  • 12/31/2025· ENGINE

On 5/12/2025 at 104,385 miles I brought my 2019 Accord Hybrid Touring into the local Honda dealer for recommended services that populated in the maintenance minder. It was a larger service plugs, coolant flush, brake fluid flush. Early November of 2025 at around 115K miles I had a warning message appear that said engine temperature critical. I checked the overflow reservoir and the coolant level was in operating range. The next day I got the same message, waited for the engine to cool. I took the radiator cap off and added about 1/2 gal of Honda coolant. I proceeded to monitor coolant levels occasionally adding coolant. There were no external coolant leaks. I dropped the vehicle off at Wilde Honda on 12/8/2025 and after testing the system they indicated that there were coolant leaks in 3 of the 4 cylinders due to a failed head gasket. They also said the radiator might be leaking out of the top seam but couldn’t know for sure. The immediate failure of a head gasket could allow the vehicle to stall out while driving. I had the head gasket, timing chain and radiator replaced at 117,302 miles at a cost of $4200. Head gasket failure at this mileage and this brand is unheard of except when you look at the model years with this same design. There was a class action suit on the turbo charged models but more and more consumers are noticing failures with the non turbo hybrid engine as well. Honda is stating that there is no issue with the head gasket in the Hybrid models.

  • 12/30/2024· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

My vehicle is subject to NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858, Honda Campaign Number YGK, Service Bulletin Number 24-009. I have received multiple notifications via US mail from the American Honda Motor Co, Inc., Automobile Division notifying me of a recall of the fuel pump. The first notice was received in February 2024 with instructions to contact my local dealer as soon as possible. I first began contacting my local Honda dealers (Findlay Honda, Henderson, NV; Centennial Hills Honda; Honda West) in the Las Vegas, Nevada in March 2024. Each time, I was informed that none of the dealerships had the fuel pump and to call back in May 2024. I called in May 2024 and was instructed to call in July 2024. I called in July 2024 and was instructed to call in October 2024. I called in October 2024 and was instructed to call in November 2024. I called a week before Thanksgiving 2024 and was instructed to call in December 2024. Last week, I attempted to contact each dealership again about the fuel pump. The service departments of Findlay Honda, Henderson NV and Centennial Hills Honda would not answer the telephone. Honda West placed me on a fuel pump wait list. My vehicle has been on a recall list for almost a year with no repairs. I do not have any confidence that Honda will reimburse the cost of the repair if I utilize another mechanic.

ON APRIL 13, 2019, MY BRAND NEW, 2019 HONDA ACCORD SPORT 2.0T ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH, WITH MERE/MILD RAIN BROUGHT AN ALERT OF COLLISION MITIGATION WARNING ONTO THE DASH. THE CAR HAS SINCE ALERTED ME OF THE SAME PROBLEM ABOUT 5 TIMES, IN BOTH WET AND DRY HIGHWAY CONDITIONS. WHEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THE CAR HAD NO RECORDS OF THE ALERT. NOT KNOWING IF THE HONDA SENSING SYSTEM WILL WORK IS VERY ALARMING AND I HAVE BECOME SCARED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS I CAN NOT TRUST THAT THE VEHICLE WILL PERFORM AS ADVERTISED. I AM PAYING FOR A SERVICE THAT IS NOT SAFE TO USE OR NOT SAFE FOR OTHER MOTORISTS AS MANY OTHER ACCORD AND HONDA OWNERS HAVE REPORTED THE SAME ON THEIR CARS.

I have had (2) headlight assembly replacements on my Touring due to water infiltration into the housing causing obscurity of the beam. I am now having a third headlight assembly problem due to water infiltration. This is under standard wear conditions and no damage to the components. I've heard other drivers having the same issue. Honda is refusing to resolve the issue for me.

  • 12/23/2025· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I am reporting a failed recall remedy. Honda was unable to provide parts for Recall 23V-858 for over a year. Operating the vehicle during this delay resulted in engine starvation, overheating, and a catastrophic cylinder head gasket failure. The dealer and manufacturer are now refusing to cover the consequential damage caused by their own delay.

