  I bought the car when it was 1 year old. I have never had the front brake calipers off the car but 2 of the front brake caliper bracket bolts became loose and fell out. It appears that when the car was built that the bolts weren't torqued properly.

The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the torque converter failure had caused the transmission failure. The dealer was made aware of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously taken to the dealer for the recurring failure; however, the cause of the failure could not be determined.   The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the engine temperature gauge stated that the engine was overheated. Upon inspection it was discovered that the coolant level was low. Coolant was added but the failure reoccurred approximately one week later. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who determined that coolant had leaked into the cylinder and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, a large amount of white smoke with a bluish hue began to emit from the exhaust pipe without warning. The contact then took the vehicle to McLarty Ford (3232 Summerhill Rd, Texarkana, TX 75503) where the mechanic informed her that coolant had been leaking into the oil reservoir and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact then drove the vehicle to her father's home and the next day, the vehicle failed to start after multiple attempts. The contact had the vehicle towed to Elliott Ford (2055 Burton Rd, Mt Pleasant, TX 75455) where they confirmed that the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that there were no recalls on the vehicle. No further assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V469000 (SERVICE BRAKES, SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 38,000.

  While driving the vehicle on a major roadway in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, my vehicle suddenly stopped! It would not move forward or backwards. This was a definite safety issue and fortunately, the only cars around me were in the left and right lanes. I was in the middle lane and fortunately there was not a car directly behind me, or it would have run right into me. My vehicle went from travelling at 60 miles per hour to a complete standstill. My car is currently in Monroeville Ford right now for the same problem. This is after having the transmission replaced twice and having the engine replaced. The thing that is alarming is that was a safety issue and I, along with others could have been killed. It was only by the grace of God that other vehicles weren't behind me when my vehicle suddenly stopped.

  I am reporting a repeated transmission failure involving my 2017 Ford Edge (VIN: [XXX] ). The vehicle has had multiple transmission replacements performed by an authorized Ford dealership (Barbara Dyson Ford). Each replacement has been faulty, and the most recent transmission is now failing again. The vehicle currently has worsening transmission issues, making it unreliable and unsafe to drive. The problem continues despite repeated repairs, indicating a pattern failure rather than a one-time defect. I rely on this vehicle to transport my child to ongoing medical and specialist appointments. Due to the repeated transmission failures, the vehicle cannot be depended on for essential transportation. I have contacted Ford Consumer Affairs but have received no resolution or follow-up. I am reporting this issue due to safety concerns and repeated unsuccessful repair attempts.   My car had a check engine light on and I took it to the dealership to get it checked out and they said that coolant had leaked into cylinder 2 causing misfire and the whole engine needed replaced. The ford rep said it’s a common issue know with that specific engine. Coolant is very flammable and could’ve very easily started an engine fire.

  CAR HAS 69,000 MILES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON. WAS TOLD A NEW ENGINE IS NEEDED BECAUSE COOLANT IS LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDERS. THOUSANDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINT AND NOW WE ARE TOLD WE NEED A NEW ENGINE ON A CAR THAT IS BARELY THREE YEARS OLD AND OF COURSE OUT OF WARRANTY. WHY HAS NOT ONE THING BEEN DONE TO RESOLVE THIS WITH FORD. HAD WE KNOWN WE WERE BUYING A LEMON WE WOULD HAVE NEVER PURCHASED THIS VECHICLE. FORD KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING TO RECTIFY THE DEFECT IN THE PRODUCT THEY PUT OUT ON THE MARKET.   I have a 2017 Ford Edge with a 2.0 Ecoboost motor that was recently diagnosed (by Ford) as needing a new engine due to Coolant Intrusion into cylinder #4. The car has only 57,000 miles and is said to have a known manufacturing defect that causes this. Fortunately I reported this issue to the dealer before it got too severe; however I've been told that the car can catch on fire due to overheating or stop altogether on the freeway because of this issue. From what I've also read Ford has numerous cars equipped with this engine and have thousands of complaints regarding it, though they refuse to do anything to remedy the situation. I therefore would like to report the situation to the NHTSA out of an abundance of caution for myself, family, and other motorists that could be impacted by this.

