  • ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:HOSES/LINES/PIPING/FITTINGSCampaign 16V779000 · 26/10/2016

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles manufactured February 24, 2015, to August 30, 2016. A hose may separate from the engine oil cooler tube assembly causing an oil leak.

Risk: A sudden loss of engine oil may cause engine failure, increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, an oil leak, in the presence of an ignition source, increases the risk of a fire.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine oil cooler tube assembly, free of charge. The recall began on March 23, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S40.

  • SEAT BELTSCampaign 14V649000 · 17/10/2014

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles manufactured August 18, 2014, to October 2, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the passenger safety belt tension sensor may misclassify the size of the front passenger seat occupant. This could cause a child size occupant to be classified as an adult and an adult passenger to be classified as a child passenger. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Risk: If the tension sensor misclassifies the front passenger, improper passenger air bag deployment may occur, increasing the risk of occupant injury in the event of a vehicle crash.

Fix: Ford has notified owners, and dealers will replace the passenger safety belt buckle, free of charge. The recall began on October 28, 2014. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14C08.

  • BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERACampaign 22V082000 · 16/02/2022

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles. The rearview camera wiring may be loose or damaged, which can result in a blank or distorted image.

Risk: A rearview camera that displays a blank or distorted image can reduce the driver's rear view, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and repair the decklid wiring harness and/or replace the rearview camera, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 23, 2022 and June 26, 2023. Remedy parts are expected to become available in the 4th Quarter of 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S06.

  • SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGESCampaign 22V011000 · 13/01/2022

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2014-2015 Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 Mustang vehicles originally sold or ever registered, in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia and Hawaii. Exposure to certain environmental conditions, such as high temperatures, high humidity, and salt air can cause the brake pedal bumper to corrode and separate from the brake pedal.

Risk: A separated brake pedal bumper can cause the brake lights to illuminate continuously, causing confusion to other drivers and increasing the risk of a crash. On automatic transmission vehicles, a missing brake pedal bumper can allow the driver to shift the vehicle out of the "PARK" position without depressing the brake, allowing the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of injury.

Fix: Dealers will replace the brake pedal bumpers and clutch pedal bumpers, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed on March 4, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 13, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S02.

  • SEAT BELTS:PRETENSIONERCampaign 25V614000 · 12/09/2025

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Mustang vehicles. Water and road salt may corrode the front seat belt anchor pretensioner cables.

Risk: A corroded cable can break, preventing the seat belt from properly restraining an occupant, and increasing the risk of injury during a crash.

Fix: Dealers will inspect and replace both front seat belt anchor pretensioner assemblies, as necessary. In addition, dealers will remove sections of the carpet and underlayment that contact the cables. Dealers will also inspect the A-pillar sealing patches, and as necessary, install A-pillar body plugs, and/or inspect and replace the front outboard seat bolts. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed October 20, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated December 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S92. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov September 17, 2025.

Roush Performance Products, Inc. (Roush) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Mustang GT Roush Stage 3 vehicles manufactured April 1, 2015, to October 31, 2015, and equipped with Roush Extreme Duty Half Shafts. The affected vehicles have a brake caliper guide pin that may not have been sufficiently tightened during installation of the half shafts. As a result, the caliper guide pin may loosen while driving, reducing the vehicle's rear braking ability.

Risk: A partial loss of the rear braking system can increase the risk of a crash.

Fix: Roush will notify owners, and Roush-authorized Ford dealers will tighten the caliper guide pin to the proper specification, free of charge. The recall began in February 2016. Owners may contact Roush customer service at 1-800-597-6874.

These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

Risk: A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLYCampaign 15V339000 · 02/06/2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2015 Ford Mustang vehicles manufactured February 14, 2014, to February 10, 2015, and equipped with 2.3L engines. Prolonged exposure to elevated underbody temperatures can cause degradation of the fuel tank and/or fuel vapor lines, which may eventually result in a fuel leak. In addition, this condition could cause seals in the parking brake cable to degrade, potentially affecting parking brake function.

Risk: If the vehicle experiences a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source it can, increase the risk of a vehicle fire. Reduced parking brake function could potentially result in unexpected vehicle movement, which may increase the risk of injury.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank shield, add thermal patches to the fuel tank and parking brake cable, and add thermal wraps to the fuel vapor lines. The repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on July 9, 2015. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 15S19.

The rear backup camera will periodically fail and not show what is behind the vehicle while backing up. The backup camera monitor will receive a message that states contact the dealer for repair. This is similar to the same recall notice I received for my 2020 Ford Mustang GT, yet I have never received notification of a recall for the 2015 Ford Mustang GT. I reported this same issue to my Ford Dealer when I purchased my 2020 Ford Mustang GT. The lack of a back camera resulted in a collision in a parking lot while driving the 2015 Ford Mustang GT because the other driver was out of my line of sight while I was backing out of a parking space, resulting in a collision.

