While driving, the power steering disengaged and made the vehicle difficult to steer. The power steering warning light illuminated in the dash and the vehicle went into safety mode. After letting the vehicle remain shut down, the error code rectified itself and the power steering warning disappeared. Vehicle was serviced by the dealership and a power steering module update was performed. The rack and pinion were inspected. The vehicle subsequently suffered the same issue. Again, after driving to vehicle to safety and shutting it off, the issue resolved itself. This is a safety issue that appears to be electronic and allows the power steering to disengage while driving,

The dash lit up with all lights and it said SOS Power STEERING is out. I could not turn the wheel. The lights such as my miles was blinking, the seat belt was flashing along with dinging even though my seat belt was on. There has been recalls due to power steering issues but my car isn't on there. It put me and my son at risk for a terrible accident. I have taken it to a dealership. There were no warnings prior to this incident.
- 12/15/2025· STEERING
Started the vehicle and while pulling down the driveway the power steering suddenly went completely out. Warning lights began flashing and I was unable to steer vehicle. Stopped vehicle and turned off several times, however unable to overcome power steering loss, or reset warning lights. No other issues, considering the vehicle was just recently serviced for same complaint four weeks earlier and batteries replaced stemming from another recent issues with DTCS issues. Considering I was in a rural wooded area, I was forced to drive the vehicle home without power steering. I parked the vehicle waiting for appointment from dealer, and upon starting the vehicle, power steering returned, however a check engine fault light remained. The dealer found "many DTCS communication loss codes again", but stated nothing further they could do with the these factory defects at just 26,000 miles. I have all all documentation on these ongoing safety issues, with no help from Stellates.

Started driving home and heard the vehicle making clinking noises. Then the service 4wd light came on. It slips in shifting almost like the vehicle shuts down for a sec and then comes back. When you are sitting the vehicle will randomly jerk forward even in park mode. Like the brake releases and then comes back. It's very unsafe and with it shifting the way it does the actuator is failing which in return will cause a very bad accident. This car can just shut down at any given moment.

Randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays will switch to Italian along with cluster and radio display settings reverting to default settings, auto door locks and paddle shifter becomes inoperative (with no menu to enable), pedestrian emergency brake (peb) lamp or forward collision warning (fcw) lamp turns on with no way to disable, units of measurement including speed, temperature, etc. change to metric and many other random settings change as well. ***This is clearly a dangerous situation because of all the functions and gauges that change, and the fact it is difficult if not impossible to recover from this due to the language of the setting menus, and the complexity of discovering and navigating through all these changes. The dealer charge me $300 diagnostic fee before resetting the software. Time goes by and it happens again. Dealer says there is nothing they can do and to wait for a software update from Stellantis, but none has come and it has been over a year. When this happens, I can change "some" of the settings back but some items cannot be reset like the FCA off lamp and paddle shifters. Back to the dealer I go for another $300 charge. Here is an example Jeep forum discussion, indicating many if not all vehicles are affected: https://www.jeepgarage.org/threads/forward-collision-warning-off-light-is-stuck-on.250301/#replies From personal experience, all of these issues started several years ago with an over the air software. This is a well known and widespread problem, and there is even a DOT Bulletin on the issue: dot.report Bulletins Because this is dangerous (for settings/gauges/units to no longer be useful while driving), and it occurs randomly, I strongly believe this issue should be a manufacturer recall. Dear Agency I have got big problem. I am writing to request urgent assistance regarding a serious safety issue with my Jeep Grand Cherokee 2021 (WL) L, imported by me (private) from the U.S. market to Poland. I have recently noticed on web recall site about a 4 recall but 2 of them are very serious campaign concerning the replacement and repair of the rear springs and second - control arm nuts. The campaign was not performed earlier in USA. My vehicle is affected by first issue — the right rear spring is dislodging, which has been confirmed by inspection in goverment cars controling station in Poland. I have already contacted two authorized Jeep service centers in Poznan, Poland: Jeep Service Złotniki, Obornicka 4 street [XXX] and Jeep Service, Świętego Michała Street 20 [XXX] , as well as I contacted Jeep Polska Headquarters. [XXX] Unfortunately, all of them informed me that they do not perform the recall repair, despite the fact that this defect poses a serious safety risk while driving. I recived information thad Jeep in USA do not pay for this recall and Jeep Polska do not perform any recall in POLAND for USA Cars. I could not imagine what it is possible. My car is dangerous for me and my family. I tried to contact Jeep Headquaters in USA without succes :( There are no email to contact recall office, only phonecall and I could not proceed it by my Polish phone number :( My vehicle details: VIN: [XXX] I kindly ask for your help in resolving this issue and ensuring that the recall repair can be performed. Please advise how I can proceed and where I can have this safety recall completed. Thank you very much for your attention and support. I think it is the lumbar support bag in the driver's seat. It has blown up and blown up and will not deflate, to the point it is SO uncomfortable to drive and the seat back has POPPED completely open. I have pictures. I have read in some online forums other Jeep owners with this scabies l exact model have had issues. Why isn't this a recall? Help! We should not have to bear the burden of the expense of this system malfunction. How we pool together to get this considered a recall that Jeep must repair?

