The vehicle was towed to an impound lot to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the vehicle was a total loss. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue.   When driving on local streets under 40mph steering sticks in position and has to be forcefully recentered. It also makes a clunking sound when turning the steering wheel at low speeds. At highway speeds when making slight adjustments steering wheel sticks, causing me to overcorrect which in turn jerks the car back and forth. This issue starts after driving the car for about 10-15mins. I have tried numerous DIY solutions such as turning off Lane Assist etc. I will be taking the car to Honda soon. This has been going on for about a year now.

The contact stated that the failure had been reoccurring since June 2019. The contact stated that the vehicle had been taken to the dealer three times previously and the failure was diagnosed. The computer system and the center console were replaced. The contact was also advised not to connect the cellphone to the center console. The failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The contact was informed that the failure was unresolvable. The vehicle was not repaired.   The steering is "sticky" leading to ever-changing steering effort. At times, so much force has to be applied that overcorrection occurs. It decreases the safety margin when driving and applying corrective steering to prevent lane departure or collision. Luckily, I have not had any accidents occur yet. Still, I can easily imagine that it contributes to a collision if and when the margin for an accident is sufficiently narrowed. There are no warning lights or messages provided by the car for this issue. When I asked Honda about the issue, they said I would have to pay a fee to even have the vehicle looked at. They also stated that it would cost over $3000 to fix it. They said that they could not replace it for free because it was not under warranty and there was no recall for the issue, just a TSB. I am surprised that this is still not a recall given how apparent a safety risk it is. Frequently I have to jerk the wheel for it to break free and respond to steering input. Unfortunately, Honda is not being more proactive about replacing this component. Please let me know what else I can do to help progress this to a recall. Thank you

  I just purchased my used 2019 Honda Civic LX a few weeks ago. Online forums warned me of a "sticking" steering wheel and I've noticed they're right. It occurs most often (or is most noticeable) when traveling straight at highway speeds. It seems that the steering wheel "sticks" when no turning input is given for a short time. Eventually, when a steering correction to the left or right is needed by the driver, it is met with a wheel that doesn't want to turn and requires a little extra effort to move the steering wheel off center. The result of the sticking causes the car to over-respond slightly to the left or right input and needs to be re-corrected. This appears to be a known issue for the 10th generation (2016-2021) Civics according to online user forums. I could see where a vehicle having a more severe case of this than my vehicle could pose a serious safety concern. My wife noticed it and it took her by surprise. Recently I saw a similar issue getting attention for the 11th generation (2022-present) Civics and wanted to report mine as having similar symptoms, but in the previous generation body style.   Some how my steering wheel is crooked, so while going straight, my wheel is around 2 or 3 inches to the left. If I turn it all the way, in either direction the wheel will click, click, click back, moving back the opposite direction with every click. I've changed both front CV axles, sway bar links, brakes, all 4 tires, bought 2 rims so far. Still having issues. Also makes a cluck sound while braking. stalls while stopping and going a lot. Had fuel recalls done already. When a car is coming have to hit the gas pedal to the floor to get it to go. Almost killed me once while automatically braking while switching lanes. There was an 18 Wheeler in front of me to start off with, I turned my signal on to get over in the lane beside of me, which had another 18 wheeler coming a way back. Once I got over the brakes automatically locked down due to sensing the the truck in the other lane. Every since then I keep that feature off. I wouldn't trade her for anything, it's been a wild ride and she keeps me on my toes. Literally. 120,000, 1 owner, 6 years March 2025!

  The fuel pump gave out . The Honda dealership tried to fix the car multiple times ande fuel pump they fixed is steal leaking fuel. I was in the street driving home and the car auto stalled on me. I spent almost 2 grand to get it fixed and the dealership charged me and it got worse.

THE VEHICLE WAS CLEANED AND RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND A COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 4,000.

