Went in to Nissan Montgomery AL charged a cost of $267 not sure what that was supposed to do vehicle worsened. Went back to be told it was transmission clutch. I’m left stranded in Montgomery AL until it can be repaired and thinking I payed $267 for nothing I explained to the Serviceman what it was doing

  When I started the car it sounded like the engine was clicking. I turned it off thinking it may have been from the cold. After restarting the car, the sound did not start again. About 10 minutes into my drive, it started to feel like the the car was shaking each time I braked. About 5 minutes later, it felt like the car was fighting me to accelerate. After I stopped at a red light, it would not accelerate past 20 mph and started dropping as I pulled to the side of the road. It would not accelerate but I could hear the engine revving. No service engine light came on, or any other light. I turned off the car and called AAA to have my car towed to the dealership I purchased the car (Piazza Nissan). They did a diagnosis on the car which gave the diagnostic of P2859 and P0746. Upon searching these codes, a recall for Nissan Sentra with manufacture dates of 2013-2017 came up stating CVT judder and transmission issues. I called the dealer to ask about this recall, since they told me I need a new transmission with the cost of $6640.87. I was told the recall (Classification #AT19-011, NTB #NTB19-075 [XXX] ) for this expired in 2022. When asked why I never received a notice about this recall, I was informed they are sent by VIN. When I checked my VIN, no active recalls came up. Clearly, my car is experiencing the same issues as this recall and my vehicle (2015 Nissan Sentra) was manufactured in that time frame. I was lucky I was able to move my vehicle to the side of the road safely without causing as accident. I am deeply annoyed that I was not made aware of this issue that clearly effected my vehicle and could have caused a serious accident had I not been able to pull to the side of the road and thankfully the car behind was not close to me. THE CONTACT THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO AN UNKNOWN DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS A FAULTY TRANSMISSION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE.   I'm driving my car on the freeway and it's stalls. I barely made it to the shoulder. I waited a few minutes and drove again. Went a few miles, and again, it stalled. I made it to a safe place. Had my car towed to a mechanic. They said it was the CVT transmission.

  While pulling out in an intersection, my car would not accelerate as normal and I was almost hit by incoming traffic. When accelerating from stop, the vehicle moves slowly and hesitates. Once over a certain speed the car will function properly. The CVT is an issue in models 2013-2015 Nissan Altima also, but the manufacturer issued an extension for the powertrain warranty. The same should be done for the Sentra. It's a safety concern, because the CVT can go out at any time putting the driver at risk.

  The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN: 10058388 (Transmission Control Module); however, the vehicle was not included in the TSB. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 111,000.

  RECENTLY MY FAMILY WAS REAR-ENDED WHILE SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT AT A FOUR-WAY INTERSECTION ON A STATE ROUTE BY A DRUNK DRIVER TRAVELING MORE THAN TWICE THE SPEED LIMIT (40 MPH). FOLLOWING THE COLLISION, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIRBAGS HAD BEEN DEPLOYED. HOWEVER, NEITHER THE DRIVER NOR PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE CRASH CAUSING INCREASED INJURY TO THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER OF THE CAR.   The component which has failed is the CVT Transmission. It can be available and has been inspected upon request. The safety is for myself, my son, and other drivers on the roads because the transmission could cause hesitation as it did previoiusly without warning while in operation causing a possible collision. The problem has been confirmed by the manufacturer. The component has been inspected by the delaer on behalf of the manufacturer. There were no warning lamps this time because the dealer stated the code found during the diagnostic check indicates the transmission is not communicating with the vehicle computer so that the warning lamp would indicate there is a problem. The transmission was replaced February 2021. However, after only being driven 21, 263 miles this transmission is malfunctioning and is defective.

