On November 25th, 2025 I had my wife, kids and baby grandson in my truck driving approx 50 mph when the trailer brake light appeared on my dash. I thought that was strange since I was not pulling a trailer. Shortly after my truck felt like it was going to stall and complete loss of power. I pulled into a turn lane and coasted into a gas station parking lot. I put the truck into park and turned the motor off and then restarted it. The truck was running extremely poor and sounded like it had rocks loose in the motor. I had it towed into an automotive repair facility I have always used and they told me my engine was gone and had to be replaced. I had been told by an oil change company a few weeks before that this engine was under a recall. I checked into it but this model year was not included. I did further research and founded out that this model year was under review. Something needs to be done as I was lucky this was not a busy highway or this could have ended worse.

I was driving up the road truck cranked up fine started a morning commute, on cruise control the truck instantly out of nowhere lost power completely with no signs of anything and engine won’t attempt to turn over now. While traveling in high-speed traffic, the vehicle experienced a sudden and catastrophic mechanical engine failure without any prior warning lamps, messages, or symptoms. The failure manifest as a loud, rhythmic ticking and knocking noise immediately followed by a sudden loss of propulsion and severe engine shuddering. Safety Risk: The loss of power occurred in active traffic, creating an immediate crash hazard. Because the engine could no longer maintain speed, I experienced multiple near-miss collisions while attempting to navigate the vehicle to safety. This "limp mode" state placed myself and other motorists at extreme risk of a rear-end or side-impact collision. Component & Inspection: The failed component is the engine (6.2L L87 V8), specifically believed to be a failed lifter or bearing within the Dynamic Fuel Management system. The vehicle and its engine are currently available for inspection. Confirmation: The problem has been confirmed by a certified dealership service center. Diagnostic codes include P0300 (Random Misfire) and P0016. The dealership identified the symptoms as consistent with internal mechanical failure.

We were driving down a farm to market road at about 50 mph pulling an empty cattle trailer when we had a severe power loss, lots of dash lights and warnings. I noticed white smoke coming from the tail pipe. We limped it back to the house and unhooked the trailer and idled it into the Chevrolet dealership in Portland TX. The dealership just called and they said the #5 cylinder failed, there is metal in the oil and it will need an engine replacement at a cost of over $11,000.00. The truck is a 2019 and has just over 54,000 miles on it. No engine should fail at 54,000 miles and no company should sell one that does. Pulling a loaded trailer at highway speeds with a total engine failure could easily cause death to passengers and livestock. 12122025

I have a 2019 gmc sierra 1500 elevation. The dash indicated low oil with 60lbs of oil pressure. I stop park my vehicle and see there is a puddle of oil underneath my truck. It appears to be leaking (extremely high flow rate) from the oil cooler lines where the rubber has given way from the metal crimping. Apparently after calling the dealership and reading online there isn't any type of recal for this issue even tho there is a Customer Satisfaction Program N212326940 implemented for Alaska and Canada due to the cold weather climate causing the failure. I live in western Pennsylvania and currently had a cold snap of 11°F. The dealership wants me to pay out of pocket and take my vehicle in to get diagnosed for service , which also means paying to have it towed to the dealership since it is un-drivable . Then pay for the very obvious service and file to see if I can be potentially reimbursed. This vehicle has less than 70,000 miles on it and is outside of the warranty. However this is a reported common issue online and even through the service department in Zelienople Pennsylvania because the tech. Told me they have the parts in stock because they do alot of them when I was inquiring into the issue.

