  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:HOSES/LINES/PIPING/FITTINGSCampaign 16V779000 · 26/10/2016

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles manufactured February 24, 2015, to August 30, 2016. A hose may separate from the engine oil cooler tube assembly causing an oil leak.

Risk: A sudden loss of engine oil may cause engine failure, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, an oil leak, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine oil cooler tube assembly, free of charge. The recall began on March 23, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S40.

  • SEAT BELTSCampaign 15V707000 · 26/10/2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2016 Ford Mustang vehicles manufactured September 26, 2015, to October 1, 2015. The front and rear seat belts and child seat tether anchors may have been damaged in shipping from the supplier to the vehicle assembly plant and may not adequately restrain the occupant in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection," and 225, "Child restraint anchorage systems."

Risk: If the restraint components do not function as intended, the occupants may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front and rear seat belt assemblies and the child seat tether anchors, free of charge. The recall began on December 18, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15C13.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and repair the decklid wiring harness and/or replace the rearview camera, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 23, 2022 and June 26, 2023. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 4th Quarter of 2022. • SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONERCampaign 25V614000 · 12/09/2025

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles. Water and road salt may corrode the front seat belt anchor pretensioner cables.

Risk: A corroded cable can break, preventing the seat belt from properly restraining an occupant, and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace both front seat belt anchor pretensioner assemblies, as necessary. In addition, dealers will remove sections of the carpet and underlayment that contact the cables. Dealers will also inspect the A-pillar sealing patches, and as necessary, install A-pillar body plugs, and/or inspect and replace the front outboard seat bolts. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed October 20, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated December 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S92. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov September 17, 2025.

  • 12/30/2021· ENGINE

Purchased the car around 40k miles. Did all the maintenance required for 3-4 years with it now at 98k miles. On the evening near Christmas eve as i was at the red light making a right turn i heard clank from the bottom of my engine, then metal pieces were falling off to the ground. Smoke was coming out from the engine, with the oil pressure illuminating light on. I pulled over to see a trail of oil, while looking under I saw a big whole on the bottom of the engine block. Good thing it didn't happened when I was driving at a higher speed and I was by myself vs having my kids with me. Geico would not cover my blown engine, and ford knows this is a known issue referring to "Ecoboom" but i no longer have warranty with them. Car has been sitting at the shop pending 6500 to have the engine replaced. With covid times we are living in right now i dont know what else to do.

  • 12/24/2025· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

On 12/06/2025 I filled the vehicle with gasoline. As I was driving home I noticd a strong odor of gasoline. When I arrived home I parked the car in my carport. A short time later I went outside and noticed that I could still smell gasoline and I looked under the car, which was approximately 3 feet from my house and saw a puddle under it. This could have caused a fire, so I immediately took the car to a repair shop. Approximately one hour later I received a call from the shop informing me that the tank was broken at the top and it would cost approximately $2,600 to replace the tank. The problem was confirmed by Gemba Automotive, Surprise, AZ. I am unaware of whether they have the part available for inspection. There were no warning messages or lights displayed on the driver information system.

The contact owned a 2016 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, a rattling sound was present and several unknown warning lights illuminated. In addition, the power steering did not function as intended and the steering seized. The contact stated that the vehicle was very difficult to steer. In addition, the contact stated that due to the failure, the vehicle veered off the road, went through the woods, and damaged 60 feet of ranch fencing. The vehicle was towed to a local tow yard. The contact sustained bumps and bruises. In addition, the contact stated that he now suffers from anxiety because of his fear of driving. A police report was filed, however the information was unavailable. The contact stated that when he visited the dealer to pick up the spare key, the dealer provided him with new suspension parts. WHILE DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET THE ENGINE WILL SHUTDOWN WITH NO WARNINGS. YOU START LOSING SPEED BUT ALL THE REST OF THE DASH LIGHTS AND ELECTRIC POWER STEERING CONTINUE TO WORK. There were no warning lamps or messages indicating the airbag was non-functional.

