ABS control unit and ABS pump failure, repaired and more failures. Repair is to keep buying new expensive parts that will fail again. This ABS system is poorly designed or the feedback control component is poorly designed. It doesn't work properly, repairing it is not answer, parts are back ordered for months or years AND IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE, HIGH SPEED SAFETY, WHERE PEOPLE DIE DUE TO NOT EMERGENCY STOPPING CORRECTLY. GET ON IT. HOW MANY FAILURES DO YOU NEED TO SEE?
- 12/29/2021· SERVICE BRAKES
The abs module is throwing lights which then of course disables my cruise control. Also with no antilock brakes it definitely puts not only myself but others at risk in the case I have to stop quickly or on lwet/slick roads. We have had it to a shop and have a quoted price of 2500 to fix. I had no problems whatsoever with this until I started the truck one morning and the lights came on. Upon further research I have seen this is a problem with alot of Dodge trucks which leads me to believe that we need to revisit the part.

THE AIR SUSPENSION ON MY 2015 RAM 1500 HAS BEEN FAILING (BLOWING FUSES WHILE DRIVING, FREEZING UP AND FAILING TO INFLATE BEFORE STARTUP) EACH WINTER FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. AS MENTIONED ABOVE, THE SYSTEM CAN FAIL WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, DUE TO BLOWN FUSES FROM AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE SYSTEM. IT ALSO CAN JUST FAIL TO INFLATE ON COLD DAYS. THE SYSTEM APPARENTLY WAS NOT INSTALLED WITH AN AIR DRYING CAPABILITY CAUSING THESE ISSUES ABOVE AND THIS SHOULD BE EXPECTED IN COLDER CLIMATES. THE AIR SUSPENSION IS A 'CLOSED' SYSTEM, BUT WAS BUILT IS CAPABLE OF PULLING IN AIR FROM THE OUTSIDE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS (MEANING IT IS NOT A CLOSED SYSTEM). GIVEN THE FACT THIS ABILITY WAS INCORPORATED INTO THE SYSTEM, AN AIR DRYING SYSTEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED AS WELL. IT IS A CRITICAL SAFETY CONCERN WHEN THE SYSTEM FAILS TO INFLATE THE AIR SUSPENSION AND FCA SHOULD HAVE KNOWN IT WOULD FAIL. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE A RECALL REIMBURSING PEOPLE FOR THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH FIXING FAILURES OF THIS SYSTEM (COMPRESSOR AND AIR BAG FAILURES) AS WELL AS THE INSTALLATION OF A REMEDY (FULL REPLACEMENT) TO PERMANENTLY FIX THE SYSTEM.

WHILE BOTH DRIVING, ACCELERATING, STOPPED, STARTING, SLOWING AND PARKED, THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SPECIFICALLY THE LIGHTS THAT ILLUMINATE THE DASH BOARD ON THE RPM AND SPEEDOMETER GAUGES, START BLINKING (LIKE A STROBE) WHICH IS A HUGE DISTRACTION. THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO TURN THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS ALL THE WAY UP, TO WHERE THEY SHOULD BE WHILE DRIVING DURING DAYTIME CONDITIONS. THIS CAUSES A HUGE DISTRACTION SINCE THE INTERIOR IS FULLY ILLUMINATED ON DARK ROADS. DUE TO THE HORRIBLE RAM DESIGN OF THE HEADLIGHTS WHICH DON'T PROJECT ANYTHING, THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM TRYING TO NAVIGATE ROADWAYS WITH EITHER THE BLINKING DASHBOARD OR THE LIGHTS ALL THE WAY UP. *TR

