  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANELCampaign 24V051000 · 30/01/2024Over-the-air fix

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2012-2023 Model S, 2016-2024 Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, 2019-2024 Model Y, and 2024 Cybertruck vehicles. An incorrect font size is displayed on the instrument panel for the Brake, Park, and Antilock Brake System (ABS) warning lights. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 105, "Hydraulic and Electric Brake Systems" and 135, "Light Vehicle Brake Systems."

Risk: Warning lights with a smaller font size can make critical safety information on the instrument panel difficult to read, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla began releasing an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-003.

  • FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERACampaign 21V846000 · 29/10/2021Over-the-air fix

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Model S, Model 3, Model X, and 2020-2021 Model Y vehicles operating software version 2021.36.5.2. A communication error may cause false forward-collision warning (FCW) or unexpected activation of the automatic emergency brake (AEB) system.

Risk: Unexpected activation of the AEB system may cause the car to stop suddenly, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla Service has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. The recall began October 25, 2021. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-21-00-004.

  • BACK OVER PREVENTION:SOFTWARECampaign 21V035000 · 29/01/2021

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Tesla Model S and 2016-2018 Model X vehicles with a center display equipped with a NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and an 8GB eMMC NAND flash memory device. When the 8GB eMMC NAND flash memory device for the center display reaches lifetime wear, the eMMC controller will no longer be able to maintain the integrity of the filesystem, causing a failure in some of the center display functions.

Risk: The eMMC controller wear-out condition can cause the loss of the rearview camera display, defrost/defog control settings, and exterior turn signal lighting, reducing visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Owners should ensure their vehicles are operating firmware release 2020.48.48.12 or newer, which will alert owners if the eMMC is approaching lifetime wear. Tesla will notify owners, and will replace the VCM daughterboard with one containing an enhanced eMMC controller, free of charge. The recall began March 29, 2021. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-21-21-001.

  • SEAT BELTS:FRONT:WARNING LIGHT/DEVICESCampaign 24V376000 · 28/05/2024Over-the-air fix

In the event of an unbelted driver, the seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk: A seat belt warning system that fails to alert occupants of an unbelted seat belt can increase the risk of injury during a crash.

Fix: Tesla will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update. Owner notification letters were mailed July 26, 2024. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-008.

A factory reset muted the Pedestrian Warning System (PWS) sounds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 141, "Minimum Sound Requirements for Hybrid and Electric Vehicles."

Risk: Pedestrians may be unaware of an approaching vehicle if the PWS sounds are muted, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla released an over-the-air (OTA) software update, release 2023.44.30.14, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 27, 2024. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-24-00-006.

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2016-2022 Model S and Model X, 2017-2022 Model 3, and 2020-2022 Model Y vehicles. The "rolling stop" functionality available as part of the Full Self-Driving (Beta) software may allow the vehicle to travel through an all-way stop intersection without first coming to a stop.

Risk: Failing to stop at a stop sign can increase the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla will perform an over-the-air (OTA) software update that disables the "rolling stop" functionality, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 28, 2022. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-22-00-001.

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2014-2021 Model S vehicles. The front trunk latch assembly may be misaligned, preventing the secondary hood latch from engaging. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 113, "Hood Latch System."

Risk: If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could open unexpectedly, obstructing the driver's view and increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla Service will inspect and reposition the latch assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 18, 2022. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-21-11-003.

The rearview image may not immediately display when the vehicle begins to reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

Risk: A delayed rearview camera image reduces the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla will perform an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 17, 2022. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-22-00-004.

  • STEERING:AUTOMATED/ADAPTIVE STEERINGCampaign 23V085000 · 15/02/2023Over-the-air fix

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling certain 2016-2023 Model S, Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles equipped with Full Self-Driving Beta (FSD Beta) software or pending installation.  The FSD Beta system may allow the vehicle to act unsafe around intersections, such as traveling straight through an intersection while in a turn-only lane, entering a stop sign-controlled intersection without coming to a complete stop, or proceeding into an intersection during a steady yellow traffic signal without due caution. In addition, the system may respond insufficiently to changes in posted speed limits or not adequately account for the driver's adjustment of the vehicle's speed to exceed posted speed limits.