BRAND NEW TRUCK, AT4, 15K MILES, 5 MONTHS OLD. WAS VERY COLD TODAY OUTSIDE, WAS IN A STORE AND STARTED VEHICLE REMOTELY. CAME OUTSIDE TO A RUNNING VEHICLE, SAT IN DRIVERS SEAT AND PRESSED START BUTTON. NOTICED MULTIPLE WARNING SOUNDS/LIGHTS, DASH READ "BRAKE SYSTEM FAILURE 62MPH TOP SPEED", SERVICE TRAILER BRAKE SYSTEM", STEERING ASSIST IS REDUCED DRIVE WITH CARE" SERVICE ESC". THE ABS, CHECK ENGINE, BRAKE AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS WERE ALSO ILLUMINATED. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED MY LOCAL GMC DEALER (WHO IS 5 MILES AWAY) AND READ THEM ALL THE MESSAGES AND ASKED IF THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE TO THEIR LOCATION. AFTER A BRIEF HOLD, THE SERVICE TECH STATED THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE OVER. I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE OUT ONTO RT6. WHILE STILL IN THE PARKING LOT, TRAVELING APPROX 10-15MPH I WAS BARELY ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. IT TOOK MY FULL POWER ON THE PEDDLE TO STOP, AND APPROXIMATE 20-30 FEET OF DISTANCE BEFORE IT STOPPED FULLY. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE SERVICE TECH BACK AND INFORMED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH 5% OR SO BREAK CAPACITY. SHE PROVIDED THE GM NUMBER FOR ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. THE TRUCK WAS TOWED TO THEIR SHOP A SHORT TIME AGO AND I AM AWAITING THEIR FEEDBACK. ON A SIDE NOTE, I WAITED IN THE TRUCK AS I DID NOT WANT TO SHUT IT DOWN, I WANTED THE SERVICE TECH TO SEE EXACTLY WHAT WAS ON THE SCREEN. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINS, WITH ME IN THE DRIVERS SEAT WITH THE KEYS, THE TRUCK SHUT ITSELF OFF. WHEN IT RESTARTED THE MESSAGES WERE GONE, BUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED. LUCKILY I TOOK PHOTOS AND VIDEO RECORDED THIS ISSUE PRIOR TO. THE LOSS OF BRAKES FOR ANY ISSUE SHOULD BE TREATED WITH THE UTTERMOST CARE FOR SAFETY OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. GM installed a 2023 6.2L engine in my 2019 GMC. The engine locked up while I was driving it. It had about 54,000 miles on it. There is a recall on the vehicles with the 6.2 GM engines that were made between 2021 and 2024. However since they installed it in my 2019 they are telling me they won't warrant it because the recall just list the vehicle year and not the motor year. This is not right.

The rear window on the 2019 GMC Sierra SLT leaks water into the cab. This presents a serious concern to the owner of the vehicle because unless you are specifically looking for the leak you may not even know there is one. Upon noticing the leak, one can witness a steady drip of water behind the rear seat, drivers side. My personal concern is that what happens after the water has leaked and had gone unnoticed for an extended period of time, does mold start to grow? Does my truck have mold growing in it? With two young children in the vehicle I am concerned about their health and safety. My frustration with this issue is that GM refuses to acknowledge that there is an issue. My dealer has brought this issue up with GM but the claim has been denied. I have no idea how long the leak has been happening but it’s a manufacturing problem that exists and it certainly shouldn't be the owners responsibility to fix the problem. More importantly, it shouldn't be my young childrens health that is affected by the manufacturers incompetency and ignorance.

