  AEB light flashes on and off at random driving times. sent in for inspection no code generated but have videos of each one. Safety feature that is no longer a safety feature, but a hazard to self and others while driving. when ur car stops would be my #1 one indicator especially on the freeway and at random times= accident, the possible death of self and others! no, the dealer cant no regenerate the code. no other inspection except the local dealer. No other warnings. light just randomly appeared 2 days after the purchase of the car, a few months later, etc same pattern. was informed weather, then dirt. NOT sure how a person can avoid weather; fog, condensation, moisture. or bugs hitting ur windshield or review mirrors while driving. I would have to bubble wrap my car for that and those things not to possibly effect this sensor.

  Malfunction light appears. Car slows and full pressure on gas pedal causes car to "bulk" (increase then decrease in speed with jerking feeling). Eventually check engine light appears. Have taken to dealership, but because no lights appeared while there they could not find any problem. Told to bring to them when light is on , however this happens most often when they are not open. Now (12/26/25) being told they are booked out for 3 weeks before they can even check it and if no warning lights on, they can not diagnose problems. This problem is intermittent and started more than one year ago with at least 4 trips to dealership.1

  On a clear sunny day, while driving around 40 mph with no traffic in front or behind me my Automatic Emergency Braking activated for a instant and then released. If I had been in traffic such as driving through Dallas at 70 mph or more, I might have been rear ended. It scared me. I can imagine what a car behind me would have done with the car in front hitting their break for no reason. There was no warning.

  The seat belt connection is located so far down in the seat cushion that it is almost impossible to fasten, and it is especially difficult if you are trying to fasten in a child seat. The design is a safety problem. The seat belts I am referring to are on the back seat.

  On Thanksgiving, the rear door of our vehicle closed unexpectedly on my back while I was loading food and gifts. It seemed stuck; I had to lift it manually to reset it. It then resumed working normally. However, recently, it fell on my husband’s head while he was unloading groceries. He has a history of concussions, and I am very concerned about the safety risk this malfunction poses. Please investigate this issue and advise on any recalls or necessary actions.

  DRIVING DOWN OHIO PIKE AFTER A SHORT STOP, CAR FELT LIKE IT WAS DRIVING IN A LOW GEAR OR NOT SHIFTING AND THE MANUAL OPTION WAS NOT ENGAGED. TRAVELING APPROXIMATELY 35-45 MPH FOR ABOUT A MILE OR SO WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED TO THE LEFT AND CAR DECELERATED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC TURN LANE. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS IN TURN LANE. I PUT CAR IN PARK, COLLECTED MY THOUGHTS, DAUGHTER REACHED OVER AND PUT HAZARDS ON. THERE WERE NO WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASHBOARD AND THE WEATHER WAS CLOUDY BUT DRY CONDITIONS. I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT ACROSS THE TWO LANES, TURN THE CAR OFF, RESTAR IT DRIVE IT AROUND THE PARKING LOT AND THEN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP 3 MILES AWAY. THE CAR STILL SEEMED TO NOT DRIVE LIKE IT WAS IN THE CORRECT GEAR SO PULLED OFF INTO A RESTAURANT PARKING LOT AND EVENTUALLY WAS TOWED TO CLOSEST NISSAN. IT HAS BEEN ONE WEEK, I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY CAR BACK BECAUSE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT RELEASE IT BACK TO ME FOR SAFETY REASONS. THE DEALERSHIP INDICATED THEY ARE WORKING WITH NISSAN. I WAS GIVEN A LOANER CAR TO GET HOME IN ANOTHER STATE. THIS IS IS A LEASE CAR THAT I AM PAYING FOR AND NOT ABLE TO USE AND NOW I AM SCARED TO DRIVE. AS OF NOW DEALERSHIP TOLD ME A WIRE CAME LOOSE FROM THE COMPUTER.

  The contact owned a 2020 Nissan Rogue. The contact stated while driving approximately 20 MPH during rush hour traffic, the contact became aware of a chemical odor, and within seconds there was black smoke entering the cabin of the vehicle. The contact immediately pulled over and there were flames coming from under the hood. The contact stated that there was a MIL warning light illuminated after the flames started. The contact was locked and trapped inside the burning vehicle. The contact was frantically trying to roll the windows down because the vehicle failed to turn off. The contact was then able to roll the rear driver’s side window down and a bystander was able enter into the rear driver side window, unlock the door, and pull the contact from the vehicle. The Fire Department was called to the scene and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was first towed to Redmond Towing in Alexandria VA and was deemed to be a total loss. A Police Department and Fire Department report was taken at the scene. The contact refused treatment at the scene but was later taken to Urgent Care by her husband to be treated for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 27,000.

