- BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARECampaign 25V442000 · 27/06/2025
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2018-2022 Transit Connect, 2019-2020 MKZ, MKX, Edge, Continental, F-150, Nautilus, Fusion, 2019-2023 Ranger, Mustang, 2020-2021 EcoSport, Expedition, Navigator, 2020-2022 Escape, F-250 SD, Corsair, 2020-2023 Aviator, Transit, 2020-2024 Explorer, 2021-2024 Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.
Risk: A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will update the rearview camera software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 4, 2025. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S72.
- POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM)Campaign 22V382000 · 27/05/2022
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Mustang vehicles equipped with 5.0L engines and manual transmissions. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may broadcast an unintended faulted signal to the modules controlling the reverse camera, reverse light, and driver assist features, which may disable all of these functions.
Risk: A rearview camera or reverse light that is disabled reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash. Disabled driver assist features (traction control, forward collision warning, blind spot warning, cross traffic indicator) may increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will update the PCM software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 15, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S37.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANELCampaign 19V076000 · 11/02/2019
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019 Ford Mustang, Lincoln Nautilus, and Lincoln Navigator vehicles. At vehicle start-up, the Instrument Panel Cluster Assembly (IPC) may not function, showing a blank display. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
Risk: A blank instrument cluster will not show important information like vehicle speed, fuel or temperature level, or safety system warnings. Driving with an inoperative cluster can increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Ford has notified owners, and dealers will reprogram the Instrument Panel Cluster Assembly (IPC), free of charge. The recall began March 8, 2019. Owners may contact customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19C03.

I have taken my vehicle to Ford. Called Ford as well. And when at a stop, and while in drive, my car will lunge/ jerk and if my car was behind a vehicle too close could hit it. I also believe that If a person were in front of the vehicle it could lunge forward into them. I see in google that many 2019 mustang owners have reports this as well. This jerk/ lunge has happened a hand full of times. Two Ford dealerships and ford.com have advised they do not have reports from consumers on this.

On 11/27/21 I was driving my 2019 mustang GT convertible with approx 15,000 miles. While going around a curve (not at an excessive speed) on dry pavement, the car became uncontrollable and began to spin out. As much as I tried to brake and steer into the slide, the car became more and more uncontrollable and felt as though it were speeding up. I only came to a stop after slamming into a tree and rolling over to the other side of the road. Vehicle is a total loss. I was lucky and only suffered minor injuries, but it very easily could have been much worse. The police and paramedics who arrived at the scene were expecting a fatality or severe injuries. In the end I was ticketed for failure to reduce speed. I'm losing my mind explaining to the police and insurance that the car sped up on its own and all control of the vehicle were lost. I am in danger of losing my license because of this and no one is believing that this could possibly happen and convinced me to state that I was probably driving too fast. This is a deadly problem. The internet is full of videos demonstrating this same problem: complete loss of control in a low speed turn. Before you ask, I wasn't racing, I wasn't drifting, I wasn't spinning my tires or doing donuts; I was just trying to go home to my kids who almost lost their father. If there is any saved data or physical evidence that needs to be saved, action is needed ASAP before the insurance company scraps it. Also, it should be noted that in the week leading up to the accident, the rear end would become loose when going around corners. I had planned to have it addressed at the next oil change.

