  MY 2016 NISSAN SENTRA HAS ALWAYS SKIPPED SOME, ACTED LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO GO, BUT THE OTHER DAY, WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS, IT WOULDN'T GO. THIS WAS AS I WAS RIDING DOWN THE ROAD. AT TIMES, THE GAS PEDAL WOULD ACCELERATE SOME, BUT THEN THE CAR WOULD START JERKING. TO MAKE IT HOME, I HAD TO ACCELERATE, COAST, TRY THE GAS PEDAL AGAIN, AND COAST SOME MORE. NO ENGINE, OR WARNING LIGHTS EVER CAME UP ON THE DASH.

  This 2016 Nissan Sentra has parasitic battery draining. There is a great safety issue in not having a ready vehicle for emergency situations. I am also not confident the vehicle will start when away from home. The highest grade AGM battery was purchased to replaced the original battery to no avail. The vehicle requires continuous jump starts. Alternator appears to be functioning according to testing.

  The problem with the car is that after a stop sign, the car no longer moved forward, it stayed in the road, this was blocking traffic and it was dangerous to get out of the car, the tow truck arrived to move it from the road, several mechanics examined it and said that the transmission was damaged, the car has only traveled 78,140 miles.

  PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SINCE I PURCHASED CAR IN 10/2016 TIL PRESENT. IT IS INTERMITTENT. WHEN INITIATING A RIGHT TURN FROM STATIONARY 0 SPEED AND WHILE ON THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR DOES NOT MOVE. Per multiple reports this could cause the car not to start or to indicate to cars that the vehicle is slowing down and preparing to stop Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Back in 2019 I was having this issue and in 2020 took it to a Nissan dealership to have it looked into and repaired (Unknowingly that there was a recall for this specific issue) Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? After experiencing this years ago I knew what steps needed to be taken in order to have this resolved. This started to happen again on the night of 12/15/24

THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND RESTART THE VEHICLE AND SAFELY DRIVE HOME. THE DEALER MCDONOUGH NISSAN (1775 AVALON PARKWAY, MCDONOUGH, GA 30253, (770) 282-5077) STATED THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WAS ACTIVE UP TO 84,000 FOR ISSUE THAT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH THE TRANSMISSION. A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WAS PERFORMED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER CONFIRMED THAT THE WARRANTY WAS GOOD UP TO 84,000 MILES. ADDITIONALLY, THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT A LETTER WAS MAILED TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY COVERAGE FOR THE TRANSMISSION HOWEVER, THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED THE LETTER. THE MANUFACTURER CALLED THE CONTACT BACK AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY HELP. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.

  My 2016 Nissan Sentra malfunctioned while driving on the Highway three separate times. The car suddenly lost its ability to accelerate and seemed to power down while becoming more difficult to steer. It seemed to start shuddering and I thought it may have been a front end flat tire. After pulling off the road and putting the car in park, when I waited a minute or two, I placed the car in drive and there was no problem until a month later and it hppended again except on an interstate while driving over a long bridge. Two different Nissan dealers could not diagnose any issues and kind of threw up theirs hands with no suggestions except to bring it in again if it happens once more. The auto has become hazardous to drive for two seniors, and no one seems to be able to diagnose or fix the issues. I read online about Nissan CVT transmission recalls for these Sentras, but never received any recall notifications.

  Ive took my car to alhambra dealer for a recall and before I did i scared my car with the obd2 to make sure everything was okay witch it scanned no check engine and all green check lights IM REDINESS..   When driving, the transmission jumps all the time when accelerating. Also, when driving at speeds over 70 miles per hour, the tachometer jumps up and down like the transmission is not pulling and then starts pulling. This is very dangerous with the slippery weather we have in Wisconsin. The car seems to lose power completely at these speeds as well. This happens every time I drive it. The last time I dorve it was 11/25/22 because it seems too dangerous. Thank you!

  The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle erratically jerked and the vehicle stalled. The contact noticed an abnormal whining sound. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with transmission failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that days later, while attempting to start the vehicle, the gear shifter was shifted into reverse and the engine seized. The contact stated that the vehicle was inoperable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 163,000.

  My Nissan Sentra 2016 lost power for the first time back in 2020 while driving and i was unable to accelerate properly. I was so concerned because i was driving while the incidents happened. The car was taken to the Nissan dealership for inspection and they said that the transmission was the problem. No repairs were performed. On November 2022 the car suddenly lost power for the second time and i was unable to properly accelerate while driving it on the highway. No warning lamps showed before it failed. They appear after the car losses power.