Risk: FSD Beta software that allows a vehicle to exceed speed limits or travel through intersections in an unlawful or unpredictable manner increases the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge.  Owner notification letters were mailed April 15, 2023.  Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752.  Tesla's number for this recall is SB-23-00-001.

  • ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:ADAS:AUTONOMOUS/SELF DRIVING:SOFTWARECampaign 23V838000 · 12/12/2023Over-the-air fix

Tesla, Inc. (Tesla) is recalling 2012-2023 Model S, 2016-2023 Model X, 2017-2023 Model 3, and 2020-2023 Model Y vehicles equipped with all versions of Autosteer leading up to the version(s) that contains the recall remedy. In certain circumstances when Autosteer is engaged, the prominence and scope of the feature's controls may not be sufficient to prevent driver misuse of the SAE Level 2 advanced driver-assistance feature.

Risk: In certain circumstances when Autosteer is engaged, and the driver does not maintain responsibility for vehicle operation and is unprepared to intervene as necessary or fails to recognize when Autosteer is canceled or not engaged, there may be an increased risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed February 10, 2024. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-23-00-008.

Risk: A loss of power steering assist can require greater steering effort, especially at low speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Tesla has released an over-the-air (OTA) software update to recalibrate the EPAS system, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 31, 2022. Owners may contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752. Tesla's number for this recall is SB-22-00-014.

  • 12/30/2022· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Component that failed is daylight running lights and is available for inspection. Daylight running lights are important to be seen easier by other vehicles and pedestrians, since they don’t work my vehicles is more difficult to be seen during the day. Confirmed by service center. Unknown if inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others, most likely not. No warning lights, no messages, no symptoms, first appeared approximately sept 2022

  • 12/28/2020· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

THE VEHICLE DOWNLOADED TESLA UPDATE ON 12/27/20202. THE FIRMWARE VERSION IS 2020.48.26. AFTER THE UPDATE WAS INSTALLED, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ABOVE THE STEERING WHEEL HAD VERY SMALL ILLEGIBLE FONT. FOR EXAMPLE, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INDICATOR LETTERS (P, D, R) WERE TOO SMALL TO READ WHICH IS CRITICAL. MPH, AND PERCENTAGE OF POWER REMAINING WERE ALSO NEAR ILLEGIBLE AS WELL.

  • 12/27/2024· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKESFire

•I’m not sure what component was responsble for either the braking issue or the fire. It is available for inspection. •When driving the brake pedal had a frightening delay that almost caused 2 accidents and unfortunately my car was charging on the 24th of October which could have something to do with arching that led to my garage catching fire rendering the car unable to move or turn on after the incident. I’ve insisted Tesla insurance to look into possible causes because the Fire dept. mandated the a LADWP (power company) to install new transformers to our power supply a couple of days after the fire, which they did. Tesla insurance seems uninterested in finding the cause and wants to compensate me for the vehicle but I believe it’s in their best interest to find a cause and document it. The car had no issues prior, in fact the service center sent a mobile tech to replace the 12volt battery on the car not even 10 months ago. After the fire the car died and has a bunch of codes that make it inoperable. • Service center rejected looking at it because of the risk. They said since it was possible salvage they could not look at it which is understandable but they worked on it before in decem •Insurance has been unwilling to look at any of this they just want pictures of the car to settle the issue. In my opinion they are ignoring a bigger problem. Tesla is my insurer. •The car had no issues prior to the fire and none during the near misses were the brake delayed.

The contact owns a 2018 Tesla Model S. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the forward collision avoidance feature was inoperable. The contact stated that due to the failure, the vehicle crashed into the guard rail. The contact stated that damage was done to the front driver's side and rear driver's side of the fender. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000. The VIN was unavailable.

  • 12/22/2021· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES

Three of four (3/4) of door handles failed simultaneously. Doors failed to open resulting in inoperable doors. Driver’s door suffered random catastrophic failure, resulting in door abruptly opening while in motion. Brought to Tesla service center and notified that parts are on back order. With no other solution. Primary safety concern is door will randomly open again during operation. Service center could not offer alternate solution to securing or operating doors. Only solution until parts are received is to access doors from inside the vehicle through the one single operable door. This is a potential entrapment and major safety issue.

