  The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that while her son was driving at 55 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate and stalled. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was unsure whether the driver was able to coast to the side of the road. The driver was able to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle stalled after driving a short distance. The contact's son was able to coast to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Firestone, where DTC: P129F, which indicated a Fuel Pump Control Module (FPCM) failure, and DTC: P102B, which indicated a sensor circuit failure, were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at Firestone. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHSTA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.

Neither an independent mechanic nor the dealer was contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the fuel pump control module needed to be replaced. The VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V013000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there were no recalls at the time of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,000.

  The contact owns a 2022Chevrolet Equinox D2. The contact stated that there was distribution in the front center of the windshield. The viewing makes it seem as though the lines painted on the roads were curving inward. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer who diagnoised the windshield layers were not laid correctly and the windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however the windshield had the same failure. The dealer informed them that the windshields were designed in a way that the distortion could not be avoided. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1,500.

  Air charged cooler/ engine issues. I have a 2022 Chevy Equinox- purchased new in April 2022. When driving in heavy rain / humidity for length of time - I experience the car feeling like it is going to stall- not accelerating when pushing on the gas and jerking. Some times the engine light flashes when this occurs. Per the dealer it is due to an engine misfire - that is what the code shows. When this happens while I am driving (usually on the highway) I am terrified that I will be rear ended by another vehicle due to it slowing down - and the cars behind me have no warning/ brake lights alerting them that I am slowing down and not accelerating. From Sept 2022 to now, I have had the air charged cooler changed by the dealer twice - another time the dealer was not able to duplicate the same issue. November 2023-I had it to the dealer for the 4th time for the same issue- the solution per GM Bulletin [XXX] was to install a grill cover, which they have done. The problem with the grill cover is that I am responsible to install it and remove it depending on the weather/ temperature . Per the bulletin it needs to be on when raining - but removed if it is 85 degrees or higher and there is no clarification on what I should do if it is both raining and 85 outside. I do not know how this is safe for me to be having to stop the car and install or remove a part depending on the weather. I do not feel it is safe for me to have to stop or pull over on the side of the road / rest area or anywhere else to have to install or remove this. I am a single female [XXX] and am not comfortable with installing and removing this. The dealer did a one time courtesy demonstration of the installation and told me it is my responsibility to install or remove it from here on - depending on the temperature and weather. I drive 2 1/2 to 3 hours to work- leaving in the dark and returning in the dark. I feel my safety is at risk with the fix GM has given me.   Was in park and the engine off. The car rode backwards with my wife in the car with 1 foot still on the car, and 1 foot on my driveway, the car drove backwards, dragged my wife about 15 feet the door crushed her ribs break five of them, and she has many soft tissue injuries and the left front wheel ran over both of her shins on her legs.

  While driving, warning "Service Restraint System" popped up on the speedometer display, followed by "Auto stop" something, then "Reduced Engine Power", and symbols lit up including the Service Engine and traction control symbols. I pulled over, saw what I thought was steam emanating from the passenger side of the hood. I popped the hood intending to investigate and saw flames. 3 firemen and 2 mechanics told me based on my description, the engine was on fire before I even pulled off the road.

  Ever so often my check engine will pop on and everything will go haywire. The park assist will cut on and off periodically as well as the automatic high beams and also the infotainment system will connect to my phone and randomly make phone calls at any time. I'm usually alerted of this malfunction when I start the vehicle. Also, the auto stop/start will be active but will continue running when brake is applied. And the final issue is one of the majors, my automatic remote start only works periodically. I'll use this feature from my window which is about 55 ft from my car and the lights will come on but when I get to my car it's not running and everything is off. There is definitely an electrical issue in the vehicle. I have only had the vehicle 3 months and the issue persist more and more frequently. I have informed the dealership and they seem to can't find any issues which is beyond me but they just keep getting worse. I need some sort of help on this matter.

The manufacturer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed by an authorized dealer. The failure mileage was 10,000.

