In October 23, 2023, The Honda Pilot Touring 2019 activated the alarm system alone. When I attempted to stop the alarm the unit did not stop and start blinking. It displayed the codes keyless start system problems and auto engine idle system problem. The unit drained the battery. It was replaced by a new one and it showed the problem again in October 24, 2023. The unit turned ON alone the alarm, control panel motor fans and I was unable to turned Off the unit. The only way to turned Off the unit was disconnecting from batery. On October 24, 2023, the car was sent to the Honda dealer and the diagnostic was problem with the control module part 38320TG7A91. As of today I still waiting for repair due to part backorder. Neither the part is available in Honda part supplier in US. Why? It has been a part recall from supplier? Did Honda knows already of this part problem? I want to issue a safety complaint because the Honda Pilot turned On alone due to these problems (codes) described above while I was out of home. This must be investigated since the unit did not turned OFf unless battery is disconnected. In addition I have been waiting since October for repair while the unit is in a parking lot. I trusted in Honda when I adquired this car. Also, all maintenace have been provided by Honda dealer in Ponce, Puerto Rico. I never expected this type of problem in this car. A Case was opened and no response has been received yet. There has been many incidents reported on internet with the same problem in Honda Pilot. Is there is any additional information, please contact me.

Honda had issued a recall on the MOST coax cable in 2023 or 2024. As I had issues with mine, and my vehicle was part of the recall, I had it repaired in 2024. For the last 3 months, the issue has started again. When the MOST network fails, the entire infotainment system goes offline. This includes the reverse camera. I have contacted Honda, and they stated they will not correct ongoing issues with the system.

Car has failed to restart multiple times after the idle mode feature kicks in when coming to a complete stop. Emergency lights also do not function when this occurs making this very dangerous, especially at night. It can take several minutes before the car starts. Car was looked at by the dealership where they could not replicate it. I disable this feature now when driving. The car has failed to start now on a few occasions and sometimes will only start in accessory mode.

MY 2019 HONDA RANDOMLY BRAKES WHILE I'M DRIVING ALMOST CAUSING SOMEONE TO REAR END ME, AND OTHER TIMES ALMOST CAUSING ME TO BE IN ACCIDENTS. IN ADDITION, AT 19K MILES MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT (STARTED CATCHING, MAKING A GRINDING NOISE) WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE. I PULLED OFF THE ROAD TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, ONCE RESTARTED IT DECELERATED AND THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT, EMISSIONS LIGHT AND BLIND SPOT LIGHT CAME ON THE DASH BOARD.

On [XXX] we were driving on [XXX] in Nashville and experiencing a sudden loss of power and the check engine light started flashing. Thankfully we were able to exit the interstate without incident and there was a mechanic shop near the exit. He found brass flakes in the oil filter and told us that it was likely a bearing failure. We then had the vehicle towed back to the Honda dealership in Louisville KY where we purchased it new. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
- 12/27/2023· POWER TRAIN
Experiencing Judder/hesitation when car reaches a speed where it has to shift from first to second gear and from second to third gear. Sometimes it feels more like a jerk. Issue mostly occurs after the car has warmed up, so after around 3-4 miles of driving the car. Second issue was RPM fluctuation when car is at steady acceleration. Judder issue first occurred back in June 2022 when the car has ~63000 miles. It started with a sudden jerk, felt like someone hit the car from behind, this happens when the car is trying to shift from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. Issue was very intermittent at that time and restart of car would make it go away. But issue will come back every few weeks. Issue increased around ~68,762 miles, so took the car to my local auto repair shop on 8/31/2023. The shop performed maintenance listed below – •Transmission Flush / Fluid ATF DW-1 / Transmission service •Oil Change •Differential Front and Back Service/Flush •Cooling system Flush and new anti-freeze •Fuel Injection Service Issue was still ongoing, so decided to take the car to Honda Authorized service center on 9/27/23, they were able to duplicate the Judder experience and performed snapshot and diagnosed car and advised vehicle needs torque converter. Wanted to go for second opinion, so scheduled an appointment with another Honda service center, they informed me that the transmission fluid was very dark and performed the flush of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) 3 time. Issue frequency has reduced after the flush, but every few weeks the car experiences Judder/hesitation while shifting and usually turning off the engine and back on helps resolve the issue. All this while no engine lights came on.

