  Stabilitrak keeps coming on along with 3 other warning lights. I lose speed driving is off and it's hard to maneuver. Had 3 tests ran no response lights went off. then back on on a consistency that is getting annoying and now 3 shops can't diagnosis whats wrong. I don't have thousands to send to dealership for what was supposed to be a brand new car and this is driving like it's a 25 year old car. I think you need to check that a majority of your trax 2020 customers are also experiencing the same and this issue needs to be a recall. especially since mechanics can't diagnos this.

  June 2024 all dashboard lights flickered on then went off, radio wouldn't turn on so dealership replaced the instrument cluster. Last night had to jump car off, the battery and alternator checked out fine. However, the radio/back up camera didn't come back on. This is the only car I have and now in the shop 2 tines in 6 months for the same thing.

  This vehicle currently had 48,568 miles at time of repair. Windshield wipers were not working properly. Had the issue diagnosed at RD Banks Chevrolet in Champion, Oh. They determined it to be a windshield wiper motor. Seems too soon to have to replace. It did however, correct the situation.

  Every winter because of the cold weather the tube for the turbo cracks and causes performance problems such as lack of throttle, sluggishness, limp mode activates. In limp mode the vehicle will only go about 10 miles per hour. This has happened on multiple occasions. In the warmer weather this problem does not arise. It is only in the winter time because the particular tube is made from plastic which breaks in cold weather.q

  The manual parking brake system (hand lever) failed to adequately restrain the vehicle when fully engaged. The component is available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk because the vehicle failed to remain securely parked with the parking brake fully engaged. If parked on an incline, this defect creates a risk of the vehicle rolling and causing an accident. Additionally, a fully functional parking brake is a critical emergency braking backup system, which is compromised by this malfunction. I have not gotten to a dealer to get it checked yet. There was a warning light eventually. After a couple of times, I pushed on the accelerator once I realized the parking brake was on. I turned it off. It was only when I noticed it was a bit jankey when attempting to reverse is when i noticed it

The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormal rattling sound coming from underneath the vehicle. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that on a separate occasion, the engine overheated. The engine temperature warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the dealer unrepaired. Most recently, the vehicle was repossessed. The dealer made the manufacturer aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000.

  My 2020 Chevy Trax did not deploy the air bags, at all, when hit cement wall head on. The impact to my chest area caused a wire from a chest surgery to snap, and is now dangling inside the middle of my chest, near my heart. I have the pictures & the witness was a Sheriff. It make no sense that none of the air bags deployed. NONE. I want to report it as will be pursuing, and to make sure others know that this is an issue that can cause bodily harm and there are no recalls on these cars. That's scary. No idea now what I must go thru due to this injury which never should've happened.

The contact stated while driving approximately 60mph when the contact was involved in an accident which resulted in the driver-side air bag not deploying, and the driver-side seatbelt not locking. A police report was taken and the vehicle was towed to a tow lot, then was towed to an insurance lot. The contact sustained concussion, broken nose, herniated and torn spinal discs, and sought medical treatment. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 4,700.

  Since purchasing the vehicle brand new, the transmission went out at 30,000 miles (mostly the accelerator components), the water pump, motor, and fuel pump all went out around 90,000 miles. Have gotten all things fixed, but lights keep popping back up no matter what gets repaired. Excessive overheating—three signs light up on the dashboard: red thermometer indicating an overheating engine; check engine light; and check engine light with arrow pointing downward indicating engine speed to be reduced. This car is a danger to anyone in it or around it.

  The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at a stop sign, the Hill Assist function failed to operate as intended. The contact removed her foot off the brake pedal and the vehicle rolled backwards. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the vehicle was purchased; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer again. The contact was informed that the vehicle was taken to the Chevrolet dealer for a diagnostic test. The contact was informed that the failure was not duplicated. In addition, the contact was informed that it was normal for the vehicle to roll backward when the brake pedal was released. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure had started seven days after the vehicle was purchased. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 36,900.

  While driving home from work doing approximately 70 miles per hour the rain channel insert on the passenger side of the vehichle separated from the clips that hold it into place. Gm and Chevrolet know the glue used to hold the parts together fails and allows for this to happen. Took the vehicle to the dealership to have it replaced and was told it was not warranted because my vehicle was over the bumper to bumper warranty. This channel guards can become projectiles at higher rates of speed. Reported drivers side channel failure to dealership in May and it was never replaced.

  The driver information center in the cluster intermittently goes completely black or glitches while driving. It will go into all white dots, completely black out, or be garbled. You lose the ability to monitor your speed digitally and it causes issues with safety because it will change in and out at random times and you are forced to change your attention to the needle instead of focusing on the road. No warning lamps or trouble codes present. I have not contacted the manufacturer but have had a mechanic inspect it and he cannot find a cause but thinks possibly is an electric short or fault module. This began happening in June 2024 and is now getting worse and very unreliable.

