- AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATIONCampaign 16V244000 · 26/04/2016
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.
Risk: If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.
Fix: Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.
- FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP:CONTROL/DRIVE MODULECampaign 25V676000 · 09/10/2025
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2021 NV200 Van, 2014-2017, 2019 NV200 Taxi, and 2015-2018 Chevrolet City Express vehicles. The Fuel Tank Temperature (FTT) sensor harness may have been incorrectly routed, damaging wires and causing a short circuit in the fuel pump fuse.
Risk: A blown fuel pump fuse can cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will inspect and reroute the FTT sensor harness or replace the fuel pump assembly as necessary, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed January 2, 2026. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 800-647-7261. Nissan's number for this recall is PMA56. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov October 10, 2025.

- 12/16/2024· AIR BAGS
The red dash airbag light began flashing continuously approximately 4 months ago. I took it to a neighborhood automobile repair shop where the problem was diagnosed. They explained that only a Nissan dealership could make the repair. I took the car to Reliable Nissan in Albuquerque, NM on October 1, 2024. I was told the parts (98856-9SE0A Controller Assy-Occupant Sensor, and 98853-3JACA Sen-Occupant) would need to be ordered with a dealer-provided ETA of October 17, 2024. I paid $752.77 for the parts ordered on October 1, 2024. I was called back to the dealership for the repairs and was told the wrong parts were shipped and that I would have to come back when the correct parts arrived. They had no ETA for the correct parts arrival. I have reached out to the dealership and the Nissan National Consumer Affairs department. I have had six interactions with the National Consumer Affairs department. Each time I'm told there is NO ETA for the OSA sensor. I believe this is a safety concern. In one conversation with the Consumer Affairs Dept. I was told there is not enough demand currently to actually manufacture the part. I would think that customer safety would constitute adequate demand. I also worry that the cost to manufacture the part will increase by the time it is actually manufactured. I will still need to pay approximately $750.00 for labor to install the parts when they are finally manufactured and delivered. Assistance with encouraging manufacture of this part is requested.
- 12/04/2020· SEAT BELTS
THE SEAT BELTS IN THE BACK DO NOT ALWAYS REWIND WHEN PULLED ALL THE WAY OUT TO INSTALL CHILD SAFETY SEATS. SO WHEN YOU PULL THE BELT OUT ALL THE WAY TO FEED IT THROUGH THE SAFETY SEAT, THE BELTS DO NOT RETRACT. YOU HAVE TO GO BEHIND THE SEAT INTO THE MECHANISM AND MANUALLY ROLL THE BELT BACK UP. THIS IS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS PARKED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V244000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. - 11/10/2021· STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
1. On September 9, 2021, my 2016 NV 200 suddenly and unexpectedly broke down in Gila Bend AZ on a trip from the Bay Area to Austin to visit my grandchild. After refueling and pulling back onto the road towards the Interstate 8 on-ramp, the vehicle suddenly died. It was extremely difficult to steer it towards the side of the road and the ignition was inoperable. 2. I was unable to get the vehicle completely off the road and semi's were honking at me because I was dangerously in their path. There could easily have been a collision. I called 911 and the Arizona State Troopers pushed it all the way onto the shoulder. I then had it towed to the Tempe Nissan dealership 3. The problem was diagnosed by Tempe Nissan. It appeared that the cause of the breakdown was a blown fuel pump fuse. They also replaced the battery. They attempted to do a wheel alignment but could not because the inner tie rod was bent so they also replaced the steering rack to bring the alignment back to factory specs. 4. It appears that the fuses and perhaps the fuel pump are defective, and that the locked steering led to the additional issues of the bent tie rod, steering rack and alignment, resulting in an unsafe and undrivable vehicle. 5. The vehicle and component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives. The vehicle is routinely inspected by my regular mechanic on pre & post trip checks. 6. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The vehicle has had zero issues prior to this failure. 7. The vehicle and components are available for inspection upon request. 8. For a vehicle that is less than 5 years old to suddenly and unexpectedly become inoperable resulted in a frightening and potentially fatal incident for which Nissan is responsible.

My passenger airbag warning light stays on even if someone is sitting in the seat and my airbag warning light on dash stays on. I ve had diagnostics run on vehicle and there are no codes. They don’t know what to fix to clear the lights. I can’t get my car inspected with the lights on so now I can’t drive it. There is a recall on this specific thing but Nissan says not for my van. Reference #NTB16-054 CAMPAIGNID#: R1607 NHTSA # 16V-244 It specifically states 2013-2016 nv200

I was hit while driving by another vehicle going 65 miles per hour. He hit me on the passenger side. Upon impact, all the airbags exploded shattering in thousands of pieces hitting me like shrapnels in my eyes, face, hands, neck, lungs. I was temporarily blinded, so I hit another car. I spent 10 days in the hospital. I have problems in my lungs, my eyes, lost my teeth, and I am scared for life.

THE REAR AIR CONDITIONING EVAPORATOR FAN DESIGN HAS NO AIR FILTER SO THE EVAPORATOR VANES BECOME CLOGGED WITH DUST AND DEBRIDE WITHIN A SHORT TIME CAUSING FAILURE OF THE SYSTEM AND THOUSAND OF DOLLARS IN REPAIR BILLS. ON THE INTERNET THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF DISATISFIED OWNERS BUT NO UNIFIED VOICE TO NISSAN TO DO A RECALL ON THIS ENGINEERING FLAW TO REPAIR THIS OBVIOUS DEFECT. WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH AND HAD NO USE OF THE AIRCONDITIONER THEN BUT WHEN IT HEATED UP IN DENVER WE REALIZED THE REAR AIR CONDITIONER FANS WERE NOT BLOWING HARD ENOUGH TO EVEN BE FELT. ON FURTHER READING I DISCOVERED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE.

