Recalls (1)

  • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMPCampaign 18V358000 · 31/05/2018

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2018 GMC Canyon, 2016-2017 Buick Envision, 2016-2018 Chevrolet Colorado and Malibu, 2017-2018 GMC Acadia, 2018 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac ATS, Chevrolet Equinox, and GMC Terrain vehicles. The high pressure fuel pump may detach from its mounting flange, possibly resulting in the pump damaging the high pressure fuel line.

Risk: A damaged fuel line can create a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.

Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the high pressure fuel pump, and high pressure fuel pipe, free of charge. The recall began July 2, 2018. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 18188.

  • 12/28/2024· VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES

The Stibilitrack in the truck went out just after 20 minutes of driving in 34 degree rainy weather at 65 mph. Found out that it was the passenger front bearing reluctor had chipped away, which is what the wheel speed sensor reads. Once one those go out, you lose Stibilitrack and ABS. I believe that this is a significant safety issue, and a poorly engineered/designed system. The rear system reads gear which is what should be in the front should have as well, not a "magnetic ring". This should be fixed so that noone gets injured or killed. It's also a waste of consumer money that you have to change out an entire wheel bearing hub assembly to fix the issue. Shame on the company. In the photos, notice that half the black ring (the reluctor) is missing.

  • 12/28/2022· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

A/c lines near driver side wheel well has chafed through fuel line and wire harness.Causing a couple thousand dollars in damage.Nor warning indicators leading up to either incidents. My chevy dealership mis diagnosed it twice and has now found the issue. Fuel lines leak can cause fires and as far as the electrical issue I've been left stranded with my 3 year old daughter a couple of times..Have looked up forums and many people have had the same issue.

  • 12/12/2019· ENGINEFire

A FAULTY ENGINE BLOCK HEATER CAUSED THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO CATCH FIRE WHILE THE TRUCK WAS PARKED, TURNED OFF AND THE FACTORY INSTALLED ENGINE BLOCK HEATER WAS PLUGGED IN.

  • 12/08/2023· STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING

He wiring harness to the 4wd kept coming on which wouldn’t allow me to ingage. Mountain Chevy citified mechanic found a chafing on the wiring harness. After filing it my truck started to light up like a Christmas tree, Stability service, trailer brake service, Locker service, Power streering service and they done turn off. Which is caused by more chafing wires that are to close to components of the engine bay getting to hot. Now my power steering turns off and when driving the truck it kicks on and make me loose control of the vehicle. Big diffect on Chevys manufacturing this vehicle. I’m not able to drive it and now they keep telling me that they don’t have the part or can’t find it.

  • 12/06/2024· VISIBILITY

  • 12/06/2021· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Electrical problems with Chevrolet Mylink display. A variety of errors include backup camera flashing on at highway speeds, hands free phone calls put on hold, navigation screen flashing random inaccurate destinations. These distractions impair safe operation of the vehicle. Dealer verified issues but could not perform diagnostics on a timely basis. Issues continue.

  • 12/05/2020· POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE

ABOUT A YEAR AGO, I STARTED GETTING A SLIGHT SHUDDER IN MY TRANSMISSION SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO SHUDDER. SEVERAL TIMES I'LL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT OR AROUND 45MPH AND THE TRUCK WILL START SHUDDERING SO BAD I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. EVERY TIME I TAKE IT TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR I END UP LOSING MY TRUCK FOR A DAY AND THEY TELL ME THEY CAN FIND ANYTHING WRONG EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND THERE IS A TSB OUT TO FIX THE ISSUE.

  • 12/04/2022· POWER TRAIN

My 2018 Colorado Z71 (40,000 miles) suffers from transmission shudder intermittently. Dealer took it for a 14 mile test drive and was unable to duplicate. Blamed it on the tires. Refused to flush transmission fluid in accordance with GM TSB 18-NA-355. Shudder becomes worse when trailering boat. Known issue to GM, however, dealers refuse to perform the solution provided by GM in the absence of a recall.

  • 12/01/2024· EXTERIOR LIGHTING

Rear back up camera at night is extremely bright and blinding to driver. Makes it useless at night and dangerous. There's no way to lower brightness setting for night time back up moves. I've seen many complaints on this. We owners shouldn't have to pay to have this fix.

