While driving I experienced the wheel becoming more stiff unexpectedly while turning even slightly it would randomly get harder to turn. A power steering warning came on saying to be careful and right after the car started shaking really bad. Stop the car checked tires tie rods sway bar other steering components and nothing seemed abnormal. Was able to drive the rest of the way home but still had the random stiffness at the steering wheel.

2017 CAMARO PURCHASED CAR ON FEBRUARY 2017; RECENTLY MY CAR HAS BEEN SHOWING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVERY TIME I GO OVER A SPEEDBUMP OR POT HOLE OR ANYTHING. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WILL GO AWAY IN A DAY OR TWO AFTER THAT. THE THIRD TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON, I GOT A READING DONE AT AUTOZONE, SHOWED IT WAS TRANSMISSION FLUIDS OR TRANSMISSION SENSOR. FEW DAYS AFTER THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED OFF AND TOOK IT TO ED BOZARTH, WHERE I PURCHASED MY CAR, SERVICE DEPARTMENT. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS UNABLE TO DETECT FOR A WHOLE WEEK FROM 11/24/2020 TO 11/30/2020 WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR. THEY FINALLY GOT BACK TO ME AND STATED MY CAR IS READING P0711 FOR TRANSMISSION FLUID SENOR PERFORMANCE AND THEY NEED TO REPLACE TWO TRANSMISSION HARNESS. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT IS NOT SURE HOW IT HAPPEN OR WHAT CAUSED IT. I BELIEVE THIS COULD BE PART OF THE SERVICE BULLETIN:15111 SPECIAL COVERAGE.

- 11/13/2025· STEERING,POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I would like to report a safety concern with my car having a strong shuddering or vibration, including the steering wheel which I’m unable to move. When this happens RPM remain below 3000 rpm as if the the gears were having trouble changing, the shaking remains while driving in the city at around 25-35 mph and highway speeds at around 65-76 mph. My car was under warranty when this started happening, the dealership flushed and replaced the transmission fluid and it took care of the problem for about 2000 miles (GM has several bulletins in regards to the “shake” on different model vehicles since 2014). When the shuddering returned, I returned to the freedom Chevrolet where I bought the vehicle (actual mileage 53768) and explained the shuddering returning. I was advised to leave the car which now has been at the dealership for months and they refuse to fix the problem stating it is out of warranty. I provided all the bulletins I found on related issue which GM has stated they fix the problem by swapping the transmission on new cars but nothing has been done on the cars that have the existing problem because “there is no recall” as the service advisor stated. This problem could’ve been resolved when I took the car the first time but I wasn’t aware of the severity of the problem or that I would have so much trouble with the dealership now. All I asked is to honor the warranty as the issue was brought up when the vehicle was still under warranty and has less than 60,000 miles.

2017 CAMARO ZL1 MANUAL THIS IS SPECIFIC FOR THIS CAR MODEL. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THROTTLE RESPONSE WHEN MOVING OUT OF A STOP. ENGINE STALLS AND RPM COMES BACK AFTERWARD VERY HIGH. THIS IS DANGEROUS ON CROSS ROAD STOPS AND STOP LIGHTS. HAD FEW EVENTS THE CAR WOULD ALMOST STALL AND BE IN A DANGEROUS PLACE IN THE ROAD WITH UPCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS PROBLEM CAN CAUSE A COLLISION. IT REQUIRES NEW IGNITION TIMING PROGRAMMING OF THE ECU. CHEVROLET IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE FOR A LONG TIME AND HAS NOT ISSUED ANY FIXES YET.

WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A STOP, AT NORMAL SPEED, THE ENGINE BOGS AND ALMOST STALLS. THIS REQUIRES A RE APPLICATION OF THE CLUTCH AND MORE THROTTLE TO PREVENT STALLING. THIS HAPPENS ALMOST DAILY. IT HAS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A DRIVEWAY AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING WITH A CLUTCH FOR OVER 30 YEARS ON BOTH CARS AND MOTORCYCLES. THERE IS A REAL PROBLEM WITH THE TORQUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ON THIS CAR. AS I'M DRIVING AT 55MPH OR HIGHER, ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF AND COMES RIGHT BACK ON AND ALL YOU SEE ARE ALL THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS TURN ON AND OFF ALL AT ONCE WHICH IS SCARY BECAUSE WHEN THAT HAPPENS, YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OF THE CAR BECAUSE ONCE THE CAR SHUTS OFF, FOR THAT ONE OR TWO SECONDS IT DOES THIS YOU HAVE NO CONTROL AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS ON YOU. THE CAR WILL ALSO NOT ALLOW YOU TO PRESS ON THE GAS PEDDLE TO MAKE THE SPEED GO UP, AT TIME WHEN I DEPRESS THE GAS PEDDLE, THE CAR HESITATES AND DOES NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT ACCELERATES AT A VERY HIGH SPEED WITHOUT YOU CONTROLLING IT.
- 11/02/2017· POWER TRAIN,ENGINE
THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION BOGS IN FIRST GEAR UNDER AGGRESSIVE ACCELERATION FROM A STANDING START. THIS MOST OFTEN OCCURS WHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE ALMOST STALL ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IWHEN PULLING OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I BELIEVE THE CAUSE IS EXCESSIVE TORQUE MANAGEMENT IN THE VEHICLE'S ECU PROGRAM.

MY CAR HAS BEEN HAVING A LOT OF VIBRATIONS, SPUTTERING, RUMBLING WHILE DRIVING. ESPECIALLY WHEN SPEEDING UP. IT HAPPENS WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL ALSO. I TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE TORQUE CONVERTER. THEY FLUSHED THE SYSTEM AND SAID IT SHOULD CLEAR UP AFTER 200 MILES WITH THE NEW FLUID THEY REPLACED. I TOOK IT BACK BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN OVER 500 MILES AND IS STILL HAPPENING. I WAS TOLD ALL THEY CAN DO IS REPLACE THE FLUID AGAIN FOR NOW UNTIL THEY FIX THE PROBLEM. WHY ARE THEY NOT ABLE TO REPLACE THE TORQUE CONVERTER NOW BEFORE IT CAUSES MORE INTENSIVE DAMAGE? I AM AFRAID AS IT GETS WORSE I WILL BE BROKEN DOWN ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH A CAR THAT IS IN WORSE REPAIR THAN IT SHOULD BE.

I have found one 106 complaints on your site since Sept 21, 2021. The issue at hand is either a faulty torque converter and transmission. I have also found several hundred reports on the internet. Got trapped inside the car in 100 degree weather plus humidity. The car started the whole and operated perfectly fine while a message prompted on the dash. After doing a push to start that morning before work. The car runs for 10mins until it shuts off. That morning closed myself in to get ready to head to work. Remote not detected prompted. It said it three times that day. The last time it said it I was heading home after getting food. After a push to start that’s when it trapped me inside. Called 911 in Rocky Mount Nc. All they were worried about is a OnStar button. If I had to wait on them probably would’ve been dead. Cause they have to ask a multitude of questions. Rescuers never came. While OnStar was on speaker I thought to check to see if I had the app available to unlock the doors. Usually I don’t pay the bill for it thought the remote way was better. Due to the fact that the app takes a while to upload and could update at anytime as well as signal issues in certain places. Luckily it was setup on autopay. Although it did take a little while to load I was kind of at ease knowing OnStar was still on the speaker. Spoke with a Gm specialist about doing a recall. Instead expressed that, that’s if my vehicle is even eligible for an upgrade. Had suggested the installation of physical unlock levers instead they ignored the suggestion. This is a deadly safety hazard not only for myself but for others as well. Especially if they are not alert about it. When I found that the key fob wasn’t rechargeable inside the vehicle after being trapped inside it. I bought a battery from the Chevy company that was brand new but still a dead battery. Which caused me not to be able to start the vehicle at all. The only thing that help was recharging the battery on the Apple Watch charger by removing the battery from the key fob. Not everyone knows that and still isn’t a good and or safe reliable method to use cause of uncertainty of battery life. Let the car go back for this reason.