On [XXX] numerous brake system warning dash lamps came on on your truck. I also noticed that once this happened the cruise control no longer works. The local RAM dealer could not inspect my truck for several days so I had an independent service center test it and he confirmed the anti-lock brake module had stopped working. I believe he also noted that error code(s) were detected. yes, it can be inspected. I drive the truck but do so without the use of the anti-lock brake system. Yes, the problem has been reproduced, and l've visited my local dealer and discussed the situation with them and they confirm that this has been an ongoing problem for over 2 years. Warning lamps only came on as soon as the problem started, though at the time I did not notice a problem as I did not have to slam on my breaks and make use of the anti-lock/anti-skid function. The service center and dealer both confirmed that the malfunctioning cruise control was definitely part of the module failure. Part # 68228991-AD (replaced part # 68228991-AB. I am writing to request urgent assistance regarding a serious safety and service issue with my 2015 Dodge Ram, which has only 45,000 original miles. I recently took the vehicle to an authorized Dodge dealership after multiple dashboard alerts appeared, including: ABS Light On, Brake Light On, “Service Trailer Light,” “Service Antilock Brake System”, Service Electronic Braking”, “Service Trailer Brake System” The dealership diagnosed the problem as a faulty ABS Module. I was informed that the part would cost approximately $1,400, plus the cost of ordering the part, and that the part may take up to four (4) years or more to arrive—if it ever becomes available at all. I contacted multiple Dodge dealerships and received the same response regarding the extreme delay and unavailability of the ABS Module. I was also told that the vehicle is unsafe to drive in its current condition. This is especially concerning, as this is my only vehicle, and I cannot use it due to the safety risks. Despite this, Dodge customer service informed me that no assistance can be provided unless I first pay for and order the part, even though the part may not arrive for years. Additionally, the dealership is unwilling to buy back the vehicle at a reasonable price due to the unresolved ABS issue, leaving me without a safe, drivable vehicle and without support or alternatives. I have confirmed that there is no recall listed for this issue, yet the ABS Module is a critical safety component, and the lack of part availability for years is unacceptable for a loyal customer who has maintained the vehicle properly and driven it minimally. I am respectfully requesting that Dodge Corporate provide A clear explanation for the extreme parts delay, A prompt solution—such as expedited part sourcing, coverage or assistance with repairs, or a reasonable buyback/exchange option, Guidance on how Dodge intends to support customers facing major safety issues caused by unavailable parts.

AEM UPDATE CAUSED VEHICLE TO PERFORM IN AN UNSAFE MANNER. HESITATES UPON ACCELERATION FROM STOP. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS IRREGULAR AND NO LONGER SLOWS VEHICLE DOWNHILL. DURING ACCELERATION MOTOR CAN REDLINE AND CAUSE A RAPID DECELERATION. NEVER SURE EXACTLY WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN WHEN PRESSING THE FUEL PEDAL. NEVER SURE IF IT WILL SAFELY GO WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO. FUEL ECONOMY IS ALSO REDUCED FROM 28 MPG TO 25 MPG. IT IS NOW A SCARY VEHICLE TO DRIVE. WAS IN RIGHT LANE EASTBOUND ON HIGHWAY 152 GOING OVER PACHEO PASS BEHIND SLOW TRUCK TRAFFIC AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE WHILE CHANGING LANES THE MOTOR WENT TO REDLINE AND DEPOWERED. I QUICKLY HAD TO BRAKE AND GET BACK IN THE RIGHT LANE BEHIND THE TRUCK TRAFFIC. THE VEHICLE HAD NEVER DONE ANYTHING LIKE THAT IN THE 4-1/2 YEARS PRIOR TO THE AEM. THEY RUINED MY TRUCK WITH THE MODIFICATIONS, IT IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE TRUCK SHUTS OFF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING.

