  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:HARD PARTS INTERNAL/MECHANICALCampaign 25V437000 · 27/06/2025

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Rogue, 2019-2020 Altima, 2019-2022 Infiniti QX50, and 2022 Infiniti QX55 vehicles equipped with 3-cylinder 1.5L or 4-cylinder 2.0L variable compression turbo (VC-Turbo) engines. The engine bearings may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine failure.

Risk: Engine failure increases the risk of a crash. A bearing failure may cause a breach in the engine block, allowing hot oil to be discharged, increasing the risk of an engine fire.

Fix: Dealers will reprogram the engine control module (ECM) software, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed April 8, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261 or Infiniti's customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are R25A8/A9 and R25B1/B2.

  • EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCHCampaign 19V235000 · 25/03/2019

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019 Nissan Altima vehicles. The brake switch bracket may be in the incorrect location, which may cause the brake switch to remain on.

Risk: If the brake switch remains in the ON position, the brake lights will remain illuminated when the brakes are not being pressed, which may confuse other drivers. Additionally, the transmission shift lever may be moved out of the Park position without the brake pedal being pressed, allowing the vehicle to roll unexpectedly. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.

Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and install a new brake pedal as needed, free of charge. The recall began May 15, 2019. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

  • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMPCampaign 18V922000 · 20/12/2018

Nissan North America, Inc (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019 Altima vehicles. The retainer clip connecting the low pressure fuel tube to the high pressure fuel pump may not have been locked into position.

Risk: If the retainer clip is unlocked, the fuel tube may shift and cause a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire. If the fuel tube fully disconnects, the engine can stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Nissan has notified owners, and dealers will route the fuel hose into the holding clip and lock the retainer clip into place, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 11, 2019. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

  • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMPCampaign 19V316000 · 18/04/2019

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019 Altima vehicles equipped with front wheel drive (FWD) and 2.5 liter engines. The fuel pump lock ring may not be fully engaged, possibly causing fuel to leak. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 301, "Fuel System Integrity."

Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the fuel tank assembly. If the lock ring is disengaged, dealers will tighten the ring to specification. If the lock ring is detached, dealers will replace the fuel pump. Both remedies will be completed free of charge. The recall began May 15, 2019. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669.

  • BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERACampaign 19V654000 · 12/09/2019

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.

Fix: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

  • TIRESCampaign 21V169000 · 11/03/2021

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Altima and 2018-2021 Titan vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production.

Risk: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 11, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC798.

  • BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERACampaign 23V628000 · 08/09/2023

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019-2021 Altima and 2020-2021 Sentra vehicles. Damage to the camera harness can cause distortion or loss of the rearview camera display image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: A rearview camera that does not properly display an image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect the rearview camera and harness for damage and replace them as necessary. If no damage is found, the dealer will apply protective tape and reroute the rearview camera harness. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 19, 2023. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is R23C3.

MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ON A CITY STREET. I WENT TO MAKE A TURN BECAUSE OF A CURVE AND MY STEERING WHEEL AND BRAKE WOULD NOT WORK. MY EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM (WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO STOP MY VEHICLE BEFORE IMPACT, DID NOT DEPLOY. I RAN STRAIGHT INTO A STONE WALL AND FENCE. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL ABOUT THE BACK SENSOR, BUT MY SENSORS WERE WORKING UP UNTIL MY ACCIDENT. MY VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALLED. IT WAS NOT RAINING, I WAS NOT SPEEDING, AND WHEN THE POLICE CAME OUT TO DO AN INVESTIGATION, THEY COULD ONLY DETERMINE THAT IT WAS A MECHANICAL PROBLEM. WHY DID THE SENSOR NOT WORK? WHY DIDN'T MY CARS EMERGENCY BRAKE SYSTEM NOT WORK? NOW I'M HAVING TO GET A NEW VEHICLE WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING WHY THE SAFETY SYSTEMS PUT IN PLACE DID NOT DEPLOY. THANK GOD MY SON WAS NOT IN THE CAR AND NO ONE ELSE WAS INJURED.

