SINCE I HAVE LEASED THE VEHICLE, THE COLLISION MITIGATION BREAKING SYSTEM IS COMING ON WHEN NOT NEEDED, AT TIMES DURING HIGHWAY SPEEDS.. I HAVE BEEN NEARLY REAR-ENDED THREE TIMES, THE LATEST CAUSING THE MAN BEHIND ME TO ALMOST GO OFF THE ROAD INTO A DITCH (THANKFULLY HE WAS ABLE TO JUST BARELY AVOID THIS) AND IT IS HAPPENING WHEN MY HUSBAND IS DRIVING THE CAR AS WELL. IT IS VERY STARTLING AND WORRISOME. THE CAR ACTUALLY NOSEDIVES AND COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP AT TIMES'OTHER TIMES IT BREAKS SUDDENLY AND THEN RELEASES OR I HAVE TO PUT MY FOOT DOWN ON THE GAS WHILE TRYING TO DISENGAGE THE SYSTEM. I HAVE TAKEN IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW TIMES ALREADY AND THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO FIX IT AS IT CANNOT BE REPLICATED WHEN THEY HAVE HAD IT (WEEKS CAN GO BY IN BETWEEN WHEN IT HAPPENS) AND I HAVE EXPRESSED I DO NOT WANT THEM CONSTANTLY DRIVING MY VEHICLE TRYING TO CAUSE THIS ISSUE WHEN I WAS TOLD EXPLICITLY THAT IF THIS HAPPENS AND THEY'RE DRIVING MY VEHICLE, MY INSURANCE IS RESPONSIBLE. I HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT WITH HONDA MOTOR AMERICA WHERE A CASE HAS BEEN OPENED AND CLOSED VERY QUICKLY. THEIR RESPONSE WAS THAT IT IS PRETTY MUCH NOT THEIR PROBLEM, I AM ON MY OWN UNLESS I AM ABLE TO MAKE IT HAPPEN IN FRONT OF AN ADVISOR, OR HAVE AN ADVISOR DRIVE MY CAR FREQUENTLY (LIKE USING IT TO GO TO AND FROM WORK, ETC. BEING THEY DO NOT DRIVE IT FAR WHEN TRYING TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE) AND THEY DO NOT HOLD ANY LIABILITY IF THIS ISSUE IS TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHERE MYSELF OR OTHER DRIVERS ON THE WORK ARE INJURED IN ANY CAPACITY. I ALSO HAVE BEEN GETTING WARNING LIGHTS AT TIMES THAT THE SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING AND MY AUTOMATIC HIGH BEAMS HAVE BEGUN TO NOT WORK PROPERLY AS WELL. THE DEALER TOLD ME THE ONLY FIX IS TO 'IF I WERE YOU I WOULD JUST SHUT IT OFF EVERY TIME I GET IN THE CAR'. I WANT IT TO WORK PROPERLY BEING IT WAS PART OF THE REASON I LEASED THE VEHICLE AS IT'S STANDARD EQUIPMENT,

  • 12/19/2025· FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

At random times, the dashboard will show "BRAKE" repeatedly when there is nothing obstructing the road or any other vehicles nearby. We have also experienced at least a half dozen times when the car will flash that and engage the brakes stopping us in the middle of traffic. The braking is abrupt and will yank you harshly in the seatbelt. I have taken it to the dealership twice and Honda has said nothing can be found in the computer and "the next time it happens to take a pic or video". That is impossible to do and is now happening enough where I considering getting rid of the vehicle but hate to pass that on to another person. When happening in traffic, I cant imagine explaining to emergency response that I was rear ended when the car smashed on the brakes but Honda has no way of confirming that. I dont know what else to do and am grateful to see others are experiencing this and informing you all of this safety issue!

Vehicle rolled backward 35 feet before coming to rest partially in traffic and partially in private driveway. Instrument panel indicated vehicle P for park throughout the entire event. After coming to rest: (partially in traffic) Vehicle would not shift out of park. Error messages on Instrument Panel stated: "Stop Driving When Safe. Transmission Problem. See Manual." Check Engine was not illuminated. Turned off car and back on. Same error message was still present. Gear selector buttons would not respond and vehicle remained in Park, partially stuck in traffic. Repeatedly attempted to get vehicle to shift out of park. Eventually the Battery Positive Terminal was removed and reapplied and tightened Vehicle started, error message no longer present. Vehicle shifted out of Park into Reverse. Back Over Prevention Camera activated at this time.

  • 12/15/2025· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Forward collision, Adaptive cruise control and all enhanced safety features related to the camera and front of vehicle sensor stopped working. Vehicle warning lights and messages do light up for every start. Only option has been to have a $2,500 repair bill for a 6 year old vehicle to install a new camera system by the dealer. This a well known manufacturer issue among owners. Infotainment system is losing network connections and completely going black. The system is only available for brief stretches after restarting the vehicle and will go black while driving. There is a known recall for the coaxial cable (MOST connection loss) but apparently my vehicle is not part of this recall. Again this is a well known manufacturer issue with this year and model vehicle. Appears to be a wiring harness issue or improper wiring installation by manufactuer.