  • 11/29/2018· STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

BRAND NEW 2018 MIDNIGHT EDITION CHEVY COLORADO LESS THAN 24HRS ON THE ENGINE AND HAD LESS THAN 900 MILES ON IT. WENT TO GO TO WORK ONE MORNING AND IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING. NO REVERE. NO POWER STEERING. ALL LIGHTS AND GAUGES WERE FLICKERING AND GOING CRAZY. ENGINE WAS CHUGGING AND MAKING ODD NOISES.IT WOULD NOT MOVE FROM MY GARAGE/DRIVEWAY. HAD IT TOWED IT TO NEAREST DEALERSHIP. OVER 2 WEEKS OF DIAGNOSTICS IT'S EITHER A STEERING MODULE OR A WIRING HARNESS PART. DEALERSHIP TELLS US ITS FAULTY WIRING/STEERING MODULE. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE AND IT'S HARD TO DIAGNOSE. I REALLY FEEL THAT THIS COULD CAUSE MANY SAFETY ISSUES SINCE POWER STEERING WAS COMPLETELY OUT AND IT WANTED TO SHUT OFF ON US. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN BAD IF IT HAPPENED WHILE WE WERE DRIVING IT TO WORK. THE DEALERSHIP WE PURCHASED IT FROM HAD DONE SOME ELECTRICAL WORK BUT DID NOT DISCLOSE WHAT WAS DONE UNTIL IT QUIT WORKING AND WAS BROUGHT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP. THEY BROUGHT IT TO OUR ATTENTION WHEN IT WAS TOWED IN. THE WIRING THAT WAS DONE BEFORE PURCHASE IS WHAT'S CAUSING ALL ISSUES ELECTRONICALLY. TRUCK IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP WAITING FOR A PART THAT IS ON BACKORDER. WAITING FOR PAPERWORK AFTER REPAIRS ARE COMPLETED. IF THEY CAN BE COMPLETED. THEY'RE STILL TRYING TO FULLY UNDERSTAND THE ELECTRICAL ISSUES SINCE IT IS SO RANDOM. IT HAS BEEN IN THEIR SHOP FOR OVER 2 WEEKS NOW. I JUST WANT SOMEONE TO BE AWARE OF THESE ISSUES INCASE IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. THIS COULD BE A SCARY ISSUE IF IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING.

  • 11/19/2020· POWER TRAIN

WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREET AND HIGHWAY, TRANSMISSION SHIFTING AT SPEEDS OF 25MPH,45MPH,55MPH START VIBRATING ALSO COMING TO A STOP FEEL LIKE A REAR END BUMP.

  • 11/18/2018· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE

I HAVE A 2018 CHEVROLET COLORADO LT 4WD CREW CAB. MULTIPLE TIMES ON A COLD START THE ENGINE IS MISFIRING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIKE COMES ON, THE VSA, AND T/C LIGHTS ALL COME ON AND A NOTIFICATION ON THE DASH SAYING STABILITRAK IS DISABLED. THE VEHICLE SHAKES TERRIBLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL FLASH AND THEN GO SOLID. I AM AN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN. I KNOW THAT A MISFIRE SHOULD SET A HARD DTC. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS TURNED OFF AND STARTED SEVERAL HOURS LATER THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY OTHER LIGHT ON. THE DEALERSHIP IN MARYSVILLE, OH HAD MY TRUCK FOR 3 DAYS AND TOLD ME THEY CLEANED A BUNCH OF TERMINALS AT SEVERAL CONNECTORS. WHATEVER THAT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. THEY SAID THEY STARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AFTER AND EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. THE NEXT DAY AFTER I PICKED THE TRUCK UP, IT DID THE SAME EXACT THING! EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING! I KNOW A CONTINUOUS MISFIRE LET'S UNBURNED FUEL INTO THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WHICH LEADS TO PREMATURE BREAKDOWN OF THE CATALYST. SO MY QUESTION IS WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT THESE ISSUES? ANOTHER ISSUE IS WITH THE TRANSMISSION. ON A COLD START THERE IS A CLUNK NOISE. THEN WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING AT CRUISING SPEED AND YOU LET OFF THE THROTTLE AND DEPRESS THROTTLE AGAIN THERE IS A SHUDDER. ALSO, WHEN YOU COME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE VEHICLE TRIES TO JOLT FORWARD. THIS IS EXTREMELY CONCERNING ESPECIALLY ON A VEHICLE WITH ROUGHLY 18,000 MILES ON IT. THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED PROMPTLY!!