RANDOM INTERMITTENT VEHICLE BRAKE FAILURE. I HAVE EXPERIENCED RANDOM BRAKE FAILURE FOR 45 MINUTES AT A TIME ON MY SIERRA. NO CODES OR WARNINGS ARE SHOWN WHEN IT HAPPENS. OCCURS WHILE DRIVING, AND RANDOM. CONDITION CREATES AN EXTREMELY HARD PEDDLE WITH EXTREMELY REDUCED BRAKING POWER. SAFE STOPPING DISTANCE IS INCREASED AT LEAST 3 FOLD. VEHICLE BRAKES WILL START WORKING AGAIN IF TRUCK IS LEFT PARKED AND IGNITION OFF AFTER 30 MINUTES. I BROUGHT THE TRUCK INTO THE SERVICING DEALER, THEY DROVE IT 30 MILES AND A WEEK LATER, GM INSTRUCTED ME TO PICK MY TRUCK BACK UP AFTER NO REPAIRS DO TO THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. I EXPRESSED EXTREME CONCERN ABOUT SAFETY, AND GM STANCE IS, "NO CODES NO PROBLEM". I WAS INSTRUCTED BY GM TO SIMPLY BRING IT BACK IN WHEN MY BRAKES FAIL AGAIN. 2 WEEKS LATER, MY BRAKES FAILED AGAIN, CREATING A DANGEROUS SITUATION. ONCE AGAIN, THE TRUCK CORRECTED ITSELF AFTER SITTING WITH THE IGNITION OFF FOR 30 MINUTES. I BROUGHT IT BACK TO THE DEALER, AND THEY DROVE IT AND "COULD NOT DUPLICATE CUSTOMER CONCERN" ONCE AGAIN. ONCE AGAIN I WAS INSTRUCTED TO BRING THE TRUCK BACK IN WHEN THE BRAKES FAIL DURING THEIR OPEN BUSINESS HOURS SO THAT THEY CAN SEE IT FOR THEMSELVES. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CONDITION, AND THIS TRUCK SHOULD BE OFF THE ROAD AND CONCERNING TO GM, BUT IT IS NOT. THROUGH RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND MANY OTHER PEOPLE WITH THE SAME TRUCK YEAR AND MODEL WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS, AND GM IS NEGLIGENT TOWARDS OUR SAFETY AND THE INNOCENT PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. THIS NEW "E-BOOST" BRAKING SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED BEFORE MY FAMILY OR OTHERS ARE KILLED OR INJURED BY THIS DEFECTIVE SYSTEM. BRAKE FAILURE OCCURRED BOTH TIMES WHEN ATTEMPTING SLOWING DOWN FOR CURVES AND STOPPED TRAFFIC AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND PERSISTED AT ALL CONDITIONS UNTIL IT RESET ITSELF AFTER SITTING OFF FOR 30 MINUTES.

The rear window defogger is smoking and sizzling. The connection on the passenger side glass that connects the moveable harness for the center glass smokes and sizzles when the rear defogger is on. There is a recall on these vehicles in Canada for this issue. My concern is that it may start a fire. The connector is right behind the right rear passenger seat, imposing a threat to the occupant of that seat. Also, the rear defogger comes on automatically with heated mirrors when remote started. I cannot use remote start, mirror defogger, or rear glass defogger currently due to this defect. I noticed a sizzling sound while driving the truck. I pulled over and began searching. I found smoke being emitted from the connector attached to the rear glass on the passenger side. This is a serious issue. It is a fire hazard. The vehicle could catch fire while driving or while remote engine start has been activated in temperatures lower than 40 degrees. There is a difference in an uncommon electrical short and a known problem. General Motors is aware of this issue and there has not be a notification to owners in the United States nor are there any recalls or suggested repairs. The safety of consumers is in jeopardy with this known problem occurring in multiple lines of their vehicles. Any with a power sliding glass could be affected.

THIS MORNING WHEN I USED THE BACKUP CAMERA IT WAS PERFECTLY FINE. ONCE I GET TO WORK AND STARTED BACKING UP AT A SLIGHT TURN BC I WAS PARKING NEXT TO ANOTHER VEHICLE IT GAVE ME A BLUE SCREEN SAYING 'SERVICE REAR VISION SYSTEM'. IT ALSO DOES THIS WHILE STATIONARY. THIS IS A HIGHLY UNSAFE PROBLEM TO ME, BECAUSE IT DOESN'T ALLOW ME TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE SAFELY PUTTING ME AND OTHERS AT RISK.