  • 12/17/2023· FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

My car will randomly apply the brakes when driving on the highway for no apparent reason. I have noticed this to occur when going under overpasses especially on a bright sunny day, but also at other times. I do not find it to be predictable and it can be quite dangerous if traffic behind me is very close. This has occurred many times, most recently as yesterday.

  • 12/14/2023· SEATS

Tried to get in Tesla evening of 12-11-23. Drive car seat pulled all the way forward and to the steering wheel where the driver could not breath easily. After opening the door was able to pull the seat back and pushed to go to pre-set driver profile. The driver seat repeated the same procedure while pinning the driver to the steering wheel and making it difficult to breath. Driver was able to retrieve barely the seat back. After some research online this has happened to very few owners/drivers. For one of them this occurred while they were driving on the highway. This continue to occur on new/er models as well. Extremely dangerous maneuver that could be fatal if occurred while driving. If occur while not driving can be extremely dangerous due to the suffocating space or lack of it for the driver, therefore causing severe back, chest, or stomach injuries.

On Sunday, October 10th. I arrived at a friends home in Charleston S.C. with about 35 Miles left on the Odometer. In the AM I awoke to find only 5 miles left. As I knew that I was 21 miles away from a Tesla Supercharger I called for a tow truck, and paid $265 to get taken to the charge site. I hooked up and the car began to charge. When I was close to capacity I disconnected - and the charge dropped to zero. I called Tesla. They sent a tow truck and took me to Savannah Ga. Tesla (80 miles south....no charge). 7 weeks later - on Dec 1st...I got my Tesla back from Savannah Ga. Tesla. Immediately I got a warning "Power reduced - service required". I called and arranged for service (set up for Dec 14...two weeks away). This morning I got a similar message; 'Coolant for battery low - Service required" (see image, below)

THIS RELATES TO A TESLA WARRANTY ADJUSTMENT PROGRAM NOTICE ISSUED NOVEMBER 09, 2020. THERE IS A MALFUNCTIONING OF A MEMORY CHIP (EMBEDDED MULTIMEDIACARD WHICH CAUSES THE SCREEN TO FREEZE OR BLACKOUT OR GET FUZZY AND DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO MAKE OR SAVE CHANGES TO THE VEHICLE CONTROL TOUCH SCREEN. MY CAR WAS RESET TO FACULTY DEFAULT ON NOVEMBER 23, 2020, WITHOUT CHANGING THE CHIP, AND THE NEXT DAY IT FAILED AGAIN. I HAVE SCHEDULED A SERVICE VISIT FOR DECEMBER 02 2020 WITH THE EXPECTATION THAT THE FAULTY CHIP WILL BE REPLACED. PREVIOUSLY MY SCREEN HAD A YELLOW BORDER THAT APPEARED FROM NOWHERE AND THE TESLA SERVICE TEAM USED SOME SORT OF UV LIGHT TO REMEDY THE SITUATION IN JUNE OF 2020. AT THAT TIME THEY TOLD ME IF THE YELLOW BORDER REAPPEARS THEN THE SCREEN WILL NEED TO BE CHANGED. AT THE JUNE 2020 SERVICE VISIT THEY APPARENTLY ALSO REPLACED, AT NO CHARGE, A COMPUTER COMPONENT. THE SCREEN FAILURE I AM REPORTING TODAY BEGAN SHORTLY AFTER THE JUNE 2020 COMPONENTS WERE CHANGED, APPROXIMATELY FIRST NOTICED AUGUST 1, 2020. MY ONGOING CONCERN IS THAT THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE FULLY VETTED AND REPAIRED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD AS THESE COMPONENTS ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE. TESLA OWES ITS CUSTOMERS A DEFINITE FIX OF THE SCREEN AND THE ONBOARD COMPUTER PROBLEMS, AND AN ASSURANCE THAT THE CLOCK WILL RESTART ON ANY REPAIRS MADE UNDER WARRANTY (WHAT I AM PROPOSING IS THAT TESLA DOES A GOOD FAITH EXTENSION OF CERTAIN OF THE VEHICLE'S COMPONENTS SO THAT CUSTOMERS ARE COVERED FOR PROBLEMS NOT RELATED TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR FOR A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME). THANK YOU.