  • 12/26/2022· ENGINE

Ice deposits forming in the engine EGR valve preventing the EGR valve from properly functioning. This results in a "limp home mode" where the engine power output is severely reduced. Ice deposits physically verified by dealer. this condition routinely happens when parked outdoors in temps below 0F. When effected the car cannot reach highway speeds. Problem resolved by completely warming up the engine followed by an engine restart to clear the ECM error.

  • 12/23/2019· SERVICE BRAKES

AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING SYSTEM HAS SERIOUS ISSUES THAT NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT BUT CAN'T FIX. WARNING LIGHTS ON DASH COME ON AT RANDOM TIMES, BOTH SOLIDLY OUT AND FLASHING, AND EVEN WORSE, AT TIMES WITH NO OTHER CARS ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE DECIDES TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES. VERY DANGEROUS. ALL THE DEALER CAN SAY IS WE CHECKED THE CAR AND NO CODES WERE FOUND, YET THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS AND TWO CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS. SAME THING HAPPENS AT RANDOM TIMES WHEN BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. DIFFERENT SYSTEM IN THE CAR BUT SAME RESULT - CAR BRAKES FOR NO REASON - NOTHING BEHIND ME, NO OBSTRUCTIONS. NOT QUITE AS SERIOUS AS THE FRONT EMERGENCY BRAKES NOT WORKING BUT STILL AN ISSUE. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES BUT I ENTERED TODAY'S DATE AS TODAY WAS THE LATEST OCCURRENCE.

Without warning, both sideview mirrors, plus the blindspot warning system began to not work. Mirror adjustments failed to work on both sides and also the blindspot warning light stopped working when a vehicle would pass. I proceeded to take my vehicle to Regal Nissan, Inc., located at 1090 Holcomb Bridge Road, Roswell, Georgia 30076, 770-998-8686 on December 19, 2023 at approximately 2:00pm, and was told by the Service Advisor, Deandre Gaines that they would not be able to look at it as the day was almost over and he scheduled an appointment for December 20, 2023 at 9:00am. Today, December 20, 2023, I attended my appointment arriving approximately 9:09am and spoke with Deandre Gaines. He told me that they would do a diagnostic check to find out what was causing this. I asked if the diagnostic check would be just for my arm rest where the control was or did he mean for the whole car, and he said no not the whole car only the arm rest, and he never stated the price. I told him that I would wait on the car, and proceeded to their customer waiting room. Once they were done, they tell me that the cost would be $175.88!!! I asked for what??? He tells me that because I have 39,747 miles and it is outside the the 36,000 mile warranty that this is what it cost for a diagnostic. I said, you never said the price!!! I had no idea that it would cost this much just for you to tell me this. He strong-armed me on the price. I then asked to speak to his manager (which I did not get his name) and the manager then said the same thing. I was so frustrated at how I strong-armed on this price. Deandre never stated the price. This is border line exhortation. He took my freedom away as a Georgia consumer by giving the price after the fact and not telling me the price before hand. This would not have been an issue if he had told me the price beforehand, as I would have had the choice to say yes or no. If additional documentation is needed, please let me know. The download is not working.

  • 12/01/2021· EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

There is no incident. I am writing about the safety hazards of the oncoming blue bright lights coming from the oncoming cars/trucks SUV's etc. I own a Sedan and on a highway these blue lights ( in all new vehicles) blind you. The trucks and SUV's are having so bright light that it is difficult to drive. The adaptive lights are no good on a dark two lane road, specially on a road with snow. This is more dangerous on an incline where the vehicles are coming at fast on a two lane dark road. In my opinion the Blue lights should be banned and instead the yellow lights should be made compulsory for all vehicles.

