  There is a recall on 2017 Ford Fusion's torque converter. I currently have a 2017 Ford Fusion. After inspection at a Ford service dealership, the "torque converter clutch internally failed filling the transmission filter with metal debris and starving the pump for fluid causing debris to go throughout the transmission." The problem with this, is that even though it's list as a recall for ,y specific car, the recall is not listed under my VIN number. This inspection was done on December 17, 2024. The safety of myself and children were put at risk when my car hesitated to accelerate on multiple occurrences on busy roads and intersections. The problem has been reproduced by a Ford dealer and has also been inspected by a Ford service dealership. There were no warning lights on indicating that there was a problem.

  2017 Ford Fusion with only 60k+ miles on it is having engine issues. Coolant leaks into the engine, resulting in a cylinder misfire which can cause an accident and significant engine damage—I now need a whole new engine. I am not the only Ford Fusion owner having this problem—numerous complaints have been made about this same issue. A recall should be issued as it is a defect caused by the manufacturer and the burden to repair or replace should not fall on the owner.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle drove roughly, and the engine was misfiring. Additionally, the contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the vehicle was idling roughly. The contact's father, who is an independent mechanic, diagnosed the failure as a blown head gasket and coolant intrusion into the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the failure was a blown head gasket and engine failure due to coolant intrusion. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact referenced Technical Service Bulletin: 22-2229; however, the repair was not covered under the TSB. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under any recalls or special programs. The contact was advised to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 86,000.

  CAR SHUT OFF WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT WITH NO WARNING AND THEN WHEN I WENT TO RESUME DRIVING THE CAR SAID IT WAS IN ACCESSORY MODE. I STARTED TO ROLL BACK AS I TOOK MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE. I WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART IT. I PULLED OVER FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE FEELING SAFE TO PROCEED. THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER CARS BEHIND ME WHEN THIS OCCURRED AND I AM THANKFUL I DID NOT ROLL BACK INTO ONE OF THEM. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO TELL ME WHAT CAUSED THIS PROBLEM. THEY SAID THERE WERE UNAWARE OF ANY ISSUES LIKE THIS. I HOWEVER HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AS WELL THAT WAS CAUSING A HARSH SHIFT THAT I WAS TAKING THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS FOR. THERE IS ONLY 10821 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AND IT IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY VEHICLE FOR 2 WEEKS AND HAS REPLACED THE CLUTCHES, SEALS, AND BUSHING ACCORDING TO THE REPORT WE RECEIVED. I DO NOT FEEL AS THOUGH A NEW CAR SHOULD HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES THIS SOON. I AM CONCERNED IF OTHERS WOULD FIND THE SAME ISSUES WITH THE NEW FUSION SPORT.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle briefly hesitated before returning to normal functionality. The contact later observed that the coolant reservoir was empty though it had been refilled the day before. The blank warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that coolant intrusion into the engine resulted in irreparable damage. The contact was informed that a replacement engine was required. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program 21N12. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 90,000.

  unknown vehicle needs to be jumped after every drive. i just picked up the car. only have had it for 4 days. have had to jump it twice. it has 61,000 miles on it. i have taken the battery out and in for a charge and tested and it it good was also purchased 7/22. all of the interior screens and lights come on but the start/stop button green light blinks. don't understand why there isn't a recall.

  On the highway we lost the steering assist function. The dash lit up with steering assist failure. Due to this system failing on the highway, I almost had an accident while in a turn, I went across the rumble strips toward the wall and just barley missed hitting the wall. When the power assist failed this made the vehicle harder to control then a standard manual steering car, it took a great deal of force to control the car.

  In our 2017 Ford Fusion, the back up camera sometimes says "unavailable at this time" (or something close to that) when put in reverse. It is available for inspection upon request. Safety is put at risk for multiple parties - the driver/owner, individual(s)/property behind the vehicle, insurance companies, and potentially others as the total view between mirrors and the backup camera is compromised. The vehicle has not been taken to a dealership as it is out of warranty. I see where Ford has a recall on some of these, so I checked both NHTSA and Ford websites, and it says this vehicle is ineligible for repair. However, we are experiencing this problem from time to time, most recently 2 days ago when our [XXX] old was driving it. He called to let us know what the camera was doing. I believe having a safety device glitching is unnacceptable, and I would like to see Ford resolve this issue for not just my car but all of them having a KNOWN issue!   2017 Ford Fusion 2.0L ecoboost engine is available for inspection. The engine block was designed incorrectly and coolant leaks into the cylinder. There is a risk of fire from the intrusion of coolant in the cylinder. Many other people are having this issue and they did recall the 1.5L engine. They need to on the 2.0L as well. My local mechanic identified the issue and I called the Ford dealer who didn't even need to see it said I need a new engine based off the mechanic's testing. After losing coolant and constantly refilling with no coolant being seen coming from the vehicle, the check engine light comes on. The code listed states that one of the cylinders is misfiring. This is due to coolant in the cylinder. With the risk of fire, Ford needs to put a recall on this issue for the 2.0L ecoboost.

