The coolant intrusion into cylinder #2 . Very well known problem with Ford EcoBoost engines. This car has the 2.0L engine and there hasnt been a recall on it yet. It becomes a safety concern when the problem gets bad enough to allow oil to leak , causing a engine fire. The problem was diagnosed by a Lincoln dealer. No, it was not inspected by the manufacturer but my dealer did communicate the issue to Ford. There were check engine lights because this causes a cylinder misfire as the coolant leaking into the cylinders is burned. We already had the problem repaired by replacing the engine long block assembly which cost $8176.93 .

FIRST NOTICED THE PROBLEM WHEN I HAD NO HEAT BLOWING FROM MY HEATER, (CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATING OR ANYTHING), I CHECKED MY ANTIFREEZE AND IT WAS LOW SO I ADDED IT AND I HAD HEAT IN MY CAR AGAIN. FOUR DAYS LATER, I HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN, NO ANTIFREEZE (AND AGAIN NOTHING SHOWING MY CAR OVERHEATING), ADDED ANTIFREEZE AND HAD HEAT AGAIN. PARKED MY CAR ON A CEMENT DRIVEWAY AND OBSERVED NO ANTIFREEZE LEAKING, BUT THERE WAS A VERY STRONG AND HORRIBLE SMELL OF ANTIFREEZE BURNING COMING FROM MY EXHAUST ALSO, THINK WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. CAR IS NOW WAITING AT THE FORD DEALER TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. CAR ONLY HAS 49,852 MILES ON IT.

Battery drain issues - causing faulty modules on driver side door which include the safety belts modules, rear lift gate as well as black panel screen. Poor engine performance and warning lights like the check engine light come on and off intermittently. I have replaced the battery several times and having various modules problems some have come up as air bags, and ABS brakes modules. Lincoln knows about the problems and so far, is not able to fix the problems that causes the battery to drain, which causes all the faulty modules. Really don't expect anything like a recall, but this is now documented to warned others. if the modules don't work properly, the sensors will not work correctly either in the vehicles. There are over 20+ modules in the MKC that work with the sensors. Thank you for at least reading.

TSB 19-2346 ... Engine gives no warning until to late ... Then multiple warnings and alarms happen all at once ... says the car is overheating but before you have time to react (Like pulling over) the alarms clear ... engine light is only warning on ... This could cause the motor to seize or stop running loosing power steering and control ... This has been known since 2019 when TSB-19-2346 was announced which means they knew sooner ... Ford told me there is no known problem with this motor but TSB says other wise ... There is no fix to problem .. Motor replacement is it ... I purchased this car from ford Dealer 09/19/20 with 25000 miles ... I never got any notice on the car and the problems it was having ... now they want me to pay out of pocket for new motor $7000 ... we still owe $20000 on the car and its down ...

There is a design flaw in the way coolant flows around the engine block which allows coolant to leak into cylinder 3 the result of which is the mix of coolant and motor oil damages the engine with no probability of repair. The only recourse is engine replacement. A Ford service bulletin as to this issue has been issued by Ford to its Service Departments. A design change in the motor block has supposedly corrected the problem. It affects all Ecoboost 2.0 4 cylinder engines used by Ford, but may apply to other Ford 4 cylinder engines as well. The engine in my 2017 Lincoln MKC has the problem at 77K miles. At present the car is not safe to drive as the engine could seize at any time. There are several YouTube videos on the subject showing the damage to the engine due to this problem. A copy of the service report from the local Ford dealer, Chestatee Ford, Dahlonega, GA can be provided.

THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON THE LINCOLN MKC MALFUNCTION IN THE RAIN. I EXPERIENCED SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE, UNDER FLOOD ADVISORY CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. I CHANGE THE WIPER AUTOMATION SETTINGS SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL THE WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS ISSUE FOR ANYONE DRIVING A 2017 LINCOLN MKC AND DO NOT BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE TAKEN LIGHTLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN LIVES ARE AT HAND. IN THE ABOVE SET INSTANCE I WAS DRIVING DURING THE DAY WITH RAIN SLEET AND SNOW UNDER FLOOD ADVISORY CONDITIONS.

