THE HEADLIGHTS, WHETHER IN AUTO-MODE OR ON-MODE, WILL RANDOMLY TURN OFF BY THEMSELVES FOR A COUPLE SECONDS, THEN CYCLE QUICKLY BACK ON AND OFF, BEFORE TURNING BACK ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS. WITHIN A 30MIN DRIVE THIS TYPICALLY WILL HAPPEN AT LEAST ONCE. IT IS SPEED INDEPENDENT; IT WILL OCCUR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, DURING REST AT A STOP LIGHT, DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT, THROUGH DARK TWISTING FOREST ROADS, ETC., ETC. SOMETIMES, ALTHOUGH NOT ALWAYS, OPERATING THE TURN SIGNAL WILL INITIATE THE ISSUE. AS DOCUMENTED BY VIDEO, WHEN IN AUTO-MODE AND THE SITUATION OCCURS, THE "LIGHT-MODE" DASH DISPLAY WILL QUICKLY ALTERNATE BETWEEN OFF AND AUTO AS THE LIGHTS THEMSELVES CYCLE OFF AND ON. IT IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS FOR A DRIVER AND ALSO SURROUNDING VEHICLES, AS ALL EXTERIOR LIGHTING IS LOST AND THE VEHICLE GOES DARK.

Vehicle: 2015 Hyundai Genesis sedan (3.8L) Issue Type: Exterior Lighting / Electrical System Description of the Problem: I am reporting an intermittent electrical failure affecting the rear lighting and backup safety systems on my 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The vehicle’s reverse lights, tail lights, and backup camera intermittently fail and flicker, especially when the trunk is opened or moved. This behavior has worsened over time. The failure appears to be related to wiring in the trunk area, as opening or closing the trunk causes the lights and camera to flicker or stop functioning. This issue affects multiple systems simultaneously, including: •Reverse (backup) lights •Tail lights •Backup camera License plate lighting The reverse lights and backup camera sometimes do not function at night, and the tail lights may flicker or go out. Safety Incident / Near Miss: At night, while backing up, I nearly struck a pedestrian because: •I could not clearly see behind the vehicle due to the backup camera and reverse lights not functioning, and •The pedestrian did not realize the vehicle was backing up because the reverse lights were not illuminated. No injury occurred, but this was a serious near-miss involving a pedestrian at night. Additional Information: I have since learned that Hyundai has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) for 2015–2016 Genesis vehicles related to damage or failure of the trunk wiring harness, which can cause loss of rear lighting and backup camera function. My vehicle’s symptoms match the conditions described in the bulletin. This issue appears to be a design-related wiring failure caused by normal trunk operation, not misuse or modification. Current Status: The problem is ongoing and worsening. Rear lighting and backup safety systems are unreliable and fail intermittently without warning.
- 12/16/2024· LANE DEPARTURE
I just purchased a used 2015 Genesis 3.8 Sedan and the BSD warning system intermittently comes on after driving at highway speed for less than an hour. It is unable to be reset and requires you to turn off the vehicle for the speed and proper indicators on the dash to be functional. This is a clearly a known manufacturer defect with all the threads being posted about the problem. The dealer is unable to replicate the problem, it requires highway driving of 30 minutes to an hour and has happened with the cruise set. It is not weather related, the car is pristine and clean and does not come on or is triggered by other vehicles. Due to not being able to see your status and other information on the dash until you pull off the road to turn the vehicle off this poses a serious safety threat when traveling at highway speed and not having your instruments to detect proper system performance. It is also not always safe/reasonable and convenient to pull off and turn the car off to reset the system only to have it come back on within the hour.
- 12/15/2025· ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that while stopped at a stop light, the oil warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle started to sputter and then stalled. The contact restarted the vehicle and drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a defective oil pressure sensor, and the contact was informed that the oil pressure sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to a local dealer for another diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.
- 12/14/2017· SUSPENSION,WHEELS
I TOOK MY CAR TO DEALER DUE TO EXCESSIVE NOISE IN FRONT OF CAR WHEN DRIVING. I THOUGHT IT WAS A WHEEL BEARING NOISE. DEAL,ER SAYS NOISE IS DUE TO TIRE WEAR. CAR ONLY HAS 40,700 MILES AND THERE WAS A RECALL AT AROUND 12,000 MILES WHEN HYUNDAI REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES WITH MICHELIN TIRES "DUE TO COMPLAINTS OF EXCESSIVE ROAD NOISE". MY CAR HAS BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED AT HYUNDAI DEALERS. I TOLD THE DEALER THAT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE FOR MICHELIN TIRES TO WEAR OUT IN LESS THAN 28,000 MILES. I BELIEVE THE CAR HAS A SUSPENSION DESIGN PROBLEM. THE DEALER REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. I CALLED THE HYUNDAI FACTORY LINE (DEALER GAVE ME PHONE NUMBER). FACTORY REP TOLD ME I WOULD BE CONTACTED WITHIN A WEEK BY FACTORY REGIONAL MANAGER. I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. I BELIEVE THE CAR HAS A SUSPENSION GEOMETRY OR DESIGN PROBLEM IN THE FRONT END OF CAR. NO NEW CAR WITH LESS THAN 28,000 MILES SHOULD WEAR OUT A SET OF TIRES UNLESS SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE DESIGN OR GEOMETRY. THE FACT THAT HYUNDAI RECALLED THE CAR WHEN NEW (ONLY 12,000 MILES) TO REPLACE THE TIRES TELLS ME THEY KNOW SOMETHING IS WRONG.

