  • 12/31/2021· POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

All warning indicator lights came on and I took car to a Certified Auto Mechanic who said it was caused by the fuel pump problems surrounding Honda cars. Said it affected the fuel injectors (mis-fire) and I should take it to Honda dealer for fix. Honda dealer said this VIN of my 2018 Honda is not on the recall. I asked about being covered by the 5 year power train warranty and was told that this did not fall under that warranty. The auto mechanic said he would have to charge around $2000 to replace the fuel injector (1), but the others would probably go bad unless everything (Pump and injectors) were replaced. There over 500 complaints with NHTSA on this year model and over 200 of those are similar problems that match prior recalls for same model and year but different vin numbers. The reports from Honda to NHTSA regarding selected "recall" units does not prevent other problems identified due to Indian defective parts surrounding the fuel pump problems. If I read all the details correctly only hundreds of just 10,000 recalls have been completed. Why would Honda/NHTSA not want to include the few other hundred that may be present to prevent accidents and uphold the Honda reputation of quality?

  • 12/30/2023· ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Car would shake in the morning would wait till warmed. Immediately brought to Honda where I had a diagnostic completed approx. 9/3. Reports says head gasket. Car well taking care (maintenance) no reason for blown head gasket. Got a second opinion They had the car for a week. No warning lights, and did another diagnostic and nothing showed at the time. Brought the car home. After a few months waiting for warning sign or other signs it took a couple of few months for the engine light to come on and it slowed down and came to a stop. Had car towed to Honda. Called Honda corporate. After finding out they weren't going to cover the cost of $5000+ knowing this has absolutely nothing to do with the customer being negligent with car. I can not afford that kind of money and had it towed to the same mechanic where we are still waiting for the parts to come in from Honda factory and it's been in his possession for 2 weeks. I had to get a rental which Honda would not cover. There is no way that a car that is 5years old under 80,000 miles should have engine work unless it was not cared for properly. I have proof of continuous maintenance. I should not be held reliable for malfunction parts on the car and other Hondas are having the same issues. It was very dangerous and scary having the car shake when driving and not being abled to accelerate on the gas with no warning of any. I had it towed 2x to 3x waiting and praying that Honda will be responsible.

  • 12/30/2022· FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

All of my safety features in my car when it comes to driving down the road have completely failed. Adaptive cruise control lane assist brake system errors. The car just stops in the middle of the road. And it will pull the car the car to the left or right thinking that there’s something in the road and there’s not it’s very dangerous.

  • 12/30/2018· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES

THE CAR HAS A SENSOR FOR BREAKING. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND THE CAR BREAKING SYSTEM COMES ON MAKING THE VEHICLE COME TO A SUDDEN STOP. DURING SEVERAL OF THESE DANGEROUS BREAKING EVENTS NO VEHICLES OR OBJECTS WERE IN FRONT OF ME. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN RARE ENDED BECAUSE OF THE BREAKING. I HAVE NOTICED THAT EVEN S SHADOW FROM A TREE CAN TRIGGER THE SENSOR TO MAKE THE BREAKING SYSTEM TURN ON MAKING THE CAR COME TO A SUDDEN STOP. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TURN THIS FEATURE COMPLETELY OFF. WHEN YOU TURN IT OFF IT RESETS ONCE YOU TURN THE IGNITION TO START THE CAR AGAIN. THIS RECALL NEEDS TO HAPPEN NOW BEFORE SOMEONE GETS INJURED OR KILLED.

  • 12/29/2025· FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

Upwards of a dozen times my Honda Accord will suddenly brake as it believes I am about to have a collision whereas it is typically a shadow. This happens when going under bridges or overpasses, or depending on the glare from the sun. This has happened several times on the highway causing multiple near collisions at high speeds. This is extremely dangerous and requires an adjustment or recall. I have had this part stolen and replaced through a Honda approved repair shop yet the issue persists.

  • 12/29/2021· VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

Vehicle suddenly stopped turning over, replaced battery incase it wasn’t enough. Vehicle had a little under a quarter tank of gas so added another gallon or two and that brought it up to 1/2 a tank. Vehicle turned on once rough then smoothed out and then shut off in the road 10 minutes later. There are recalls for this exact problem with other Honda Accords my year but my vin did not qualify in the listing.Car belongs to grandmother Diana evans my name is Quinten and I am currently using my friends phone because mine is broken and she has been helping me with the vehicle.