THE FOLLOWING OCCUR ON A DAILY BASIS: RADIO CRACKLES AND POPS. THE RADIO DISPLAY GOES BLANK AND WILL NOT WORK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES TO HOURS. THE FOLLOWING OCCUR SPORADICALLY: THE INSTRUMENT PANEL (INCLUDING SPEEDOMETER) GOES BLANK WHILE DRIVING. THE RADIO AND REAR VIEW CAMERA SWITCH BACK AND FORTH REPEATEDLY (I HAVE VIDEO). MULTIPLE MESSAGES POP UP WHEN THE RADIO ISN'T WORKING. THE FAN SPEED BUTTON CAN TRIGGER THE RADIO SETTINGS. THE FRONT HEATER DISPLAY GOES BLANK. THIS OCCURRED ONCE: I WAS DRIVING UP A VERY SMALL INCLINE ON A DRY ROAD AT 25 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE ACTED LIKE IT COULD GO. THE VSA INDICATOR LIGHT BEGAN FLASHING. I HAD TO STOP, PUT THE CAR IN PARK, STOP THE ENGINE AND THEN RESTART THE ENGINE. I'M NOT SURE IF THAT IS ELECTRICAL OR AN ENGINE PROBLEM. I'VE TRIED TO NARROW THE CONDITIONS (RAINY, COLD, STATIONARY, OR MOBILE) DOWN BUT THERE IS NO PATTERN.

I was coming to a stop at a red light and the car shut off . It flashed a transmission issue and emissions issue on the dash. I tried to restart and it would start but not move or let me shift into gear leaving me stranded in the middle of a busy road. It took for an officer to remove my battery cable and then reconnect for me to be able to move the vehicle out of the road and into a parking lot. I had the car towed to the nearest Honda dealership where they saw the messages on the dash. While they test drove it all errors went away and they can’t locate an issue.

Received five warning lights at idle. Adaptive cruise control problem, Lane keeping assist problem, collision mitigation system problem, road departure mitigation system problem, auto high beam problem. None of these safety features work in my vehicle. I have taken this to the dealership to troubleshoot the issue and they confirm that the issue is there and said that it was the multi-purpose camera on the rear view mirror. This will end up costing around $2,000 to repair. Without these safety systems, my family Is obviously not as safe... As a consumer we pay extra for all the engineering and the physical components to have these safety features. - 12/18/2021· LANE DEPARTURE
While driving on highways that have had repairs done my lane departure sensing system has kicked in and both jerked my car over as well automatically slowed the speed. The issue is that the car's sensors are reading the material used to repair the roads as if they are the lane markers and have pulled me out of an actual lane and caused my car to slow while on the expressway. Twice this has happened during rush hour and I was nearly rear ended twice and almost hit a car in the lane next to me once. To be clear: in each of these incidents I was in a proper lane and was not drifting. The lane had repairs/patches done which caused the car's sensors to misread the lane's boundaries.

My car is very hesitant while driving, it pulsates as well. I can be driving at 65mph and next thing I’m doing 45-50 and the engine is sputtering and the dashboard lights up with check engine lights.I know there’s a recall on the fuel injectors for the model year I own but mine is not included in the recall which I think it should be. Scanned the codes and got P0430 and P219B which is the fuel injectors as well as raw fuel making its way back to the catalytic converter. I’ve read of thousands of Honda owners with the same issues of being left high and dry by Honda just because they refuse to include vin numbers that should have been in the original recall. I really hope this recall can be expanded as my car has been babied with only 49K miles on it. Thank you

Our Honda auto engine idle stop system routinely malfunctions. On numerous occasions, our car has completely turned off (radio and other power features go off as well) when it was in idle-stop mode and tried to start again. This has happened on major intersections when we come to a red light more than 10X with my family in the car. It causes delays in getting the car to start again. We have to put the car back in park, press the brake, and push the start button. We have to repeat these steps numerous times before the car will start again. Extremely dangerous. While not as dangerous, it does occur at stops signs. We've taken the care to the dealership multiple times. We are told they are aware of the issue but there is nothing they can do. The only solution is to disable the auto-idle button each time we restart the car.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Pilot. The contact stated that the LKAS, cruise control, and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights were illuminated, indicating that the safety features were inoperable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where DTC: U3000/49; was retrieved, indicating an internal failure of the multi-purpose camera unit. The dealer informed the contact that if the front multi-purpose camera was defective, the safety features would become inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 97,000.