2015 GENESIS 11 MONTHS OLD WITH 6,100 MILES. THE SUNROOF WEATHER SEAL IS DEFECTIVE AND SEPARATING FROM THE GLASS. DEALER AND FACTORY ACKNOWLEDGE THE DEFECT ($3,500 COST TO REPAIR) BUT REFUSED TO BUY BACK THE CAR. THIS IS MY 4TH GENESIS: THE 2ND AND 3RD CARS WERE DEFECTIVE, THE 1ST WAS SOLD TO ME WITHOUT FEATURES I WANTED AND WAS TOLD WERE IN THE CAR I FIRST BOUGHT. MY ISSUE WITH THIS DEFECT IS THE REPAIR PROCESS IS SOMETHING FIELD TECHNICIANS COULD NOT ACCOMPLISH ON THE 3RD GENESIS WHICH INVOLVED REMOVAL OF MOST INTERIOR TRIM ABOVE THE DASH LEVEL AND HEADLINER. SEVERAL ATTEMPTS AT REPAIR/REASSEMBLY WERE UNDERTAKEN AND THEN WA STATE LEMON LAWS KICKED IN. THE INTENDED REPAIR TO MY CURRENT AND 4TH GENESIS WILL BE A FURTHER DISASSEMBLY OF THE UPPER PORTION OF THE INTERIOR TRIM OF THE VEHICLE AND OF COURSE REMOVAL OF THE FIXED GLASS PORTION AND REPLACEMENT OF THE DEFECTIVE WEATHER SEAL. THE DEALER, DOUG'S HYUNDAI, HAVE BEEN JUST GREAT AND THEY HAVE EXPRESSED THEIR CONCERN THAT THIS REPAIR IS LIKELY TO FAIL TO RETURN THE CAR TO ME IN "FACTORY CONDITION" DUE TO THE NATURE OF THE REPAIR. MY PAST EXPERIENCE WITH THE 3RD GENESIS TELLS ME THEY ARE RIGHT. WHILE THIS IS NOT A SAFETY CONCERN PER SE, WATER INTRUDING INTO A VEHICLE COULD AND LIKELY WILL IMPACT ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS AND CONTROL MODULES. CASE IN POINT WAS THE RECALL INVOLVING WATER PENETRATION INTO THE REAR TAIL LAMPS THAT IMPACTED THE CARS TRANSMISSION FUNCTIONS. I FEEL SCREWED BY HYUNDAI. THEY ARE MAKING ME UNDERGO A REPAIR THAT WILL RESULT IN A DEPRECIATED VALUE. CAN ANYONE WHO READS THIS HELP ME?