The mechanic determined that the engine needed to be replaced and related the failure to TSB Number: 22-2229. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

  On 08/17/22 I took my car into Bill Collins because there was a loss of coolant, and my SUV was acting up. It was jerking randomly. At the time the SUV was noted to have 63,860 miles. Dealership fixed recalls on vehicle and did a pressure test and said there was a water pump leak. Replaced water pump and gasket. Check engine light remained on and when asked dealership about it they said in order to get the check engine light off it would have to go to another part of the dealership, and we would be charged another $99 diagnostic fee. On 11/21/22 SUV was taken back to Bill Collins because it was still doing the same thing. This time you could also hear water moving/draining from behind the dash and the check engine light was still on. Dealership fixed another recall showing on vehicle and said that the water pump had air pocket. Sent home but sputtering engine was not fixed. 12/08/22 contacted dealership again to let them know that nothing they have done over the past several months has worked and SUV is still acting up. Was told they would have a higher up mechanic look at vehicle to see what the issue was. Dealership contacted us two days later stating that vehicle needs a new motor. Current mileage 67,883. Dealership stated they verified coolant intrusion into cylinder and that it is necessary to replace the long block. Exact verbiage from dealership employee. (Coolant intrusion into cylinder #2. Verified defective engine block. Coolant leaking internally.) My SUV has been in and out of Bill Collins Ford for the past 4 months and no one could figure out the problem. Yet, when we spoke to Bill Collins about the new motor, we were told at that time that this is a known issue. Yet, no one mentioned it for 4 months and I've been driving my vehicle in this condition? I work for Ford and have supported Ford for the past 7 years. I am wanting to understand how Ford is going to make this right.

  While driving on August 8, 2021, I heard a pop on my 2071 Ford Edge panoramic tempered glass roof. I subsequently found a crack/break when I was cleaning the glass roof. I notified the Ford Dealership (FD) (Lithia Ford of Fresno California) on my next oil change on December 15, 2021. Based on my ocular inspection the crack/break appears to emanate from a bubble in the tempered glass roof as opposed to FD’s opinion that object impact caused the cracking. In my online research, cracking, popping and even exploding without impact have happened to tempered automotive glasses have occurred across different vehicle models across different vehicle manufacturers. The presence of bubbles in the manufacturing process have caused weak points across the surfaces of many tempered automotive glass resulting in cracking, breaking, popping and exploding. When this occurs, vehicle occupants as well as other moving motorists could be injured. The tempered automotive glass that exhibit bubbles should not be installed by vehicle manufacturers like Ford. Intensified quality control of tempered automotive glass should be done by vehicle manufacturers before these are installed. Tempered panoramic glass roofing ( sunroof & moonroof) found with bubbles that are installed in all vehicles should be inspected and replaced if necessary to prevent injury to vehicle occupants and moving motorists.

  The vehicle has low mileage, but the 3rd cylinder wall has a crack that is causing coolant to be leaked into the engine and therefore, the long block/engine needs to be immediately replaced. This is a major safety hazard which can cause the engine to stop at any time, even while driving on the highway, which a major safety issue and hazard. The certified mechanics say that the long block part was manufactured too thin and is causing major safety and mechanical problems and shared Ford needs to recall and replace the long block as this is a common problem and major safety issue with this vehicle as research has shown.