The problem has not been confirmed or inspected by the dealer or other representatives.

I spoke with Josh (Service Manager) on 02/22/2023 after coming back to the dealership after the scar stalled while driving on Interstate 635. Almost getting in an accident and trying to drive the car back to the dealership, the car began bucking once again and wouldn't go pass 40 miles an hour on an interstate where the speed limit reaches 70 MPH. I called and spoke to Mr. Rey, the service advisor an explained I was coming in. I arrived and told him I wanted to speak with the service manager immediately, he informed me to give him a minute. I stated to Josh that this was unacceptable and for me to be a loyal customer to where since I've been in Texas for over two years, my car has been serviced there and I have a complete record to show that. All maintenance has been completed and things that aren't, plans are made with Mr. Rey to complete them at a later time that works for my budget. After talking with him, I was told to wait in the waiting room while he looked a few things. After an hour, Mr Rey, comes and said that Josh had two options. To trade out of my car or pay $1495 to have the head gasket fixed instead of paying $2995.00 before taxes. After going back and speaking with Josh, I explained I shouldn't have to pay that because his guys messed up to where you guys have already had to come out of pocket $1500. If he messed up again, that is your problem not mine so I shouldn't have to pay that. He basically said that we already spent money and not putting more into it but I kept telling him, that it was an issue they caused. You took liability for it already when you paid for the first incident then you come back saying, "oh trade out it"? He stated that was all he could offer, so after I ask Mr Rey to bring my car around and explained to Mr. Rey (Because Josh was becoming disrespectful).

I am the original owner of a 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid that I have taken to Envision Honda of Milpitas. I have been consistently maintaining according to Honda’s recommended service schedule. No prior issues were noted. What happened to it is beyond normal wear and tear (failed head gasket). My car only had 78,731 miles on it when incident happened. I did not have any concerns with the vehicle until 11/12/2025 while driving on Freeway. On 11/12/2025, while commuting home from work in the evening on the freeway, all warning lights came on (10/10 lights, including the check engine light). The vehicle could not exceed 50 mph on freeway, and began rumbling. The vehicle had no prior issues. I exited the freeway with hazard lights activated and contacted AAA for assistance. I took my car to Envision Honda of Milpitas the next day (11/13/2025) was informed that the head gasket was blown off. "Cylinder leak down test done and found head gasket is blown on chamber 1 causing the coolant to leak inside the combustion chamber and causes cylinder to misfire. Recommend to perform teardown and inspection, head gasket replacement and re-check." It was dangerous as I was not able to speed more than 50 mph in the freeway while other cars were going fast. I am currently pregnant and was scared.

  • 12/17/2025· ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The vehicle, a 2019 Honda Accord, experienced a catastrophic engine failure (blown head gasket) and entered "Limp Mode" after being operated for approximately 18 months with an unaddressed, high-priority federal safety recall (NHTSA 23V-858). The vehicle currently displays DTCs P0100, P0113, and P023D, which indicate severe air/fuel metering and boost pressure correlation failures. Primary Cause: Consequential Thermal Stress The primary cause is likely thermal degradation of the head gasket resulting from a prolonged "lean-burn" condition. Recall Defect: The recalled fuel pump impeller is known to deform, restricting fuel flow. Lean Condition: A restricted fuel supply causes the engine to run "lean" (too much air, not enough fuel). Lean combustion is significantly hotter than normal combustion. Heat Accumulation: Over 1.5 years of operation with this restricted flow, the engine experienced repeated, excessive thermal cycles that compromised the structural integrity of the head gasket. Limp Mode Trigger: The stored codes (P0100/P0113) show the ECU was struggling to compensate for the erratic fuel/air environment created by the failing pump. Secondary Assessment (The Dealer's Claim): The Service Advisor (Paul) has alleged that aftermarket components and a missing turbo gasket caused the failure. Assessment: While aftermarket parts increase scrutiny, a missing external turbo gasket typically causes an exhaust leak or loss of boost, not an internal head gasket failure. Contradiction: The dealer must provide empirical proof that these parts caused the failure, whereas the NHTSA recall is a pre-documented, manufacturer-admitted defect known to cause the exact stalling and "limp mode" symptoms the vehicle is currently exhibiting. Conclusion: The most probable cause is manufacturer negligence. By failing to provide a remedy part for 18 months, the manufacturer forced the vehicle to operate under a documented defect that creates the exact high-heat conditions required to cau