I have been complaining since I got this Tesla in late 2017, that the car brakes unexpectedly on the Freeway. Tesla claim that nothing is wrong & this will happened if the sensor received a signal like light from another car, but I was driving on the Freeway during daytime? On 10/31/21 while driving autodrive on the freeway the car suddenly skid to the right twice, around 6.50 PM & 9.05 PM. My Grandson was in the car with me and witness the incident. Luckily I was able to straighten the car without any accident. Tesla made an appointment for a mobile visit on 11/5/21, but cancelled on 11/4/21 and reschedule one month later on 12/9/21 to a Service Ctr in Walnut. This is a Safety issue and Tesla is not seriously taking care of.

There were no warning lights illuminated. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact did not sustain any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The contact stated the vehicle was diagnosed however, Tesla had not informed her of the diagnosis. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 20,000.

  • 10/30/2022· EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Tesla designs a single piece headlight with no serviceable parts. This includes headlights, high beams, and namely daytime running lights. All of these components are on an LED strip that overheats and un-solders due to this high heat, which causes premature failure. Some owners have reported as little as 3 months of life before failing. The daytime running lights are essential for safety driving in low light situations. These daytime running lights are seemingly built to fail. The lights dim then eventually no longer work. Tesla's solution is to have the customer purchase a brand new headlight at $1500. My vehicle is 4 years old and has been through 3 pairs of headlights already, when the last set burnt out I just left them as is. Tesla should either goodwill swap out these headlights for a non-built to fail component, or offer a repair for a quality LED strip with proper heat distribution. Without daytime running lights safety is a major concern on foggy, rainy, and low light situations. I have attached an image showing how the failure begins on top then slowly goes all the way down to the side of the headlight which fails later.

HERE IS A TESLA IN THE JUNKYARD HTTPS://WWW.IAAI.COM/VEHICLEDETAILS/37354819?ROWNUMBER=22 THE BACK WHEEL AND SUSPENSION HAS FALLEN TO BITS. NO CRASH DAMAGE. JUST THE SUSPENSION PARTS CRACKED AND SNAPPED. DESPITE TESLAS CLAIM THAT ONLY A SMALL NUMBER OF TESLA MODEL YEAR CARS THAT WERE EXPORTED TO CHINA NEED TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE OF BAD ROADS AND DRIVERS IN CHINA THIS PROBLEM IS AFFECTING EVERY TESLA AROUND THE WORLD. TESLA DESIGN, MANUFACTURING AND QUALITY CONTROL IS FAECAL. NHTSA HAS RECEIVED HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. WHEN WILL YOU STOP COVERING UP FOR ELON MUSK AND DEMAND A RECALL OF THESE DEADLY CARS? IT IS ABSURD FOR TESLA TO MERELY ISSUE OBSCURE TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETINS AND TO CLAIM THAT SUSPENSION FAILURES DO NOT POSE A SAFETY RISK. RECALL THESE TIME-BOMBS IMMEDIATELY. THANK YOU. KEEF