THEY DENIED ME. THEY ARE TELLING ME THAT THEY ARE GOING TO FLY OUT A SPECIAL TECHNICIAN TO CHECK IT OUT. THEY SAID THAT I NEED TO DRIVE MY CAR THAT DOES NOT HAVE WORKING AIR BAGS UNTIL THE TECH COMES OUT, WHICH MAY TAKE UP TO A MONTH. THEY SAID THAT THEY WILL NOT COVER A RENTAL CAR.   Without any warning electric fuel pump failed it show no signs of failing or going bad with fuel being flammable and the pump being electric aside from the risk of the car loosing power while in use the fact of it being flammable and faulty resorts to much bigger issues.

  Transmission is really bad after even nissan replaced it doesn’t shift correct, the car jumps, the brakes really doesn’t do well even after they change it. The motor sound is really high. The car doesn’t speed up on the highway to go in front of the right lane, so it puts me in dangerous several times. All documents of complain since 2019 at Nissan Petaluma ,CA and now the car at Nissan auto nation Las Vegas for the second time after they change the transition . Thanks

  1.Engine malfunction/Transmission failure .Yes, available for inspection upon request. 2. While driving my car in traffic my car started to hesitate then it started to slow down on its own I pressed on the gas pedal and it did not move forward at all the speedometer went to zero ,so I quickly turned on my hazard lights and pull over on the side of the road. Thank god I was in the lane close to the shoulder of the road. I cut the car off for a minute then started it back up and put it in drive and drove it down the street to my brother’s house where it is still sitting there now. This was very frightening and very unsafe experience , there were no warning signs far as dashboard icons emergency. I’m afraid to drive my car again and now have pay someone to take me to work and back home this is so inconvenient for me when I have a car of my own . All because of this faulty situation with the transmission 3. No inspections by anyone. 4. Prompt actions and attention to the matter of my car is of the importance to me and my Nissan Sentra to ensure the safety of myself and others.

  TAKATA RECALL. THE DRIVERS SIDE AXEL BOOT STARTED MAKING A CLICKING NOISE AT ONLY 25,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE WHOLE AXEL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THIS HAS NOT BEEN FROM ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO THE VEHICLE, JUST NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS WEAR AND TEAR. THIS COMPONENT SHOULD NOT HAVE STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS AT ONLY 25,000 MILES. I FIRST NOTICED IT WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO BRAKE, AND NOW IT DOES IT WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN TO STOP AND WHEN YOU TAKE OFF AGAIN. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 39,000 MILES ON IT. WHILE IT IS STILL DRIVEABLE, THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT SHOULD'VE WORN OUT ALREADY, AND THE SHOP IS TELLING ME THAT IT WILL COST ME ABOUT $1400 TO REPAIR.

  The CVT in this car is faulty. The transmission has been rebuilt but it still has the same issue. The transmission doesn’t di room properly and although the rpm’s increase the car will not accelerate. I’ve taken the car to Nisan dealerships. They now deny that this issue exists and will not offer a fix. The car is a safety hazard. It loses the ability to accelerate at low and high speeds. While on the highway or in the city the car loses the ability to maintain or increase speed. There is also a known issue with this car related to the brake switch and moisture in the tail light. The dealership knows by way of Nissan corporation sharing an article with them about this issue in other cars and knows that the brake switch is faulty and that the car can brake and accelerate at the same time but no recall has been issued. These issues are ongoing, have been happening since the car was about 3 years old and happen regularly.

  VEHICLE STALLED WHEN I PRESSED DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE. 1 MILE BEFORE STALLING IT STARTED TO JUDDER WHEN I WOULD COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND JERK ME FORWARD WHEN I WOULD EXCELERATE FROM A STOP. I TURNED OFF MY VEHICLE AFTER IT STALLED, SHIFTED TO PARK, AND TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON AND SHIFTED TO DRIVE IT ACCELERATED, SLOWER THAN USUAL AND I WAS ABLE TO PARK. PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT, I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE JUDDERING PROBLEM 7 DAYS AGO AND THEY REPLACED THE CVT CONTROL VALVE.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHEN STARTING THE VEHICLE AND DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE, THE VEHICLE MOVED FORWARD AND STRUCK A WALL AT THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE WAS PUMPING THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.