  Swollen lug nuts that can’t be removed because they have swollen to be too large for the included jack as well as any other 19mm socket. My 2011 fusion had this problem and I spent approx $200+ to fix for all wheels inc labor (was labor intensive to strip off outer casing of swollen lugs), now my 2017 fusion has the same issue and I cannot out on a spare to replace my completely flat tire- will need to get towed to fix

  Vehicle is experiencing coolant intrusion from a crack in the engine block 3rd cylinder which is a known issue by Ford for my particular vehicle year (2017). Ford has issued a TSB/Recall for model years 2017-2019, I believe this issue should qualify for manufacturer recall as this is known issue.

  Ford Fusion 1.5L Ecoboost engines are known to have a fault short block that causes coolant intrusion. This defect does not trigger a check engine light, so there is no way for a driver to identify the problem until it's too late. Ford issued a Technical Safety Bulletin informing mechanics of this issue but customers were not given an option to repair it. A Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) was initiated to replace some VIN models short blocks, but not all. Other Ford 1.5L Ecoboost engines are having this issue and were not properly informed or given the option to repair through the CSP and are driving cars that can have total engine failure without proper notification. I have taken my Ford Fusion in for all the safety recalls and was never informed of this issue. I was not part of the CSP that aimed to repair the defect because my VIN did not qualify. However, my Ford Fusion 2017 1.5L Ecoboost engine has this same defect and it wasn't caught until damage had been done to the engine and a costly repair was initiated. No check engine light or warning came from Ford to inform me of this issue. I fortunately started hearing noises and went to check it out before taking a long trip in the snow--which could have had disastrous safety consequences if engine failure occurred. I am not the only one with a ford 1.5L Ecoboost engine that has had this issue. Many people have either not been included in the CSP program or were unable to repair in their narrow CSP plan window. Ford is waiting for enough complaints to identify if the issue is more widespread, despite knowing that it is a design flaw. This should be a total safety recall as their is no way for consumers to take proactive action against this defect without extensive knowledge of the issues with these engines, which Ford is not communicating to its customers.

The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into drive or reverse. The contact looked underneath and around the vehicle but was unable to identify the cause of the failure. The vehicle was pushed to the side of the road by the neighbors. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V427000 (Power Train). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed there was no recall or warranty coverage on the vehicle. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 69,900.

The contact stated that the check engine warning light had been illuminated and that the hood of the vehicle was trembling while an abnormal sound came from the engine upon starting the vehicle.   The shift cable bushing, which was covered on other Ford vehicles in a recall issued on 15 June 2022, failed on my 2017 Fusion. This occurred while in a parking lot. The car would not start as it was stuck in reverse. I had the issue repaired at a Ford dealer and it cost me $351. This is a known defect yet it would seem as though the scope of the recall was too narrow. Fortunately, the car did not roll away, however, it was a very busy lot and I was stranded in the middle of it until a tow truck could remove it.

  TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2017 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLINER FELL OUT OF PLACE IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (MID VALLEY FORD DEALER LOCATED AT 201 NE POLK SATION RD, DALLAS, OR) AND THE HEADLINER WAS REPLACED BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAG WAS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOUNTING BRACKETS WERE WELDED INTO THE WRONG POSITION IN THE VEHICLE. THE ROOF OF THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE DETACHED AND RE-WELDED INTO THE CORRECT POSITION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 32,000.

  I have a 2017 Ford Fusion Sport. I bought my vehicle at 19,000 miles. At 34,000 Ford repaired my oil pan because it was leaking. My oil pan is now leaking again and it is at 98,000 miles. There is a recall for leaking oil pans for my year and engine type (2.7 ecoboost) my vehicle is not currently on the recall list however I feel it should be because it is abnormal to replace oil pans and gaskets this often. I've seen where Ford is now putting in metal oil pans to replace the plastic ones that have issues. My vehicle has this issue. What do I do to get it added to the recall list? My car is currently at Grimm's Automotive and I do not have a copy of the diagnostic but I can get it and submit it once I have it.