  I was pulling into a gas station when errors started scrolling on the dash, pretty much all of the driver assist options were failing then the power steering error came up and it was almost impossible for me to turn the wheel, luckily I was going slow. Had it towed to a service station and they could not even find out what the codes that were reported meant. So I had it towed to the Honda dealership, they expected rodent damage but found none and neither did the service station. Honda then said it was the battery, but the car started great without even a second of hesitation so I was not sure how it could be the battery. They replaced the battery and said it was fixed $385.00 later. Less than 24hrs later, only about 2 hours of drive time, same issue except this time I was driving on a main road at 50MPH.. I barely managed to slow down and pull over before the steering went out again. I am not confident that the dealership is even going to be able to fix the issue since they thought changing the battery was going to fix it! They are just guessing and to lose the ability to steer my car while driving is a severe safety hazard. I guess I will have to replace the car, only 3 yrs old but OOW, as I will not feel confident it will be safe to drive in the future even if the dealership says they fixed it again. It obviously was not fixed this time!

  I was driving straight going 35mph on a 2 lane rd when my steering wheel starting making a weird noise & almost was shaking. The steering wheel then locked up to the left & wouldn’t move. This caused my driver side tire to go into the curb, & at this point my steering wheel was spinning in circles & all I could do was brake. After bumping off the curb I then was thrusted back over to the right lane (due to having no steering control) where I came to a stop grazing another vehicle. My insurance performed diagnostics on the vehicle & determined the steering rack housing assembly part failed, causing the accident. There was no damage at all to the vehicle that would indicate this part was damaged as result of the incident, therefore they are calling it “pre existing damage” even though Honda did a multipoint inspection on my car 08/03/2024 (not even a whole 3 months prior) that did not mention a single steering problem. It was ultimately determined this failure is what caused the incident. Upon further research I have found millions of Civics are recalled for this issue but not my year of the vehicle. However, I have found countless stories exactly like mine with steering failure all regarding the 2019 Honda Civic. I am now without a vehicle, insurance refused to pay for the failed part, and I have reached out to Honda over 10 times trying to get in contact with someone about this to no avail. I truly was terrified for my life and feel this needs to be addressed because as previously mentioned, there are countless other 2019 Honda Civic owners with the same horrifying stories. This puts not only owners at risk but all other drivers.

  Car has delayed cranking time. Recently got a new car battery but car has weak, struggling and delayed start up. Video proof has been sent to dealership since issue could not be reproduced while car was there for 4+ hours recently. Recall on fuel pump in the past. Other vehicle models are on current recall list but mine is not. I fear that my car will stall while driving or I will become stranded on the road due to this issue.

The contact stated that there were no other vehicles around the vehicle. The brake warning light illuminated. The contact stated that as her son was attempting to veer to the side of the road, the vehicle inadvertently accelerated and crashed into the fire hydrant. The contact stated that the vehicle rolled over twice and landed on its wheels on the road. The contact's son was able to exit the vehicle through the front passenger side door. The contact's son sustained a laceration on his face, a laceration on his arm, and severe pain on the abdomen and shoulders. The contact stated that she took her son to the nearest hospital. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow lot, where it was totaled. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000.

  I received a recall notice about the fuel pump in February 2024. I have been calling Ed Morse Honda to schedule the replacement and they haven't had the parts. I just received a notice from Honda that states the following: "This notice is being sent to inform you that these parts are now available and you can bring your vehicle in for a free repair." I called Ed Morse Honda again today, Nov. 14th and they informed me that they don't have the parts and do not know when they will get them. This is a serious fuel pump issue according to the Honda recall notice that said "can result is serious injury or death.

