  When driving my transit 250 it vibrates a lot and I was told that the transmission is going out. After I researched I find that this is a common problem with this Ford vehicle. It cost about $4000 to fit and Ford is not helping customers with their vehicle. Why is there no recall on this problem?

  THE INTERIOR LIGHTS AND NAVAGATION/RADIO SYSTEM WILL NOT TURN OFF. THE DOOR SWITCH IS FAULTY ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE VEHICLE WAS ASSEMBLED AT THE VALENCIA FINAL ASSEMBLY PLANT. THERE ARE RECALLS FOR OTHER FORD TRANSIT VEHICLES FOR FAILING DOOR SWITCHES. I AM CONCERNED FOR SIMULAR FAILURES WITH THE DOOR SWITCH ALLOWING THE DOOR TO OPEN AND ALSO A POSSIBLE ELECTRICAL FIRE CAUSED BY THE MALFUNCTIONING NAVIGATION/RADIO AND INTERIOR LIGHTING SYSTEM NOT TURNING OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY.

  THIS IS THE SECOND TIME OUR GAS PEDAL HAS SNAPPED AND BROKE OFF WHEN TAKING OFF/ ACCELERATING. IT HAS ALSO SEEMED TO DEVELOP SOME SORT OF STUTTER/BOG/HESITATION THAT SEEMS TO BE LINKED WITH THE COMMUNICATION FROM THE GAS PEDAL TO THE COMPUTER. SOMETIMES WE WILL GO AHEAD AND PULL ON OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND ACCELERATE TO GET UP TO SPEED AND THE VAN WILL BASICALLY FEEL LIKE IT'S STUTTERING/ HESITATING AND WE GIVE IT FURTHER THROTTLE WITH THE GAS PEDDLE, THEN IT WILL FINALLY ENGAGE AND SEEMS TO DROP DOWN SEVERAL GEARS AND SLAM/THRUST FORWARD. WE HAVE CONTACTED OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER MOUNTAIN VIEW FORD OF CHATTANOOGA TN AND THEY HAVE YET TO CORRECT OR REPAIR THIS PROBLEM. OUR VAN IS STILL COVERED UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. WE HAVE HAD TO SOURCE THE REPLACEMENT PART FROM A JUNK YARD BOTH TIMES IN ORDER TO USE OUR VEHICLE WHICH HAD TO BE TOWED OFF THE ROADWAY. THE GAS PEDAL ASSEMBLY IS MADE OF PLASTIC AND HAS NO BACK STOP TO STOP THE SUSPENDED GAS PEDAL FROM BOTTOMING OUT ONCE IT'S AT FULL ACCELERATION. I HAVE READ ONLINE THIS HAS HAPPENED TO OTHERS DEALING WITH THIS SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS GOING TO BE WE'RE GOING TO BE MERGING ON TO INTERSTATE AND IT'S GOING TO BRAKE AND LEAVE US STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY WITH ONCOMI NG TRAFFIC AND NO WAY TO GET OUT OF THE WAY. *DT*JB *BF*JB

  TRANSIT VAN EXPERIENCES A RESONATING VIBRATION IN THE DRIVESHAFT OR U-JOINTS JUST AS DESCRIBED IN EXISTING RECALL FOR TRANSIT VANS HOWEVER, MY VAN WAS NOT LISTED AS AFFECTED - I CONTEST AND WOULD CONSIDER IT TO BE AFFECTED. TRIES AND BRAKES HAVE BEEN CHANGED AND NOTHING CHANGED THE VIBRATIONS NOTICED AT 40-50 MILES PER HOUR. THEY SEEM TO DISSIPATE ABOVE 60 MPH. THE VIBRATIONS OR FREQUENCY SEEMS TO BE REOCCURING IN SHORT CYCLES AND MOSTLY AUDIBLE THROUGHOUT THE INTERIOR OF THE VAN. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURING SINCE ACQUIRED THE VAN AN HASN'T CHANGED IN 2 YRS.

  My VIN number is not included in the backup camera recall. It says the recall includes the 2017 Transit. My back up camera stopped working about a year ago. Also when the camera stopped working my cruise control stopped working also. I believe this is a larger electrical issue.

  Our fleet of Ford transits are all having similar issues. This is the 2nd time this particular vehicle has lost power while driving causing extremely dangerous safety concerns. We were instructed by Ford to replace the throttle body which was done in 2021 and now the same issue is occurring. Ford needs to remedy this issue long-term. This issue is affecting the trust from my employees to provide them safe transportation, inoperable vehicles are causing lost revenue and the rest of my fleet is now unreliable causing concern for more serious accidents. This is a major issue for people that have Ford Transit fleets.

  The transmission will downshift when deceleration and will actually throw you forward in the seat due to dropping into a lower gear. Vehicle has also developed an oil leak where oil is dripping onto the manifold, possible engine fire hazard. Engine is losing coolant due to possible blown head gasket.

  TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, EXHAUST FUMES WERE PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE CABIN. IN ADDITION, THE REAR FLOOR WAS VERY HOT TO THE TOUCH. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VELDE FORD (2200 N. 8TH ST, PEKIN, IL) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A SHORTENED EXHAUST PIPE; HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE FROM THE MANUFACTURER. THE EXHAUST PIPE WAS EXTENDED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND NO SOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.

  Vehicle loses ability to control acceleration going into a "limp" mode while on the highway. This poses a serious safety risk to the driver, passenger and all other drivers on the road. The van has to "coast" to safety. This occurs with no warning and is very sporadic. The throttle body was replaced 7/1/2021 after 109,256 miles. This is a repeating issue with my fleet of Ford Transits ranging from 2015-2018, some vehicles having this part replaced more than once.

  The sliding door does not stay closed. My 5 children are at risk when the door opens while driving. I took it recently to the dealer and they said they fixed the handle and that everything else was fine. That night it opened 3 times within 1 mile.

  Transmission will downshift on its own when vehicle is decelerating making engine RPMs over rev. Only way I have found to prevent this is to shift to neutral and then back to drive. I don't like doing this because it could accidently get shifted into reverse while driving at highway speeds! Valve cover leaks dripping oil onto the exhaust manifold causing the vehicle to smoke very badly and could possibly cause a fire.

  PASSENGER SIDE SLIDING DOOR FREQUENTLY COMES OFF THE HINGES AND LATCH DOES NOT HOLD THE DOOR SHUT. THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD THE LATCH REPLACED TWO TIMES IN 2 MONTHS. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE DOORS SLIDES OPEN.

  My brakes are very soft. They have been bled and still persist to be soft and will go all the way to the floor. I have found many people having this same problem online with no solution. There seems to be a problem with the ABS system or something. It makes it very hard to stop suddenly. All of my components are in working condition and well maintained.

  REAR AXLE AND WHEEN CAME OFF THE VAN. THE FIVE BOLTS ALL SHEARED OFF AT THE SAME LOCATION. THEY WERE NOT LOSE AND THAT ALL BROKE EVENLY. THE AXLE THEN CAME OFF WITH THE WHEEN AND TIRE ATTACHED AND THE VAN CONTUNED TO MOVE OVER TO THE SHOLDER. THE VAN WAS MOVING AT 35 MPH AND WAS ON A HIGHWAY ON RAMP.   The contact owns a 2017 Ford Transit. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V408000 (Power Train). The contact stated that while his daughter-in-law was driving approximately 60-70 MPH down the interstate, there was an abnormally loud, unidentifiable sound coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the brakes were inoperable. The vehicle rolled to the side of the road. The contact stated that the repairs should be covered under a warranty for three years or 36,000 miles. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and it was determined that the drive shaft coupling had detached. The heater hose and brake lines had additional damage. The brake line and brake fluid warning lights illuminated after the failure. The manufacturer was contacted, who confirmed that the repairs were not covered. No assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 178,000.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, there was an abnormal banging sound underneath the floorboard. The contact pulled over and turned off the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that there was fluid puddling underneath the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer. The dealer informed the contact that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V767000 (Power Train), and that the failure was caused by the driveshaft separating from the flexible coupling. The contact was informed that the driveshaft had damaged the transmission and the fuel line. The contact was informed that the recall repair only covered the repair of the driveshaft and flexible coupling, and that he had to cover the repair costs of the other damages. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

  THE DASH DISPLAY WOULD GO COMPLETELY BLANK INTERMITTENTLY, BEGINNING WITH A CHIME AND "LOW BRAKE FLUID" WARNING. ALL GAUGES WOULD GO TO ZERO AND THERE WAS NO INFORMATION DISPLAYED AFTER A COUPLE OF SECONDS. THIS WOULD OCCUR WHILE TURNING OR ACCELERATING. WE TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALER WHO FOUND MULTIPLE COMMUNICATION FAULTS AND RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. THIS WAS DONE WITH NO CHANGE. I FINALLY TRACED THIS DOWN TO AN UNSECURED WIRING HARNESS THAT GOES UP INSIDE THE RIGHT REAR PILLAR OF THE VEHICLE, WHICH WAS SWINGING AROUND AND SHORTING OUT THE MEDIUM SPEED CAN BUS. I SECURED THE WIRING HARNESS TOWARDS THE INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE WITH A CABLE TIE AND THE PROBLEM HAS NOT RETURNED. BUT IT WAS VERY DISTRACTING WHILE IT HAPPENED. WE HAVE NOT HAD ANY SIMILAR PROBLEM WITH ANY OF OUR OTHER BIG TRANSITS.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Transit. The contact stated while driving 65-70 MPH on the freeway, the vehicle began to vibrate. The contact moved to the right lane, and there was an abnormal knocking noise detected. The brake pedal was depressed but failed to respond. The contact struck the curb, ran over the curb, and pulled up the parking brake, and the vehicle stopped. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who determined that the failure was due to the drive shaft being faulty and referred him to the local dealer. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed the failure was due to the driveshaft flexible coupling. The vacuum line, brake line, and fuel line were cut, and the transmission was inoperable. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 131,000. The VIN was not available.