  The 1st time my 2022 Equinox broke down was July 1st 2025 approximately 3+ miles from my house turned left at intersection (stop sign) approximately 50 yards. All sudden engine lost power (engine was still running) till it stopped running. (At that time I was thinking it ran out of gas. I know I had plenty of gas). No advance warning. No idiot lights came on, not even the check engine either. I was driving approximately 35-40 mph. No power steering. I got the car off the road about one foot. so, I called a tow truck & I waited approximately 45 minutes. Was towed the nearest GM dealership & that costed $144.00. On July 9 2025 I got my car back. The service manager (person) told me the fuel pump control module shorted out. The 2nd time my 2022 Equinox LT broke down was on August 23 2025 Pulled out of garage than engine started idling rough then it stopped running. I tried to start it again was very hard to start. I drove it approximately 50 feet & the engine stopped running again. I got it to start & back it off the street & in to garage. Waited till 8/25/2025 baby it to Buick/GMC dealership. Too many problems with car. AC stopped working. Told cylinders bad. Needs New engine. Still in the shop as of November 17 2025. I have GMC Customer Service involved in this since July 1 2025. GMC hasn't reimburse me the $144.00 for towing charge.

  On Friday, 11/04/2022 at about 1230 while traveling South on I-35 in Waco, Texas the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox RS Texas Registration RPW-5038 driven by [XXX] experienced a dangerous incident. She indicated that she heard a loud noise followed by immediate deflation of the driver side front tire. [XXX] was in the left of travel and immediately pulled over to the left shoulder of the roadway. [XXX] then contacted AAA for Assistance. Waco Towing responded to the scene. The vehicle was towed to a safe location for assistance. The subsequent damage was the tire rim was cracked across the middle of it around the whole wheel. The damage looked like a clean break except one part where the rim was bent inwards. There was a dent in the rim’s edge from what appears to be impact damage with the roadway surface possibly caused from the rim breaking apart. There was no other visible damage to the edge of the rim of the tire. The exterior part of the Tire Rim and the tire do not appear to be damaged. The Rim was a 19x7.5 Rim/Wheel. A Replacement rim was ordered from Stonebriar Chevrolet in Frisco, Texas. [XXX] indicated that had she been traveling in any other Lane this could have been a serious incident. In my opinion it appears that there may be a defect with that particular Rim/Wheel which caused the damage and near Serious Motor Vehicle Crash. I am a Retired Bergen County Police Officer in New Jersey. During my career I’ve investigated numerous Motor Vehicle Crashes but None experiencing this type of equipment failure.   My vehicle was not able to use the Onstar properly and after researching numerous complaints I guess a faulty or bad Onstar module is a common issue among gm owner especially within the first 12 months of owning the vehicle. Why is this problem not being recalled or compensated to the hundreds of individuals paying out of pocket for this malfunction which is close to $1000? Why is the module dying or breaking so easy and in such short period of time. This is hazardous to my family because my disabled child can make driving scary some days. Not knowing I have the emergency onstar button available, or knowing where I am in case of an emergency is a severe issue for me hence why I purchased a new vehicle and made purchasing onstar services a priority for my family. Also the WiFi feature helps my child to communicate with me and tell me any issues since she is non verbal and needs her device. Also not being able to use the app to lock the vehicle in case I forgot is a safety concern to me because sometimes I need to know I locked the car or that I know where the car is at all times. This onstar working or module mishap needs to be fixed and stop unconvincing people’s lives and those they love. People who are forced to fix this issue of the onstar not even getting a signal or being able to call onstar is dangerous! This who feel protected by the services and willing to purchase a vehicle just because of this should not have to pay up to $1000 to fix this issue especially in the first year! I can’t believe the amount of people who affected by this companies faults and carelessness. A recall needs to be put in affect and the modules/wiring need to be reinforced and installed more properly.