  I PARKED MY CAR IN THE DRIVEWAY AND PUT THE BRAKE ON AND THE CAR IN PARK. I SAT IN MY CAR WHILE OFF FOR A MINUTE WHILE CALLING MY SON TO ASK HIM A QUESTION. ABOUT 30 SECONDS AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND SHUT THE DOOR (THERE WAS NO NOISE INDICATION THERE WAS AN ISSUE), THE CAR ROLLED OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY AND HIT MY NEIGHBORS CAR. WHEN I WENT TO CHECK MY CAR, THE CAR WAS STILL IN PARK AND THE RED BRAKE LIGHT WAS STILL GLOWING. I HAD BROUGHT MY CAR IN 2 TIMES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED TO COMPLAIN THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. THE CAR WAS BRAKING ON ITS ON AND LANE ASSIST KEPT COMING ON WHEN IT SHOULDN'T HAVE. HONDA SAID ALL WAS GOOD. THE LAST TIME I BROUGHT IT IN, FOR THE TIRE LIGHTS COMING ON, THEY SAID THE TIRE STICKER WAS TOO CLOSE TO THE RIM AND THAT'S WHY THERE WAS AN ISSUE. THIS WAS AFTER BRINGING IT IN FOR THIS PROBLEM 2 TIMES TO BE TOLD IT WAS OK AND THEY ONLY ADDRESSED IT AFTER MY FLAT. BUT WITHIN 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING AWAY THE LIGHTS CAME ON AGAIN. FOR SURE THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR AND I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING IT.

  my car has one recall part . It say :American Honda Motor Co., Inc. (Honda) is recalling certain 2016-2021 model year Civic vehicles. The fuel pump impeller was improperly moulded, resulting in low density impellers. Over time, the low-density impeller can deform and interfere with the fuel pump body, rendering the fuel pump inoperative. I tried to contact some Honda dealer but they don't have the part to replace Please help me out thank you so much

  Reached out to Hill Country Honda, San Antonio Texas since the inception of this recall, approximately 2 years ago, and when I received Honda notifications to contact dealer for scheduling. Received another notification from Honda, today, November 4, 2024 and Service Advisor at Hill Country Honda stated they do not have the part and do not know when they will be receiving and to k=just keep checking in to see if they have the part. This is unsafe, disapointing, and just bad business practice from both Honda and Hill Country Honda.

  I have been experiencing some rickety, creaking sound on my steering wheel coming from the SRS module for the past month. I've taken the car to the dealer 5 times and they did some work and on my last visit, they decide to replace the airbag module but still up to now the problem persists. I think this is a safety problem that needs to be dealt with before somebody gets hurt.

  The contact owns a 2019 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while using the ignition key, the vehicle would not immediately start. Eventually the failure progressed, and the vehicle was not able to be started. The battery was replaced and the next day the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer who diagnosed that the starter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.

  I was driving on a relatively hot day around 85F and the car AC was working fine but in the course of 30 min the ac started blowing hot air on my face while I was driving on freeway. The temperature was set to 69F but it still kept blowing hot air. After a while it started giving me a headache and I had to turn it off. I got it checked by Honda dealership and there is an Evaporator leak in the car confirming why I got a headache. This is a safety risk to the passengers of the vehicle as high concentrations of the ac refrigerant can leak in the car potential poisoning or making the driver loose consciousness and loose control of the car causing an accident. The problem has been confirmed by the dealership as there is an extended warranty for the condenser due to the high pressures of the newer refrigerant causing holes in condenser and evaporator but there is NO extended warranty for the evaporator which poses a greater risk to the drivers than the condenser since the part is inside of the cabin.

  The steering on my 2019 Civic is sticky when making small adjustments to the left and right while driving at both high and low speeds. There is a creaking like noise when turning the wheel to the right while accelerating and while stationary. The stickiness of the steering wheel while driving makes controlling the vehicle difficult. The stickiness of the steering wheel also makes adjustments while driving dangerous as the car jerks to whatever side I am trying to move toward due to the stickiness of the wheel. This issue has been confirmed and recalled in Honda Civics from 2022- onward, but it appears that this recalled issue is occurring in older models, such as my 2019 Civic. No warning lights or messages occurred before this issue. My vehicle was brought to the Honda dealership where they were able to replicate the same noise and stickiness. The CV axle and sway bar links were replaced, but that did not fix the issue. The mechanic stated that the steering rack could need to be replaced as this was a common issue with Honda Civics.