ISSUE #1 TRUCK IS DANGEROUS TO OPERATE SINCE EMISSION CONTROL UPDATE. WILL NOT ACCELERATE FROM A STOP FOR SEVERAL SECONDS THEN SPINS WHEELS. UNSAFE ON WET ROADS AND SLOPES DUE TO UNEXPECTED THROTTLE RESPONSE. UNSAFE WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC OR CROSSING INTERSECTION. UNABLE TO TOW DUE TO LOSS OF POWER. FUEL MILEAGE ADVERSELY AFFECTED. NOW GETS 13-17 MPG. TAILPIPE EMISSIONS NOW SMELL LIKE DIESEL AND TAILPIPE HAS TURNED BLACK SINCE UPDATE. CANNOT LEAVE ENGINE RUNNING IN THE GARAGE DUE TO OVERWHELMING ODOR OF DIESEL. PERSISTENT ODOR OF ANTIFREEZE. ISSUE #2 I HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT FROM FCA. THE MANDATED UPDATES HAVE BEEN PERFORMED. I AM LOOKING FOR LEGAL COUNSEL TO HELP ME GET OUT OF THIS VEHICLE BEFORE SOMEONE I CARE ABOUT IS INJURED OR KILLED DUE TO THE LOSS OF PERFORMANCE AND ERRATIC THROTTLE CONTROL. ISSUE #3 LOSS OF POWER WHEN CROSSING INTERSECTION FROM A ROLLING START. ENGINE FAULT LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE ROAD WITH FOUR LANES OF ONCOMING HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC. ISSUE #4 TAILGATE OPENED WITH A LOAD OF LUMBER IN THE BED CAUSING LOSS OF LOAD. THE TAILGATE HAD TO BE REPLACED AT MY OWN EXPENSE. THANKFUL THAT NO ONE WAS INJURED DUE TO THE LOSS OF LOAD OR DURING THE CLEANUP. ISSUE #5 FUEL PUMP NOISE. THE FUEL PUMP MAKES A CONSTANT NOISE THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE BEARINGS ARE FAILING OR SOMETHING SIMILAR. WAITING TO BE STRANDED AGAIN. ISSUE #6 LOSS OF VEHICLE POWER. WOULD NOT ACCELERATE TO ROAD SPEED. 20 MPH MAX WHEN EXHAUST FILTER BECAME CLOGGED UP AND WOULD NOT REGENERATE. ISSUE #7 4X4 TRANSFER CASE MAKES GRINDING NOISE AND HAS EXCESSIVE PLAY. WHEN ROLLING ALONG IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC THIS IS VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DUE TO THE ROCKING BACK AND FORTH UPON ACCELERATION / DECELERATION. ISSUE #8 AIR CONDITIONING DOES NOT COOL AS WHEN NEW. AND MORE -OUT OF SPACE.

ON SEPTEMBER 12, 2016, MY TRUCK WENT THROUGH A BUILDING WHILE NO ONE WAS IN THE VEHICLE. AT AROUND 7 AM ON SAID DATE, MY DAUGHTER, WHO WAS THE DRIVER, EXITED THE VEHICLE TO SO INTO A BAGEL STORE IN A STRIP MALL. SHE PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, AND EXITED THE VEHICLE WITH HER KEYS IN HAND, SHE TURNED AROUND TO REMOTE START THE VEHICLE. IT WAS A COOL MORNING. UPON ENGAGING THE REMOTE START, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO MOVE ON ITS OWN, RUNNING INTO THE STRIP MALL ADDRESS OF GARFIELD RD, CLINTON TWP MI. THE BAGEL STORE EMPLOYEE SAW THIS ALL UNFOLD, YET THE POLICE DID NOT WANT HER AS A WITNESS. INSTEAD, THE POLICE TICKETED HER FOR CARELESS DRIVING. SHE WAS NOT IN THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME IT WENT INTO THE BUILDING YET STILL RECEIVED A TICKET. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO A CAR DEALERSHIP IN MI. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN ROUTE, MY DAUGHTER CALLED CHRYSLER TO INFORM THEM OF THE ACCIDENT. SHE WAS TOLD TO MAKE SURE THAT NO ONE FROM THE DEALERSHIP TOUCHED THE TRUCK. CHRYSLER WANTED TO SEND IN THEIR PEOPLE TO INVESTIGATE. THE TRUCK SAT ON THE LOT FOR A WEEK. OF COURSE THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG? IN THE MEANTIME I CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY TO SEE HOW MANY POINTS THIS TICKET WAS THAT WAS NOT WARRANTED. TOO MANY. SO I HIRED A LOCAL ATTORNEY TO FIGHT THE TICKET. I STILL HAD TO PAY FOR THE ATTORNEY AND A FINE. IN CONCLUSION, I OWN A TRUCK THAT MOVES ON ITS OWN, CHRYSLER STATES THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT; THERE IS A WITNESS THAT SAW THAT NO ONE WAS IN THE TRUCK. THERE IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM HERE AND NO ONE IS OWNING UP TO IT. I WOULD LIKE SOME CONCRETE ANSWERS ON THE PROBLEM. MY CHILD DRIVES IT EVERYDAY AND I FEEL THAT SHE IS CONSTANTLY AT RISK. My research has determined this.is common when the recall is not.properly.performed. I have documented evidence proving the recall was not performed. Dealer suggested I contact the manufacturer. Manufacturer has not helped and Dealer takes no responsibility. I've been told to replace the engine is 20 to 30 thousand dollars. This.is aproximately.what is still owed on the vehicle. The BBB and the aohio attorney generals office claim they cannot compel anyone to take responsibility. What am I supposed to do?