MY CAR HAS CRACKS IN THE WINDSHIELD LOCATED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE FROM BOTH SIDES ON THE WIPER BLADES TRAILS. IT HAS NOT BEEN HIT BY A ROCK. I NOTICED IT ON TWO DIFFERENT OCCASIONS WHEN I WAS USING THE WIPERS ON RAINY DAYS. I WAS TOLD BY THE GLASS REPAIR SHOPS THAT IT WAS CAUSED DUE TO THE HEATED WIPERS WHILE IT WAS COLD OUTSIDE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AND WHILE DRIVING IN THE RAIN TO WORK THE CRACKS APPEARED TO TRAVEL LONGER ON THE WINDSHIELD.

  • 12/29/2017· SERVICE BRAKES

BOUGHT VEHICLE NOV 22,2017. THE FOLLOWING WEEK WHEN COMMUTING HOME FROM WORK A LIGHT CAME ON WHILE USING DRIVER ASSIST SHOWING COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. SEE YOUR DEALER. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND REPORTED THE PROBLEM. THE SHOP FOREMAN SAID TO TAKE A PHOTO IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN. THE FOLLOWING WEEK IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN THE COMMUTE HOME WHILE USING DRIVER ASSIST SHOWING THE SAME MESSAGE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER THE 2ND TIME AND THEY KEPT IT A FEW DAYS SO THE FOREMAN COULD REPLICATE THE ISSUE. HE COULDN'T REPLICATE IT AND TOLD US TO TAKE IT BACK AND TAKE A PHOTO AND RECORD IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. HE ALSO THOUGHT OUR COMMUTER TRANSPONDER MIGHT BE INTERFERING WITH THE HONDA COMPUTER TECHNOLOGY. THE 3RD TIME ON THE COMMUTE HOME WAS A SCARY SITUATION WHEN NOT ONLY THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON, THE BRAKES ENGAGED AT APPROX. 55 MPH AND WE THOUGHT SOMEONE REAR ENDED US IN THE FAST LANE ON THE FREEWAY. THANKFUL NO ONE HIT US OR US HITTING THEM. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER OVER 2 WEEKS AGO AND AND THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE IT ONCE AGAIN. NOW THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DUE TO THE FACT THE BRAKES ANGAGED ON THE FREEWAY AT 55 MPH. WE REFUSE TO DRIVE IT. THE DEALER CALLED US TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE THEY INSTALLED A RECORDING DEVICE WHEN IT HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS DIDN'T MAKE SENSE TO US TO SUBJECT ANYONE TO A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. WE UNDERSTAND THEY ARE TRYING TO REPLICATE IT BUT SOMEONE COULD BE HURT OR KILLED. WE ARE IN LIMBO AND ARE VERY DISAPPOINTED.

  • 12/28/2025· UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I have a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5 The issue started after getting my fuel pump replaced as part of the recall. While driving, all of the dashboard lights came on. Warning messages kept flashing on the dash. This car was driving perfectly fine before the fuel pump was replaced. When the codes are cleared, the car drives perfectly fine. The dashboard lights will periodically turn off but ultimately come back on and as a result, the car goes into limp mode. Coils, sparkplugs, breakers have been switched out and oil levels have been checked. When the car is scanned, the codes are reading a misfire with the coils but, the coils that are allegedly misfiring were JUST replaced. The car jerks while attempting to accelerate, and after a few miles, it goes into limp mode. I have tried every type of repair that has been suggested to me by the mechanic but the issues persist.