  • 12/18/2025· ENGINEFire

“Charge system service now” came on the dash, battery lost power after about 10 seconds, screen went black, dash went black, car locked up, opened the hood and the engine was on fire, called 911 who came quickly and put the fire out without the entire car burning, insurance later total losses the car. I don’t know if it was the battery or the engine responsible for the failure, because the flames were on the engine and not the battery, but the incident was triggered by a battery warning. I was on the interstate driving 60mph when the car shut off and everything including my headlights and even hazard lights went black. Not only could I have been struck by a car on the interstate, I could have died in a car fire. Because the car locked up, I couldn’t open the trunk or use any electronics. The door could have just as easily locked and trapped us inside a burning car. The car is on a salvage yard, no attempt to replicate has been made. Progressive insurance, and Columbia fire inspected it and found that it was undetermined. “Charge service system now” was the only warning before the infotainment screen shut down to reduce battery usage. Every light on the dash flashed right before everything on the dash went black and power was lost to the entire vehicle.

CAR FAILS TO START ON REPEATED OCCASIONS. CAR INFORMATION INDICATES BATTERY VOLTAGE IS AT A 14.3 ON MANY OCCASIONS BUT CAR WILL NOT START. LIGHTS COME ON AS WELL AS INTERIOR ITEMS LIKE RADIO AND INFORMATION WINDOW. ON ONE OCCASION CAR SHUT OFF WHILE IN TRAFFIC, AND TOOK A FEW MINUTES TO GET TO RESTART. WHEN PUSH BUTTON START IS PUSHED CAR ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO CRANK BUT DOES NOT. WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE TO GET A JUMP TO GET THE CAR STARTED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTICS ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME NOTHING IS WRONG, BUT THIS HAS HAPPENED CLOSE TO 10X TIMES NOW WITH NO REMEDY. I am writing to formally request an investigation into a potential recall issue regarding a heated seat module and module plug on my vehicle. Below are the details of my vehicle for your reference: * Make/Model: 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost * VIN (Vehicle Identification Number): [XXX] * Mileage: 183,367 I have encountered a burning/melted plastic smell along with smoke coming from my heated/cooled seat module box while operating the vehicle. This issue has impacted safety, and reduced functionality. I have contacted the dealership, and had the part inspected but the issue persists. Upon reviewing similar concerns online and through forums, I noticed other owners reporting comparable problems, starting with many different 2015-2020 ford model vehicles, which leads me to believe this may be a widespread issue. I respectfully request that Ford initiate an investigation to determine if this problem warrants a recall. I also ask for guidance on how to address this issue in the interim to ensure the continued safety of myself and others on the road. With only 32,885 miles, engine light came on due to (P0456) EVAP small leak. Went to an auto shop and Ford dealer for diagnostic scan. Both technicians found that there is a bit of smoke coming out from the top of the fuel tank due to a small stress crack at the port near the canister vent hose as well as a small crack below fuel pressure sensor tube. New fuel tank replacement was recommended as the crack could not be repaired. Cost to fix is $1,400 parts and $1,200 labor. This small crack nears the fuel tank seems to be a major concern for owners as it could increase the risk of vehicle fire and should be a recall by Ford for immediate remedy.

This car has been in the shop and repaired almost every year since purchase for the same part/problem. The evaporator assembly has been completely replaced twice. The first time was 6 months after purchase and only 9000 miles on the car. The most recent time this part has went out, 11/23/2021, the cabin filled with smoke while I was driving. Smelled like a camp fire so I was concerned the car was on fire. I believe if I hadn’t pulled over, the car would’ve been engulfed in flames with me inside. This is a definite safety concern, and wonder why there has been no recall on this part. Especially if the car can actually catch fire. No check engine or warning lights appeared. Just a cabin full of smoke. Ford is now saying it’s the evaporator assembly, again, and it will cost $2600 to fix. I feel this should’ve been fixed the first time. This is an ongoing problem with this car from what I’ve read and believe Ford needs to do something about it. How many lives should it cost? Mine is worth more then $2600. Should be an easy fix for a multi billion dollar company!!!