  The power assisted rear hatch on my Nissan Rogue on occasion will open to the fullest height then suddenly close again with out any warning. When the hatch comes down, there is no electrical power to re-operate this hatch and is very heavy, dead weight and traps you under the hatch, or smack me in the head depending on my body location at time of closing.. It is hard for me as an adult to re-open the powerless hatch, but it is very troublesome to think about what would happen to a small child if trapped under the hatch. I bought this car used and returned to the dealer on 06/26/23 to report this problem and to have it repaired. Needlessly, the problem still exist. This problem as happened over twenty times and there is no set pattern as to when it will happen. The dealer I purchased this car from is Tri-Cities Nissan 2526 Bristol Hwy Johnson City, TN 37601 (423-952-1953) I am reporting this problem because it is a major safety concern for a small child or weakened senior citizen.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED A FOURTH TIME. THE CONTACT STATED THEY WOULD HAVE TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO PARK, THEN, TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO REGAIN PROPER FUNCTION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (PEARSON NISSAN OF OCALA 2060 SW COLLEGE RD, OCALA, FL 34471; (352) 622-4111) WHO WERE UNABLE TO RECREATE THE FAILURE AND IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over to the side of the road. The vehicle was able to restart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 25,000.

  I was stopped at a stop light, when it turned green I hit the gas and within a few seconds, an alarm came on and the car hit the brakes and stopped the car. There was no reason for this to happen. No one in front of me hit their brakes. If there was someone close behind me, I could've easily been rear ended.

  MY 2020 NISSAN ROGUE I ONLY HAD ABOUT 3 DAYS AND I WAS DRIVING TURNING OUT OF A CHURCH PARKING LOT AND IT CUT OFF ON ME. I TRIED TO CRANK IT AND IT WOULD NOT CRANK. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALSO ON. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED. THE SECOND 2020 NISSAN ROGUE I GOT FROM THE SAME DEALERSHIP, I HAVE BEEN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE FEB/AEB LIGHT COMING SINCE SEPTEMBER. NO ONE, NO ANIMALS, NO FOG, NO RAIN, NO OTHER CARS ARE NEAR ME WHEN THIS LIGHT KEPT COMING ON, THAT I HAVE VIDEO OF. HAD IT LOOKED AT AT TWO DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALERSHIPS ONE FOUND PAST CODES IN OCT AND THE OTHER ON 11/3 SAID EVERYTHING WAS PERFECTLY FINE NOTHING WAS WRONG. ON 11/4 I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35-40 MILES PER HOUR ON A CITY STREET AND MY CAR JUST BRAKED ON ME OUT OF NO WHERE. AND A RED/ORANGE LIGHT WITH A CAR IN THE MIDDLE WITH A SOUND WAVE TYPE SYMBOL BLINKED ON THE DASHBOARD AND WHEN OFF BEFORE I KNEW IT. IT WAS TERRIFYING AND THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT BECAUSE OUR HEADS FLEW FORWARD AND THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. NO CARS WERE IN FRONT OF ME DURING THIS TIME, BUT THERE WERE SOME BEHIND ME THAT COULD HAVE HIT ME AND CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THE FIRST 2 HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER I LEFT THE SUPERMARKET, I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT & CHECKED ALL MY MIRRORS AND WINDOWS PRIOR TO PULLING OUT WHEN I FELT IN GUT THAT SOMETHING WASN'T RIGHT, I COVERED MY BRAKES WHILE SLOWLY PULLING OUT AND ASKED MY SON TO CHECK OUT ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THERE HAD BEEN A CHILD INCHES AWAY FROM MY CAR AND I DID NOT SEE NOR WAS ALERTED BY THE VEHICLE. THE SECOND, INCIDENT HAPPENED WHEN I RETURNED HOME WITH THE GROCERIES AND MY CHILDREN WERE EXITING THE VEHICLE WITH THE GROCERIES, MY SON THEN CAME BACK TO CHECK TO SEE IF I NEEDED SOMETHING ELSE CARRIED UPSTAIRS AND I DID NOT SEE MY SON AS I BEGAN PULLING OFF, MY SON CHILDREN BOTH YELLED IN VOICES OF DISTRESS..MOM! STOP!!! I SAID, WHAT HAPPENED, HE SAID YOU ALMOST RAN ME OVER. AGAIN, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ALERT ME THAT SOMEONE WAS IN AN AREA THAT I COULDN'T SEE. I COULDN'T LIVE WITH MYSELF IF I CAUSED BODILY INJURY TO MY SON THAT COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE GRAVE DANGER, LOSS OF A LIMB OR DEATH. THE THIRD INCIDENT HAPPENED ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2020 AT APPROXIMATELY 2:46PM, I HAD BEEN DRIVING CAUTIOUSLY AS I DO ADHERING TO THE SPEED LIMIT, I NOTICED A BICYCLIST PEDALING ALONG HIS WAY, IT SEEMS AS IF WE WERE HEADING TOWARDS THE SAME DIRECTION SO I PROCEEDED TO DRIVE CAUTIOUSLY AS I WAS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION TO MAKE A LEFT, I CHECKED ALL THREE MIRRORS AND EVEN LOOKED BACK DIDN'T SEE HIM SO I BEGAN TO MAKE A LEFT AS I WAS TURNING LEFT I COULD SEE HIM IN MY PERIPHERAL VISION APPROACHING THE CROSS WALK. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED MY VEHICLE GIVING HIM THE RIGHT WAY AND THANKING GOD THAT I DID NOT HIT HIM.   Purchased my care in September of 2020. Shortly, after having my car I noticed this orange light flash in dash. I was able to capture a picture. Then, I sent it to my car salesman. He stated that he did not know what it was. So, it has done this several times since then. I researched this light and found out that it is the braking system. Even when there is nothing in the presence of the car it will appear. This is a scary thing. Consumer stated car would stop with nothing in front of it or the speed had not accelerated over 20 miles.