3 DAYS AFTER PURCHASING MY USED VEHICLE THE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" LIGHT TURNED ON FOR A FEW SECONDS. A FEW WEEKS LATER I NOTICED THAT THERE WAS A DELAY IN GEARS SHIFTING LIKE HARSH SHIFTING. I TOOK IT TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT BECAUSE WHEN HOOKED UP TO THE COMPUTER IT WAS NOT THROWING A CODE. THE ISSUE CONTINUES WHERE THERES A DELAY IN SHIFTING, ONCE THE SHIFTING HAPPENS IT WILL ACCELERATE OR SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY WHERE IT FEELS LIKE I AM SLAMMING ON THE BRAKES OR STEP ON THE ACCELERATOR. IT HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO RESOLUTION, I HAVE TAKEN IT TO OTHER MECHANICS AND THEY REPLACED/ADDED A CLOCKSPRING ON MY REQUEST JUST TO SEE IF THAT WOULD FIX THE ISSUE FROM READING ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE FOR OTHER JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE L OWNERS.

The steering started to feel intermittently difficult and then would release. It has been looked at by 2 mechanics and they report that it appears to be a structural failure of the front strut. The strut tower has separated from the body, the adhesive has failed, the rivets have broken loose, and the movement is causing the strut tower to contact the steering shaft resulting in intermittent binding of the steering. All involved believe this is a serious safety defect and a manufacturing issue. Because the car is out of warranty Jeep is denying any reasonability. There have been no accidents with this vehicle and no inciting event.

A vehicle was purchased at McLarty Daniel Chrysler Bentonville, AR. The sales department had a third party install a non-oem windshield. Dealer attempted repairs, but the records show discrepancies of statements and record. The dealer ignored the instructions to recalibrate the windshield, though the receipt stated “elevated risk of collision” if not calibrated. The owner had on going issues that service should have connected to the windshield and calibration. The windshield of this vehicle has immense safety features that were ignored. The liability to willfully hand over the keys of a known unsafe vehicle is high. The dealership sent a repair request to warranty, only to be denied for “faulty or negligent install” then the service department said “long story short sales will cover the repair” after requesting formal warranty communications did the owner become aware on 7/30/26 and start the process of correction.

The vehicle has twice gotten stuck in third gear. While driving, as it's shifting from third to fourth, will get stuck in third and clunk, and then rev. The engine light will come on, and it forces you to pull over. The manual shifters do not work either. You have to pull over, shut the car down, and restart. The engine light comes on but no errors are logged, and the engine light clears itself a few restarts later. The first time this happened to me, I was driving with my son and it startled us that the car didn't seem to go but revved high. The most recent time, July 18,2025 I took pictures. My whole family was in the car, and we were driving through a campground with people walking around. I didn't have time to make a decision to pull over. There wasn't anywhere safe to park, so we had to coast bit to find a spot.

Vehicle is 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Laredo 4x4 3.6L V6..... Dealership service will not service this since there isn't a recall shown for my Jeep vin specifically. Even though there are identical models that have this recall. Jeep Dealership wants over $900 just to check and maybe service this issue..... This is a very serious issue. I have already scheduled an appointment on 7/18/2025 to have 3 other recalls fixed at this dealership and would like to ask for you to please have them service this issue as well since this is an oversight on the manufacturers end..... I just discovered my IPC module is faulty and has been faulty. My vehicle has been putting itself into park while driving multiple times now in the little over 2 years I’ve had it. Along with many other electrical issues (power steering going out) engine not cutting off after putting it I to park and cutting the jeep off. Dash going out. Biggest issue is my vehicle causing me near miss traffic accidents. The dealership it was purchased from, certified. Hid service history reports at the sale. Also returned this vehicle multiple times without acknowledging the issue or even telling me they didn’t repair the issue. Last time it was picked up from Matt Bowers Jeep in Baton Rouge within 30 mins the issue was happening and more (rpms shooting up and Jeep taking off without giving it gas). I went public and another dealership reached out to help me. Within a few hours they noted that the vast majority of my modules weren’t updated, some bad and the IPC module keeps failing. They’re working with Stellantis trying to troubleshoot the issue. This has never been made known by Matt Bowers and matches the original service records hidden from day one. I cant get my vehicle back while the IPC module is faulty because it’s a serious safety hazard. Matt Bowers has put me back I to This vehicle multiple times knowing it was a hazard and I even Stated I felt unsafe in this Jeep. This is a serious safety hazard!!! Mopar was also made aware and has never returned any messages.