HYUNDAI IS TELLING ME THE PROBLEM WITH TIRE TREAD WEAR IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRE MANUFACTURER. THE TIRE MANUFACTURER IS TELLING ME THE PROBLEM IS WITH A DESIGN OF THE 2015 GENESIS SEDANS SUSPENSION. INSIDE REAR TIRE WEAR IS EXTREME, AND HAD I NOT COMPLAINED ABOUT VIBRATION AND CABIN SOUND, ULTIMATELY SEEKING PROFESSIONAL HELP IN SEEING THE WEAR AT A TIRE COMPANY, WE MIGHT HAVE VERY EASILY LOST OUR LIVES. RABEN TIRE, A MICHELIN DEALER, HERE IN EVANSVILLE TELLS ME THE CAR MAY VERY WELL HAVE A SUSPENSION-ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. IT WILL COST US OVER $1000.00 TO BE SAFE FOR A WHILE WITH TIRE REPLACEMENT AND ALIGNMENT. HYUNDAI WILL NOT EVEN GIVE US THE SATISFACTION OF A RETURN CALL. IT IS A BLATANT CASE OF 'DAVID VS GOLIATH' ! MY VEHICLE SHOWED SOLID CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WHILE I WAS ON 101 FREEWAY AND AFTER EXITING TO CITY ROAD I COULD PARK AND READ THE ERROR CODE "P0880 POWER INPUT TO TCM", I REPORTED THE ISSUE TO HYUNDAI DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS INTERNAL TCM DEFECT. DEALER REPLACED THE TCM BUT THAT COULDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. AND THEY JUST RELEASED THE CAR AS IS. AFTER A SHORT WHILE MY CAR HAD BECOME UNABLE TO REVERSE, AND WHEN SET THE GEAR TO REVERSE, MY CAR MOVES FORWARD TO MAKE A VERY LIFE THREATENING. I CALLED HYUNDAI CORPORATE OFFICE BUT THEY DIDN'T HELP. NOW, I CANNOT DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE IT IS UNSAFE AND BECAUSE BECAUSE I'M NOT A MECHANIC TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WHILE THE DEALER AND THE CORPORATE DON'T HELP. I FOUND OUT THAT THE MODEL OF MY CAR IS A SUBJECT TO RECALL FOR GEAR PROBLEM WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I FACE NOW. IT SEEMS THAT BOTH OF THE DEALER AND THE CORPORATE OFFICE ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE IN THIS PARTICULAR MODEL BUT THEY DID NOT EVEN MENTIONED IT TO ME UNTIL I FOUND IT BY MYSELF. A CAR LIKE THAT IS UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE BECAUSE IT RUNS FORWARD ONLY EVEN WHEN THE GEAR IS REVERSE AND IF STOPS I CANNOT EVEN PUSH IT BACKWARDS. A CAR WITH THIS DEFECT IS DANGEROUS FOR MY COMMUNITY. PLEASE HELP TO FORCE THAT COMPANY EITHER REPLACE THE CAR FOR ME, REPURCHASE OR REPAIR IT TO FULL OPERATIONAL STATUS..

WHEN MY HEADLIGHTS ARE IN THE "AUTO" POSITION AND I ENGAGE MY TURN SIGNALS MY HEADLIGHTS WILL FLICKER AND THE LCD SCREEN ON MY DASH SWITCHES BETWEEN "AUTO" AND "DRL OFF" WHICH CAUSES MY LIGHTS TO TURN OFF FOR A COUPLE SECONDS. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I'M IN MOTION AND WHEN THE TURNING STALK IS ENGAGED, EITHER FULLY OR SEMI, OR EVEN SOMETIMES WHEN I JUST PUSH UP AGAINST THE STALK WITHOUT ACTUALLY ENGAGING THE TURN SIGNAL. The contact owns a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. The contact stated that while stopped at a red light, the vehicle started shaking with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle accelerated but failed to exceed 20 MPH. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and shifted into park(P). The vehicle was restarted, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where a handheld diagnostic machine retrieved DTC: P2106, P0638, and P2110. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that the throttle body and the foot control throttle needed to be replaced. The contact was also advised by the mechanic that there may be an electrical system issue with the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired, but the codes were reset. The contact took the vehicle to the residence and replaced the throttle body and the foot control throttle, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,600.

