  • 12/21/2022· SERVICE BRAKES

Our vehicle has multiple issues with it's brakes since we purchased the vehicle in December of 2021. Initially, when we would use our brakes while in reverse, the brakes would make a groaning sound (this started around January of 2022). We assumed it had something to do with the recall announced about the brakes of the vehicle and waited for parts to become available to get the brakes fixed. We finally got our brakes replaced once parts became available, but this did not fix the rear brake sound. The dealership replaced the rear brakes and the noise stopped. We brought the vehicle home and the front brakes began to squeal when using them while in drive. We called the dealership and let them know and they said to bring it back in. We brought the vehicle in, they replaced the front brakes and by the time we got home, the brakes were squealing again. We called the dealership, they had us bring the vehicle in again to inspect it, and confirmed they heard the squealing but they would not be performing a service until they confirmed with Ford if they should replace the rotors. Two weeks later, we get the call to bring back the vehicle to replace the rotors. We bring it in, get rotors replaced and brought the vehicle home. After 4 days, our vehicle began to make the same squeal sound on our brakes while in drive, and make some sort of groaning sound when we came to a complete stop. Ford employees seem to not be able to fix this issue and seem frustrated with us that we keep calling and asking for help.

The car caught fire the morning of Dec 11, 2024 while the vehicle's owner was driving their children to school. There are photos and a fire report is being generated. The vehicle's owner and her children could have been killed. Early indications are that the fire was caused by the same faulty engine/exhaust system defect that the owner has been complaining to Ford about for years. It is assumed the fire report will confirm that. For the past two or more years the vehicle has been emitting exhaust fumes into the passenger compartment of the vehicle while driving. This has caused the vehicle's owner and her children to get sick and forced them to drive the vehicle with the windows down at all times even in cold weather. Ford's dealers have confirmed the problem several times, but either could not or refused to fix it. A summary of the vehicle's service history is included below: 35,662 miles Customer states inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 37,431 miles Inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. 39,856 miles inside of vehicle smells like exhaust. confirmed customers concern found cat warped at mating surface to turbo replacement required. 46,832 miles Fumes getting inside the Cab, seems to be blowing in from vents. • 12/16/2025· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I bought my 2021 Ford Bronco at Morrie's Grand Ledge Ford. I live 10 minutes away from Morrie Ford Okemos. I received a recall notice from Ford Motor Company in August of this year regarding a recall of my specific vehicle. The issue is: "there is a possibility that a fuel injector may crack, which may result in fuel accumulating on the top of the engine. Liquid fuel and/or fuel vapor that accumulates near a hot surface, such as a hot engine or exhaust components may ignite resulting in an under-the-hood fire, increasing the risk of injury." I spoke to the Morrie's Okemos Ford Service Manager and was told "Ford Motor Company has not authorized this repair" and "there's nothing I can do about it." And, then he told me to call Ford Motor Company if I had a complaint. I am out of my mind furious with his response to a required repair that, if not done, could result in "injury" or death. I told the service manager not to return my Bronco until the fuel injectors are replaced, and he gives me back my original ones to prove the service has been completed. Imagine being on the road, going to work, or shopping, or on vacation and having your Bronco Sport start on fire. It's horrifying! So this is the boilerplate and impersonal reply I received from Morrie's Okemos Ford: "Hello, it appears that our team did handle the recall that was affecting your vehicle. This specific recall does have a possible extended policy for fuel injector replacements; however, in order to replace the fuel injectors, there has to be an existing issue with them. Your fuel injectors did not fall under this criteria, so we were not able to replace them under the recall warranty. We have let you know that your vehicle's recall is complete and is ready for pick up. Thank you." So, do I have to wait for a possible "under-the-hood" fire before my possibly defective fuel injectors qualify for this recall "criteria?" This is a frightening response, and I will never buy another Ford product in my life.

  • 12/16/2024· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

The contact owns a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle started losing motive power. A message advising a power train failure was displayed. The driver was able to exit the highway at 15 MPH. The vehicle was driven to a nearby dealer, where the computer was rebooted; however, the failure recurred several times while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer several times, and the transmission was rebuilt. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring while driving. The contact stated while her husband was driving 70-80 MPH, the vehicle lost electrical power and stalled. The check engine and the power train warning lights were illuminated. The driver was able to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to restart but failed to exceed 15 MPH. The driver continued driving on the shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the engine had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the repair could not be covered due to the mileage on the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 1,310.