DRIVING MY CAR ON BELT PARKWAY, I CONNECTED MY PHONE TO USE ANDROID AUTO, THE RADIO STOPPED WORKING, HEAD UNIT SAID "AUDIO IS OFF" AND ALSO THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS NOT ANSWERING TO MY COMMANDS. IN THE SAME DRIVE I ALMOST CRUSH WITH A VEHICLE COMING FROM MY RIGHT SIDE BECAUSE THE ALERT SYSTEM DIDN'T LIGHT ON TO WARN ME. AFTER FEW MORE MILES I COULD PULL OVER, TURN OFF THE CAR, OPENED THE DOOR, CLOSE THE DOOR, TURN ON THE ENGINE , CONNECT MY PHONE AND SAME PROBLEM CAME OUT. I HAVE ONLY 465 MILES WITH MY CAR AND I ALREADY CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES REGARDING THIS PROBLEMS. I ALSO ASK THE DEALERSHIP TO GIVE ME MY OLD CAR BACK BUT THEY REFUSED. WHAT SHOULD I DO. I AM VERY WORRIED ABOUT THIS CAR AND I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE AND SAFE DRIVING IT ANYMORE.

  • 12/14/2022· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE

Several times, the car shuts off at stop lights or stop signs. It has a feature that is supposed to save gas and put it into low power mode. But sometimes, especially if I take my foot off the break and press on the gas too quickly, the car completely shuts off and goes into neutral. This is VERY dangerous. Once I was on a hill when this happened and the car began rolling down and I nearly hit another vehicle. I have seen hundreds of other such complaints on the Honda Pilot. This is it's cousin, the Honda Passport and likely has the same power failure. Honda needs to recall these immediately before someone gets hurt. (It may also be related to the distance calculator being incorrect on my car. It often says I have over 1,000 miles left on my single tank.) There is for sure something wrong.

  • 12/13/2022· LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Forward collision warning alert (Brake) warning triggers frequently when opposing traffic is present. Sometimes the brakes apply that has led to several near miss collisions from being rear ended. The blind spot warning false triggers during wet conditions. Both of these items are distracting and first is dangerous. The two different dealers I have contacted are aware of these issues and have stated that Honda has no solution. One of the dealers said they could check/adjust the radar for $270 but may not fix the problem.

Thanks Honda and Continental.

  • 12/07/2025· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

I own a 2019 Honda Passport. There is a safety concern when it comes to THE IDLE STOP feature. If I do not immediately turn this feature off after starting the vehicle, the car will shut off at a traffic light and stall. It takes up to a minute for the vehicle and operator to register that the vehicle is no longer operable. The vehicle must be manually put into park, restarted, and then put into drive before the vehicle can be driven. This has happened so many times that this stop feature is now destroying my starter and will have to be replaced immediately to avoid being stranded at an intersection or somewhere not safe to exit the vehicle. My 18-year-old daughter had a panic attack, not knowing what to do, and became very upset when she was not able to drive after a light turned green. Vehicles behind her continuously honk at her and drive aggressively around her. The Honda Stop Idle must be listed as a recall immediately to eliminate a potential fatal risk due to a misunderstanding at an intersection. My daughter refuses to drive this vehicle until the feature is repaired. I feel Honda should be held responsible for a feature that is not necessary to operate a vehicle. It's an option that is an inconvenience to the owner/operator. I am looking for this part to be added to a recall so that I can have the part replaced at no cost to me.

They advise that there are no error codes and advised me to replace the battery, but could not guarantee that a new battery would eliminate the issue. I am concerned about my family driving this vehicle due to this issue.

I have had the car for three years and its never been in a collusion. Within the past two months the forward radar sensor failed which cost 1500 to replace. This part makes it so all cruise control and auto lane change functionality break. In addition a month later the gas lid broke and emissions were getting into the fuel tank. Again not major incident but I did observe that the gas tank top is very flimsy and moves a lot of when refueling. This cost me another 763 dollars. Both these issues cause major safety issues and should not be occurring on a three year old vehicle.

WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON A TWO LANE ROAD, THE VEHICLE WILL GIVE FALSE FORWARD COLLISION ALERTS FROM ONCOMING VEHICLES IN THE OPPOSING LANE. WHEN DRIVING ON A FOUR LANE HIGHWAY WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, VEHICLES DRIVING SLOWER IN THE LANE TO YOUR LEFT WILL CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN SUDDENLY (THERE ARE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT ). BOTH OF THESE ISSUES HAPPEN INTERMITTENTLY AND CAN CAUSE AN UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITION WHEN TRIGGERED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT A DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENT ON FIVE OCCASIONS. THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE.

Vehicle has frequent and persistent “Front Camera Fault” warnings appearing on the dashboard, which result in continuous alerts and the disabling of key safety features including the Brake System, Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM). These warnings occur under all driving conditions, including clear weather and unobstructed roads. The dashboard fault warnings appear on nearly every vehicle start, and all Honda Sensing feature indicators flash continuously while the vehicle is in operation. Because continuous multiple warning lights flash on dashboard, it is difficult to determine which alerts are genuine and which are false. This is thus a serious safety concern that warrants a formal recall. A diagnostic scan by dealer informs an error code of U3000-49 that is front camera needs to be replaced at a cost of $1,900, excluding a non-refundable diagnostic charge of approximately $190. Due to the exorbitant cost if no extended warranty purchased, owners reporting this do not proceed with the repair and continue to experience this ongoing safety issue.