The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
- 11/10/2025· STEERING
My 2015 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 AWD has steering issue. The steering wheel "sticks," not returning to the center on its own when steer more than 20 degrees either to the left or right. For example, on a winding road or on a corner, I would turn or rotate the steering wheel either to the left and right, and the wheel will stay that way rather than returning to the center once the road become straight. I have to yank the wheel back to the center in order to keep the car on the road. On a highway, I have to make constant correction to keep the car center or hold the wheel firm in order to keep the wheel, therefore, the car stady and and safe. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. I had an extend warranty until April 2025, and such brought the issues to 2 different dealers but they did not help. Each dealer attributes the steering issue to 2 separate problems. One dealer pointed to the rotors (which is relatively news) and the other to a suspension. I know about car. I changed the rotors myself and the suspension. A friend no is a master mechanic himsefl inspect the car for this year's annual safety inspection, and he found no issues withe neight the rotors or suspension after I made the replacments. THE STEERING ISSUE PERSISTS. If you would search the web( suchas Genesis Forum and others) other people have exactly same issues, so much so, Hyundai has issue a technical bulletin to deal with the steering issue under the question, e.g., replace entire steering column. Hyundai should replace all vehicle wiht the issue because this is clearly safety issue to me and any body who are on the road, for god forbids, I could lose control of my car and mawn them over! NHTSA has to at least lauch an investigation. The issue is not mine alone, other GENESIS G80 owners are driving unsafe car as of now! THANK YOU.

AFTER REFUELING MY VEHICLE ON THE EVENING OF 11/09/2017, THE HEADLIGHTS WOULD NOT COME ON USING THE "AUTO-ON" FEATURE. THEY DID WORK WHEN SWITCHED TO "ON". THE REAR LIGHTS DID NOT WORK WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS PRESSED, NOR WHEN THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. THE TURN SIGNALS ONLY WORKED IN THE FRONT, BUT DID MAKE AN AUDIBLE SOUND. THE DOORS WOULD NOT LOCK AND THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WAS ON "CONSTANT" AND THE SEAT BELT CHIME WAS AUDIBLE FOR (15) MINUTES OF THE (30) MINUTE DRIVE. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS (DASH) WERE AT FULL BRIGHTNESS AND COULD NOT BE DIMMED. THE FACTORY GPS WAS LOCKED IN "PREPARING" MODE. I STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE (5) TIMES, BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE.

Upon driving many warning lights light up and make warning signals on the instrument dashboard. These warning lights light up at the same time or in succession and include: check bid system, tire pressure, check engine light, skid control, check bsd system, and others. In addition, brakes become sticky and steering is affected. Worse yet, car slows down on its own as it engages crash avoidance system.
- 11/04/2023· ENGINE,FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER
The oil low-pressure warning light is frequently on while the engine is operating from idle to approximately 2,000 rpm. Engine operation is normal, including high performance. Complaints of this condition abound on Genesis Forums. Beside the lack of a true low oil pressure warning that may result in severe engine damage, a safety issue is present if that damage occurs on roadways with no way to escape traffic flow.
- 11/04/2023· STEERING
The steering wheel frequently locks in position during left or right turns at speeds between 30 and 70 mph. A deliberate effort is required to return the steering wheel to neutral. My Hyundai dealer shop would not diagnose the problem due to the problem being intermittent, despite the car being under the bumper to bumper warranty.

The electronic parking brake system engaged and remained engaged such that the car could not be driven. It could not be reset through any available means and no manual method exists. This occurred while the vehicle was stopped thus not a substantial safety risk for the particular episode, however this was a complete failure of a portion of the braking system which made it impossible to move the vehicle. It was towed on a flatbed truck and required skates under the rear tires to be placed on the truck. The Hyundai dealer confirmed that the entire system must be replaced and the vehicle remains disabled at the dealer as the parts are not available. There were no warning indicators, until the event occurred when the EPB and AUTOHOLD indicators lit, and the vehicle diagnostic system alerted a problem with the electronic parking brake system.