  • 11/16/2019· POWER TRAIN

THE TRUCK'S DRIVETRAIN/TRANSMISSION CONSTANTLY SHAKES, SHUTTERS WHILE DRIVING. IT HAPPENS PERIODICALLY THROUGHOUT THE RPM RANGES.

  • 11/13/2025· POWER TRAIN

Highlighting a materials defect with the rear crankshaft reluctor ring on the 2.8 LWN Duramax, installed in the Army Infantry Squad Vehicle and the 2015-2023 Chevrolet Colorado, from which it is based. When the ring delaminates, due to age, the vehicle engine shuts off and no start, rendered dead lined, as the ECU can no longer "see" the crank position. Requiring the transmission to be removed to rectify the issue.  I was pulling a trailer up a hill on the freeway when my truck down shifted, in an effort to slow down for a bus that was merging unexpectedly and the truck died at speed. The increase in RPM initiated an unplanned, instant disassembly of the ring due to cracking on the material and increased centrifugal force, shutting off the engine without warning, at speed. Again, just dead stick to the shoulder, towing a trailer, on the freeway. That could have been bad... Had truck towed to GM dealer, for a month-long repair.

  • 11/12/2024· POWER TRAIN

transmission shudders from 20 to 60 under light acceleration. took to dealer and said that needed different oil. dealer stated that a common issue with these vehicles. Cost $500 to replace oil to proper oil.

  • 11/11/2025· POWER TRAIN

transmission is not shfting properly.Truck losses speed and shutters when trying to accelerate.Difficulty climbing hills.Especially dangerous when merging with traffic.Only 33,000 miles on my truck.GM should recall to address this much complained about issue.

  • 11/08/2019· STEERING

WHILE DRIVING, SPECIFICALLY WHEN MAKING TURNS AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD GET JAMMED UP AND BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN BACK TO COMPLETE A TURN/GET STRAIGHTENED OUT. HAPPENS ON BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT TURNS. FIRST HAPPENED ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, JUST ONE TIME WHILE EXITING MY DRIVEWAY. I TURNED THE ENGINE OFF AND BACK ON AND IT SEEMED TO GO AWAY. IT IS NOW VERY CLEAR THAT IT IS MECHANICAL IN NATURE, SOMEWHERE CLOSE TO THE STEERING WHEEL IN THE CONSOLE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT NEXT WEEK WITH THE DEALERSHIP, I WILL UPDATE WITH THE FINDINGS.

  • 11/08/2017· POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES

I HAD TRUCK STATIONARY PARKED ON A SLIGHT INCLINE ON A DIRT ROAD FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES WHEN I HEARD A ODD SOUND LIKE "ARRRRR CLUNK" AND MY CAR ROLLED DOWN A HILL. I HAD MY CAR ON PARK WHILE ON 4LOW WITH THE ENGINE OFF. I DID NOT HAVE MY PARKING BRAKE ON THOUGH BUT THE INCLINE WAS SO SLIGHT I FEEL I DID NOT NEED IT. MY TRUCK WAS NOT LOADED WITH ANY EXTRA WEIGHT OR ANYTHING TO CAUSE IT TO ROLL DOWN THE HILL. I TRULY BELIEVE I AM NOT AT FAULT FOR THIS HAPPENING IT IS A BRAND NEW CAR HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN? PRIOR TO THIS I WAS NOT DOING ANYTHING EXTREME TO DAMAGE MY CAR IN ANY WAY. SOMETHING MUST HAVE FAILED ON MY TRUCK.

  • 11/05/2024· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I detected the smell of fuel while the vehicle when it was both not running and running. I brought the truck to Banks Chevrolet in Concord NH. The high pressure fuel pump detached from its mounting flange, resulting in damage to the attaching high pressure fuel pipe causing a constant fuel leak. Dealer replaced the high pressure fuel pump and high pressure fuel pipe to resolve the concern. There is a NHTSA recall that my vehicle should have been included in, 18V358000. The GM recall number is 18188. I paid out of pocket (~$1500) to fix this safety issue when it should have been fixed initially with the recall.

  • 11/05/2020· POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER

THE TRUCK VIBRATES , STUTTERS SOME TIMES WHEN DRIVING. WENT TO DEALER HE SAID IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IN TRUCKS. HE SAID THICKER TRANS OIL SHOULD FIX IT. IS THIS JUST A BAND AID FOR A BIGGER PROBLEM. WOULD LIKE YOUR VIEW. THANKS.