AFTER PURCHASING THE 2016 NISSAN NV 3500 SL WE NOTICED AIR FLOW RESTRICTIONS IN THE BACK THREE ROWS, OUR FIRST WEEK OF OWNERSHIP. . THE FIRST ROW AIR CAN GET THEM BY DUE TO AIR IN THE FRONT BUT WITH HIGH TEMPS IN TEXAS IT'S NOT ENOUGH. OUR CHILDREN HAVE TO HAVE PORTABLE FANS IF WE GO ANYWHERE DURING THE DAY. IT GETS UP TO 100DEGREES IN THE BACK EVEN AFTER LETTING THE VAN "COOL" FOR THIRTY MINUTES. WE HAVE REACHED THE POINT WE ONLY USE OUR VAN EARLY MORNINGS AND LATE EVENINGS TO AVOID HEALTH CONCERNS WITH THE HEAT IN THE BACK THREE ROWS. THIS IS HAZARDOUS! NISSAN SHOULD DEFINITELY BE LOOKING INTO THIS. HEAT STROKE COULD HAPPEN WITH A CHILD. I HAVE ASKED MY DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND THEY WONT EVEN GET IT IN THE SHOP UNLESS I PAY A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. I'VE BEEN ASKING SINCE WE PICKED UP OUR PLATES. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD THAT EVEN UPON THE FIRST MONTH OF PURCHASING THEY WERE ALREADY HITTING US WITH UNFORTUNATELY ITS A DESIGN FLAW IF IT NEEDS TO BE LOOKED AT THERE WILL BE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. IF ONLY NISSAN WOULD HAVE SHARED THIS BEFORE PURCHASING WE NEVER WOULD HAVE BOUGHT OUR NV. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, HORRIBLE DESIGN. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. WE ARE AT THE POINT THE BACK TWO ROWS HARDLY HAVE ANY PRESSURE AT ALL & WITH HIGH TEMPS RIGHT NOW CAN'T EVEN USE OUR FAMILY VEHICLE. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS FOR THE PRICE WE ARE PAYING. I RECENTLY JOINED A FACEBOOK PAGE OF NISSAN NV OWNERS FROM ACROSS THE NATION/WORLD AND THIS SEEMS TO BE A ISSUE FOR ALOT OF PEOPLE NOT JUST US. NISSAN ADDRESS THIS ISSUE! THE AIR RESTRICTION TO THE THREE REAR ROWS IS CONSTANT AND HAS NO REGARDS TO MOTION, IDLING, TURNING, CITY OR HIGHWAY. THE LONGER YOU HAVE THE VAN THE AIR PRESSURE BECOMES LESS AND LESS. AT EVERY SERVICE I QUESTIONED THIS AND THE ADVISORS ALWAYS BRUSHED IT OFF AS A DESIGN FLAW & SAID ITS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY JUST BY FEELING THE AIR WITH THEIR HAND. NO.

CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, DIAGNOSED AS CATALYTIC CONVERTER FAILURE. LOCAL DEALERSHIP ADVISED TO REPLACE BOTH CONVERTERS AT $2500. NISSAN WOULD NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY AS IT CLAIMS CONVERTERS ARE COVERED UNDER EXHAUST/EMISSIONS WARRANTY AT 50K MILES. THE VEHICLE IS JUST UNDER 100K MILES.

While idling, the vehicle shutoff on it’s own and restarted. Then again while stopped at a red light and again while driving to a mechanic. No warnings or indications that this would happen. It put myself and children at risk because the roads are full of snow leaving us no place for us to pull over. Now the air pressure, windshield fluid and traction control lights are on, whereas they were not previously lit. I’m currently at an independent service center waiting for diagnosis. ***Update: The mechanic gave us the code which shows the crankshaft needs to be replaced.

FEEL HAVE A BRAKING PROBLEM WITH NV 3500 2016. IN NORMAL BRAKING SEEMS TO WORK WELL. IN HARD STOPS AND PANIC BRAKING PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR OR END OF TRAVEL. FEEL I MUST PUMP BRAKES TO GET MAXIMUM BRAKING AND A RETURN OF PEDAL. DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN REP. SAY THIS IS A NORMAL BRAKING FOR THE VEHICLE. I FEEL IF I HAVE TO PUMP THE PEDAL TO RETURN BRAKING POWER, I MIGHT HAVE A POTENTIAL SERIOUS PROBLEM. SO FAR NISSAN HAS TOLD ME MY BRAKES ARE NORMAL, WHICH I QUESTION?

THE AC AIR FLOW IN THE BACK OF THE VAN IS COMPLETELY INSUFFICIENT. THE AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENTS IS COOL, HOWEVER THE FLOW OF AIR IS SO LIGHT/SLOW, THE PASSENGERS IN THE BACK CANNOT FEEL IT. SINCE THE BACK WINDOWS DO NOT OPEN IT BECOMES SWELTERINGLY HOT. WE WORRY ABOUT OUR CHILDREN PASSING OUT/OVER HEATING BACK THERE. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN FOR US, AND MANY OTHERS. IT DOES NOT IMPROVE EVEN ONCE THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR A WHILE, AND IT DOES NOT IMPROVE EVEN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING.