  • 12/17/2025· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Gas filler "system" does not have screw on/off gas cap. It has a rubber covering with a slit through which driver inserts gasoline station hose metal nozzle. When removing gasoline station hose nozzle, rubber slit "appears to close" but drops of gasoline remain on the rubber covering & drop onto the vehicle body. I wipe off gasoline drops with paper towel. I'm concerned about large amount of gasoline used & question if "rubber slit covering" provided instead of a tighten screw on/off gas cap allows gasoline/vapor to evaporate & condense on rubber covering of car fuel delivery hose to tank. This occurs in very cold weather as well as warm weather. Recall information on "Honda Fuel Pump" doesn't include this vehicle fuel delivery system issue. Aunt sold me the 2019 Honda Accord Sedan recently on [XXX]. I didn't notice this "no locked gas door" (push on gasoline door to open the door) which opens to rubber "pouch with slit" covering over delivery hose filling area down to gas tank. Aunt sees these 2 mechanisms as making filling gas tank easier without release of inside lever lock to gas delivery door nor having to turn a screw cap to open/close at gas station fueling. Aunt is instructed by Honda DarCar/Fairfax, VA to take Honda Accord in for maintenance only once a year. She was told she can check electronics system info regarding "% oil life remaining" as guide to when to get an oil change. A problem at this point is an alterable/'reset-able" electronics guide to when to get an oil change which can change "% oil life remaining" by accidental reset. By comparison, my now out-of-service 2011 Honda Accord had a normal locked gas filling door release from inside which opened onto a screw cap which could be tightened to stop gas vapor leak, evaporation/condensation & for gas theft & vandalism protection & an unalterable "% oil life remaining" wrench icon which resets only after oil change. I own a 2019 Honda Accord equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. At approximately [142,000] miles, the vehicle began overheating and losing coolant with no visible external leaks. A Honda dealership diagnosed the vehicle with a blown head gasket caused by coolant intrusion into the engine. The repair cost quoted was several thousand dollars. Honda has denied goodwill assistance dates DEC 16, 2025 at 1:35PM, despite documented maintenance and the widespread nature of this issue in Honda 1.5L turbo engines. This failure occurred under normal driving conditions and presents a safety concern due to sudden overheating, loss of engine power, and potential engine failure while driving. I believe this is a known design defect affecting multiple Honda vehicles, and Honda has failed to properly disclose or remedy the issue.

Automatic braking occurs at any time for no reason. This is extremely dangerous. I've almost been hit from behind a dozen times when my car suddenly puts on the brakes for no reason. I submitted this information to you several years ago and never heard a thing back. This system was apparently designed for people who drive impaired/distracted who shouldn't be on the road to begin with. I drive attentively and if I need to apply the brakes I do so. When I'm being tailgated it freaks me out because I know it's an accident waiting to happen if my car slams on the brakes. I can not turn this function off or disable it. I saw that this is already under investigation by nhtsa and want to add my name to the list. The car randomly brakes at times for no reason which I find extremely dangerous. It's never caused an accident for me, but I've had at least a dozen near misses of being rear-ended. I've tried to turn off the automatic braking but it still randomly slams on the brakes by itself. This system needs to be disabled as it's just a ticking time bomb. Your form won't let me answer the questions so I'll do it here: Date: Always Speed: Any speed Mileage: Since I purchased the car new.