In July 2023, the driver's side passenger door stopped opening for no reason. There was no damage nor was there an accident. Upon researching this issue, I learned that this is a common problem for the 2015 Hyundai Genesis models. It is not safe to have passengers ride in the vehicle as they could not get out in the event of a flood, fire or accident. On July 20, 2023, I contacted Hyundai Motor America and was assigned Case No. 21756483. Max, National Consumer Affairs, Hyundai Motor America, (833) 462-8722 xX65522, was assigned. On August 4, 2023, Max scheduled an appointment at Roseville Hyundai for September 29, 2023. No repairs were performed nor was a clear diagnosis made as Hyundai did not if indicate it would pay for the repairs. On October 10, 2023, Rae, a service employee from the dealership, left a voicemail that due to the age of the vehicle and miles outside the warranty, Hyundai would not assume responsibility for the repair. A consumer of a vehicle has a reasonable expectation that all four car doors will open and close for many years. Due to the cost and supply issues, consumers are keeping their cars longer. We have owned many vehicles and even three Hyundai vehicles at the time of this incident, and not once did a door cease to open. I am seeking assistance from Hyundai repair this safety issue.

MY BRAKES FAILED WITH NO WARNING, AND I ROLLED THRU A RED LIGHT WHERE THE CAR STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE BACK UP AVOIDING AN ACCIDENT AS A BUS WAITED. ALL THE WARNING LIGHTS WERE FLASHING AFTER MY BRAKES FAILED. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT A FEW YARDS AWAY, AND CALLED GENESIS, WHICH SAID THEY RECEIVED AN ALERT ON THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL, AND I ASKED WHY THEY WERE NO ALERTS ON THE IMPENDING BRAKE ISSUES, AS I HAD RECEIVED A PRIOR ALERT ON ANOTHER ISSUE DEALING WITH THE FUEL VAPOR HARNESS. THEY DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS CORRODE REAR BRAKE LINES, AND BRAKE HYDRAULICS, AND WAS BE REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY( I HAD PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM THE HYUNDAI GENESIS DEALER AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE IN 8/2019), AND IT APPEARS THIS IS THE WARRANTY COVERING THE REPAIRS, NOT THE BALANCE OF HYUNDAI'S VAUNTED WARRANTY., MY VEHICLE HAS ONLY 20,038 MILES ON IT, SO HEAVY USAGE IS NOT THE ISSUE HERE. IT APPEARS THE WERE BAD PARTS ON THE CAR, AND I WAS JUST LUCKY TO HAVE ESCAPED A BAD ACCIDENT THAT MORNING. DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS(DRL) AND FRONT TURN SIGNAL BULBS BURN OUT VERY FREQUENTLY DUE TO THE FACT THEY ARE THE SAME FILAMENT IN THE BULB EVEN THOUGH THEY REQUIRE A DUAL FILAMENT BULB. THE WIRING HARNESSES ALSO SHOW SIGNIFICANT SIGNS OF OVERHEATING. THIS IS A VERY WIDELY-KNOWN ISSUE IN THE ONLINE FORUMS FOR THIS CAR AND IS A COMPLETELY UNSAFE ISSUE. THE DRIVERS SIDE BULB IS EASY TO REPLACE, BUT THE PASSENGER SIDE IS NOT. I HAVE REPLACED THE DRIVERS SIDE 3 TIMES AND THE PASSENGER SIDE 2 TIMES IN THE LAST YEAR. BETWEEN BULBS AND MECHANIC FEES FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE, I HAVE SPENT $200-$300 IN THE LAST YEAR MAINTAIN THIS UNSAFE PROBLEM.

THE HEADLIGHT MODE WILL SOMETIMES CHANGE FROM AUTO TO OFF AND BACK TO AUTO WHILE DRIVING (ON CITY STREETS OR ON THE HIGHWAY), WITHOUT INPUT FROM THE DRIVER. THIS CAUSES THE HEADLIGHTS, TAILLIGHTS, AND INTERIOR LIGHTS TO MOMENTARILY SWITCH OFF. I FEEL LIKE THIS MAY BE DUE TO A LOOSE ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IN THE HEADLIGHT MODE ON THE LEFT MULTIFUNCTION STALK, AS THE AUTO AND OFF MODES ARE ADJACENT TO EACH OTHER.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI GENESIS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER (DENNIS HYUNDAI OF DOUBLIN, 2441 BILLINGSLEY ROAD, COLUMBUS, OH 43235), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 23,000. *LN CONSUMER HAS DETAILING 4 EPISODES WHICH ARE LITERALLY LIFE-THREATENING IN NATURE. CAMSHAFT POSITION SENSOR CODE MALFUNCTION AND PLAN TO REPLACE IT UNDER WARRENTY. MOST OF THE SIMILAR EPISODES WERE REPORTED TO BE DUE TO A FAULTY THROTTLE POSITION SWITCH (TPS) AND THE RECOMMENDATION WAS TO REPLACE IT WITH AN UPDATED POSITION SWITCH. UPDATED 9/12/18*JB