  While driving on a four lane highway during rush hour my gas peddle stopped working. I drifted to the side of the road, with cars blowing their horns at me. My car was like frozen! AAA came after 45 mins to tow me to the dealership. We were told, Yup its the fuel pump, we currently have 3 other vehicles with the same problem. It's probably going to take at least a week to fix. No, they do not provide loaner car. Update: Dealership informed us that there's no time limit insight to fix our vehicle. The fuel pump is on back order and there are thousands of cars countrywide awaiting for the part.

  I feel asleep while driving on a residential side street. The vehicle drifted over to the right side of the road and i hit the back end of a u-haul truck. i didn't hear any warning and i don't believe the automatic braking system worked to prevent a collision with such severe damage. I was told the repairs are $16,000.00 roughly. My car has been in the Chevy body shop since the accident in May. They suddenly decided to total the car but don’t have additional charges.

  We have had this issue for going on two years. When we bought the car, we immediately started having problems. When we were driving the car, it would start popping in the steering column. We then started having rattles within the body, that are still going, to this day. We have had 4 radios put in due to electrical, still having the same Issues with it, TO THIS DAY. There is some kind of leak inside the body that is causing water to get into the doorframe and slosh around. Chevrolet is not wanting to take accountability and lemon this car, as we’ve had it in the shop right at 10 times for the same issues.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the throttle body had detached. The dealer reattached the throttle body; however, the failure recurred with the vehicle inadvertently decelerating and then stalling while driving. Additionally, the Lane Change Alert with Blind Side Zone Alert feature malfunctioned. The vehicle was then taken to Rosenthal Chevrolet (6500 Little River Turnpike, Alexandria, VA 22312) where an engineer diagnosed that the vehicle performed as designed and he was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and sent an engineer to Rosenthal Chevrolet to diagnose the vehicle. The failure mileage was 4,772.

  Transmission malfunctioned without warning at approx. 4,700 miles. Upon starting the vehicle multiple warnings went off and vehicle could not be shifted into any position; when attempting to put vehicle back in to Park, would not recognize that it was in Park so the vehicle could not be safely shut off and when turning off the ignition a warning alarm would sound and the display would remain on. Vehicle could not be locked due to being stuck “on”. Blind spot warning constantly detects a vehicle even when there is none rendering the feature useless and possibly confusing other drivers behind me into thinking it is a side mirror turn indicator and not BLIS.

  2022 CHEV EQUINOX STOPPED IN ROAD WHILE DRIVING. MECHANIC RAN CODE 8 MIN AFTER VEHICLE STOPPED. CODE CAME UP P129F FUEL PUMP DRIVER CONTROL. IT WAS TOWED TO BUTLER CHEV. MACON GA. THEY DID DIGNOSTIC AND SAID THIS PART WAS REPLACED FEB 10 2023. WE PURCHASED CAR FROM THIS DEALER NOV. 2023. LEE SERVICE ISLAND REP HAD CAR SEP 22 - 26 MON - THUR AND THEY RAN ANOTHER DIGNOSTIC AND THEY REPLACED FUEL DRIVER BOX MODULE. THE OTHER PART WAS NOT REPLACED. THIS SEEMS TO BE A BIG SAFETY PROBLEM. CAR STOPS WITHOUT NOTICE IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. I WOULD LIKE TO NOTIFY CHEV. THAT MORE INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE MADE ON THIS PROBLEM. WE WERE ONLY MINUTES FROM GETTING ON I 75 N IN ATLANTA TRAFFIC AND THE CAR STOPS DEAD STILL IN MIDDLE OF ROAD. WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. i requested chev. to replace the part that the code read p129F by the mechanic on site 8 min. after the car stopped. he showed it was a recall and that was replaced 2/10/23 at another dealership but they chose not to do so. the part could be defective. we have owned car since 11/2023.

  My 2022 Chevrolet Equinox, with just 72,000 miles, experienced a sudden and catastrophic transmission failure caused by a faulty transmission line clamp that broke, resulting in a rapid loss of transmission fluid while I was driving. I was able to pull over to safety, but was on the interstate going 75mph when my speed and vehicle power rapidly reduced. The vehicles around me were able to rapidly to respond, changing lanes and avoiding my rapidly slowing vehicle, but had they not had such quick responsiveness, there could have been a very serious collision. This unexpected failure destroyed the transmission and left me stranded. A side note (records are attached), the vehicle had been maintained at a Chevrolet dealership in accordance with all of their servicing timelines.