  I PURCHASED A 2020 NISSAN ROGUE SV THAT HAS A POWER ADJUSTABLE DRIVERS SET. THE SLIDE RAIL ASSEMBLY HAS PLAY IN IT WHEN ADJUSTED TO MY DRIVING POSITION. IT ROCKS BACK DURING ACCELERATION AND ROCKS FORWARD DURING BREAKING. I CAN SIT IN THE SEAT STATIONARY AND MOVE IT FORWARD AND BACKWARD WITH MY BODY WEIGHT. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT THE DEALERSHIP TESTED SEVERAL OTHER 2020 MODELS AND FOUND 3 OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. ONE OF THEM ROCKED BACK AND FORTH EVEN WORSE THAN MINE. I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND WAS TOLD BY THE REPRESENTATIVE THAT THEIR INTERNAL REVIEW WAS " THIS IS A NATURAL OCCURRENCE OF THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS." I OWNED A 2017 ROGUE WITH THE SAME SEAT. THERE WAS NEVER ANY PLAY OR MOVEMENT WITH THE DRIVERS SEAT. MY CONCERNS ARE THAT IF UPON IMPACT EITHER FRONT CRASH OR BEING HIT FROM THE REAR, THIS MOVEMENT IN THE SEAT COULD POSSIBLY RESULT IN THE SEAT BREAKING FREE DUE TO THE IMPROPER GAP BETWEEN THE SLIDE RAIL ASSEMBLY PIECES. IT IS ALSO A SEVERE DISTRACTION TO ME AS THE DRIVER. DISTRACTED DRIVING SHOULD BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY IN THIS MATTER. MY LAST CONCERN IS THIS. HOW MANY OF THESE FAULTY POWER SEATS ARE OUT ON THE ROADS ALREADY? I DON'T WANT TO SEE A SINGLE PERSON CAUSED HARM DURING A CRASH. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THESE POWER SEATS FROM NISSAN IMMEDIATELY.   Our 2020 Nissan Rouge SV has experienced a failure of the driver door electric door actuator. It will not lock using the electric door lock buttons inside the car, the button on the exterior door handle, or using the FOB. The result is that you think the car is locked, but the driver door is NOT locked and opening the door causes the car alarm to go off (the car thinks it is locked). The lock can be manually locked and unlocked using the manual actuator (inside the car on the handle). This problem is described on the internet and there is at least one class action lawsuit in discussion (https://sauderschelkopf.com/automotive/nissan-altima-and-rogue-door-lock-failure-class-action-investigation/). This failure could result in safety issues (thinking the door is locked when it is not) both while driving at highway speeds or during an emergency exit scenario where you cannot unlock the door. I think it should be a mandatory recall to fix these door locks by Nissan. In the meantime, I will try to "fix" it in our car (but will save the bad parts). I have not contacted my dealer (don't really like them). There were no warnings other than we started setting off the car alarm when we opened the door that should have been locked.

  The trunk will open and as you are putting stuff in the trunk it will automatically start shutting and does not stop even though you are under it. Very dangerous. You have to quickly get out of the way. I don't know exactly when it started but it's been awhile.

SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY (55 MPH), IT CAUSED THE DRIVERS BODY TO BE PUSHED FORWARD ONTO THE SEATBELT. THE DRIVER EXPERIENCED SIGNIFICANT DISCOMFORT AFTER EACH EVENT. LUCKILY THERE WERE NO VEHICLES BEHIND ME AS THE ROGUE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. AFTER THE VEHICLE STOPPED, THE FRONT COLLISION LIGHT WENT OUT AND THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN AS NORMAL.