I GOT OUT AND GOT DOWN ON MY KNEES TO CHECK AROUND MY STEERING COLUMN, UNDER MY DASH AND DRIVER SEAT BUT SAW NOTHING HOWEVER THE ODOR OF BURNING PLASTIC GOT STRONGER. I WENT AROUND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE AND DID THE SAME INSPECTION AS I DID ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. AS I WAS DOING THIS, I LOOKED UP AND SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UP UNDER MY DRIVER'S SEAT. I RAN AROUND TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE AND FIRE WAS COMING UP FROM UNDER THE SEAT AND SHOOTING UP THE BACK OF MY DRIVER'S SEAT. I GRABBED MY PURSE AND WORK BOOKLET, GRABBED MY PHONE AND DIALED 911. THE INSIDE OF MY CAR WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES IN LESS THAN 1 MINUTE. TRAFFIC STOPPED ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THE SMALL EXPLOSIONS AND FLAMES. My 2019 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 was driving fine until all of a sudden I got a check engine light on the dash. The vehicle was not as responsive as usual and was shaking a little bit at idle. I shut the car off and then had it towed to the Ford dealership for further analysis. After inspection at a dealership it was identified, that my engine had failed. Cylinder 8 would not hold compression and had cracked the engine block. This failure can cause complete engine failure and can be a risk to the driver, passengers and anyone else in traffic.

I drive a manual 6 speed mustang gt 2019 the hazard that this vehicle is presenting and have seen many others complain about with a similar isssue that can be lethal causing an accident injury or even death. The mustang is known to have a reverse lockout feature with a collar and a plastic assembly where the shifter is, but it seems as it was poorly designed or poorly assembled as the problem many mustang owners are having ;such as me is that the vehicle will go in to reverse gear without lifting up the collar or in other words without disengaging the reverse lockout so instead of going into first gear it will go into reverse same goes for the second gear. I put the clutch in and put it in first or second gear or even just slightly pushing the shifter towards me and the reverse camera will turn on that is very unsafe and dangerous I recall this being also a dangerous thing for the Shelby gt350 recall number 19B34 it’s not only a issues on those vehicles but also on the mustang 2019 Gt and other years

My name is Michelle Wright and I have purchased Ford vehicles most of my life. I love Ford vehicles and have had amazing experiences with Westlie Ford and Landmark Ford. I purchased my vehicle at Vancouver Ford, which is the most unprofessional and unethical dealership. My story starts October 2021, when I purchased a 2019 Ford Mustang from Vancouver Ford. I paid cash for the vehicle and was provided an AutoCheck, not a Carfax the day I had purchased this car. Over the last 8 months I have had several issues that made think my car was an accident but was assured it was never in an accident. After pulling the Carfax, I realized it was in a wreck and had an accident date of July 2019. This led me to look for an accident report, which was filed by a Portland Police officer on July 23, 2019.

On several occasions, the passenger door becomes unlatched while driving. Sometimes multiple times in one commute. The door doesn't fully open, but certainly allows for wind noise and "DOOR AJAR" display to go off with audible alarms. Also, the passenger window's auto/short drop feature isn't working and the window does not go back up fully, allowing water, insects, and other hazards to enter the cabin of the vehicle. It seems to be an electrical issue, as unplugging the battery with the door open as the window is rolling down automatically will TEMPORARILY fix the issue. But, as soon as the door is opened, or the window is lowered, the issue reappears.
- 09/13/2023· ENGINE
Check engine light kept coming on for a misfire after my car was shaking in idle for months. By the time check engine light came on, the code read misfire cylinder 2. Assumed at first it was spark plugs or ignition coil, so I replaced those and still was having the issue. Check engine light was still coming on and misfire was still happening. Took car to auto shop and was told I need a new engine due to coolant leaking from engine into cylinders. Took car then to Ford dealership for them to review the problem and they came up with same conclusion and even said that this is a common problem with the Ecoboost engines. This is a KNOWN problem by Ford, and they have since corrected the issue with a new and improved engine, however they expect customers to pay for their defective engine replacement. My car is at 62,000 miles. It should not need a new engine. They sold me the car new, when Ford was well aware of this common issue which can become extremely dangerous.