  Vehicle rear camera has failed for the second time. Had it inspected at dealer and was told it was corrosion of wires, same as first time. Transit forums show it's a common problem. I don't want to back into/over anyone or run into something like my boat trailer which I did when it failed backing up and now have a large dent in the left rear door. Wire harness cost quoted at $450. There is obviously an issue. Thank you.

  The Driveshaft Flexible Coupling failed while traveling on Interstate 95 South. It is available for inspection upon request. Multiple recall notices have been issued for this (NHTSA 17V-408) problem, and we have complied with them ALL except for one that we never received, supposedly mailed November of 2019. We have two of the recalled vehicles (2) 2017 Ford Transit Vans. Our safety and the safety of others was put at risk when this Coupling failed while traveling on Interstate 95 South. The Van was being driven by one of my employees and another employee was with him when this occurred, rendering the vehicle completely inoperable. The issue has been confirmed by the dealer and has only been inspected by the service department at the dealership. There was absolutely no warning of any kind, no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Ford has refused to cover the collateral (additional) damages that occurred to the vehicle when the coupling failed. They contend this is because we never complied with recall notice 19S38, dated November 2019. We never received this notice, and Ford has been unwilling to tell us exactly when this notice was mailed. Our contention is that it was not mailed to us, because we initially had this part replaced in July 2018 (due to the first recall 17S15). In reading every notice sent to the Dealers, there is a section, "OWNER NOTIFICATION MAILING SCHEDULE", which states, "The parts to repair this condition are currently not available in sufficient quantities to service all of the affected vehicle configurations. Owners of affected vehicle configurations will be notified in phased mailings to ensure part availability." Ford will not tell us when this was mailed to us. They have continued to push the blame on to the NCDMV (their address database) however we have always received every NCDMV renewal notice for our fleet of 15 vehicles.

  THERE WERE 9 OF US IN OUR 2017 FORD TRANSIT, DRIVING ON ROUTE 15 81 MILES SOUTH OF LAS VEGAS, NV, WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON AT 75 MPH WHEN THE VAN SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION. PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WAITED 2.5 TO 3 HOURS FOR A FLATBED TOW TRUCK WHILE TEMPERATURE WAS 108 TO 109 DEGREES F. VEHICLE TOWED TO FRIENDLY FORD, LAS VEGAS, NV. MILEAGE ON VEHICLE WAS 13,744 MILES. DEALER FOUND FUSE F16 BURNED OPEN AND CODES P025A AND U0109. THEY REPLACED THE FUSE F16 AND ROAD TESTED FOR 15 MILES AND RETURNED THE VAN TO US. THEY CONTACTED FORD TECHNICAL HELP. THAT FUSE POWERS THE FUEL PUMP RELAY AND FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE AND PCM. SEEMS LIKE THIS SAME SCENARIO CAN AND WILL HAPPEN AGAIN UNDER THE SAME CONDITIONS. FAILURE MODE WAS WHEN WE WERE DRIVING UPHILL SLIGHTLY AT 1 OR 2 PERCENT UPHILL GRADE WITH 3/8 OF FUEL IN THE TANK. SINCE THEN WE DROVE 400 MILES WITHOUT A PROBLEM. AFRAID TO DRIVE IN THE LEFT CARPOOL LANE BECAUSE IT IS DANGEROUS TO STALL OUT (COULD GET KILLED BY A TRUCK OR BUS)