ON AT LEAST 2 OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING THE CAR, THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM STOPPED WORKING. ONE TIME, THE CAR JUST SHUT DOWN AT A STOP SIGN NEARBY MY OFFICE; THE SECOND TIME, WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, THE CAR CONTINUED TO RUN BUT ALL OF THE OTHER ELECTRONS: SPEEDOMETER, TURN SIGNALS, RADIO STOPPED WORKING. WHEN I PULLED OVER, THE ENTIRE CAR SHUT DOWN. BOTH INSTANCES REQUIRED A "HARD STOP" TO RE-START THE CAR. THE DEALER INFORMED ME THAT THIS CAN HAPPEN WHEN THE SOFTWARE HAS NOT BEEN RECENTLY UPDATED. HOWEVER, YOU NEED WI-FI TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE AND IT IS NOT READILY AVAILABLE WHERE I RESIDE AND PARK MY CAR. I CONSIDER THIS SITUATION EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN THAT THE CAR CAN SPONTANEOUSLY SHUT DOWN WHILE IN USE. I AM TAKING THE CAR INTO THE DEALER TODAY-PROBABLY SO THEY CAN UPGRADE THE SOFTWARE ON SITE. HOWEVER, THIS DOES NOT ADDRESS FUTURE POTENTIAL ISSUES WITH THE CAR. I DO NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ROUTINELY TAKE THE CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR UPGRADES. FURTHER, THERE IS NO MESSAGE FROM TESLA WHEN THE UPGRADES ARE AVAILABLE. PLEASE HELP. I REALLY HAVE NO DESIRE TO DIE WHEN THE CAR STOPS WORKING WHILE DRIVING IT!

The contact had rented a 2018 Tesla Model S. The contact stated that while his wife was making a U-turn at a low rate of speed, the vehicle accelerated with her foot on the brake pedal and crashed into a tree. The contact stated that his wife heard two warning beeps prior to the failure which the contact stated it signaled that the autopilot had independently engaged. The air bags did not deploy during the accident. The contact's wife did not suffer any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it remained in their possession. The rental company had yet to receive a diagnosis as to the cause of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

I pulled into a driveway on a one lane road (due to construction) to allow a car traveling downhill to pass so they would not have to back up. I had come to a complete stop in the driveway with the car in drive. As I started to put the car in reverse it surged forward at a high rate of speed crashing into my neighbor's garage, tearing the door completely down pushing the door into the garage and my car entering the garage at least 15 feet hitting the car that was parked inside and pushing it with such force that the front end of the vehicle struck the garage cabinets tearing them down. My air bag did not deploy nor did the automatic braking system engage, it just sped up as it was doing the damage. The car has been deemed a total loss by my insurance company but i don't want this report to go unnoticed. To my knowledge the insurance company has not inspected the computer on the vehicle. I'm not sure how they will investigate this occurrence. I feel strongly that this was a malfunction with my car. The message that showed immediately was "driver assist unavailable", I have NEVER used driver assist.

Driving the vehicle and all of a sudden all these warning lights came on. The dash flashed warning signs stating: "Power reduced - exiting and entering the vehicle may restore operation" "High voltage battery requires service - Acceleration and charging performance reduced" and a turtle sign appeared. The vehicle was almost inoperable moving at 1-2 mph. Pulled into a parking lot, parked the car, and exited the vehicle. After reentering the vehicle the error continued. Had the vehicle towed to the Tesla service center. It is currently being diagnosed. An online search showed many Tesla forums with similar issues and there were suggestions to report the incident because there no consistent resolution that has been provided by Tesla thus far - issues range from 2020 - 2023.

THIS IS A COMPLAINT ABOUT TESLA BROKEN SUSPENSIONS. HERE IS THE LATEST EXAMPLE... [XXX] PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE USED THE VIN OF ANOTHER TESLA IN THE JUNKYARD WHICH "QUELLE SURPRISE" ALSO HAS A WHOMPY WHEEL. IT SEEMS STRANGE THAT TESLA WOULD PREFER TO DENY THAT THERE IS A WEAKNESS IN THE SUSPENSION COMPONENTS RATHER THAN ADMITTING IT AND FIXING THE PROBLEM. TO ANYONE THAT HAS BEEN FOLLOWING THE ANTICS OF ELON MUSK RECENTLY IT COMES AS NO SURPRISE. IT SEEMS UNLIKELY THAT THE OWNER WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT SINCE HE HAS BEEN INFORMED THAT HE IS DRIVING THE SAFEST CAR IN THE WORLD! THESE TESLA SUSPENSION BREAKAGES HAVE BEEN HAPPENING OVER AND OVER FOR MANY YEARS. YOUR OWN DATABASE HAS HUNDREDS OF VALID REPORTS CONCERNING THIS. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU LAUNCH AN INVESTIGATION. THANK YOU. ENRAGED CITIZEN. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TT