  Flat tire alert gone off 7 times, cameras have stopped working 5 times, climate control stopped working 4 times, nav system sd card shorted out, lane departure operating erratically 2 times tire alert, cameras and lane departure warning are safety features Car was in shop 5 times for 72 days and Chevy says they cannot replicate issue I have all documentation from the service visits.

The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was 2,983.

  While driving on the highway, the vehicle lost power with no warning. Was able to get it to the side of the road and had it towed to dealership. The found the fuel pump module was at fault. Had it replaced and 2 weeks later the check engine light came on and same diagnostic code came up for the fuel pump module. (had just been replaced). Took to dealership again and they replaced the module again stating it could be a faulty part. Now again 3 weeks later the check engine light is on again. Same diagnostic code came up again stating it is the fuel pump module. Car is currently at the dealership for the third time in 6 weeks for the same issue. Thankfully there has been no personal injury involved but the car stopping while driving on a Highway is very dangerous and scary. This is definitely a crash risk for the driver /passengers and others on the roadway.

  Driving on the highway at 65 mph when engine stalked and died. Engine light came on trying to get the vehicle to the right shoulder lane with a hard time braking with engine off and steering problem also. Engine dx code P129F from O'Reilly auto parts store. They told me of the complaints with the fuel pump driver Control Module a alot lower mileage vehicles. Bought the fuel pump module at Fiesta Chevrolet and it's running great for now.

  On [XXX], while driving at 10mph in my subdivision, the 2022 Equinox simply died and would not restart. It was towed to Gillman Chevrolet in Harlingen, Texas where it remains today. According to reliable online information, the FUEL PUMP DRIVER CONTROL MODULE failed. I will authorize inspection at the dealership. I shutter to think what could have happened had the module failed five minutes later at 75 mph. God was with me. The problem has been confirmed by the service dept at Gillman Chevrolet. The vehicle or component has only been inspected by the service department there, although according to the Service Tech, they are in communication with GM about the issue.   Stalling when braking and then accelerating. Car sputtered while on highway and then it stopped running . The car indicated to try to put it in neutral and start again. This did not work after several tries. The car will not successfully start up.

  The infotainment center failed completely and does not power on. Because of this failure, I cannot see the front, rear, or side cameras, and there are no audible warning sounds for parking, lane safety, or seat belt alerts. Essentially, none of the safety features connected to the infotainment system are functioning. This failure puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because I cannot see camera views when backing up or parking, and I receive no audio alerts or warnings for seat belts, obstacles, or safety features.

Recall Sheets were provided, however - I have been "unable to "REGISTER" the vehicle (in my name) to NHTSA website. When, "remedy" to the RECALLS are available, ???? How will "I" be "notified" to take the car to a Dealership ???

  Car would not turn over only grinning noise. Stranded in parking lot. Had to have car towed to dealer. They replaced the fuel pump. The car would not start again 2 days later. I was stranded again. I kept trying and it finally started. It stopped intraffic just died on the way home. Before help came I got it started and made it home. I had it towed to the dealer again. This time they said it is the fuel pump modular. The fuel pump cost me $1300.00 and norw the charge will be $400.00. SOME 2022 Equinox were recalled but mine was not included.   My parents are elderly [XXX] ). While driving on [XXX] the engine just stalled without any warning. No warning lights or anything. After many trys, was able to restart the vehicle and it sputtered to edge of the road (emergency lane) and shut off again. After that, vehicle would not start again. Towed vehicle 27 miles to Uvalde TX. Dealership confirmed Fuel Module. Warranty was expired by 2 days. Cost quoted at $650. Currently working to get extended warranty to cover the repairs. Called 911 and Medina County / Uvalde Sheriff dept responded to get them to safety. Stalled approx .2 miles west of [XXX] west of D'hanis, TX. Between D'hanis and Sabinal.   On July 23, 2025 My Equinox quit running as I was pulling out into an intersection. After several attempts to restart with no success I called my roadside assistance provider and had the Equinox towed to a repair facility. After diagnostics on July 24, 2025 it was determined that the Fuel Pump Control Module had failed. The Module was replaced and reprogrammed. After the repair was completed it was brought to my attention that there was a recall issued on "some" 2022 Equinox 's but not all 2022 Equinox 's. My VIN was not included in the recall but suffered the same failure as the recalled units. No warning lights or symptoms prior to the failure. This continues to be a safety issue because without warning the vehicles just stop running. The Equinox had 45,939 miles on the odometer at the time of the failure. This in a know safety issue and GM should have included all 2022 Equinox 's or at least a broader range of VINs in the initial recall.