  I am not sure of what actual component(s) failed, but I do know that a brake line that had braided steel broke and spewed brake fluid failed- this line comes off the master cylinder to ABS module. Mechanic attempted replacement and there is still no pressure in the brake line. Mechanic believes it is the brake booster now that caused the line failure to occur. The vehicle and components are available for inspection. What happened was that when I was driving on a city road at 35 MPH, a vehicle in front of me was driving reckless and when I changed lanes I approached a traffic signal that changed to yellow and when I went to slow i felt a pop in the brake pedal and the pedal went all the way to the floor and i was unable to stop when the light changed to red and rolled through the intersection. I was able to finally stop approximately 300 feet after applying the brakes. There were no warning indicators or lamps that illuminated prior to this occurring and as a result of the brake failure a collision was narrowly avoided.

  The service stabilitrak and service powersteering will come up. Have had vehicle hooked up to computer multiple times no codes. The vehicle would not drive. The vehicle has started shaking. The engine light comes on. There is 30k miles on the vehicle. I bought this 3 months ago to have a safe vehicle. My spouse and I are disabled and we do not feel secure. I googled and it says probably a computer error from factory. I'd appreciate if I can get my vehicle recalled & fixed. Thank you

  My car brakes locked down while I was driving home from work, at 70 mph, posted speed limit. I got it to the dealership, it started out that it was a broken wire, now they tell me I need a new fuse box and it's not covered. My car was purchased in may of 2020 and has 47k miles on it. The repairs have gone from 412.00 dollars, not including the tow bill to 719.00 dollars, not including the tow bill. A fuse box shorting out at two years old, and locking down the brakes is absurd. I work at a trucking company and have 40+ years experience with no tickets or accidents, I don't know how my car didn't flip forward it stopped so hard, it's hard to think about what would have happened to someone with less driving experience than I have trying to control a car in the same instance. Please check on this, if you need to know, my car is now at Don Hall Chevrolet in Ashland KY, ph. 606-618-9616, my car is in their service center.

  This is the 3rd time this has happened in our vehicle, my second complaint here. I was driving on the interstate at posted limit of 60 when brakes began locking up on me. I got it off to the side of the road, I thought my car was going to flip over the brakes locked down so hard. Service stabilitrak light came on, abs light and traction control light came on. I called the dealership who told me onstar provided the stabilitrak code for it. They told me it would be 160 to have it hooked up to diagnostics, that if it isn't covered by warranty it is a customer assumed cost. My husband replaced the ignition coil and spark plugs thinking that it was the problem, well over 200.00 for parts. The car is now doing the same thing, but I noticed it happened an incline, then realized it happened the 1st and 2nd time on a decline. I am now wondering if the transmission isn't going out at 47,363 odometer miles. The dealership is no help, they have the actual codes but won't provide them or tell me what's wrong. All I know is that for a 25,000 k car, it's dangerous. I am lucky I was able to maintain control of the vehicle on an interstate highway.

  The driver information center in the cluster intermittently goes completely black or glitches while driving. This is a safety concern because it is distracting while driving and removes important trip and vehicle information. I paid $222.79 for the dealership to inspect and they were not able to recreate the issue. They stated that the entire cluster would need to be replaced. I called GM to report the problem, but received no further options. After some research I found many posts online from others having the same issue with their 2020 Chevy Trax. I also saw that the 2024 Chevy Trax was recalled for the same issue stating it is a safety concern. My car is available for inspection upon request.

  The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Trax. The contact stated that while driving and making turns, the steering wheel had to be turned to the intended direction completely for the vehicle to turn as needed. The contact also stated that while driving and depressing the brake pedal to come to a complete stop, the vehicle failed to respond as intended, causing the braking distance to be extended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the front passenger's side lower control arm had failed due to defective factory assembly. The dealer replaced the lower control arm, and the vehicle was repaired. Additionally, the contact stated that the A/C system was inoperable, and the infotainment system screen was significantly hot and turned off intermittently while driving. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the A/C system motor was replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact was advised that the A/C system motor was not the cause of the failure, and the contact was referred to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

  At 20,000 miles I was doing 70 which was the speed limit the engine light came on and flashed and put itself into limp mode it acted fine once the car was turned off and back on the dealer hooked a scanner up and said nothing but the electronic port was wrong which the charging port wouldn’t work half the time. At 149000 miles the water pump went out as soon as I paid it off due to Chevy dealer avoiding warranty work causing it to over heat and blow a head gasket.

