I was able to get to the shoulder of the road without causing an accident. The vehicle is currently at the nearest dealership, we are awaiting news of the cause.

Driving on a major highway with little to no shoulder, we were accelerating up a slight incline going 65 miles per hour on a route loaded with semi trucks. As we accelerated the engine cut off taking away the ability to accelerate. We had to pull to the shoulder and the vehicle kept cycling all of its lights on and off. We were able to get the car moving again and within 5 minutes the same thing happened, engine turned off. Vehicle was towed to a Chrysler dealer, it showed 17 error codes thrown, Chrysler's policy was to reset the codes and drive 25 miles to replicate if it doesn't replicate send it home which is what they did. As our family was again on a highway accelerating the engine cut off with no ability to accelerate. We turned the vehicle off and started it again and the engine cut off leaving us to coast off the highway. We were driving on the highway when we got a warning to pull over safely as the vehicle will shut down soon. The accelerator became unresponsive, and the vehicle began losing power. This has happened a number of times and we took it into the dealer who replaced the transmission. However, on various social media sites, it has been reported that this has been happening to many many people. This is an extremely dangerous situation for so many people unaware of the potential. As I understand it, they replace the transmission with a like transmission. The problem is not actually being solved. They are simply offering a short term fix with the potential for it to happen again. It is reported by others that their second transmission has done the same thing. With about 4000 miles on the van, I was driving down the freeway at 75 mph when the vehicle turned off, the check engine light illuminated, and all forward motive power was lost. Once stopped and off the road, the car was completely shut off. After a few minutes of waiting, the van was able to restart and be driven. This same loss of power occurred multiple times more in an effort to get the van to the dealership. The Power Invertor Module was replaced but the vehicle still experienced the loss of power. The next step was to completely replace the transmission. After 4000 more miles, the same issue occurred and the dealership once again replaced the transmission. After 7000 more miles, the loss of power occurred again and this time a wiring harness on the transmission was replaced. The very day we received the car back, it had the same loss of power, so it was decided by the dealership to completely replace the transmission again. The vehicle is on its fourth transmission and the van only has 17,000 miles on it. Every time this occurs, the check engine light comes on and gives an error code of "faulty Drive Motor A position sensor". The safety of me and my family is threatened every time there is a complete loss of power at highway speeds. The problem is reproducible and fully acknowledged and confirmed by the service staff. Over the span of 10 months this van has been in for service 5 times for a minimum of 7 days to over a month sometimes. Chrysler has not offered to buy back or replace the vehicle and has not offered a loaner until they can figure out a true repair.

Was driving on freeway with my family, including my one year old baby and four year old daughter in the back, when a warning message came on dashboard stating "Stop Safely Vehicle Will Shut Off Soon" and van suddenly died in the middle of the freeway. Had to immediately cross multiple lanes and was terrified I was going to get hit by a big rig or other vehicle passing by. The safety of my family was absolutely put at risk. Contacted Chrysler dealership immediately but told they did not have any available appointments and could not examine the van until Thursday, 07/21/2023. Took the van to local dealership on Thursday, 07/21/23. Next day received a call and was told that the transmission needs to be replaced. The van was new when we bought it in February 2022 and had less than 15K miles when this incident happened. Was told by dealership that it could be months before the van can be repaired and that no loaner cars were available but that I would be placed on a wait list for a loaner car. Instructed by dealer to contact Chrysler Cares, which I did. Was assigned a case number by Chrysler Cares and told that someone would get back to me within 48-72 business hours, but that in the meantime there was nothing that could be done about the fact that the one vehicle we rely on to transport our kids is in the shop.