  On Sunday September 7th 2025. I was driving 40 miles an hour. And all of a sudden my electronic braking system engaged and locked up. Big jolt and came to stop. Luckily I was not on the highway and also luckily I did not get rear-ended as well.

  On July 20, 2024 I was leaving a stop sign to pull onto the highway. When I tried to accelerate, my car would not move. The engine attempted to get power, but it would not go. After a few minutes, the car would move but I could not get up to speed as quick as usual. A few days later, I was driving about 30 mph through town, and felt what I thought was my transmission slip, causing me to lose power/speed. On July 24th, I contacted my local GM dealer, and got the car in to get it fix. They told me it was a turbo valve, and changed it. There was no engine lights or clear evidence of what was wrong with my car, but they said that the issue had been fixed by the turbo valve change. I had my car back August 5th. On August 9th, I was going uphill on a highway, and my car lost power again, causing me to lose speed and power. I called the car dealership that worked on my car and told them that it was not fixed. My car did produce a check engine light this time, and I relayed that to the mechanics, and they said that they would look into it. I took it into the dealership that day, and they have been working on it since. The dealership has been in contact with GM, but no progress has been made. It has been in the shop since August 9th, it is currently September 18 and they are not fixing the problem. They say that because there is no engine lights/messages on the dash, that they are unsure of what is going on and how to fix it.

  My vehicle has trouble starting and once it starts it dies within a minute or less. Check engine light is on. Code was showing the fuel pump module. Had it towed to the dealership to confirm exactly what the issue is.

  While driving at interstate speed the car slowed and presented a 'engine decelerating' light on instrument cluster. We were barely able to get off the interstate without getting hit. Car coasted to a stop and died. Half tank of gas and no recent work other than oil change 6000miles prior. Had it towed to dealership where they found the fuel pump module had died. Same as recall no: 23V013000. However, our VIN is not included in that recall. Dealer repaired at no charge.

  Driving down the interstate my 2022 chevrolet equinox LT lost all propulsion and shut off. I was able to get pulled over to the side of the road had to have my vehicle towed. Vehicle was repaired after a week at the dealership the problem was the fuel pump module again. This is the 2nd time the fuel pump modulehas went out in 2 years.

  on 08-31-2023 left house and got about 1 mile down the road going about 45 mph and had loss of power and engine stalled. Pulled over and tried to restart engine but would not start, engine light was on. Called dealership and said to have it towed in. 2 days later dealer called and said it was ready and it was a fuel module issue. When picking the car up the service guy said they reprogrammed it. Asked if I had to sign anything and he replied no, so no paperwork was given.

  Was approaching intersection for a left hand turn and just before getting to red light engine stalled. Tried at least 6 times to restart but would not. Was 2nd in line at a major intersection so after no luck restarting I called for road side assistance. The police came to direct traffic and then decided best to push me to the gas station next to intersection. While waiting for tow truck I tried starting vehicle about a half hour later and it started. After sitting there waiting for tow it stalled again and would not start. About an hour later tow truck came and at that time it restarted for him to load on to tow truck. The car is waiting for service but its the weekend and will need to wait for Dealership to call when ready.