HONDA 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION REVERSE GEAR LOCK OUT SAFETY MECHANISM FAILED TO WORK UNTIL NOW. THE PROBLEM IS STILL EXISTED ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER MY CAR WAS SERVICED AT HONDA DEALER FOR ENGINE BLOCK REPLACEMENT (FAILED AT 3400 MILES), REVERSE GEAR LOCK OUT DO NOT WORK. HAVING THE REVERSE GEAR GATE LOCATED AT FAR RIGHT, THERE MUST BE ELECTRONIC LOCK OUT MECHANISM NOT ALLOWING THE SHIFT SELECTOR PASS THE 5TH AND 6TH GEAR COLUMN WHEN CAR IS MOVING FORWARD AT CERTAIN SPEED. SINCE SUCH FUNCTION HAS FAILED ON MY CAR, I CAN EASILY MOVE THE SHIFTER TO THE COLUMN WHERE REVERSE GEAR IS AT ANY SPEED. PROBLEM IS IF I SHIFT FROM 5TH TO 6TH, SHIFTER SLIDE INTO REVERSE GEAR GATE AND GRINDS AT HIGH SPEED. IT CAUSED ANOTHER SHIFTING PROBLEM AND IT MAYBE POTENTIALLY SAFETY ISSUE AT HIGHWAY SPEED. WHEN I SHIFT FROM 4TH TO 5TH, AGAIN SHIFTER SLIDES PASS THE 5TH GEAR GATE, AND ENDS UP MISS SHIFT SINCE THERE IS NO FORWARD GEAR ON TOP OF REVERSE GEAR SELECTING COLUMN. I FEAR THE GRINDS SHIFTING TO 6TH. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITHOUT OVERDRIVE FOR MORE THAN 1 MONTH.. IT COULD CAUSE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION ACCELERATING AT RAMP TO MOTORWAY. THERE ARE SIGNIFICANT TIME DELAY ACCELERATING WITH HIGHER GEARS ON FREEWAY. HAVE BEEN TO HONDA DEALERS 3 TIMES. UNFORTUNATELY ALL OF SERVICE ADVISORS AND TECHS WERE AWARE OF THE GEAR SHIFTING SAFETY FEATURE WHICH IS CLEARLY PUBLISHED IN OWNERS MANUAL PAGE 490.

2019 Honda Accord LX I purchased this car late September in 2022 from Mclarty Honda in Little Rock, Ar with less than 25,000 miles. To date the brakes have locked up multiple times on my way to work for no reason whatsoever and I have a witness to every time. I would be driving down hwy46 headed to Sheridan, Ar and the brakes would engage for no reason and completely stop my car in the middle of the road. Nothing would be in the road for it to sense/detect or whatever to even need to apply the brakes. I recorded a video of the brakes smoking like my car was on fire just yesterday morning when i got to work. I’ve called the dealership multiple times and they have no response or reason for why my car is doing this, I have even scheduled it to be repaired two times and the dealership hasn’t been able to fix the problem and it pisses me off they are even able to sell such a piece of shit vehicle. The dealership along with honda should be held accountable, apparently they have known about this issue since 2015 and yet to do anything to correct the issue just swept it under the rug and left the consumer to deal with their problems. Whats even worse is Congress has made it a law that new vehicles are required to have this worthless piece of technology installed on each vehicle, smh like they have any clue what the American people want or need lol and why is it taking so long for NHSTA to get a response from Honda? This is ridiculous and the people who are in charge need to get off their butt and get something done for the people instead of their pocketbook. Real talk