  The vehicle looses power and jerks like the transmission is failing. It happens almost always when when going up a hill and also if the air conditioner is turned on the car can barely get out of its own way. I've almost been hit or rear ended several times trying to merge onto the highway because the car is jerking and barely wanting to move. I have now come to the point that I have to turn the AC off in a brand new car for for my own safety and to be able to get up to a normal speed when merging onto the highway. It has been doing this since I first got it but I didn't think there was really much I could do about it. I plan to call the dealer as well to have them look at it. There have never been any warning lights or any diagnostic issues detected but believe me a problem is there! Ive recently learned that the issues Im having with the jerking and barely any power when trying to accelerate has been a big issue in the Trax since 2016. And I can confirm its still happening! There were also a few instances with a warning light on the dash and it will tell me it can't detect something in the key and I couldn't start the car until I was able to get it to read properly after a few tries of removing the key. If my vehicle is needed for inspection, it is available at anytime!

  My husband and I were leaving a local grocery store, when we began backing up and the "hillside assist" light came on for a 5% or so incline. So after backing up, we pulled out of the parking spot and our brakes began locking up, this continued all the way home (about 3 miles). The error msg, "service stabilitrak" came on when we were pulling into our driveway. We called the dealer where we purchased it because we have less than 48000 miles on it and they said that we may have repairs covered under the power train. However, stabilitrak is not part of the power train, I guess he didn't think I would know that. So we hung up, and did a little forum research and found out we would have to reset the computer to make it "unlock" the brakes. We unhooked the battery for half an hour and reset the computer and it worked, our car is running fine now. My husband was a truck driver for a decade, he knows how to drive in potentially risky situations. However, I think it should be investigated because of the potential safety risk. Since we were doing 25 mph or less this was easily handled for a short distance. However, this would be catastrophic if someone were on the highway when this happened. It could easily cause an accident at any speed. Anyone with less skill than a seasoned truck driver, could be killed if this happened to them. Please investigate this matter.

  The contact owns a 2020 Chevrolet Trax equipped with Continental Tires, Tire Line: ProContact, Tire Size: P205/70/R16, DOT Number: P50WWBVD4219. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the rear passenger’s side tire experienced a blowout. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road and replaced the tire with the spare tire. The tire was taken to a dealer that stated that the tire could not be repaired. The tire was replaced. On another occasion, the contact noticed that the sidewall on the front passenger’s side tire was damaged. The tire was not replaced. The manufacturer was contact and stated there was no recall for the failure. The failure mileage was 30,000.

  The touch screen on the front dashboard and the interior lights get so hot sometimes that you cannot touch them. Definitely an electrical issue causing both of those issues. Part of the air vent next to the touch screen has actually melted from the heat! Also, you cannot drive with the air conditioner on. The car gets no power at all. Just to go 30 mph, you have to go all the way up to almost 5 RPMs. The only way to cancel this out is to pull over, turn the car off and than back on (with no AC on). All summer long it has been doing this… possibly a transmission issue. I’ve personally only owned the vehicle for 2 yrs and the year of the car is a 2020, so there’s no reason it should be doing this. There is no exact date. It happens all the time, so I’ll just put the beginning of the spring

  This vehicle was sold to me with only one buckle fastener in the backseat when there’s three seatbelts. It somehow passed General Motors and the dealerships as a “safe vehicle”. I’ve been trying to get in contact with a manager since the beginning of this year and received no response. I’ve included photos of the multiple attempts of contact and back seat with only one buckle. I want the car to be taken back immediately as the dealership is careless and unresponsive.

  My 2020 Chevrolet Trax has experienced recurring brake problems for approximately two years. The issue involves the brake pedal becoming unusually resistant and the vehicle failing to brake normally when I apply the pedal. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection. My first known documented occurrence was August 21, 2024, one day after I picked up the vehicle from AutoNation Chevrolet. I had dropped it off July 29, 2024, and picked it up August 20, 2024, after it was diagnosed and repaired for reduced-power issues, including shaking while driving. On August 21, 2024, I was driving normally when I attempted to brake. The brake pedal suddenly became resistant and the vehicle would not stop normally. I repeatedly pressed the brake pedal without resolving the problem. I pulled the emergency brake and waited. Approximately five minutes later, the dashboard displayed a “Service StabiliTrak” warning, along with the ABS and check-engine lights. After the warning lights appeared, the brakes began functioning normally again. This is the first occurrence I personally documented on my phone to my knowledge. Over the past two years, I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and/or Big O Tires approximately 15 times for service and repairs, including work I was told could help resolve the issue. These visits also included routine services such as tires, oil changes, and emissions testing. Despite repeated service and recommended repairs, the brake problem continues. The vehicle is currently at the dealership as of August 11, 2026, being diagnosed for the same recurring brake issue. This problem has repeatedly placed my safety, the safety of my 6-year-old child, and the safety of other drivers and pedestrians at serious risk. The intermittent loss of normal braking makes it difficult to safely stop or avoid a collision. I have repeatedly sought professional assistance, but the underlying issue has not been permanently resolved.