THE CAR WAS NOT ON. IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF A RESIDENTIAL HOME. THE LIFT GATE WAS OPEN. THE ARM THAT LIFTS AND SUPPORTS THE LIFT GATE BROKE SUDDENLY. IT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION AND A LARGE PRESSURIZED SPRING (GREATER THAN 2 FEET IN LENGTH) PROPELLED FROM THE LIFT GATE ARM. THIS SPRING STRUCK A CHILD IN THE FACE WITH SO MUCH FORCE THAT IT KNOCKED HIM DOWN, WITH CUTS AND BRUISED TO THE CHILD'S FACE (NEAR THE EYES). THE FORCE OF THE SPRING ALSO CAUSED A DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER. IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, IT HAS POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BODILY HARM.

Symptoms consistent with TSB 19-2346 for 2.0L EcoBoost engines: coolant in cylinders, white exhaust smoke and check engine light is on. I have to keep topping off the coolant weekly, engine light comes and goes with same errors. Went to a general mechanic who got error codes PO301-00 AND PO316-00. Currently scheduled next week to see an engine mechanic. Available for inspection upon request. Has not put us in danger yet but is of major concern due to potential for failure, so we are having it seen to ASAP. We don't have a Ford dealership so nearby to go out there with a failing car just to have them verify that yes that is the issue and yes it will be a very expensive repair we could not afford if we did it with them. Despite very low mileage it is still past warranty date, so any goodwill would have to come after we go through the trouble of bringing our vehicle in and hoping for the best. We called and they couldn't even provide any kind of ballpark likelyhood of goodwill.

THREE WARNINGS CAME UP ON THE DASH: 1. SERVICE ADVANCETRAC, 2. STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED, 3. HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. I HAD IT TOWED TO MY LOCAL SERVICE STATION AND HE DIAGNOSED THAT IT WAS THE "ELECTRONICS" IN MY RACK AND PINION. HE ADVISED THAT I TAKE IT TO FORD/LINCOLN, BECAUSE IT MAY, OR SHOULD BE UNDER WARRANTY. I THEN TOWED MY CAR TO THE CLOSEST FORD DEALER THAT I WAS ABLE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH, BECAUSE ALL THE DEALERS IN QUEENS, NY ARE BACKED UP, 4-6 WEEKS. I RECEIVED AN IMMEDIATE RESPONSE: "WE FOUND THE PROBLEM. INTERNAL FAILURE WITH THE ELECTRONIC RACK AND PINION. THAT'S WHY IT IS CAUSING ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WHILE DRIVING AND HARD STEERING. THE RACK CAN'T COMMUNICATE WITH THE VEHICLE. PARTS AND LABOR WITH AN ALIGNMENT AND DIAGNOSTIC IS $2,106 PLUS TAX. IT'S ELECTRONIC. CAN'T CONTROL AND DON'T KNOW WHAT CAUSES IT TO GO BAD. IT IS ONLY COVERED UNDER THE BASIC 3YR./36K MILE WARRANTY. IT'S AN INTERNAL ISSUE WITH THE RACK. IT'S ALL COMPLETE WITH NEW RACK AND ELECTRONIC UNIT BUILT INTO IT. I KNOW IT'S EXPENSIVE. IT'S THE SAME SET UP AS THE FORD EXPLORER. JUST DID ONE THE OTHER DAY. THE PART ALONE IS $1296.00 AND IT TAKES 2 DAYS TO GET. THEY (FORD) KNOW OF IT BUT NO RECALL. PART INCLUDES 1YR./12K WARRANTY PARTS AND LABOR." I AM GETTING THE CAR REPAIRED. I WAS TOLD IT SHOULD BE READY BY TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 15TH, 2020.