CAR HAS GONE INTO LIMP MODE TWICE. FIRST TIME WAS WHEN I HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS. I WAS DRIVING 65MPH AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED IN THE HIGHWAY. I HAD TO GET THE CAR OFF THE ROAD TO KEEP FROM GETTING HIT AND CAUSED SOME UNDERCARRIAGE DAMAGE. THE CAR WAS TOWED. HONDA "FIXED" THE LIMP MODE ISSUE BUT REFUSED TO ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY OTHER DAMAGE CAUSED BY THE CAR GOING INTO LIMP MODE. LAST MONTH I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK AT 2:30 AM AND THE CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE AGAIN. THE CAR WAS TOWED FOR A SECOND TIME TO A DIFFERENT HONDA DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY STATED THERE WAS NO WAY THE FIRST DEALERSHIP FIXED THE CAR. THERE WERE METAL SHAVINGS NOTED THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM, THE FUEL INJECTOR AND ALL OF THE CYLINDERS HAD TO BE REPLACED. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT THE METAL SHAVING NOTED IN MY OIL AND THROUGHOUT THE SYSTEM CAUSING FURTHER ENGINE DAMAGE AS TIME GOES ON. HONDA HAS ALSO REFUSED TO PAY FOR MY RENTAL CAR DURING THIS PROCESS EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A MANUFACTURING ISSUE. HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 6/7/19 ALSO STATED THAT IF THE CAR GOES INTO LIMP MODE AGAIN AND I GET HIT, ALL ADDITIONAL DAMAGE CAUSED FROM THE ACCIDENT WILL BE MY RESPONSIBILITY.

I WAS AT A RED STOP LIGHT ON A LOCAL STREET. IT WAS A CLEAR, SUNNY DAY. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I STARTED TO PROCEED. I WAS IN THE LEFT HAND TRAFFIC LANE (THERE ARE TWO LANES FOR A LEFT HAND TURN AT THIS SPOT). AS I PROCEEDED TO MAKE THE TURN, THE BRAKE MITIGATION SYSTEM ACTIVATED THE BRAKE. THERE WAS NOTHING IN FRONT OF ME. THERE WAS A CAR BEHIND ME AND TO MY RIGHT. I DRIVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO THIS ACTION CAUSED MY CAR TO STALL. LUCKILY THE CAR BEHIND ME DID NOT HIT ME. I TRIED TO RESTART MY CAR QUICKLY. I HAD A HARD TIME RESTARTING THE CAR AS THE PARKING BRAKE MUST BE ON TO START THE CAR AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED AND FOOT BRAKE PRESSED. AS THIS ALL HAPPENED SO QUICKLY AND I DID NOT EXPECT THE CAR TO STALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I DO NOT LIKE THE MITIGATION SYSTEM AS YOU HAVE TO TURN IT OFF EACH TIME YOU START YOUR CAR. FOR A CONSCIENTIOUS DRIVER YOU DO NOT NEED THIS SYSTEM. IT IS ONLY A BURDEN AND A HAZARD. I CALLED A LOCAL DEALER TO ASK ABOUT SHUTTING THIS SYSTEM OFF PERMANENTLY AND THE ADVISOR TOLD ME SHE HAD A HONDA THAT DOES THE SAME THING AT A CERTAIN ROAD SHE DRIVES WHERE THERE IS A DIP IN THE ROAD. PLEASE CHECK TO SEE IF HONDA IS HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE MITIGATION SYSTEM.

The wheels on the Honda Accord stick out further than the tires thus get scuffed up easily. I had them repaired once shortly after purchasing the car but it was pointless. I believe everyone who has driven the car has damaged the wheels further by accidentally hitting a curb.

Twice in the last 4 weeks ( 11/18/21 and 11/30/21) my 2019 Honda Accord came to complete and sudden stop for no apparent reason. My foot was on the gas, my speed was approximately 25mph, an orange warning light on the dash was activated very briefly. Cars behind me had to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Going from 25 mph to Zero, caused my neck to snap forward and back and forward again which was very painful. The mileage on my car was approximately 6,650. This exact problem first occurred on 2/6/21. Subsequently, I took the car to the dealershipd where they performed and scanned the vehicle and no codes or error messages were found. Ran air fuel system test etc. and they advised me that no system failure was detected. I reported the incident to NHTSA on approxamately 2/10/21. My Complaint Number for the 2/6/21 incident is 11395658.