  • 12/16/2022· SERVICE BRAKES

The vehicle seems to have long stopping distances and I experienced shaking at highway speed. Also, when I back up, there is a very loud moaning noise, like a ‘ship horn’. This noise occurred several times from when I first bought the new vehicle and each time I took it to the dealer, they said they couldn’t duplicate the problem. That was over 4 times now that the dealer denied there was a problem. I then made a video of the noise to prove it to the dealer. They agreed there was a TSB for caliper pins and bushings, so they did that work. Before I left the dealer service department, the problem happened again to the Service Advisor, so they have the car now waiting for Ford to investigate. Online Ford Bronco forums also show a defect in the ‘coefficient of friction’ for the brake pads, but both Ford and the dealer currently are saying that’s a wear item and they won’t fix it under the warranty (my car has 30k mikes now but this problem occurred first when I only had the car for a few months). As part of the TSB service on 12/15/2022, they said my front original brake pads are like new but the back ones are due to be replaced. They acknowledged that the rear pads usually last twice as long as the front, but my vehicle is opposite that. I think they should put new brakes and new rotors on the vehicle under warranty, especially in back since those rear pads only should not be worn out at 30k miles while the front are like new. Clearly, there is a problem with the rear brakes (primarily,) but maybe in the overall balance of the braking system, resulting in premature wear of the back pads, longer stopping distances, and that awful noise when I back up.

Vehicle experienced catastrophic power failure while I was driving. Without warning, the vehicle shut down completely. The engine stopped, the brakes engaged, the dash went black. There was no way to communicate with the vehicle -- no way to engage emergency flashers or even to push it to the side of the road (because the brakes were locked). There was a loud "pulse" sound coming through the speakers -- "thump. . .thump. . .thump. . ." which continued for 5 - 10 minutes. A police officer who stopped to assist noted the rear tail lights were strobing. The "P" on the transmission shifter flashed continually. Over the next 30 minutes, the infotainment screen rebooted twice, but went to black within seconds. The instrument panel rebooted once, but also went black after a few seconds. The car was towed to Kings Ford in Mason/Deerfield Township OH. The service tech reported the only issue was a dead battery which he replaced. That issue has not reoccurred in my Bronco Sport. On the Bronco Sport Forum, [XXX] reported an identical event in Feb. 2023 happened to her vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I was involved in an accident with a deer. It impacted my driver door. The impact and physical damage were minimal to moderate. However, at least 6 airbags deployed, totaling out the vehicle. There have been some recalls on 2021 Broncos for faulty airbag sensors. There was no recall on mine. Yet, I believe these sensors were faulty as it was a minor impact to the vehicle. As I had purchased this vehicle before inflated prices and inflated interest, my financial loss is great. Had at least 6 airbags not deployed, my vehicle would not be a total loss.

My Check Engine Light came on today. I went to Advance Auto Parts and had them check the code (P0171). I took my vehicle to University Ford in Huntington and expressed concern that my fuel injector may cause a fire and I am not comfortable driving the car. They could not diagnose my car or loan me a safe vehicle. They sent me away in an unsafe vehicle. I am to bring the car back in the morning at 8am. I believe this problem is due to the open recall. I also believe all of the damaged parts that my car came with have depreciated the value of my car. I’ve driven Fords exclusively for 20 years. I’ve never had a Ford like this Bronco. Nothing but a nightmare. Tomorrow I hope the dealership fixes my problem or loans me a safe vehicle to pick my grandsons up from school in. Thank you.

Per Master Tech Bo at CamelBack Ford in Phoenix, AZ - He stated he had a 2021 Bronco Sport in his shop for 3 months with the same issue mine has had now 3 times and mine has been "Repaired" twice. He could not find out why the vehicle was stalling/losing power while in motion. I proceeded to look for an answer and had asked if that Bronco Sport he is referring to is still in his shop.. his answer was no. I asked then what was the issue, his response was a failing Guide-Pin in the transmission not being an exact sit in the fitting position. I had my vehicle towed to Chapman Ford of Scottsdale, AZ for the 3rd time. They started a Inspection/Diagnoses on my vehicle without knowing at all why my vehicle was towed in. Then proceeded to not listen to my request of inspecting the transmission assembly and denied service to my ensure if my family is (ASAP) - as safe as possible - in this vehicle and stated "It is SUPPOSEDLY drivable" (Recorded Line). They said my vehicle "Stalled" and did not lose power (like they were there when I was moving 20 MPH) because of the fuel level! They reported (Recorded Line) vehicle was brought in with ESTIMATED 26 Miles like this is a non-sufficient amount of fuel. ** Let me be the first to say the estimate is not an estimate I have gotten this car down to the 10 Miles left warning indicator message and felt no problems regarding to a low fuel amount. The doors on my vehicle are buckling. There are ripples in the sheet metal on all four doors where the metal meets the window glass. It appears to be some type of structural issue. Im worried if these doors are buckling under normal wear and tear im concerned if they are structurally sound if the vehicle were involved in a accident? Is the cause of this issue metal fatigue? I am not an engineer but there is obviously an issue with these doors that may be some type of safety issue. I brought this to the attention of Ford and they acknowledged the issue. They took photos of the issue but have not come up with a solution. While at the dealership having my vehicle inspected I observed several other Ford Broncos with the same issue. I provided photos of the issue but I must admit it is difficult to see.