Just had my 2019 GMC sierra 1500 Denali engine fail. My truck has 75k miles oil changed regularly no codes, issues or dash lights. Recently had it at GMC I Folsom California for a rear window replacement. Full inspection with no issues and nothing found wrong. Sunday 12/7 with my girlfriend and son in the truck about to get on the freeway felt a weird shift as I got on the freeway on-ramp. As I went to accelerate I had my traction control lights come on, lost power, and flashing check engine lights limped the truck off the side of the freeway and exited to a gas station. My truck wasn’t leaking anything and oil pressure was good but it sounds like popcorn was being made in my engine when it was on. Had my truck towed to Folsom GMC and yesterday 12/8 got a call I need a new engine. Called GM corporate to talk to them and opened a claim. GMC dealership got an initial help with 15% of the bill telling me I would need to pay $13,315. Talked to the service advisor and they put in a request for help from GM. Today at 9:00 a.m. they offered 50% coverage and I was able to get a little more but it still has me paying $7,500 and it will be 2-3 weeks to get the repair done. The dealership also will be getting me a loaner vehicle. This dealership has not been great but with this they are trying and doing a lot. However 75k on a truck that does not haul or have heavy use and is 7 years old with no prior issues is crazy. I was told cylinder 8 showed a misfire. Once they opened it up there was damage to the pushrods, valves and lifters with significant metal throughout the motor. I’m still waiting for corporate GMC to get back to me and hoping they will help or offer more money off as this is still a very large bill for a single father of 2 around the holidays. I bought the truck used with about 32k on it in 2022 and have had no mechanical issues or codes related to the motor or transmission.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE 21OCT2020 IT STARTED WHINING AND JERKING. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED THEY COULDN'T SEE US, SO WE TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT GMC DEALERSHIP THAT SAID THE CODES HAD NOT BEEN UPDATED, THEY PREFORMED THE RECALL AND SAID IT SHOULD BE FINE. TWO DAYS LATER IT STARTED JERKING AGAIN AND SHUT OFF WHEN STOPPED AT A LIGHT. I TOOK IT TO THE GMC DEALERSHIP WE BOUGHT IT FROM ON THE 28OCT2020 AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRUCK WAS FINE, AND THAT THE DIAGNOSTICS SHOWED NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER. THE TECH SAID HE WOULD DRIVE IT OUT OF THE BAY, IF BRITTANY WOULD OPEN THE DOOR AND BEFORE HE COULD DRIVE IT THROUGH THE GARAGE BAY AREA AND OUT THE GARAGE BAY DOOR THE TRUCK MADE A CRAZY LOUD NOISE, JERK TO A SUDDEN STOP AND THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT, AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART AT ALL AND HAD TO BE TOWED OUT OF THE BAY DOOR. THE 2019 TRUCK HAS HAD 5 RECALLS FOR SAFETY ISSUES AND WITH 40,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION WENT ALL THE WAY OUT AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING THERE AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR OVER A MONTH WAITING ON THE NEW TRANSMISSION TO COME FROM GMC. I GO IN AND SEE THE TRANSMISSION RECALL ON SO MANY 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION WHICH THIS TRUCK HAS, AND NOW I FEEL LIKE I WAS SOLD A LEMON AND NO ONE SEEMS TO CARE. % RECALLS AND THE TRANSMISSION GOES OUT COMPLETELY AT 40,000 MILES. I AM SO UPSET ABOUT IT THAT I DO NOT EVEN WANT THE TRUCK ANYMORE. IT IS GOING TO RUIN MY RESALE VALUE AND THE LEMON LAW SHOULD APPLY ON A TRUCK ONE YEAR OLD. I HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS WITH THE DEALERSHIP, AND NOW ON THEIR FRONT DOOR IS A SIGN THAT SAYS THEY WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY POLICIES ON ANY VEHICLE THEY SOLD AFTER NOVEMBER 15, 2020. OF COURSE THEY SOLD ME ZURICH EXTENDED WARRANTY TOO, AND I CAN PROMISE I WILL NEVER BUY GMC AGAIN. I ALSO HAVE A 2017 PATHFINDER ALMOST PAID OFF, THAT I AM GIVING TO MY DAUGHTER, AND I WAS GOING TO GET AN GMC ARCADIA BUT NOT A CHANCE NOW.