Tire blew out suddenly while driving at 35mph on my way to work on a well-paved/well-lit road around 6:15AM on October 7th 2021. The sidewall completely separated. There were no warning signs or objects hit/run over that caused the blow out. No one else was on the road at the time and the vehicle was going at a low speed, so luckily no one was injured. I was able to pull into a parking lot to put on a spare tire. The tires were purchased with the car as new in 2019. They had very low mileage and balanced appropriately at the time. There were no extreme conditions (location was in Palm Beach, FL where vehicle had been since purchase). Tire size: 215 / 55 R 17 94 V

  • 11/17/2025· ENGINE

My vehicle was taking to the dealership for an inspection for the nissan engine recall. During the inspection metal was found in my oil pan which the recall states they must repair or replace engine if any metal is found. I was told the engine would be replaced on 11/15/2025 but 2 days later 11/17/2025 I was contacted saying nissan denied my recall repair and to come back and pickup my vehicle. The recall states if any metal is found they must replace the engine but nissan refuse to fix the issue. ECM is causing my car to stay in a constant Malfunction state. The problem began in April 2023 and at first was intermittent. Now it stays in limp mode. The collision and traction control indicators stay on, as well as the check engine light. Two sensor codes came up and those were changed, but now the malfunction will not allow the codes to be cleared. This puts myself, passengers, and everyone else on the road in danger because when it malfunctions, it brakes without warning. Not to mention the amount of gas the car is using. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic who stated it was the ECM causing it. This needs to be recalled.

  • 11/11/2025· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On August 30, 2025, while driving on the highway, my 2019 Nissan Altima displayed a “CVT (AT) Hot / Power Reduced” warning. Power was limited, but the engine did not shut off. I immediately scheduled service at Paul Miller Nissan in Fairfield, CT. At the September 2, 2025 visit, the repair order stated: “Customer states CVT (AT) Hot Power Reduced display in dash. All past codes stored; cleared all past codes stored.” No complete diagnostic test, CVT pressure test, or fluid inspection was performed. The dealership did not preserve the freeze-frame data from the TCM. I was told that no current fault codes were present and that the vehicle was safe to operate. Relying on the dealership’s professional assurance, I continued normal use of the vehicle. About a couple of weeks later, the vehicle began to jerk and lose smooth acceleration intermittently, worsening by the sixth week. I promptly returned for service. On October 21–22, 2025, the same dealership confirmed transmission codes P0776 and P17F0, diagnosing a CVT failure and recommending full replacement. When questioned about prior diagnostic data, the service manager stated that all data from the September visit had been cleared and that the freeze-frame information was deleted and no longer available. This handling contradicts Nissan’s standard CVT diagnostic protocol, which requires documenting stored codes, inspecting CVT fluid condition, and recording internal temperatures before clearing data. Nissan Consumer Affairs later stated their review relied solely on the dealership’s findings and that missing diagnostic data would not be retrieved. Since the confirmed failure, I have been forced to rent a vehicle at my own expense, exceeding $1000 to date. The vehicle’s reduced power and transmission failure created a serious safety risk, especially as I transport my children in this vehicle. The dealership’s erasure of diagnostic evidence prevented accurate evaluation and timely repair. The issue remains unresolved.

  • 11/11/2025· AIR BAGS,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCECrash

The airbag system failed to deploy during a collision. The vehicle is currently in not my possession. The airbag control module, sensors, and airbags themselves can be inspected to determine the cause of non-deployment. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety was put at significant risk because the airbags did not deploy during the impact. This increased the potential for serious injury to the driver and passengers during the crash, as the airbags are a critical part of the vehicle’s safety system designed to prevent head and chest injuries. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Not yet. The vehicle has not been inspected by my insurance and considered totaled. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? A police report was filed for the accident, and my insurance company has been notified. The vehicle has been inspected by insurance, but both parties have been informed of the issue and an inspection has been taken place 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning lights or airbag system messages appeared prior to the crash. The airbag light on the dashboard was functioning normally before the accident, and there were no indications of a malfunction with the safety restraint system.

THIS IS A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING AND SHOULD BE REPLACED WITH A DESIGN THAT REDUCES LIGHT AT NIGHT. AS IS, THIS IS A DANGEROUS DESIGN, WHICH CAN CAUSE A COLLISION DUE TO THE BLINDING LIGHT THAT IS NEARLY UNCONTROLLABLE. YOU CAN SEE FROM THE PHOTOS THE MIRROR IS FUNCTIONING BUT IT'S ABSOLUTELY A TERRIBLE DESIGN THAT ALMOST DOESN'T REDUCE LIGHT AT ALL.