  • 11/01/2019· SEAT BELTS

MY DRIVER SEAT BELT FAILS TO LOCK, IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW MONTHS, BUT HAS GOTTEN DRASTICALLY WORSE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DEALERSHIP, BUT THE FIRST AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT IS THURSDAY NOVEMBER 7TH 2019. I AM IN A GROUP ON FACEBOOK FOR THIS VEHICLE AND OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE.

  • 10/30/2019· POWER TRAIN

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2018 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE FORCEFULLY. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERTRICH CHEVROLET CADILLAC OF SALISBURY (LOCATED AT 2531 N SALISBURY BLVD, SALISBURY, MD 21801, (410) 713-4640) AND WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,500.

  • 10/23/2020· ENGINE

I HAVE A 2018 CHEVROLET COLORADO 3.6L. I HAVE HAD A RATTLE NOISE ON COLD START THAT WOULD HAPPEN EVERY SO OFTEN. NOW THAT I'M 1K MILES OUT OF POWERTRAIN WARRANTY THIS RATTLE NOISE HAPPENS JUST ABOUT EVERY TIME I START MY TRUCK. IT IS CAUSED BY THE VARIABLE TIMING ACTUATOR ON THE CAMSHAFT. I AM AN AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN, AND I'M VERY FAMILIAR WITH VARIABLE TIMING ACTUATORS. THE PROBLEM IS THE LOCK PIN IN THE ACTUATOR DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY WHEN YOU TURN THE VEHICLE OFF CAUSING IT TO DRAIN ALL THE OIL OUT OF IT. THIS CAUSES THE ACTUATOR TO RATTLE AROUND UNTIL IT GET OIL PRESSURE. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSING ISSUES WITH YOUR TIMING CHAIN AND OTHER COMPONENTS INTERNALLY IN THE ENGINE. VERY DISTURBING THAT GM KEEPS MAKING VEHICLES THAT WORK FINE, USUALLY, UNTIL THEY HAVE GOTTEN OUT OF WARRANTY. LET ME ALSO STATE THAT I REGULARLY CHANGE MY OIL WITH THE RECOMMENDED OIL AND WELL BEFORE IT'S DUE. NOT VERY HAPPY!

THE DISPLAY FOR THE BACKUP CAMERA IS ON AT FULL BRIGHTNESS. THERE IS A CONTROL KNOB TO DIM THE INTERIOR LIGHTING AND DISPLAY, BUT WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT INTO REVERSE, THE DISPLAY GOES TO FULL BRIGHTNESS AND CANNOT BE CONTROLLED BY THE BRIGHTNESS CONTROL KNOB. AT NIGHT, THE PASSENGER SIDE MIRROR IS NOT USEABLE SINCE THE BACKUP DISPLAY IS SO BRIGHT. THIS ALMOST RESULTED IN ACCIDENTS WHEN BACKING UP INTO A PARKING SPOT.

I AM WRITING TO INFORM YOU OF A SAFETY ISSUE WITH MY 2018 CHEVROLET COLORADO. WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK THE IGNITION KEY WILL NOT RELEASE. CHEVROLET DOC# 4811390 DOCUMENTS A FLEET WIDE PROBLEM WITH THE COLORADO. THERE HAS BEEN NO RE-CALL ISSUED BY CHEVROLET TO CORRECT THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I GOT MY COLORADO REPAIRED AT A COST OF $642.15. I LOOKED AT THE SHIFTER THAT WAS REMOVED FROM THE TRUCK, AND FOUND THAT THE MICRO SWITCH THAT ACTIVATES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PLACED IN PARK HAD A BROKEN MOUNTING POST CAUSING IT TO BE MISALIGNED. I HAVE INCLUDED PICTURES OF THE SWITCH AND MOUNTING POST. *JS

All the sensors seem to not be functioning correctly. Doesn't tell me the right measurements for the wheels, gas, over heating. Right front passenger door locks/unlocks when it wants. It chokes up when trying to accelerate. Theres a rattling noise that comes from under the car. First time I took it to the dealership, they stated it was a bolt that had come loose on the exhaust pipe. They placed a new one which lasted a year and a half and now its back to making the noise. I took it again to the dealership, this time they claimed they couldn't find anything. My airbag sensor keeps coming on constantly. My fuel sensor claims 116 miles one moments and 5 or 6 minutes later, it says I have 50 miles. My car was over heating and low on Anti-freeze, the car never notified it was over heating.