  • 12/28/2025· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

As I was driving myself and child on the interstate 65 mph the vehicle all of a sudden dropped speed and would not accelerate. I drifted the car off the interstate off ramp and pulled into a store parking lot. Luckily, we did not cause an accident or hit anything or anyone. All the lights on car's dashboard blinking some examples are EPS, VSA, Malfunction lamp, Breaking system, check engine light, etc. My car did not show that it was running hot, was not smoking, however would not accelerate. The car had a slight rattle, running bad, shaking slightly; all in all, not working appropriately. No earlier indication that something was wrong just came all of a sudden, no warning at all. Car was brought to Billy Navarre in Lake Charles, LA, where they concluded that head gasket was blown. I had to come out of pocket to fix the head gasket and all of the other problems that it caused. Car milage 84,097, bought brand new in 2018. This is a major safety issue for the public! Multiple people have this same problem. I have documentation on all the work the dealership completed. And I have filed a report to Honda.

  • 12/28/2019· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES

HERE IS A DESCRIPTION OF THE SAFETY ISSUES THIS CAR CONTINUES TO HAVE THAT THE MANUFACTURER AND TWO DEALERS WILL NOT FIX UNDER THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTEE BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE AND THERE ARE NO STORED ERROR CODES. THIS CAR HAS A LANE DEPARTURE MITIGATION (LDM) SYSTEM THAT HAS FALSELY ACTIVATED MANY TIMES WHILE THE CAR IS CENTERED ON THE DRIVING LANE. THE LDM ACTIVATES BY PROVIDING A WARNING ON THE DASHBOARD AND BY MOVING THE STEERING WHEEL QUICKLY TO THE LEFT AND TO THE RIGHT WHICH DISTRACTS THE DRIVER (A SAFETY ISSUE) AND ONCE CAUSED ME TO ALMOST STEER THE CAR INTO A SEMI ON MY RIGHT BY COMPENSATING FOR THE LEFT STEERING WHEEL MOVEMENT. THIS CAR ALSO HAS A LANE KEEP ASSIST SYSTEM (LKAS) WHICH REPEATEDLY HAS STEERED THE CAR OFF THE ROAD. BOTH THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN RECORDED AND PROVIDED TO AHM AND BOTH DEALERS. THESE ISSUES HAPPEN RANDOMLY ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. ADDITIONALLY, THIS CAR HAS ISSUES WITH RANDOMLY DISPLAYING AN INCORRECT SPEED LIMIT ON THE DASHBOARD (100 MPH IN A 60 MPH ZONE), FALSELY WARNING "STEERING IS REQUIRED" ON THE DASHBOARD, A "SHIFT TO PARK" WARNING WHILE REPOSITIONING THE CAR AND THE ENGINE IS ON, AND THE BRAKE ASSIST/ANTI-COLLISION FALSELY ACTIVATING WHEN NOTHING IS DIRECTLY IN THE PATH OF THE CAR. ALL OF THESE HAPPEN WHILE THE CAR IS OPERATING ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS.

Hi, to whom it may concern my dashboard lights have been on for months now and I’ve taken it to the dealership I purchased my car from and it comes back that it’s the turbo that needs replacing. The pricing of that is ridiculous and I’m currently not the ONLY one with this issue ! It’s an ALL AROUND THE WORLD thing! I’m not sure about anybody else but I don’t have that type of money plus while paying other important bills ! There should be a recall against the turbo replacement as well! And just what if I was to get the turbo replacement and then the lights come back on, because I’ve seen multiple people saying the replacement didn’t help with the lights and still have gotten other things done and the lights only off for a couple days ! Indeed of answers because this is ridiculous!

  • 12/27/2025· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

In 2023, the car had a rough start during cold weather. Honda confirmed there was a service bulletin and told me my fuel injectors were likely failing. It’s a known issue. For 2 winters, I used Sea Foam to manage the problem. This winter, the dash completely lit up. I returned to Honda for an update to new version of the same service bulletin. They did the fix but it did not solve the problem. Tonight my car went into limp home mode and had to be towed to the mechanic for the fuel injector repair. We were on NC Interstate 540 when the car rapidly lost acceleration and luckily made it to a gas station for safe pick up. Me, my passenger and other drivers were all endangered the 3 times I had to pull over to stop and restart the car.

We were notified by carfax a couple of weeks ago that my 2018 accord had a recall on the fuel pump. I called my Honda dealership and they told me there was no recall. Then yesterday the nhtsa and the manufacturer updated their sites to confirm there actually was a recall. I called Honda today and the rep told me that there is no remedy yet and the nhtsa website states there's an increased risk of crash and injury. What is the allotted time the manufacturer is given to remedy this problem? Because now I'm not going to drive my car because I don't wanna die and leave my wife and kids behind.