Fuel Injector issue - diagnosed at Mike's Automotive, a NAPA AutoCare Center by ASE certified technician. Codes were P0430 and P219B which indicates fuel injector issue. The Emmissions System Problem check engine light goes on and off at random times, reduced fuel economy by almost 5 mpg, hard shifting, stalling. All symptoms are in line with the recall for 2019 Honda Pilots however my VIN is not included in the recall, but I believe it should be. Honda wants me to bring my vehicle to a Honda Dealership to get diagnosed, diagnostic is my cost, though I've already paid for a diagnostic at a different repair shop.
- 12/11/2024· UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On the highway, driving at 70mph, the speed of the car dropped suddenly down to 40mph. Almost caused an accident as there wasn't time for other cars to break or move lanes. Managed to exit and drove slowly to the dealership. They said it was a problem to the high pressure fuel pump.
- 12/11/2023· SUSPENSION,ENGINE
Start/Stop malfunctioning. If activated engine stops and have to physically restart. This is dangerous because can happen in redlight, stop sign, or random. Rear suspension is rough, bumpy and unstable. Yesterday almost lost control going over rough spot in the freeway. Complained numerous times to dealer and opened case with Honda of America. They simply ignore the issue. Many people having the same problem.
- 12/10/2024· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
Our Honda had a failure while driving on the highway. The camera behind the windshield apparently failed all at once and this caused all of the safety features to stop functioning and we almost had a wreck trying to get across the busy lanes of traffic because when this camera failed it caused the service brakes light on the dash to come on and stay on as well as the adaptive cruise control, the lane keep assist, the emergency braking, the blind spot warning all to stop functioning immediately without warning. We had the vehicle towed to the Honda dealer and had to pay to have the $1300 camera behind the windshield replaced on a vehicle that’s barely 5 years old. This camera that is so ingrained into all of the safety features that are the main reason we bought this vehicle should not be failing. Honda refused to assist with this repair and they will recall vehicles because a backup camera isn’t clear but offer no help for something that kills every single safety feature of the vehicle? How does that make sense? I find this to be a sad situation that will get someone killed.

OUR 2019 HONDA PILOT HAS ELECTRICAL ISSUES WHICH STARTED AROUND 11K MILES, THE DASH LIGHTS WILL GO OUT, CRACKLING NOISES COME FROM THE SPEAKERS, THE BACKUP CAMERA'S GO OUT, RADIO QUITS WORKING, PHONE SYSTEM WILL NOT WORK, INABILITY TO TURN ON OR OFF SAFETY FEATURES. AT TIMES ON CURVES THE VEHICLE WILL THINK A CAR COMING TOWARDS US IS HEADING INTO OUR CAR AND WILL APPLY THE BRAKES STRONGLY. WE ARE AFRAID THE LIGHTS OR BRAKING SYSTEM WILL NEXT BE AFFECTED BASED ON OTHER COMPLAINTS WE HAVE READ ABOUT BY OTHER OWNERS. HONDA ADMITS THEY HAVE NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM AND SAY THE ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON IT. YET THEY CONTINUE TO SELL NEW CARS TO CONSUMERS KNOWING FULL WELL THE PILOTS HAVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES WHICH COULD LEAD TO UN-SAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS OR ACCIDENTS. ASKED THEM TO BUY BACK THE CAR WHICH THEY REFUSED TO DO AS THEY SAID "THE CAR IS STILL DRIVE ABLE". I AM AFRAID TO HAVE MY WIFE DRIVE THE CAR. I AM PURSUING OTHER MEANS OF TAKING ACTION AGAINST HONDA.

Since we purchased the vehicle back in 2019, the truck would stall and want to shut off during driving on and off. We received the recall information back in August and were told to call and make an appointment to service the recall. Back in August they said they didn't have enough parts in stock to service the recall and they would call me when more parts became available. Now we are in December and the truck is getting worse and we have not received any information regarding service to it. We have two young children in the car with us daily and are afraid that something might go wrong with the car.

In January, 2024 I was notified by Honda that the fuel pump module was being recalled and to contact our Honda dealer to have the vehicle repaired at no cost. Unfortunately, for the past twelve months I have been unable to have my vehicle scheduled for repair. I have been to two Honda dealers and we also called Honda headquarters and were told by all three that they're still waiting for the replacement parts, yet they could not give an estimated date when those parts would be available.