While driving my 2018 Chevy Colorado with 42000 miles I noticed my vehicles steering would get stuck while making turns on the highway and local streets. The problem was intermittent and was getting worse. I didn't receive any warning lights or codes for this problem but realized I had to bring it to a Chevy dealer to try to resolve the issue because I was afraid to drive it any longer due to steering possibly locking up completely. The mechanic at Island Chevy in Staten Island said the electronic rack and pinion steering gear failed and I had to replace with a new one. The cost of the repair was $2700 dollars. I was very shocked by the price due to age of car, the low mileage and never doing any off road driving. I did have another mechanic look at this problem before Chevy did and couldn't pinpoint the exact issue at the time I brought it in. The mechanic told me to bring it to Chevy to hopefully pinpoint the problem and see if there were any recalls or warranties on it.

I'LL BE COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, ACCELERATING THROUGH THE TURN AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN, WITHOUT WARNING, THE TRUCK LOSES ALL POWER. NO FLASHING DASH, NOTHING. I HAVE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD, TURN ON THE HAZARDS, PUT IN PARK, AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE NOW. FROM SOME ONLINE FORUMS I'VE READ, THE PROBLEM ONLY SEEMS TO GET WORSE AND HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS AROUND 30-40 MPH. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURING WARRANTY FOR ANOTHER 500 OR SO MILES. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO A CERTIFIED CHEVY REPAIR SHOP AND AFTER A WEEK OF TROUBLESHOOTING AND TRYING TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM, THEY HAVE FOUND "NOTHING" WRONG WITH THE CAR. IF THIS DOESN'T GET FIXED AND CONTINUES TO OCCUR, IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE AN ACCIDENT HAPPENS.

THIS IS DONE APPROXMATELY 9 TIMES A WEEK AT THIS ONE DEALER, ROSS DOWNING IN HAMMOND, LA. THIS IS THE 8SP TRANS. THAT IS USED IN SEVERAL GM REAR DRIVE CARS AND TRUCKS. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 6300 MILES ON IT. WHEN TRYING TO PASS VEHICLES ON INTERSTATE IT VIBRATES SO BAD OVER 70 MPH I AM AFRAID TO WRECK. OTHERS I HAVE TALKED TO AT DEALERSHIP CLAIM THERE VEHICLE VIBRATES AT LOWER SPEEDS, SURGES AND MAKING NOISE. THIS DEALERSHIP DOING 9 A WEEK, THAT PROBABLY IS SEVERAL THOUSAND A WEEK STATEWIDE. THIS IS A TERRIBLE PROBLEM THAT NEEDS FIXIN. MANY THANKS.

IF I AM ABLE TO DRIVE WITHOUT STOPPING, THERE WILL BE NO ISSUES. HOWEVER, IF I COME TO A STOP WITHIN 0.5 MILES OR SO, THE ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF. WHEN I TRY AND RESTART, THE ENGINE WILL STALL REPEATEDLY. THE ENGINE WILL EVENTUALLY RESTART. THERE HAVE BEEN NO CODES PRODUCED NOR ANY LIGHTS ON THE DASH BOARD. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.

shutter or vibration issue regardless of speed even when cruise control is active. took it to the dealer and they said the wrong fluid was installed at the manufacturer. also told me my extended warranty would not cover it since it was not a mechanical issue. i saw that GM has issued a service bulletin 18-NA-355. however, i have yet to discover from any online account that this fixed the problem. why is there no recall for this common issue.

While driving, there is noticeable “shudder” that seems to feel like an issue with the transmission when it is shifting (automatic transmission). Research online shows this to be a consistent issue and concern with many owners of the 2018 Chevy Colorado. Having this shudder has not had a solution by the several mechanic shops I’ve been to. Nobody seems to know what is causing this issue, but with many owners having this same problem there must be something that Chevrolet can do to resolve this issue. We bought the vehicle brand new in 2018, and it is now paid off, but this shudder while driving has happened since we have owned the vehicle. It seems to be more prevalent while driving between 30 mph to 60 mph. The shudder happens during ever drive we take. We have the vehicle maintenance performed on all of the recommended intervals for oil, fluids, tires, brakes, etc. This is definitely something that should be a recall.