THE HOOD ON THE 2018 HONDA ACCORD VIBRATES AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (NOT A LITTLE, BUT SIGNIFICANTLY). TWO SEPARATE BODY SPECIALISTS TRIED TO MAKE ADJUSTMENT WHICH RESULTED IN SLIGHTLY BETTER FIT, BUT STILL, THE HOOD VIBRATES (AGAIN, NOT A LITTLE, BUT AN UNSETTLING AMOUNT) AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HONDA ALREADY HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE PILOT MODEL'S HOOD: HTTPS://HONDA.OEMDTC.COM /711/HOOD-FLUTTER-OR-VIBRATION-AT-HIGHWAY-SPEEDS-2016-2019-HONDA-PILOT-2017-2019-RIDGELINE AND NOW, 2018+ OWNERS ARE STARTING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE HOOD STABILITY AT HIGHER SPEEDS AS WELL. WHEN I HAD INITIALLY RAISED THE ISSUE WITH AMERICAN HONDA, THEY IGNORED IT (AND, AS THEY ALWAYS DO, TOLD ME TO GO TO THE DEALER). SINCE THEN, HONDA HAS DONE NOTHING TO TRULY ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. AN INVESTIGATION (AND A POSSIBLE RECALL) SHOULD BE INITIATED.

  • 12/26/2020· POWER TRAIN

2018 HONDA ACCORD WITH 10 SPEED AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCED A VERY VIOLENT UPSHIFT AT LOW SPEEDS (TAKING OFF FROM THE PARKING LOT). THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND, OF COURSE, A DEALER WAS NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AS THEY ONLY DRIVE THE VEHICLE FOR, MAYBE, AN HOUR, WHILE THE ISSUE OCCURS EVERY SO MANY HUNDREDS OF MILES (CAN'T QUITE PIN DOWN THE EXACT INTERVAL).

  • 12/26/2020· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

  • 12/26/2020· SERVICE BRAKES

THE 2018 ACCORDS HAVE A SYSTEM CALLED "BRAKE HOLD" WHICH IS INTENDED TO ENGAGE THE BRAKING SYSTEM WHILE A VEHICLE IS STOPPED AT, SAY, A STOP-LIGHT. THE INTENT SEEMS TO BE TO ALLOW THE DRIVER TO HAVE THEIR FOOT ON THE GAS, INSTEAD OF THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM FREQUENTLY HAS AN ISSUE WHERE IT ALLOWS THE VEHICLE TO CREEP. THIS, GENERALLY, SEEMS TO HAPPEN IN COLDER TEMPERATURES. ANOTHER, PATTERN OF BEHAVIOR IS WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO A SLOW ROLL, THEN STOPPED (USING THE BRAKE PEDAL) AND AS SOON AS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASE, THE BRAKE HOLD SYSTEM FAILS TO HOLD THE VEHICLE IN THE STOPPED POSITION. AFTER A SIGNIFICANT DELAY, THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS ENGAGED, BUT THE VEHICLES HAD, AT THAT POINT, LURCHED FORWARD SEVERAL INCHES, IF NOT OVER A FOOT. THIS INDICATES (JUST AS WITH THE COLLISION MITIGATION SYSTEM DELAYS, DISCUSSED IN OTHER COMPLAINTS) THAT THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT ISSUE WITH THE TIMING OF THE CONTROL SYSTEM UTILIZED IN THE BRAKE HOLD, THE SENSOR(S) OR BOTH, WHERE THE SYSTEM FAILS TO DETECT THE CONDITIONS IN REAL TIME AND REACTS IN A DELAYED MANNER. AGAIN, AS WITH OTHER ISSUES ON THE LATER HONDA MODELS, HONDA HAS FAILED TO PERFORM COMPREHENSIVE TROUBLESHOOTING OF THE ISSUE (EVEN AFTER ME TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AS INDICATED BY HONDA. THIS IS A COMPLAINT FOR A SEPARATELY OCCURRING INSTANCE.