RANDOMLY THE CENTER COUNSEL DISPLAY WILL GO BLANK AS WELL AS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DISPLAY WHICH CONTAINS THE SPEEDOMETER. ALSO FAILING AT THE SAME TIME IS THE DVD PLAYER. WE ALSO EXPERIENCE A 'POPPING' NOISE THROUGH THE SPEAKERS, EVEN WITH AUDIO SYSTEM TURNED OFF. THIS USUALLY IS WHAT HAPPENS FIRST, THEN ERROR MESSAGES (FOR EXAMPLE: 'RADIO UNAVAILABLE', 'NO AUDIO CONNECTION FOR FM', 'NETWORK COMMUNICATION LOST', 'CHECK TUNER'), THEN SCREEN GOES BLANK. WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE DRIVER IS DRIVING, THEY ARE UNABLE TO ACTIVATE OR DEACTIVATE SPECIFIC SAFETY CONTROLS INCLUDING LANE KEEP ASSIST, CRUISE CONTROL, AUTOMATIC BRAKING ETC. THE AUTOMATIC BRAKING WARNING IS ALSO LOST WHEN THE DISPLAY GOES OUT, AS WELL AS THE SPEEDOMETER. WHEN THIS HAPPENS , BOTH DISPLAY SCREENS TURN OFF AND GO BLACK, WHICH ARE HUGE SAFETY CONCERNS. FROM THE CENTER DISPLAY, WE LOSE THE BACK UP CAMERA, RADIO, NAVIGATION, DVD PLAYER AND ABILITY TO MAKE HANDS FREE PHONE CALLS AMONG OTHER THINGS. THIS CAN OCCUR DAILY, EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN, OR SPORATIC AND NOT HAPPEN FOR A FEW DAYS AT A TIME. CAR WAS PURCHASED BRAND NEW IN APRIL 2019. PROBLEM BEGAN IN THE BEGINNING OF AUGUST 2019, EXACT DATE UNKNOWN. PROBLEMS OCCUR WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY, CITY STREETS, HIGHWAY AND AT ANY SPEED AND ANY TIME.

My cruise control stopped working and all my lane assist stopped working. My front camera stopped working. I went to the Honda dealership, and it was going to be over $2000 to replace. The car is only 6 years old, it has had no accidents or problems. I’m incredibly upset that this already is a problem, and because i didn’t buy an extended warranty it’s on me to fix.

When exiting a highway, my Pilot started to shake and jump. When I pulled to safety, the vehicle was reluctant to shift into park and kept cycling back in to drive. After multiple attempts, it finally stayed in park. Dealership reported the transmission software needed to be updated. I was told this is not covered under my warranty or under a recall as this is not a common problem. After doing more research this does appear to be a common safety problem.

This is a 2019 Honda Pilot with start stop function. There is a noticeable delay in activation and getting longer with time; this is a 3 year old vehicle. During 2 other instances, the system failed and vehicle would not start on a public street. During these failures and delays, other than the obvious collision safety issue, the safety systems are unavailable via a message on the dash. When it eventually starts back up it functions normally. This is clearly the system prematurely failing or the system prematurely killing the battery (which has a normal functional life of 5 - 7 years).
- 12/05/2022· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE
When stopped at a stoplight or stop sign, the car has an auto start/stop feature where instead of the car idling, it shuts off and then starts back up when the brake is released. The car stalls and displays several dashboard warning lights and will not start back up after it auto stops. After several minutes, I can usually get it to start back up, but it typically happens in heavy traffic causing a substantial safety issue.

- 12/04/2025· VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While driving, the vehicle occasionally experiences a momentary loss of power, reacting as if the engine turned off. Power is restored after a few seconds, no longer than 10. The loss of power places everyone in the vehicle in danger, as well as surrounding vehicles. This is especially true when it occurs at interstate highway speeds, as it has done in the past. I called the dealership (Johnson Honda of Stuart FL - 772-600-4342) and they said there was nothing they could do because there is no active recall associated with this vehicle. There were no symptoms prior to the failures. The failure has occurred approximately 6-8 times over the past couple of years.

While at a stop light the idle stop engaged but when I lift my foot off the brake to begin moving forward the auto-start failed to start and vehicle reported battery failure. Put Pilot in park and made 3-5 attempts to restart before successful. Cars nearly rear ended me and my children who were in the back.