The dealer also diagnosed that the transmission gasket was leaking. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving 80 MPH. The contact depressed the brake pedal and the PUSH to START button simultaneously to regain normal vehicle operation. The failure persisted; however, the vehicle was not repaired. WHILE DRIVING MY GT350 ON A HIGHWAY AT AROUND 55 MPH THE ENGINE MADE METALLIC GRINDING NOISES SUDDENLY, AND WITHOUT WARNING. I INSTINCTIVELY PRESSED IN THE CLUTCH PEDAL AND THEN ENGINE STOPPED SPINNING AND LOCKED UP. I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE IN AN AREA WITH A PULL-OFF AREA AND THIN TRAFFIC. IT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS AT HIGHER SPEEDS, IN THICKER TRAFFIC, OR WITH A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER. ONCE STOPPED, I CHECKED THE CAR AND CONFIRMED THAT THE STARTER COULD NOT SPIN THE MOTOR DUE TO MECHANICAL FAILURE. THERE WERE ONLY ABOUT 450 MILES ON THE VEHICLE WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I WAS LATER TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT THE ENGINE HAD AN ISSUE WITH A ROCKER AND VALVE, WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE FAIL AND LOCK UP. A REPLACEMENT ENGINE ALSO HAD 'VALVETRAIN NOISE' AND WAS DETERMINED TO BE NO GOOD BY THE DEALER. I DID NOT SEE OR USE THE CAR WITH THAT ENGINE. Noticed vehicle was running rough on idle intermittently when sitting at a stop. I thought this was due to it being a very cold winter where I am located, but after a couple months, check engine light came on and was immediately brought in for service. Coolant was found leaking into a cylinder and I had to have head gasket as well as upper portion of engine replaced. From the research I have done there have been a lot of people with the same issue as mine and a design flaw in spacing between cylinders. Incident occurred less than 10,000 miles out of warranty and was not covered.

The 10 speed automatic transmission is not shifting properly. The car lurches and it feels/sounds like the transmission is going to fall out of the car when putting the car in drive or reverse from park. There is hesitation while shifting during acceleration. The car should downshift to a lower gear when extra power is needed. Also, the transmission shifts hard when coming to a stop and feels like undo wear and tear is being placed on the transmission. You have a recall listed for my cart but listed it as fixed. I never took the car in for service to get it fixed and I am experiencing the issue in the recall. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID:19V076000. My instrument cluster goes blank for about 5-10 seconds while driving. This has happened several times in the last few weeks. I tried to call ford and have them look into this but they will not even tell me where the recall was performed and are telling me this is customer cost item even though the exact thing the recall describes is happening to me. They would not even provide verification that the recall was performed.

My vehicle experienced a blown head gasket due to a faulty engine block design at 56K miles. The car started running rough for 10 seconds upon a cold start up and was also misfiring. This is due to coolant intrusion through the gasket and it got into cylinder 3 which could have caused catastrophic engine failure or worse. There are several class-action lawsuits against Ford for the defect.Ford has not taken any steps to address this issue with the ecoboost engines on 2015-2019 models. Additionally, Ford did NOT provide relief to me and I had to pay out of pocket to fix this.

Car was taken to FORD for diagnosis because it was running oddly and the service light kept coming on. After taking it in Ford said there was nothing wrong with it and 2 days later it blows a head gasket and comes to a screeching halrt and the motor seizes.

My door pops open while driving. You can hear it and the dash lights up that the door is ajar. Have to pull over and open and close the door. This has happened multiple times during various speeds and road conditions. Ford has recalled the door latches on the years prior but this year is not included. It has been occurring for over a year about 3 times a month.

While driving on highways, passenger door will suddenly partially unlatch and open door warning tone and advisory displays on the dash. I must pull over in order to open and reclose the door. First event was several months ago and I assumed it was an isolated event. It has increased in frequency to at least once a week. The door is closed and locked yet it comes partially unlatched and seems to only occur at highway speeds between 60mph and 75mph. Highly distracting when driving on interstate highway and I am unsure if it comes unlatched all the way since I have not had a passenger when this occurs. Poses safety hazard both as distraction and unsafe door lock.

My car has started to have problems with some of its features. Cruise control, pre collision assist, traction control, back up camera and some other features have all become unavailable.