THE REAR DECK "GT" EMBLEM BROKE ON MY NEW CAR AND FELL OFF. I RETURNED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT REPLACED BECAUSE IT IS A NEW VEHICLE AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE EMBLEM WAS REPLACED AS WELL AS THE BACK DECK LID AND THE REVERSE CAMERA BECAUSE IT IS ALL ONE PIECE. AS I LEFT I NOTICED THAT THE NEW DECK LID DID NOT SEAL PROPERLY AND WATER COULD GET IN MY TRUNK SO I RETURNED TO THE SERVICE SHOP. AT THAT TIME I WAS TOLD BY AN ASSOCIATE THAT AN UPDATE WAS MADE TO THE SERVICE MANUAL AND A NEW "BUMPER PAD" WAS REQUIRED TO BE ADDED UNDER THE DECK LID THAT WAS PREVENTING IT FROM CLOSING PROPERLY. I TOLD THEM IT WAS UNACCEPTABLE AND IT NEEDED TO BE FIXED. THEY CONTINUED TO EXPLAIN IT WAS A FACTORY CHANGE AND WAS CORRECTED EXACTLY HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE ACCORDING TO THE NEW MANUAL UPDATES. THE LARGER PROBLEM IS THAT I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT I AM ACTIVE DUTY MILITARY AND WAS PICKING THE CAR UP TO DRIVE STRAIGHT TO MY NEW BASE. THEY STATED IT WAS NOT AN ISSUE AND I COULD HAVE MY LOCAL DEALER LOOK AT THE ITEM AND FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY. WELL, I AM NOW AT MY NEW LOCATION AND THE LOCAL DEALER STATED THERE IS NOT ANY UPDATES TO THE MANUAL FOR THEM TO ADD AN EXTRA BUFFER PAD AND THEY THE DECK LID THEY ADDED IS WARPED FROM THEM TRYING TO FORCE IT ON. HOWEVER, THE LOCAL DEALER CANNOT TOUCH IT BECAUSE IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY AT THE OTHER LOCATION AND THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE. NOW THEY WANT ME TO DRIVE IT BACK 490 MILES ONE WAY TO HAVE THEM FIX IT WHEN THEY FIRST LIED TO ME ABOUT WHAT WAS DONE AND THEN ALSO TOLD ME I COULD BRING IT TO A LOCAL SHOP BECAUSE THE MILITARY MOVED ME AND THE WARRANTY WOULD STILL COVER IT. THEY NEED TO PAY WHAT EVER THEY NEED TO THE LOCAL DEALER SO I CAN HAVE MY NEW CAR REPAIRED SINCE THEY MESSED IT UP AND THEN LIED TO ME. MALL OF GEORGIA FORD IS WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THE SAME SERVICE DEPARTMENT THAT LIED TO ME.

BEFORE SIGNING DOCUMENTS, THE PURCHASE PRICE OF THE CAR WAS ADVERTISED AT 45,900. [XXX] INDICATED THE PRICE WAS ADVERTISED WRONG AND WAS AT 47,500. [XXX] STATED TO MAKE UP THE PRICE DIFFERENCE, HE WAS GOING TO TINT THE WINDOWS AND ADD PAINT PROTECTION. LAST MONTH I ATTEMPTED TO MAKE A CLAIM LAST MONTH FOR THE SWIRL MARKS AND FADING ON BUMPERS AND BREMBO BRAKES. WELL, AUTONATION INDICATED I DID NOT HAVE THE PAINT PROTECTION WARRANTY. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT MO, AND [XXX], GENERAL SALES MANAGER OF AUTONATION, NO RESPONSE. THERE ARE OTHER COMPLAINTS, BUT THIS IS WHAT PUT IT OVER THE TOP. DURING SIGNING OF THE CONTRACT, THEY UP SOLD ME 6000 DOLLARS OF VARIES WARRANTIES. BY THE TIME I CAME HOME TO READ THE DOCUMENTS, I CANCELED ALL THE WARRANTIES. IT TOOK AUTONATION 2 MONTHS TO FIX THE DOCUMENTS AND AUTONATION STATED WE COULD NOT REMOVE WINDSHIELD INSURANCE. I STILL PAID 700 JUST TO GET THE DOCUMENTS IN ORDER. NOT ONLY THAT, [XXX] STATED MY BREMBO BRAKES SQUEAK BECAUSE THEY ARE "HIGH PERFORMANCE", HE DIDN'T FIX THE SQUEAK EVEN WHEN I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK WHEN IT WAS TINTED. THE ECOBOOST MUSTANGS ARE INCREDIBLY PRONE TO THIS ISSUE AND FORD IS JUST SWEEPING THEM UNDER THE RUG. FORD HAD MY CAR FOR 4 MONTHS WHEN IT WAS MISFIRING (WHICH IS HOW "ECOBOOM" BEGINS) AND REPLACED ALMOST EVERYTHING UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY MINUS THE ENGINE, TRANSMISSION AND TURBOCHARGER. Right rear turn signals and break lights occasionally fail to work. Turning the car off and on 3-4 times temporarily resolved the issue but eventually this temporary fix failed and I was told the entire rear tail light assembly would need to be replaced. I took my 2016 Ford Mustang to a local Discount Tire store to replace my front passenger seat tire. A few minutes after my car was pulled into the work Bay I was called to the front desk. The store supervisor advised me at that time that his technicians noted that my Lug nuts were swelling and would soon either burst causing my tire to potentially become dislodged or at the very least many garages would not be able to remove the lug nuts and ultimately the tire. He added that this was a common and known issue of Ford and there was even a potential class action suit regarding the issue. Of course the Supervisor's "fix" was to sell me a kit of replacement lug nuts which i Purchased at the cost of $95 dollars. I feel this is very dangerous and Ford should be responsible to reimburse me for the cost to replace inferior parts.