  The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Sentra. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. In addition, the vehicle jerked, and the contact noticed an abnormally loud sound. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed CVT failure. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The contact referenced an undisclosed recall; however, the VIN was not included in the recall repair. The dealer advised the contact to contact the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

  This particular vehicle exhibits a very strong, almost dash rattling judder when moving from the 1st to 2nd gearing ratio. This is especially dangerous in traffic and intersections where the vehicle is known to be in 1st or 2nd gear ratio, as Nissan likes to ratio out their CVT in software through the TCM to produce what feels like shifting from gear-to-gear as in a normal automatic transaxle. What makes this situation extremely bad is that when entering an on-ramp to the interstate (I-20 for example) it will intermittently judder from 1st to 2nd and then no power. After the judder it takes another few seconds for the TCM to figure out what happened and engage maybe more valve body pressure? I'm not sure completely, but it's extremely unsafe to drive. The Altima/Rogue with the same transaxle and model year run was issued a TSB and subsequently a TCM update was issued to rectify the early shudder, but the Sentra did not receive that update. The TCM output data shows that when this shudder is happening that there is a loss in hydraulic pressure somewhere in the unit. As Nissan says you never are supposed to change the fluid, this creates a very serious issue not only with the transmission, but warranty as well. The safety risk to others is high on this one because this could cause major rear-end conditions and city driving collisions as the car is supposed to be accelerating but can't because the transaxle was slipping and not gaining speed with the rest of the vehicles as expected.

  WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 60 TO 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR STARTS TO LOSE POWER/GAIN POWER AND THE RPM GAUGE IS CONSTANTLY GOING UP AND DOWN, THE DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM (DRIVETIME) I HAVE BEEN BACK AND FORTH WITH THEM FOR THE LAST 2 WEEKS AND THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE 2 OUT OF 3 SHOPS SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG SO I THEN GOT A VIDEO OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND I SENT IT IN TO THEM LIKE THEY ASKED AND WAITED ANOTHER WEEK JUST FOR THEM TO TELL ME THAT THE NEXT THING TO DO IS WHAT I TOLD THEM IN THE BEGGING ' CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID' AND THAT THEY COULD REVIEW IT ONCE I SEND IN AN INVOICE. I'VE PAID $2,100 ON THIS CAR IN THE MONTH I HAVE HAD IT DUE TO PROBLEMS AND THE REFUSE TO REIMBURSE ME FOR ANYTHING UNLESS IT'S IN A SHOP GETTING MORE THEN 8 HOURS OF PHYSICAL LABOR. SO MY CAR BEING IN AND OUT OF 3 SHOPS IN A WEEK DOESN'T COUNT FOR ANYTHING.

  The airbag sensor fails to register the weight of a grown adult in the passenger seat. I have brought my car into a Nissan dealership to get this issue checked out, but I was told that there is no issue. I first noticed this issue approximately 5 years ago and has occasionally occured since. If the airbag sensor does not light up when there is a passenger (who is over 100 lbs and over 13 y/o) and does not deploy the airbag in the event of an accident, the passenger of my car could be seriously injured or killed.

The contact stated that the vehicle would hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal as the check engine warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic and had the air flow sensor replaced but soon after repair, the failure returned. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The contact had taken the vehicle to another independent mechanic however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 78,000.

  I WAS DRIVING ON I-49 IN LOUISIANA TRAVELING AT 70 MPH WHEN I HEAR A LOUD NOISE, LIKE A GUNSHOT. I REALIZED MY SUNROOF HAD SHATTERED. THE COVER WAS OPEN AT THE TIME SO GLASS FELL INTO MY CAR, AND IN MY LAP/HAIR. I DID GET A FEW CUTS ON MY HANDS FROM THE GLASS. I DON'T THINK ANYTHING HIT THE SUNROOF, IT SHATTERED SPONTANEOUSLY. THE DEALERSHIP SAYS I HAVE TO GO THROUGH MY INSURANCE COMPANY TO GET IT FIXED.