THE FRONT TURN INDICATOR BULBS BLOW OUT FREQUENTLY, CREATING A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS BECAUSE THE MANUFACTURER COMBINED THE DRL AND TURN INDICATOR FUNCTIONS INTO THE SAME BULB, USING ONE FILAMENT OF A 2357 FOR BOTH FUNCTIONS. IT IS ALSO NOT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE THE BULBS WITH A LONGER-LIFE ALTERNATIVE, SUCH AS A LED REPLACEMENT, SINCE THE CAR REFUSES TO RECOGNIZE THE LED BULBS. THEREFORE, MANY GENESIS OWNERS END UP REPLACING THESE BULBS AS OFTEN AS MONTHLY, OR EVEN BI-WEEKLY. THE FAILURES OF THESE INDICATOR BULBS ARE UNPREDICTABLE, AND THE PROBLEM SHOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED, SINCE THE IDENTICAL CAR IN CANADA USES THE EXISTING "EYEBROW" LIGHTS FOR DRL AND THEREFORE THE 2357 FRONT BULBS ARE NOT SUSCEPTIBLE TO FREQUENT UNPREDICTABLE FAILURE.

I BOUGHT GENESIS AT MARCH 24.2015, AND I AM NOT OWNER RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I SOLD THAT CAR. WHEN I BOUGHT CAR, THERE WERE NOISE AT ENGINE AT NEW CAR. AFTER CHEKING THE CAR, HYUNDAI ENGINEER SAID " SHORT BLOCK PROBLEM". IT IS EXACTLY SAME PROBLEM OF SONATA (THETA 2 ENGINE). I THINK GENESIS ENGINE(RHAMDA 3.8) ALSO HAVE PROBLEM. I WILL ATTACH RELATED PAPER. THANK YOU. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 HYUNDAI GENESIS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE SHIFTER FAILED TO MOVE OUT OF GEAR. ALSO, WHEN SWITCHING GEARS, ALL THE WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V097000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN, EXTERIOR LIGHTING), BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT CORRECT THE FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 11669773. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.

After Hyundai performed a recall service on my vehicle, the radiator hose burst while I was driving on the highway, causing the engine to fail completely. Smoke came from the engine compartment, and I had to pull over immediately with my family to avoid a serious accident. Before the recall, the vehicle had no issues and ran perfectly for three months after purchase. The problem occurred only a few days after the recall service, which included work on the ABS module. Hyundai refused to take responsibility, even though this failure happened right after the recall repair. The dealership and manufacturer did not inspect the vehicle properly and made their decision based only on a phone conversation. This is a severe safety concern because the engine failed suddenly on the highway. I believe this failure is directly related to the recall work performed under NHTSA Recall #21V160000, which is still listed as incomplete on NHTSA records.

WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT OR DURING DAY, MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH THAT CONTROLS HEADLAMPS WILL, WITHOUT INTERACTION, FLIP THE LIGHTS FROM AUTO TO OFF. THIS LEADS TO EITHER THE DRLS BLINKING LIKE I HAVE AN EMERGENCY, OR THE HEADLAMPS TURNING OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING DOWN AN UNLIT HIGHWAY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT'S EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS A RECALL...NOT A WARRANTY EXTENSION. PARTICULARLY WHEN THE SERVICING DEALERS REFUSE TO REPLACE UNDER SAID WARRANTY BECAUSE "THEY CANNOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE".

The headlights intermittently turn off when driving at night. Usually it’s related to using the turn signal, but sometimes it does it completely on its own. Puts others and self at risk as driving down remote roads in the dark and lights cutting out for several seconds can be deadly. Dealer claims they cannot replicate after having the car for nearly 13 weeks total. (7 weeks first time, did not fix issue, 6 weeks second time, “couldn’t replicate”) Unknown. The dash will flash the headlight menu but no other warnings.