2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L. I was idling at a light, which means the engine had auto-shut off. The light turned green and I stepped on the accelerator. Car kicked back on like normal and I got back up to speed ~45 mph. So now I'm about 1/4 mile past the light and I hear the engine kick off and lost all acceleration (everything else was normal). The dealer advised the contact to wait for a day; however, the failure persisted after the system reset. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 18,000.

May 16,2025 my power steering light came on. I checked the fluid, and when I turned it back on it was gone. The next day, I started driving all my safety lights in dash & mirrors came on. When I pulled into my kids school it made a strange noise. I then drove right across the street to Lees tires. When I got there my power steering has completely quit working. They now saw my rack & pinions are broken & need replaced. I am now without a car until it is fixed

When a car in front of me is slowing down while the adaptive crusie control is on and I have the distance set to 3 or 4 lengths, the farthest one available, and the adaptive cruise control is set, the car will start slwoing down like the cars ahead of me and if I switch lanes to go around of the car that is slowing down and there is another car in front of me of the lane I move into that adaptive crusie control acts as if there is no car in front of me in the lane and will begin to accelerate until I engage the brake. So for example I'm traveling in the far right lane of a four lane road, two going north and two going south. I have my adaptive crusie control on and set to 50 MPH and the distance set to 4 car lengths (max) and then the car in front of me starts to slw down. The adaptive crusie control will adjust and start to slow down as well. So I decide to get into the next lane over to my left, where there also happens to be another car 1 or 2 car lengths in front of me, the adaptive crusie control will not detect that car after lane change and will begin to accelerate back up to 50 MPH when it should still be slowing down to avoid a collision. This has happened multiple times.

Presented as camshaft position sensor with loss of power, poor acceleration and general misfires. After many weeks of diagnostic and repairs, turns out to be a problem with the camshaft intake. Specifically the entire cam kit. Appeared 1 week after purchase as a check engine light. This problem had been confirmed by the chrysler dealership where I bought the car and sent it for diagnostic. Problem with the cam could result in sudden loss of power while driving/and or limp mode. Damage to transmission and other parts such as timing chain. I do not have any invoices, however this vehicle was in for service at greenwood auto in cortland ohio for a week before being transferred to Mig chryler in bellafontaine ohio where it was bought for service. Currently no invoice for the repair because the parts are not available due to high amount of demand for this specific problem. My jeep has now been in the shop for 4 weeks with no timeframe for parts.

I brought my 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L to the dealership for its scheduled ~40,000 mile service. During that visit, I specifically reported that something felt off with the transmission/drivetrain. The dealership inspected the vehicle and stated that no issues were found. Approximately one week later, the vehicle experienced a sudden and severe drivetrain failure. While driving approximately 45 mph on a surface street and accelerating to cruising speed, the vehicle began shaking violently. There were loud mechanical noises from underneath the vehicle consistent with components coming apart. At the same time, the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate. Pressing the accelerator produced no forward movement. Due to the loss of power, I was forced to coast out of active traffic and onto a side street where I was able to safely stop. The condition was sustained and the vehicle was not drivable after the incident. When attempting to assist the tow truck driver, I shifted the vehicle to drive and pressed the accelerator. The engine revved but the vehicle did not move. When shifting back to park, the vehicle displayed an error message: “Cannot shift to Park, vehicle moving too quickly,” despite being stationary. This failure created a safety hazard due to loss of acceleration and unpredictable vehicle behavior. This is particularly concerning because a drivetrain issue was reported during a service visit shortly before the failure and was not identified. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the failure. The issue occurred suddenly and without advance indication. The vehicle had recently been serviced and cleared by the dealership despite a reported drivetrain concern. A failure of this nature at speed could significantly increase the risk of a crash, depending on traffic conditions.

In May 2025 the vehicle randomly, and without warning, the instruments, gauges, and displays switched to Italian, changed to Metric, and we got the update and FCW Off light stuck on. Numerous other settings had been reset. Took to dealer and had to pay for the fix - they noted a STAR bulletin on my invoice. Then this past weekend (May 2, 2026) it happened again. At least this time it didn't go Italian and Metric on me, but lots of other settings were changed. Did not test the paddle shifters but will do that soon. Current software version says FCA-MY24.U29.42-PROD. I've seen other posts with a newer version - not sure if / why not on my Jeep yet.