  Check engine has been off and on for last 500 miles. Regular maintenance. Took to dealership, Codes found of P0303, P0300, and p2196. Found coolant was low and confirmed coolant intrusion into engine. Per dealership either bad head, head gasket, or block and ford recommended replacing engine. Quoted $9000 in repairs to replace engine. Declined repair due to cost. According to NHTSA this is a common issue and should be addressed. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the torque converter had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired.   My 2017 Ford Fusion , with 58,228 miles on it has a bad engine, which is a known issue, yet not a recall. My engine overheated as I was driving on the expressway. I called Ford, case # CAS040244200, but my powertrain warranty expired 7/22 . Please read what has happened to others while their engine overheats while driving a 2017 Ford Fusion when coolant gets into the cylinder (in my case it's cylinder #3). Also Ford was aware of this issue...TSB# 19-2208, but has yet to place a recall

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after shifting to drive(D), the vehicle erroneously rolled backwards up a slight incline. The failure had occurred on several occasions. Additionally, while driving down a hill and depressing the brake pedal, the brakes malfunctioned, the vehicle failed to stop, and drove through a 4-Way intersection and drove approximately a half mile before stopping. During the failure, the message "Transmission not in Park" was displayed. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.

  I was driving my car one day and the power steering fault message popped up on my dash of my car. So I turned around and went home. I turned the car off and then turn the car back on. Then the power steering fault message showed up with other warning messages. So I tried turning the steering wheel and noticed there was no power steering at all. So the next day I had it towed to the Ford dealer to have them look at it and fix the issue. They ended up replacing the rack and pinion and the power steering motor. When I picked the car up I asked the service person if it was a common part that broke on the car and he said it was a common part that broke. I was surprised that they had that specific part in stock when they told me the problem. Also I was not happy that I had to $4,400.00 to fix it. In my mind if it is a common part that breaks then why hasn't been a recall on that part.

  When putting my car in park, I received a warning "SHIFT SYS FAULT" Confirm Park Brake Apply Before Exiting the Vehicle. My parking brake was never on. When I got back in my vehicle, my gear shift would not let me take put my vehicle into gear. I googled and found it was the gear shift bushing and there was a recall on this part. I was able to take my vehicle to the repair shop and told them there was a recall. They informed me the recall was not for my vehicle because the recall was for automatic transmissions on 2016 and before. How can this exact same part be a recall on an automatic vehicle, but not on an electronic "dial" gear shift?

  I FIRST NOTICED WHEN I WAS IN REVERSE THE CAR STALLED THEN A WRENCH TOOL APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK THEN PROCEEDED TO SHIFT TO DRIVE AND DROVE OFF. THAT OCCURRED SPORADICALLY UNTIL 12/14/2018 WHEN A SHIFTSYSFAULT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD. I STARTED TO DRIVE OUT OF A PARKING LOT AFTER I PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE BUT THE GEAR SHIFTED TO PARK ON IT'S OWN AS I WAS DRIVING. BOTH ME N MY PASSENGER TRIED SHIFTING THE GEAR WITHOUT SUCCESS. I TRIED OVERRIDING THE GEAR ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL AND YOUTUBE VIDEO BUT IT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF PARK. CONTINUOUSLY SHIFTING TO PARK FROM NEUTRAL, REVERSE AND DRIVE ON IT'S OWN WHICH CAUSED ME TO PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK TO GET HOME. ONCE HOME I WAS ABLE TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL THEN DRIVE SO I COULD PARK IT BETTER HOWEVER A NEIGHBOR ATTEMPTED TO OVERRIDE THE COMPUTER BY UNPLUGGING THE BATTERY THEN REATTACHING IT WHEN ANOTHER ALERT APPEARED SAYING ENGINE COOLANT WAS AT A HIGH TEMPERATURE AFTER THE CAR HAD BEEN OFF FOR 2HRS. WAS STOPPED AT A BUSY INTERSECTION ON A CITY STREET ABOUT TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN, THE CAR STALLED AND WENT INTO FULL ACCESSORY MODE. STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AFTERWARDS WITH NO PROBLEMS. CAR HAS 8500 MILES ON IT. A CAR STALLING WHILE IN DRIVE IS UNSAFE IN THE CASE OF BEING ON TRAIN TRACKS, STALLING COULD BE FATAL. CAN NOT BE REPLICATED AND NO CODES THROWN. WITH NO CODES, DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE. SEVERAL OTHERS (CAR EXPERTS, SOME ASE CERTIFIED) STATE CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR COULD BE THE FAULT.

The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while driving from a complete stop. Additionally, the contact stated that the failure occurred while reversing. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V427000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.

The contact attempted to exit the highway however, the vehicle failed to respond as needed while attempting to merge over to the exit ramp. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to report the failure to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was 120,000.

  I have brought our Truck and our Car to the dealer several times and had other service that I paid for completed and they refuse to perform Recall 20C19 I have attempted to contact Ford and they have refused to respond to my concern. Bell Rd Ford is the dealer I brought it to.