There was an abnormal odor of coolant being distributed through the vents. The contact was able to pull over and noticed that the temperature gauge was past high. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was like Technical Service Bulletin: 19-2346 and 19-2208. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who determined related the failure to DTC: P0302 - Cylinder #2 misfire was detected. The spark plugs and ignition coils were replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that coolant was leaking into the engine, and an engine replacement was recommended. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, opened a case, and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The approximate failure mileage was 55,908.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal depressed to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle approximately 5 MPH to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the driver's side front flexible brake line had ruptured and was leaking brake fluid. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The contact stated that it was the second failure of a flexible brake line, but the first failure had occurred on the rear passenger’s side brake line. The contact stated that the first failure had occurred in 2024. The contact had not yet received the recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V544000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) in 2024. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

  Check engine light started coming on for a cylinder 3 misfire at around 105,000 miles. Brought to mechanic to diagnose. Replaced ignition coils and spark plugs. The check engine light came on again with the same issue. Coolant also was running low. Brought to Ford dealership who scoped the number 3 cylinder. Dealership Confirmed that coolant was intruding into the engine and that a new engine block would be required as a remedy. This is a well known defect on Ford Ecoboost engines that they have issued recalls for in the past, albeit for smaller liter engines and not the 2.0

  ON 12/12/2020 I WAS DRIVING APPROX. 25 MPH WHEN MY LOW BRAKE FLUID WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY BRAKED TO GET OFF THE MAIN ROAD. MY CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN ENOUGH AS I WAS PULLING INTO A PARKING LOT. I HIT A CURB, POPPED MY FRONT TIRE AND MY CAR FINALLY STOPPED. UPON INSPECTION BY AAA, IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BRAKE LINE WAS LEAKING. CAR WAS TOWED HOME. ON MONDAY 12/14/2020, I SPOKE WITH FORD WHO TOWED MY 2017 FORD EDGE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THERE ARE NO PARTS AVAILABLE AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE LETTER I RECEIVED IN SEPT. 2020 STATED THAT THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE AND TO CONTINUE DRIVING THE CAR. FORD WOULD CONTACT ME WHEN THE PART CAME IN - APPROX. Q1 2021. AT THIS POINT, I'M WITHOUT A CAR AND COULD HAVE INJURED MYSELF, SISTER AND 3 KIDS BECAUSE AN ISSUE FORD IS AWARE OF AND HAS NO ESTIMATED DATE TO FIX.

  2017 Ford Edge Titanium, 2.0L with 6F35 Transmission, ~70kmiles, owner has all service records. After routine service at Ford dealership ([XXX]), oil and filter change, inspection and coolant replacement; Owner noticed upon driving home that the car would try to stall when placed into gear, then shudder and buck until the throttle was nudged and the car would start moving (forward or backward). Owner promptly returned car to the dealer. A service advisor replicated the problem and took the car into the shop where it remained for 3 days for testing and diagnostics. The mechanics diagnosis (uploaded in attachment) is that the torque converter is in a constant locked state and that something was "bad" in the transmission and likely a torque converter failure. The shop estimated $9,138.33 to repair. Owner declined the excessive repair cost and limped the car home and into owner's garage where it currently sits awaiting some resolution. As this transmission has been the subject of prior recalls, owner believes the recall should be expanded to include this vehicle. Also noted, this transmission has been and may still be the subject of active litigation. Note: an extended warranty the owner had purchased with the car when new, expired just 4 months prior.   The coolant is leaking into the motor causing an overheating issue that cuts power to the engine while driving. This is a large problem that may go unreported but Ford did change the design years down the road to help fix the issue but will not take responsibility.

  There is a crack in the block that is causing coolant to leak into the cylinder. This is a very common issue with these motors and should have been recalled a long time ago

  I bought my 2017 ford edge titanium last year back in dec of 2023. Well she had about 124k miles on it when i got it. Well theres almost 170 k miles on it now and i been very thorough with my maintenance. Transmission fluid, spark plus etc. Well im workin in tulsa one night and drop someone off and begin to hear this rattle noise. Well im an 1hr 30 mins away from hime so im prayin that i get back hime safely. Well i make it back. I take it to my mechanic and he said it sounds like your flex plate is bad or cracked. Well my understanding is other 2017 ford edges with my 2.0 engine and 6f35 transmission has a torque converter stud bolts weld problem recall. Apparently thats what could be causing my flex plate to crack all of a sudden. Just the only thing listed under my vin is a csp. To me if the torque conver weld stud bolts werent welded or tightened right at the factory i feel like that should be on fords end to cover the repair vs regular wear and tear. Like my way of explaining is say you borrow something from someone and you break it. They shouldnt be liable if its your mistake? True? I dont want no lawsuit. I just want ford to fix the issue with my car that their defect caused. Many blessings and Merry Christmas and thanks a million.