  The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH and at other various speeds, the steering wheel jerked to the right with the electronic stability control warning light illuminated. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and restarted. The electronic stability control warning light was no longer illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the cause of the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 5,000.

  We were in our pharmacy drive thru pick up lane when our car suddenly died, and would not restart. No engine light came on prior. We waited three hours for our tow truck in 99 degree weather to take it to the nearest dealership. Had the fuel pump power control module and also the fuel tank fuel pump module replaced. Now back at dealership, as the fuel gauge is being repaired. Our car evidently didn't show up as needing the fuel pump module recalled. $2000 later, I wonder why not?

  On two separate instances the vehicle stalled and shut off. Once on a highway at 65mph. Second failure was on a private road at 15mph. Both instances were in a 1 week period.

  While driving, the car began stalling, and the info window said to shift to "neutral" and restart the vehicle. Attempted this, and the car just stopped in the middle of the street, unable to move it to the side. The info window started saying "no fuel" and I was unable to restart the car to move it off the street. Had to call my local mechanic since there is no Chevy dealership in my area. The car was towed to the shop, and diagnosed with the "Fuel pump power control module" failure. The part was replaced, and the mechanic was still unable to get the car to register fuel in the gas tank. They took it to the closest dealership, and the dealership also was unable to clear the codes and sync it. At this point, the mechanic put the old part back on, and the car still wouldn't start. The mechanic ordered yet another fuel pump power control module, and this time the car would sync and register the gas in the car. As of today, the car is running.   The car was parked, started up to pull out of the parking space, preceded to back up. The car moved a couple of inches out of the parking space. The car position was half in the parking space and half way in traffic. Then the car locked up with lights appeared on the dashboard, engine light comes on, ESC and car with wiggly lines. The car would not move forward, reversed, nor could I cut off the engine. Was afraid to take foot off brakes since the car would not cut off engine. Call the tow truck and it was towed to the dealer with engine running and lights still on. Dealer said they have not seen this before. After researching ESC lights on Equinox, complaints and concerns has been reported since 2018 on Equinox models. We did not have any problems prior to this nor any warning signs. Brought the car new 2022 Equinox, and this happen with 10, 385 miles on the car. The car never been in an accident. Danger and safety was the car was stuck in the middle of the street and partial in the parking space, making it dangerous for continued traffic and potential accident. The dealer still has the car.

  While accelerating in traffic, the car suddenly lost engine power. (Stalled). After several tries to restart, the vehicle had to be towed to the dealership for repair. The fuel pump control module was replaced.

  I was driving in town at normal speed getting on entrance ramp to XXX in [XXX]. As I made my turn the car engine stopped working. I pulled over to the side of the ramp. The car would not start. I called a tow truck and had it taken to my mechanic. He diagnosed it as a failed fuel pump module. He also said that this car had been recalled in 2023 and the fuel pump module replaced.   I was driving on the highway at a fast speed 75+ miles per hour. I was in the left lane. My car turned off and there was no acceleration. It was not getting fuel. I was able to make it to the right lane and merge off the highway before it stopped moving by momentum alone. Cars had to slow down and go around me almost causing an accident. It is not okay to let people drive around in an unsafe manner when, now I found that this is a common problem. Having an accident on I-95 is no joke. It could have cost me my life.

  On August 16, 2025, my 2022 Chevy Equinox experience an engine stall while I was driving with no warning, no prior check engine light. This was very scary for my own safety but more importantly my child’s safety who was in the back seat. Had I not been able to move my car to the side of the road or had we been on one of Atlanta’s major interstates this could have been a fatal accident for the both of us. I immediately took my car to the dealership where I purchased this car brand new off the truck and have had it serviced ever since. Not only did I take it, I took it there with a recall notice (N222372310) for 21-22 Chevy Equinox experience engine stalls due to a faulty fuel pump module. The dealership informed me that this recall “did not apply” to my VIN. And I had to place it under my warranty and pay my $200 deductible for them to diagnose that in fact my fuel pump module was bad and needed to be replaced, nothing else.