  • 12/03/2015· STEERING

AT ABOUT 2000 MILES I NOTICED THE STEERING TENDING TO PULL TO THE LEFT PREVENTING THE CAR FROM GOING STRAIGHT DOWN THE ROAD. IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN ON ANY ROAD SURFACE AND WAS INTERMITTENT. THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED THE MUSTANGS STEERING IS VERY SENSITIVE AND WAS RESPONDING TO ROAD CONDITIONS. THEY DEFLATED THE TIRES AS WELL AS CONDUCTING A DIAGNOSTIC. AS TIME PASSED THE CONDITION WORSENED AND DEVELOPED TO THE RIGHT AS WELL AS THE LEFT. IN ADDITION THE CAR DEVELOPED A CLUNK NOISE WHEN THE WHEELS WERE TURNED HARD LEFT OR RIGHT, ALSO INTERMITTENT. MY DEALER CHECKED IT OUT, SAW THE PULLING TO THE RIGHT AS THE TECHNICIAN ROAD WITH ME, AND COMPLETED AN ALIGNMENT. THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE BUT I EXPERIENCED IT AS I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT FOLLOWING THEIR "REPAIR." IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN AND REQUIRES CONSISTENT ATTENTION TO ENSURE THAT WHEN THE STEERING GOES AWRY IT CAN BE CORRECTED. THE LAST REPAIR WAS 12/2 AND 12/3 AND THE CAR CONTINUES TO MANIFEST THE SAME PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP INSISTS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE THAT THEY CAN DETERMINE. I INTEND TO CALL THE FORD COMPANY.

THE LEAK APPEARS TO HAVE COME FROM THE CORNER OF THE WINDOW SEAL AND MADE IT'S WAY INTO THE CABIN AND CREATING A STAND POOL OF WATER. WATER POOLED ON THE REAR FLOOR AND MADE IT'S WAY UP TO THE FRONT OF THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE VEHICLE SAT OVER THE WEEKEND FROM 11/26/2019 TO 11/31/2019. I WAS NOT WITH THE VEHICLE DURING THIS TIME. I LOCKED THE DOORS AND ROLLED UP THE WINDOWS KNOWING RAIN WAS IN THE FORECAST. THE VEHICLE SAT AT MY PLACE OF RESIDENCE DURING SAID WEEKEND.

CAR IS EXPERIENCING A VIBRATION PROBLEM AT 65 TO 75 MPH, IN 6 GEAR, AND ENGINE IS AT 1750 RPM. VIBRATION IS DUPLICATED AGAIN, IN 5TH GEAR, AND ENGINE IS AT 2500 RPM. ALSO, WITH CAR IN THE STOP POSITION, CAR IN NEUTRAL, WITH CLUTCH IN OR OUT, SLOWLY REVVING THE ENGINE VIBRATION OCCURS AT 1500 TO 1750 RPMS. ALSO IF YOU QUICKLY REV THE ENGINE TO 2500 RPM AND DROP REVS SLOWLY VIBRATION REOCCURS AT 1750 TO 1500 RPM. THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN PRESENT WITH INITIAL PURCHASE OF VEHICLE, DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS TIRES AND DRIVE IT FOR AWHILE. THE CAR HAS SINCE BEEN IN THE DEALERSHIP 5 TIMES, REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES, FORCE ROAD BALANCED 3 TIMES, AND HAS BEEN TO SECOND FORD DEALERSHIP FOR CONFIRMING VIBRATION PROBLEM. SECOND DEALERSHIP ALSO HAD ANOTHER NEW MUSTANG EXPERIENCING SAME VIBRATION AND COULD NOT BE FIXED. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS DECLARED THE VIBRATION PROBLEM IS WITHIN SPECS FOR MUSTANGS AND HAS DECLARED IT "NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS" FOR MUSTANGS. AT THIS POINT MY CASE WITH FORD HAS BEEN CLOSED. IF THIS VIBRATION PROBLEM IS OCCURRING IN 40 PERCENT OF MUSTANGS AS A PRIOR COMPLAINT HAS STATED THEN FORD MOTORS NEED TO ADDRESS IT AND NOT IGNORE IT.

As I was driving on the freeway, out of nowhere my car started losing gas power which almost caused me to get rear ended. Later on that night I almost lost full control of the car when it lost power since I started swerving. through out the night it continued to lose power and then the "hill side assistance" light came on notifying me that it was not available/functioning and my break lights would not turn off at all, even when the car was off and locked. I took it to the dealer and they could not find the problem. Then I took it the a mechanic which he was able to temporarily fix it but it was not a permanent fix. we had to create the part, as the ford company did not have it anywhere. If I would have been on the street I would have lost control and who knows if a pedestrian could have been walking, It could have ended tragic. this is something that needs to be review and fix by ford company. This is a severe safety issues, it seems not only my car is having the same issue but other ford mustangs as well. Since the dealer did not have that small piece, they attempted to sale me the entire part which was $500. not every one can afford the entire part, and for a small piece which should cost no more than $20 that can cause injuries should not be ignored.