  • 12/26/2020· UNKNOWN OR OTHER

THIS IS A COMPLAINT FOR A UNIQUE OCCURRENCE OF THIS PROBLEM ON THIS DATE. IN SOME INSTANCES, IT SEEMS THAT THE VENTILATION SYSTEM IS POTENTIALLY PULLING NOXIOUS FUMES IN FROM THE ENGINE BAY AND IN OTHERS, THERE SEEMS TO BE AN ISSUE WITH MOISTURE RETENTION WHEN AC IS RUN. THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO FORCE FOUL SMELLING AIR IN TO THE CAB. HONDA HAS FAILED TO PROPERLY TROUBLESHOOT THE ISSUE (I.E. RETAIN THE VEHICLE FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS AND TRY TO UNDERSTAND IF THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE VENTILATION SYSTEM OR SOMETHING ELSE).

THE VEHICLE'S SAFETY SYSTEM (NOT SURE IF IT'S THE CAMERA MOUNTED BEHIND THE WINDSHIELD OR SOMETHING ELSE) WILL PERIODICALLY INTERPRET A ROAD SPEED SIGN AS SHOWING 100MPH SPEED LIMIT. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE AND WILL HAVE HAPPENED AGAIN (I AM FILING THIS COMPLAINT AFTER SOME TIME HAS PASSED). AS WITH A NUMBER OF OTHER ISSUE WITH THE 2018+ HONDA MODELS, HONDA'S RESPONSE HAS BEEN "TAKE IT TO THE DEALER" WHILE THE DEALER'S MECHANIC DRIVES THE CAR FOR AN HOUR, DOES NOT SEE THE ISSUE AND THEN CLAIMS THAT NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. A FEW MONTHS AFTER BUYING THE 2018 ACCORD, HONDA HAD TO PUT A SOFTWARE UPDATE, WHICH THEY CLAIMED WAS GOING TO ADDRESS AND ISSUE WITH THE BACK-UP CAMERA (WHICH ALWAYS SEEMED TO WORK FINE, AT LEAST ON MY CAR). SHORTLY AFTER THE UPDATE, THE INFOTAINMENT UNIT HAD STARTED TO RANDOMLY (AND RATHER FREQUENTLY) RESET ITSELF EVERY FEW DAY. HONDA (AFTER SOME TRIPS TO THE DEALER AND SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO REACH OUT TO THE HONDA OF AMERICA HQ) HAD FAILED TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE ISSUE AND, EVENTUALLY, BEGRUDGINGLY HAD ADMITTED TO THE PROBLEM; HOWEVER, THEY HAD FAILED TO PRODUCE A FIX FOR MONTHS. MY VEHICLE STILL DOES NOT HAVE A FIX APPLIED AND KEEPS HAVING RESETS. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH A 2018 HONDA ODYSSEY (WHICH USES THE SAME SYSTEM), WHO FINALLY GAVE UP AND GOT RID OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO THE NUMBER OF RECALLS (AND, TO SOME EXTENT, VERY POOR HANDLING OF THE ISSUES BY HONDA DEALER(S) AND HONDA), BUT THEY HAD TO HAVE THEIR UNIT PHYSICALLY REPLACED. SUPPOSEDLY, THERE NOW A RECALL, BUT YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER (SURPRISE, NOT). AS IT STANDS, HONDA MAY HAVE USED A PIECE OF HW WHICH HAS A BUILT-IN FAILURE (THIS COULD BE MORE INSIDIOUS THAN JUST A SW FIX) AND IS REFUSING TO ADDRESS IT IN HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VEHICLES. WHY CAN'T THIS BE DONE VIA A 'SIMPLE' SW UPDATE THE WAY 21ST CENTURY CAR-MAKERS DO? OR IS HONDA SIMPLY HIDING AN INEVITABLE FAILURE VIA SW UPDATE? ON THE NOTED DATE, THIS WAS YET ANOTHER RESET OF THE UNIT. THE VEHICLE NOW HAS ABOUT 27,500 MILES, BUT HAS EXHIBITED THIS BEHAVIOR FOR THOUSANDS OF MILES/OVER A YEAR.