  AFTER 37000 MILES MESSAGE STATED BATTERY WAS LOW. THEN LOST POWER STEERING. I STOPPED CAR AND IT HAD TO BE PUSHED OFF TO SIDE. ANOTHER CAR JUMPED ME AND CAR STARTED. STARTED DRIVING AND LOST POWER STEERING. CAR WAS JUMP STARTED AGAIN. DROVE SHORT DISTANCE. HAPPENED AGAIN UNTIL I GOT HOME. HELP.

  Driving my car this year in April 2023. My car overheated while driving. I pulled over and checked the coolant it was bone dry, thankfully I had more in my car which I refilled. I brought my car to a friend that was a mechanic and he told me my coolant was leaking into the cylinder. I brought it to the Ford dealership to confirm his findings. I was told the same thing along with I need a nrw engine. I bought the car in Feb 2021 paid 17,000. It had 75000 miles on it. I haven't been able to get it repaired I was quoated around $5600. Ford has thousands of unhappy consumers in the same situation with needing a new engine. Ford will not do a recall and they kept selling cars with faulty engines. 2015-2018 Ford Edge and other models. This is not fair to thier customers!!!!!

  PURCHASED THIS 2017 FORD EDGE TITANIUM AWD AS A DEMO FROM TOWN AND COUNTRY FORD IN LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY. VEHICLE HAD 5800 MILES. THE VEHICLE STAYS GARAGED AT MY HOME ADDRESS. I WAS PULLING THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE GARAGE INTO THE DRIVEWAY AND THERE WAS NOTHING AT ALL NEAR THE VEHICLE. I LOOKED INTO THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED WHAT LOOKED LIKE A PUDDLE OF WATER ON THE REAR PART OF THE SUNROOF. I GOT OUT OF THE EDGE TO FIND THAT THERE WAS A LARGE CRACK THROUGH THE REAR STATIONARY PART OF THE SUNROOF.

  When got into a fender bender, originally it was just the bumper. After a wheel, there was a noise coming from the car when idling. Once taken in for repair, repair company stated it was the AC fan that was the problem which was not done by the crash but elsewhere. After taking the place to three other shops, first being the repair company, the second being Ford Motors, which both told me it was okay to drive my car, the last shop confirmed that it was the flywheel and not the AC fan that was broke, and I shouldn't be driving my car. After my car was fixed, out of pocket, I get sent the recall information letter in June for Ford Motors to fix this problem in February.

  HEADLIGHTS ARE INADEQUATE. THEY ARE TOO DARK FOR NIGHT DRIVING. THEY DO NOT ADEQUATELY AND SAFETY ILLUMINATE THE ROAD. AUTONATION FORD IN ST PETERSBURG, FL DOES NOT ADMIT THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH THE PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN AND IS WELL DOCUMENTED.

  THE TAIL LIGHT REFLECTOR HAS MAJOR CONDENSATION PROBLEMS. THIS PROBLEM IS CAUSING WATER TO SIT AND OVER TIME ALGAE HAS FORMED. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG 2015-2018 FORD EDGE MODELS. THIS CAN BE A SAFETY ISSUE ONCE ALGAE HAS FORMED DUE TO THE LACK OF VISIBILITY OF REVERSE TAIL LIGHTS BEING SEEN.

  The contact owns a 2017 Ford Edge. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the vehicle stalled and there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine compartment, with white smoke coming out of the exhaust pipe. Additionally, there was an abnormal odor coming from the inside of the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that there was coolant intrusion into the engine and that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact researched and was made aware of Technical Service Bulletin Number: 19-2346. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.