  Replaced catylc converter. No the car is power surging and slipping, took vehicle to my regular auto shop. They reported car needs a new transmission, the CVT is out. Took car to transmission specialist for a second opinion said the same thing. Both shops reported this is common for this make and model. I'd thought I should report it.

  I purchased this vehicle from Capital Auto Auction, and it was listed as having only a “minor engine stutter” and that it “runs and drives.” However, within 5 minutes of driving away from the auction, the vehicle became unsafe and experienced multiple immediate safety failures. The vehicle developed a loud whining noise, lost acceleration, and would not move even with the accelerator pressed. The check engine light and red battery light came on immediately even though these warnings were not disclosed at the auction listing. The car became unable to drive and created a hazardous situation in traffic. I had to call AAA roadside assistance, and the vehicle had to be towed. A Nissan dealership inspected the vehicle and documented that it has serious safety and drivability concerns, including likely transmission failure and possible electrical system tampering. When attempting to diagnose the vehicle, the OBD2 diagnostic port would not power on, which indicates a potential electrical wiring issue or fuse failure. I also discovered signs that the electrical system may have been tampered with prior to the sale, including a blown fuse and wiring abnormalities. The vehicle shows multiple unsafe conditions: * Loss of acceleration in traffic * Sudden transmission failure * Electrical malfunction * Dashboard warning lights not previously disclosed * Diagnostic port not functioning * Battery warning light activation * Car becoming undriveable within minutes of use These issues were not disclosed at the time of purchase and present clear safety hazards, as the vehicle could not accelerate or maintain speed in traffic. I am filing this complaint to report the unsafe condition of the vehicle and the immediate failure that occurred right after purchase. This poses a danger not only to the driver but to other motorists on the road.

LONG STORY SHORT THEY TOLD ME TO GO BACK TO OHIO WHERE THE CAR CAME SINCE IT LOOK LIKE THE BUT ON AFTERMARKET DRUM ON THE CAR. THEY DID NOT HELP ME AT ALL. BUT I SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE REGARDING THEY HAD TO GET THE C-CLIP FIX AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY.

  The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated that while at a complete stop, the vehicle stalled upon the depression of the accelerator pedal without warning. Due to the failure, the contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic who informed her of a class-action lawsuit that had been filed against Nissan's CVT transmissions. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed her that she no longer qualified for the warranty extension for the transmission. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 113,000.

  I was driving the car and leaving a red light. The car lost power, abs light came on and the traction light came on. I was unable to turn and move out of traffic. The vehicle was destroyed. The vehicle was towed to the tow lot. The dealer was not contacted. The contact contacted an independent mechanic and informed them that the vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 21v135000 ( exterior lights). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a reference number. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.

  WE BOUGHT A 2016 NISSAN SENTRA IN MARCH OF 2018. I TOOK IT IN COMPLAINING OF A WHINING NOISE A FEW MONTHS AFTER HAVING IT AND WAS TOLD BECAUSE THEY DON'T SEE OR FEEL ANYTHING THERE IS NOTHING TO BE DONE. NOW IN NOVEMBER THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS REPLACED. IT PUNCHES WHEN YOU GO TO TAKE OFF, FEELS LIKE IT IS LOSING POWER WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, DIFFICULT ACCELERATING, JERKS WHILE DRIVING, SHIFTS ON ITS OWN FROM ABOUT 1.5 RPM UP TO 3 WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, AND NISSAN SAID IT IS OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE I AM OVER 60,000 MILES (MY MILEAGE IS AT ABOUT 64,000 MILES). IT'S GOING TO COST $4500 TO REPLACE IT ACCORDING TO NISSAN. THE DOOR HANDLE COMES OFF AND IT HAS TO BE PUSHED BACK IN, THE SIDE VIEW MIRRORS WHISTLE WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY.

  CAR WAS BOUGHT BRAND NEW AND AT 64K MILES TRANSMISSION FAILED. VEHICLE STARTED TO SHAKE ON ACCELERATION THEN IT WOULD JUST SHUT DOWN ON THE FREEWAY OR WHEN PARKED. WHEN THE CAR WAS IN PARK OR STOPPED AT A LIGHT IT WOULD ALSO START SHAKING AND SHUT DOWN. ACCELERATION WAS ALSO VERY SLOW EVEN WHEN FLOORING THE GAS PEDAL THE CAR WOULD NOT GO BEYOND 20-40 MPH.

  In the event of an accident this vehicle doors will not open until the key is in the off position and removed from the ignition. You cannot exit the vehicle doors at any time when the motor is running or the key is still in the ignition. Death trap !