The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, there was an abnormal banging sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was losing motive power. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, when the vehicle was shifted into drive(D), the vehicle failed to respond. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the driveshaft coupling had failed. The dealer informed the contact that the parts to repair the vehicle was not available. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who repaired the vehicle.   TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD TRANSIT. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, AND THE CONTACT WAS JUST ABOUT TO MAKE A LEFT TURN AFTER THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN THEIR RED LIGHT AND CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT DID SUSTAIN INJURIES. THEY DID RECEIVE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE CONTACT SUFFERED A FRACTURED LEFT RIB, A CUT ON THE BACK OF THEIR HEAD AND LEFT SHOULDER AND BACK. THE CONTACT DID HAVE THEIR THREE CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH THEM. THE CHILDREN WERE NOT INJURED. THEY WERE STRAPPED INTO THEIR CAR SEATS. THE PERSON THAT CRASHED INTO THE CONTACT WAS INJURED. ONE OF THEIR SHOULDERS WAS DISLOCATED. THEY ROAD IN THE AMBULANCE WITH THE CONTACT. THE CONTACT DIDN'T KNOW IF THE PERSON RECEIVED MEDICAL ATTENTION OR NOT. THEIR WAS A POLICE REPORT MADE. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE DEEMED THE VEHICLE TOTALED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE.   The contact owns a 2018 Winnebago Paseo RV Carried by a 2017 Ford Transit. The contact stated that the RV was equipped with Hankook Tires, Tire line dynapro HT, Tire size 195-70R 16C, Dot number 77W7HUH. The contact stated that when driving at approximately 55mph a loud noise emitted from the driver’s side rear of the RV. The contact was able drive onto the road shoulder inspected the RV and found the rear driver’s side outside tire had tread separation and the steal belt had separated. The contact was able to drive the RV to the service dealer, the dealer found that the other tires were exhibiting tread and steal belt separation. The contact advised all tires are the same size, line, and same dot number. The tires were replaced. The failure mileage was 26,800.

  Will the recall be applied to 2017 Ford Transit 250 Vans with the same issue? We had this issue in October 2022, it was repaired at Freehold Ford, NJ.   SEAT BELT DID NOT WORK WHEN VEHICLE WAS REAR-ENDED. BOLT HOLDING THE SEAT BELT HARNESS CAME OUT OF PILLAR AND WAS FOUND ON THE FLOOR AFTER THE ACCIDENT. THE DRIVER HIT HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AS A RESULT. INSURANCE IS REQUESTING THE VEHICLE BE RELEASED TO SCRAP BUT WE ARE CONCERNED THAT THE EVIDENCE WILL NEED TO BE INVESTIGATED.

  THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT SEAL ISN'T WORKING, ALLOWING MOISTER IN THE LIGHT. THIS IS CORRUPTING THE WHOLE SYSTEM. THE RADIO, AC, RUNNING BOARDS, FIELD MONITORING SENSORS, AIRBAG SYSTEM, ALL TURN OFF AND ON WHILE DRIVING. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 38,000 MILES ON IT. THERE A MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS ON YOUTUBE AND OTHER FORD WEBSITES ABOUT THIS ISSUE.THE HOUSING FOR THE TAILLIGHT IS TERRIBLE AND NOT SEALED FOR THE LONG HAUL. THE DEALERSHIP HAS EVEN HAD TO DEAL WITH THIS MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO CRACKS OR CHIPS THAT WOULD BE CAUSING THIS, JUST IMPROPER SEALING FROM THE FACTORY. IT IS SCARY TO THINK THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM FAILS FROM THIS FAULTY TAIL LIGHT.

THE FORD MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE DOT NUMBER, TIRE LINE, AND VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Transit. The contact stated that while having a routine service at the local dealer, he noticed that there was a crack on the passenger’s side of the upper and lower control arms. The dealer diagnosed and confirmed the failure, but the vehicle was not repaired. There were no warning lights illuminated. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The failure mileage was unknown.

  I started feeling the van shaking it feels like it came from the back, and causes the steering wheel to shake. I balanced the tires, but that didn't help. I brought it to to Breedman Ford on Waukegan Rd in Glenview IL. I ask them if they ever heard of such a problem they said no. They charged $159 for diagnostics and came up it's the Torque converter clutch that's failing. I did a little research and this seems to be a common problem with these Transits. It so common that they are on back order, or you need to rebuild the converter. The mechanic wants $1500 to repair. I believe this is a failure on the part of Ford and they aren't making a recall. There is a risk of the converter completely failing and not be able to accelerate. Please have Ford fix or pay to fix the converter. Thank you

THE CONTACT CALLED WYNNE FORD LOCATED AT 1020 W MERCURY BLVD, HAMPTON, VA 23666, AND WAS INFORMED THAT AS PER THE RECALL REMEDY, THE MANUFACTURER WOULD REPLACE THE FLEXIBLE COUPLING EVERY 40,000 MILES UNTIL THE FINAL REMEDY WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED SINCE THE MILEAGE ON THE VEHICLE WAS 24,000. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

  Van experiences loud harmonic vibration that occurs from about 40-55 mph. The vibrations remained after all tires and wheels have been replaced and balanced. This "loud cycling hum" can be heard over radio and talking. Faster speeds it does subside above 60mph which encourages speeding to not have the noise throughout the interior of the van. This is an on going issue that has been noticed since purchase in Dec of 2018.

  Backup camera is no longer working. It has a white screen but no image, which makes it difficult to back up the van safely since it’s a large van and sits high. I live in a neighborhood with children and it’s challenging to see behind me when backing out of the driveway without the backup camera. Therefore, this is a safety issue. Ford and/or NHTSA have recalled these same backup cameras on other Ford Transit vans, including others manufactured in 2017, but did not include my van.