The contact owns a 2018 Tesla Model S. The contact stated while pulling into a parking space, the vehicle accelerated at high speeds without any warning, causing the vehicle to run through a construction site and collide with a building. The air bags were deployed, and the passenger in the vehicle was injured and sought medical attention. The contact was unsure if a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

THIS A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TESLA SUSPENSION FORELINKS WHICH ARE STILL SNAPPING OFF AND CAUSING DANGER TO THE PUBLIC. AT LEAST THREE NEW CASES OF FAILURE HAVE BEEN REPORTED WITHIN THE LAST FEW WEEKS. DESPITE FORUM POSTERS URGING THE OWNERS TO REPORT THEIR FAILURES TO NHTSA THE OWNERS HAVE NOT DONE SO. PRESSURE FROM TESLA SUPPORTERS TO "SUPPORT THE MISSION" AND FINANCIAL SELF-INTEREST MEAN THAT THESE FAILURES ARE BEING UNDER-REPORTED. HERE IS A DISCUSSION FORUM ABOUT THIS :HTTPS://TESLAMOTORSCLUB.COM/TMC/THREADS/ANOTHER-FRONT-SUSPENSION-CONTROL-ARM-FAILURE.114967/PAGE-7#POST-4035913 **SNIP** I BELIEVE I'VE JOINED THE "CLUB", TOO. 2017 TESLA S 75D WITH <13,500 MILES IS IN THE SHOP NOW AFTER HAVING IT TOWED LAST NIGHT. THE SERVICE REP LET ME KNOW THAT WHILE THEY'RE NOT DONE INSPECTING IT - THEY'VE DETERMINED IT'S "FULLY COVERED UNDER WARRANTY". MY STORY IS SIMILAR TO MOST. ON WAY HOME FROM WORK YESTERDAY, MY CAR STARTED MAKING STRANGE NOISES AT LOW SPEEDS, UPHILL AND/OR AROUND THESE "ISLANDS" SEATTLE HAS AT CROSS STREETS IN NEIGHBORHOODS TO SLOW TRAFFIC. I GOT HOME, MADE AN ONLINE SERVICE CENTER APPT FOR NEXT WEEK. WENT OUT AGAIN AND THEN THE "CATASTROPHIC" FAILURE BEGAN. I HAD TO DRIVE A BIT (GUESSING A HALF MILE) BEFORE I COULD FIND A SAFE SPOT AND ONE BIG ENOUGH TO PULL OVER. TIRE IS GOUGED HORRIBLY. METAL SHOWING THROUGH WHEEL WELL, CAR APPEARED TO BE SITTING ON WHEEL, BUT HARD TO SEE CLEARLY. FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS THIS IS DUE TO "ROUGH" DRIVING - I POLITELY SUGGEST YOU STFU. I BABY MY CAR. ** PLEASE TAKE ACTION. NOTE: VIN OF RANDOM TESLA IN WRECKING YARD USED IN THIS REPORT

YOU CAN SEE PERFECTLY CLEARLY IN THE PHOTOGRAPHS THAT THIS IS A SELF-INFLICTED INJURY CAUSED BY SNAPPED SUSPENSION LINKS. USING EXTRUDED ALUMINIUM AND LOW QUALITY CAST PARTS IS A RECIPE FOR DISASTER. TESLA HAS A CULTURE OF COVER-UP. EMPLOYEES ARE INDOCTRINATED TO DEFEND THE MISSION. THEY ARE UNDER ILLEGAL ELECTRONIC SURVEILLANCE AND DO NOT DARE TO BLOW THE WHISTLE. LIVES ARE AT STAKE. On August 4th, 2022, I got in my car to continue north...and got a "can't drive not enough power" report on the dash. The car is still (as of today, 9/10/2022)in North Carolina ( at the Matthews-Charlotte Tesla service center, 9140 East Independence Blvd, Charlotte-Matthews, N.C.). Tow/hauler also took toll lanes to bring car to service. I received $20 in toll charges while I wasn't in the car for that day. This happened once before to this vehicle (in Charleston, S.C. serviced in Savannah, Ga 10/11/21 to 12/01/21), and twice before to a formerly owned Tesla. Battery died unexpectedly, suddenly (but while parked). I am still renting a gas car (being charged by Enterprise, weekly at over $500 a week) and I'm not happy with the car (engine light on twice RA # 766VYT) unit #7TBJHP ). Not comfortable driving with rental. Help, please?