Back Up camera working intermittently. If I shake the wires in the trunk it will work. I purchased this car in November and immediately received a recall notice from Ford for the back up camera. I scheduled the car in for the recall and dropped it off to be repaired. I was notified from the dealer that the car was ready to go and picked it up. Immediately I noticed that the camera was still not working. The dealer said that the recall was to check and see if the recall was completed. (Does that really make any sense?). They said another dealer had completed the recall so their work was done. So I have a car that had a recall but now it does not as they say they have completed it but in reality, the original recall item is still not working.

Ford issued a notice in 2018 TSB 18-2256 stating that they knew evaporator cores were leaking refrigerant into the cabin of the cars but did not issue a recall. I know this issue may not lead directly lead to an injury from an accident but the system failure does release toxic chemicals that should not be in the cabin of a vehicle. Because this is a health risk to the occupants of the affected vehicles there should be a recall. I have had my 2016 Ford Mustang in to the Ford mechanic no less than 4 times since I bought it in late 2016 and each time they came up with some new cause for my AC not working and each time the system failed again in less than 2 years. Each time the problem was a supposed refrigerant leak in some other component of the AC system. Now that they've run out of things to replace they have speculated that the most likely cause is a bad evaporator core. My suspicion is that the evaporator core has been the issue from the beginning. Since Ford didn't issue a recall I have been subjected to years of exposure to dangerous chemicals due to this issue. Please make for recall these vehicles for the safety of the occupants of the affected vehicles

I had a back up camera recall done, and several months later, the exact same problems happened. Exactly the same symptoms and results. When shifting into reverse, the camera, in more than 50% of the time, the camera fails, just like before the first recall. The dealer says one fix per recall, and if I want it fixed now, it will be $400. It is a defect and should be fixed properly, not the sloppy fix done previously

The problem was determined by the dealer and Extended Warranty Inspector. There were no warning lamps or any other indications of a complete engine failure. No smoke exiting the exhaust, no contaminated oil, plenty of coolant in radiator, and was not making any noise. Reason for taking the car in for service was, on Oct 1, 2024 the gauge was acting erratic. The car never ran hot. The car was taken to the dealership on Oct 2, 2024. 2 days after, received a call with results stating that I need a complete engine replacement due to overheating and coolant found in cylinder #3.

I have had my 2016 mustang for 5 years already with 29k miles , my warrantee has expired. I recently notice I had check engine light for P0456 Evaporative Emission Leak. I took the car to get smoke test by my local shop mechanic and it came that there fuel vapor coming out of capless filler neck, since every ford model after 2013 don't have gas cap nomore I would have to replace the whole gas filler pipe which is around $500 for part and labor. In other cars you can just change gas cap for 20$ buh since in my case my car doesn't have gas cap i would have to replace the whole gas pipe filler and ford doesnt offer any gas cap for my car. I feel like if i do change my gas filler pipe , mabey couple years from now it's gona start giving same check engine problem. I also feel safety concern i do live in Arizona where gets really hot and with fuel vapor coming out capless filler it might cost a fire. I have 3year daughter that likes to ride in my mustang but i don't let her intill this gets fix i don't want her smelling gas . Im hoping with this recall ford can fix the issue and work on better design and or make a gas cap to fix evap leak without having to spend hundreds of dollards.thank you