While we were driving home from work at highway speeds with nobody in front or around us, we heard a loud pop and heard what sound like glass pelting off of the roof of the vehicle. We then look in the rear view mirror and see it flying from the car. We pull over to the side of the road and realize that our sunroof had exploded. After doing some research we found out that we were not the only ones that this has happened to.

After all the work done on my car including the key fobs I’m still having issues that the dealer said were fixed. The first image happened 10.15.22 two days after getting the keys reset on 10.13.22 (not the first time it ever happened it started in 2020 after I got a brand new 2019 Passport) and it’s happened several more times thereafter “ Keyless Remote Not Detected Press” aka my key fob is considered not remotely close to my car when in fact it’s right there. The last photo is from 10.30.22 now, this one scared me because I tried to start my car twice and nothing happened. No juice! No inside/outside car lights! No dashboard action! The 3rd attempt produced the message about placing the key to the start button and it worked. I don’t know what’s going on but this car has the worst electrical system than any car I’ve had. What am I supposed to do if the car does not start since it’s keyless and placing it by the start button doesn’t work? I’ve emailed the dealer on 10/30/22 no reply there are no recalls but we all know that can take some time just like when I had radio issues that couldn’t be recreated when I had my car serviced Honda wrote me off and no fix. Then time passed and the recall was issued and owners were given the option to select “I’m Sorry Consolation” things either refunds for repairs with proof, free XM satellite radio or HondaLink service. I’ve added 2 additional photos with my key fob in my hand yet, the car dash is basically saying it’s not close.

My 2019 Honda Passport with VIN# ending with**********2184. A safety recall of a faulty fuel pump was dangerous to drive. The faulty pump recalled from Honda NHTSA warned drivers that are at risk of crashes and accidents. The increased risk of property damage as well. I was exhausted trying to get a loaner car from my Dealership that I have all of my routine maintenance is performed. The fuel pump failure from December 2023 as of today still unavailable. On 6/15/2024 I loss control of my 2019 Honda passport. The rapid acceleration and rapidly stalling the vehicle etc loss of power and control. I hit a Tractor Trailer hitch destroying my vehicle completely. My injuries are still extremely problematic mental and physically. I was arrested for DUI which put the blame of me being Intoxicated or Driving on drugs. I was not taken to a Hospital but to jail. I requested to seek treatment in the Jail Clinic.I was released without a bond. The cops wanted my consent for blood to determine my alleged DUI. August 7th 2024 I received a letter stating that my blood was negative and rescinded of suspension allowing me to drive. I can’t drive with Seatbelt sign injuries neck, spine trauma to degenerative spine exacerbation. No car no job unable to be my elderly mothers care taker. My mental health has become significantly worse ever in my entire life. A faulty fuel pump and a false DUI arrest are daunting on a daily basis. I have also contemplated suicide. I am financially crippled. So I don’t understand if I was cleared as the cause of the accident. I was already warned about and Honda knew that without a DUI case. Hondas Safety recall of the faulty fuel pump. The indicators were a red flag but my Honda dealership just told me to just pray everything I have to drive my vehicle dates 2/22 2024 —-3/14/24 4/24 and other miscellaneous dates every time frustrating. The inspection of the faulty fuel pump was explained on the recall. After the collision nothing left to check.

The automatic emergency braking system engages in times when it is not appropriate to do so. The vehicle will flash the “brake” warning light on the dashboard, will shake the steering wheel, apply light braking, and in a few instances has applied hard braking. We have been unable to determine a specific trigger for this issue. The vehicle will engage this feature on strait roads with no other vehicles or obstructions on the road. It has happened during both rainy and sunny conditions. The vehicle has also exhibited this behavior when going up and down hills both with and without other vehicles present. The vehicle will do this sometimes when other vehicles enter our lane at a safe distance and at low speeds, at or below 30 mph. The vehicle has also done this at highway speeds of 55+ mph both with and without other vehicles or obstructions in the roadway. We have experienced this while driving curvy roads both with vehicles passing in the opposite lane of traffic and when no other vehicles are present. The feature appears to randomly engage at all speeds between 15+ mph to 70+ mph with or without vehicles on the roadway. It also doesn’t appear to matter if a vehicle is in our lane, an adjacent lane, or the opposite lane of traffic. This issue was identified and has been ongoing since the vehicle was purchased in October 2023. The issue happens at least 1 time most days the vehicle is driven but can range between 1 time and 3+ times each day. The vehicle is driven consistently 30+ miles each day with occasional trips of 300-500 miles in a single day. The other issue we have noticed is the rear cross traffic warning. We have noticed something’s this will engage when no other traffic or obstacles are present. We have also observed this feature failing to engage when a vehicle or obstacle is present. This issue does not happen often but has been observed enough that is has come to my attention as a potential issue.