  The coolant reservoir is missing hoses which are supposed to be connected. The head gasket is completely blown out, which is under warranty. Excessive overheating—three signs light up on the dashboard: red thermometer indicating an overheating engine; check engine light; and check engine light with arrow pointing downward indicating engine speed to be reduced. Trax stopped in the middle of the traffic light on and 7/26/25 and had it towed.

  When putting shell premium gas I noticed my cars Rmps is way lower than usually and my acceleration is a lot slower/delayed I never had this problem when I put regular and midgrade (plus) gas furthermore I noticed I got a weird B3935 error check code but I don’t think that’s related to the gas though

  Turbo has failed twice causing loss of power and it is EXTREMELY dangerous on highway. As it takes considerable amount of time to reach highway speeds. And the risk for getting in an accident is VERY high. There shouldn't be a turbo replacement every 4 months. Considering each replacement at the dealership ~ $2000. I find it hard to fathom how the 2017-2018 Chevrolet Trax get special coverage up to 120,000 mi. for failed turbo chargers yet I have the same scenario for a 2020 Trax. But EVERYTHING is out of my pocket . I have a [XXX] son and would prefer not to tell his mom we were rear ended due to a sudden lose of power in a vehicle that is becoming completely unsafe.   My vehicle lost all its antifreeze. It was the day before filled to the proper level in the overflow container. The IDLE ENGINE ALERT CAME ON. When I opened the hood, no antifreeze coolant in my square overflow bottle. My vehicle has 58, 000 miles approximately on it. I purchased at Autolenders in Turnersville, NJ at approximately 32,000 miles on it. When purchased Autolenders replaced the air conditioning unit & they replaced a radiator because I smelled antifreeze. My concern is related to the 2015-2019 recall by the NHTSA. Repair of my vehicle may be over $3,000 estimated. I need your assistance.

  UNKNOWN. On July 16, 2021 as I was about to enter my vehicle, I pulled open the driver door, and it scraped across my left calf. It definitely hurt, but I didn't think anything more of it. When I arrived at my destination I noticed a blood spot on my jeans. At that point there wasn't much I could do. So, when I got home (about 3-1/2 hours later) I looked at the wound (certainly not serious), put some disinfectant and a band aid on it. This was not the first time for this to happen. My greater concern is for children who may be standing too close to the vehicle when the door is pulled open. Thank you for your anticipated attention to this matter. The Fire Department arrived and extinguished the fire. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard. The vehicle was condemned total loss. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A Police report was filed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and an inspection was completed. The contact was informed that the failure was not a manufacturer defect. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.

  CRITICAL SAFETY INCIDENT / LIFE-THREATENING VEHICLE FIRE HAZARD. On January 2, 2026, I purchased a 2020 Chevrolet Trax. Within less than five months, while driving in active traffic, the vehicle suffered a sudden, catastrophic powertrain failure. The vehicle completely lost all acceleration, leaving me trapped and stranded in a highly dangerous roadway position. Immediately following the power failure, the engine bay filled with heavy smoke and began severely overheating. The vehicle came within moments of bursting into a full thermal engine fire. This vehicle was a rolling death trap that almost killed me on the road. No one is taking this life-threatening safety failure seriously. The selling dealership refused to address the known hazard, forcing a predatory repossession that destroyed my financial life while leaving a severely defective, fire-prone vehicle completely unaccounted for. I need an immediate federal investigation into this vehicle before this defect causes a fatal fire for another driver.

  1 problem happen several times last year 2024 my radiator fan stay on for long time after the car was turn off it should shutoff after 15 min but it stay on when I try to start my car the battery is dead, So I took to Carroll Chevrolet and they look at the car couldn't find any problem no light can on the dash board, No indicator light can on, So they told me there was nothing wrong, When the battery is dead no indicator light come on the dash to indicate that there is a problem, This happen at least 7 times last year during the Summer Months, So what I have to do is disconnect the battery and when I ready too get back in my car I have to re hook up the battery so I can start my car. I shouldn't have to do this. No invoice

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who confirmed that no recalls or warranty coverage applied to the failure and provided a diagnostic fee for further inspection. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure, and the vehicle remained unrepaired. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

  I was driving to the post office and it was raining heavily so i turn on my wiper blades however after a couple minutes of doing so I saw my MICHELIN wiper blade silicone pealing off I was about to stop the blades but the Michelin blade broke in half and got blew away by wind if i was driving at night and the rain was more heavy and both blades were the same model I probably would’ve have crashed