  • 11/02/2021· FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

I was driving to work and all of a sudden the warning came on for the front radar malfunctioning. I have taken my car to the dealership where I get the oil changes and was told that Nissan would not cover it. I was told I needed a front distance bracket and quoted almost $800 for repair. The rep told me that the mechanic said I had a aftermarket bumper on my car and i explained that my car was in an accident twice in the months of april and may. but that should not be the reason of the problem because the light was never on my car when both accidents ocurred and after repairs. We are in the month of september why would it be on now? This is my only source of transportation and I feel for my safety with this car that something else could happen while I'm driving and I pray that it don't. The same day it started malfunctioning a small animal ran under my car. It has been times that while on the highway othere drivers would cut me off or get to close and my sensor want alert me. Thank goodness I be watching the road.

NHTSA Online Complaint Vehicle: 2019 Nissan Altima VIN: [XXX] Recall: R25B1 (NHTSA Recall No. 25V-437) Description of the Problem: My vehicle is affected by recall R25B1 (NHTSA Recall No. 25V-437) related to potential bearing failures in the 2.0L VC-Turbo engine. Nissan announced this recall on June 26, 2025, but the status remains “Incomplete – remedy not yet available.” I have contacted Nissan Consumer Affairs and local dealerships several times, but they confirmed that there is no repair or parts available. Due to this unresolved safety recall, my state’s DMV has refused to register my vehicle, meaning I cannot legally operate it. This delay has caused significant hardship and prevents me from using my vehicle, even though the recall involves a critical safety risk (potential engine failure while driving). I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue and require Nissan to expedite a remedy for recall R25B1. I need a car urgently to drive to work. The contact owns a 2019 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the engine overheated and hot air came out of the vents, entering the cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the coolant reservoir needed to be refilled. The dealer refilled the coolant reservoir. BACK IN THE JULY I GOT INTO A REAR END COLLISION, THE EMERGENCY BRAKING SHOULD HAVE KICKED IN BUT IT DID NOT. SINCE THEN, THE EMERGENCY BRAKING HAS APPLIED MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE OPEN BY ITSELF WITH NO CARS AHEAD OR IN VIEW. IT MAKES ME VERY NERVOUS TO DRIVE THIS. IT HAS HAPPENED BOTH ON CITY STREETS AND THE HIGHWAY. I TRIED TELLING THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE AND ARE NOT WILLING TO WORK WITH ME FOR FAILURE AND DAMAGES.

In August 2024, while driving at around 35 mph, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The background was red and had white writing. The only word I got to see was "Master" something. It flashed so quickly I couldn't read it. The car lost speed like it was about to stall simultaneously. A week later I had to jump start the engine. I had my battery checked and it was good. I had to get another jump start on October 8, 2024. I bought the car new in April 2019. I've replaced the battery twice. I shouldn't have to replace the battery that often. I have kept the maintenance up as required.

I'VE HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 1 MONTH AND ON AT LEAST 10 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS MY AEB SYSTEM HAS LOCKED MY BRAKES UP ON ME FOR NO REASON. EACH TIME I'VE BEEN DRIVING STRAIGHT AND IT'S BEEN IN MY WORK PARKING GARAGE WHEN NO OTHER VEHICLES OR PEOPLE ARE IN MOTION AROUND ME. ALTHOUGH I'VE BEEN LUCKY SO FAR AND IT HASN'T CAUSED ME TO BE REAR ENDED I STILL SEE THE POTENTIAL FOR THAT HAPPENING IF THIS CONTINUES AND IS NOT FIXED.

Since I purchased this car during warranty 2 of the door locks quit working and was replaced under warranty but since the warranty has ran out the other 2 door locks quit working. So if I lock my door it will not unlock so I have to crawl in a door that will lock. The other option is not lock my doors so everything can be stolen out of my car or I could be robbed since they could open my door at any parking lot or redlight.