  Was driving on a county highway in Mercer County, NJ that I’ve driven many times before around 40-45 MPH in perfect sunny weather, mid-morning, when suddenly the car slammed on the brakes on its own. It was a terrifying experience as it happened so fast and I had no control over the vehicle. The blessing is that no one was behind or next to me, but what’s unnerving is there was no one or no objects in front of me. It actually took me a few minutes to make sense of what happened. There was seemingly no logical reason the automatic emergency break system should have activated. I drove it slowly to the dealer and left it as it was a weekend. Next day they checked the car/sensors and could not find an issues and said the software was up to date. They opened a ticket with Nissan who advised to replaced and configure the sensor. I pray it doesn’t happen again but they can’t guarantee it won’t as they said they’ve had other complaints (which they report to Nissan). If someone had been behind me, I was driving faster, or bad weather was present it could have ended very badly. I’m terrified it could happen again that I plan to keep that feature turned off when driving on high speed or busy roads. The annoying part is you have to manually turn it off each time you start the car. I’ve only had it back for a day so not sure what will happen. While the dealer did all they could to help me and make sure my car was safe, I think these features/sensors need to be investigated, let’s not wait until someone dies or is seriously injured.

  The car door lock actuator failed prematurely. Part should last 10 to 20 years. It's not locking the door or if it is locked it won't let you in or out. Big issue regarding safety. I know past models had a recall. Unfortunately haven't heard anything on it for my model year. Getting repair done for my own safety out of pocket.

  Front right tire it feels like the ABS system is locking the tire when traveling on the FWY approximately between 60-65 miles per hour and it makes the car slowdown and pull to the right and then it goes back to normal. It has happened 2 times 9/15/21 and 9/30/21 Very scary situation.

  The sunroof is and side of the front window leak and caused the electrical system to fault. It happened in my 2017 rogue and again in my 2020. I have had it fixed twice and it still does it. They say it’s from dirt but as soon as they ran diagnostics and cleaned it out it leaks again. I have photos and documentation of both visits to the dealership and pics of the leaking.

  We have 3 2020 Nissan Rogue SV's in our family. The rear seat belts do not stay up and are too short. We have reported this to the dealer, Gainesville Nissan, and all they say is we know it is a problem, but Nissan does not have a fix. We recently had friends in the car and the rear seatbelt could not be latched because the seat belt catch is too low in the seat to be used. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD RESULT IN AN IMMEDIATE RECALL BY NISSAN!!!!!!!!! This has happened since we purchased the car in December of 2019.

  My front and back auto collision breaking sensor keeps going off as if something is in front of me. It’s not in the back as well. Also will indicate on my dash that there is a vehicle following me too far fast or too close and there will be nothing behind me. This is very scary when I first started happening. I looked it up online and a lot of vehicles are having problems with this as well as the break, actually stopping and not being able to release as a mother that travels with three children daily and take care of patients in my vehicle. This is very concerning. on the form it only allows you to give one pacific date but this is an ongoing issue. I would say on average. I see this sensor go on my dashboard at least 10 to 12 times a month. It eventually goes off, but I’m very fearful that I will be driving in the brake system will activate due to the faulty system sensors for the front and back.

  For the past week I have experienced my gas pedal sticking when I accelerate to pass a vehicle at an increased speed. It takes several taps of the brake to get the pedal to unstick. The latest incident was yesterday on my way home from work. I took my car to a local Nissan Dealer and they said they determined it was the floormat, but I looked at that each time it happened and it is not over the floormat. I'm afraid to drive this car and don't know what to do about it.

  Drivers seat, unsafe movement wall car in motion, and when applying Brake. Seat lever at times constantly drains battery rear and forward motion sensor applies brakes when nothing obstructing rear seat belts have made it difficult to either secure or unsecure passengers door locks on driver side need to go around through passenger to unlock. We have taken in the gate to be fixed because the rear gate hatch comes down on its own so many issues with this vehicle. There are documentations at the dealership with service advisor in capital Auto Mall Parkway, Nissan. San Jose, California.

  Vehicle Information: 2020 Nissan Rogue Component: Structure/Doors Latch/Lock/Linkage Description of Incident: I am writing to report a serious safety defect regarding the front door lock actuators on my 2020 Nissan Rogue. Without warning, the front door lock actuator(s) completely failed, rendering the electronic locking and unlocking mechanism useless.This is a critical safety hazard. When the actuator fails, the door can become jammed and I cannot lock my front doors. In an emergency situation or a motor vehicle accident, first responders would not be able to open the doors from the outside, and occupants would be trapped inside due to this component failure. In safety situations I am unable to use the fob to unlock/lock the doors nor the buttons inside the car to lock/unlock. This is a well-documented and widespread issue with the 2014–2020 Nissan Rogue generation. Nissan is aware of this defect but has not issued a recall. I am requesting that the NHTSA launch an official safety investigation into Nissan's door latch and actuator assemblies before this defect results in a severe injury or fatal entrapment.