  • 09/02/2022· EXTERIOR LIGHTING

The daytime running lights on both front headlights have stopped working with 45k on the odometer. Tesla service center has refused to cover the safety issue because the car warranty is 5k over warranty mileage. The vehicle no longer has working day time running lights. After doing some research this is a common problem with 2016 to 2020 model s and x and Tesla motor company is refusing to repair the DRL lights.

  • 08/26/2023· WHEELS

The car does not come with a spare. I got a flat tire and Tesla will not provide a spare or a tow for free, they charge a fee for both. This has created a safety issue that can be life threatening due to their lack of a spare tire and not towing the car.

The contact owns a 2018 Tesla Model S. The contact stated that while washing the vehicle, there was orange rust coming out of the bumper. The failure mileage was approximately 19,374.

I own Tesla model S 2018. Last week in Florida there was a storm near the place where I live, (Tampa). I happen to drive in the flooded road only to realize that Tesla has a known manufacturing defect, which multiple customers have posted on the Internet about, related to seal in the trunk, which basically causes the flood water to enter into the trunk, I noticed that a lot of model S Tesla users are going through this issue but Tesla has failed to recall the car and provide a fix. Tesla is demanding that the customers pay for this fix, for cars which are out of warranty even though this is a quality/manufacturing issue. I Urge you to take action and provide a solution.

HERE IS A TESLA IN THE JUNKYARD HTTPS://WWW.IAAI.COM/VEHICLEDETAILS/36845198?ROWNUMBER=5 THE ONLY DAMAGE IS TO THE FRONT LH SIDE. THE STEEL BUMPER ATTACHMENT BAR IS UNDAMAGED WHICH SUGGESTS THAT THE DAMAGE WAS NOT THE RESULT OF A FRONTAL IMPACT. REGARDLESS OF THE CAUSE OF THE DAMAGE THE FACT IS THAT ONCE AGAIN THE CAST MONKEY-METAL STEERING KNUCKLE HAS FRACTURED IN HALF. THE CAR ALSO DOES APPEAR TO BE BOTTOMED OUT ON ITS AIR SUSPENSION. TESLAS DO NOT HAVE ANY LIMIT STOPS ON THE SUSPENSION. IT IS QUITE PROBABLE THAT THE MCU FAILURES THAT ARE UNDER NHTSA INVESTIGATION ARE CONTRIBUTING TO THE PROBLEM. HERE IS A THREAD IN WHICH ANOTHER OWNER REPORTS A FRACTURED STEERING KNUCKLE BUT THE ABSURDLY LOW SUSPENSION HEIGHT IS BLAMED ON A THIRD PARTY LOWERING KIT. (CAR WAS A RECENTLY PURCHASED CPO FROM TESLA) HTTPS://TESLAMOTORSCLUB.COM/TMC/THREADS/FRONT-DRIVERS-STEERING-KNUCKLE-FRACTURED-WHILE-DRIVING-AT-55MPH-VIDEO.199103/ SNIP ** I HAVEN'T HEARD OF THIS BEFORE, AND IT DOESN'T SEEM COMMON. I'M ASSUMING A CASTING DEFECT CAUSED A CRACK THAT PROPAGATED INTO A COMPLETE FRACTURE. LUCKILY MY DASHCAM SHOWS THAT THIS WASN'T CAUSED BY HITTING ANYTHING, AS I'M SURE THAT'S THE LIKELY REASON SC WOULD GIVE FOR A CASTING TO FRACTURE LIKE THAT. 35K MI, 2016 P90D ** TESLA HAS REDESIGNED THIS KNUCKLE AT LEAST 3 TIMES. THE OLDER VERSIONS HAVE NOT BEEN RECALLED. EVEN THE NEW VERSIONS ARE STILL SNAPPING. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO. SO PLEASE DO IT.
