When the heater is operated for 15-20 minutes a burning tire or skunk smell issues from the heater. The heater blower is currently of recall concern. No immediate safety issues, but we are concerned and the smell is bad. None of the components have been inspected by anyone. We are waiting on recall notification. No warning lamps or vehicle messages have occurred. The problem was first noticed as the winter weather made outside conditions much cooler and the heater fell into common usage. When heater is turned off the smell goes away.

When accelerating from a complete stop making a left turn vehicle starting shaking and I could not accelerate. I was not on a safe road to pull out of the roadway. Smelled smoke, then a small amount of dark smoke was noted to be coming from A/C vents I pulled over & turned off car The smoke stopped. I exited the car & called my husband. I opened the car hood to inspect. There was nothing suspicious. No source of the smell or smoke was identified. I re-entered the car, turned on the engine, and lots of dark smoke exuded from of A/C Vents & the engine. I turned off the engine, left the car & moved away. I called 911. A passer by went into the Post office, returned with a fire extinguisher & sprayed the engine. This seemed to temporize things for a very short time. while on the phone with 911 the car fire started and rather quickly the car became nearly totally engulfed in flames. Then the Police arrived first, followed by the Fire engine. Essentially, "everything that could burn did" (except the gas tank). Known recall (manufacturer #22S56, NHTSA #22V648

THE DAY AFTER WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE USED HAD 78,000 MILES ON IT WE WERE DRIVING ON A 4 LANE ROAD ABOUT 60MPH WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT PUT ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL. THE GAS PEDDLE WOULD NOT ENGAGE. AFTER WE TURN IT OFF AND ON A COUPLE TIMES WE WERE ABLE TO DRIVE IT AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST THREE TIMES SINCE WE HAVE OWNED IT. WE BOUGHT IT 4 MONTHS AGO. ON THREE OTHER OCCASIONS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE RETURNING HOME FROM A 3 HOUR DRIVE ON A HIGHWAY GOING 60MPH DOWN A HILL AND IT WAS UNDER POWERED BUT STILL DRIVABLE. WE HAD ONE TURBO REPLACED HOWEVER THE LIGHT HAS COME ON AGAIN BUT THE DEALER COULDN'T FIX IT BECAUSE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CLEARED AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. LAST WEEK WE WERE DRIVING IN TOWN THANKFULLY UNDER 30MPH AND THE BREAK PEDDLE GOT HARD AND COULDN'T BE PRESSED DOWN. A LIGHT CAME ON THAT SAID BREAK FAILURE WE HAD TO ENGAGE THE EMERGENCY BREAK TO STOP. WE HAD IT TOWED NO LIGHTS WERE ON WHEN IT GOT TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY PUT 30 MILES ON IT TRYING TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM AND COULDN'T GET IT TO DO IT AGAIN. THIS VEHICLE IS VERY UNSAFE IT'S A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE IT EITHER SHUTS DOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY HIGHWAY OR THE BREAKS WON'T WORK AND CRASHES INTO SOMETHING OR SOMEONE. WE HAVE A VEHICLE NOW THAT WE CANNOT DRIVE AND CANNOT FIX AND IF WE TRADE IT IN WE WILL BE OUT A LOT OF MONEY AND THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE WILL BE PUT BACK ON THE LOT.

Driving 45mph the stuttered quickly and the wrench symbol appeared on the dashboard. I had to put the car in Neutral and tranisted to the shoulder of the road, stopped and turned the vehicle off. This is not the first time this has happened. It happened to my wife and my daughter at separate times also.
- 11/12/2024· POWER TRAIN
I was driving and going around 45mph when the wrench warning light came on and I lost the ability to accelerate. The car could only coast. I was able to coast to a parking lot. I turned off the car and restarted it. It seemed fine so I drove home. The same thing happened again a couple of days later. We checked the codes and it had a p2112 error code. We replaced the throttle body and it seems fine now. However this is the second time we have had to replace the throttle body. The same thing happened in 2018 with about 74000 miles on the car. We replaced the throttle body then also. From internet searches this seems to be a common problem. It is a big safety issue since the car loses the ability to accelerate unexpectedly. I was lucky I was able to coast out of the way each time without causing an accident.

Purchased 12/2023 2015 Ford Expedition April of 2024 we began to have issues with the Sync System and Climate Control. We took it back to the original dealer and a second Ford dealer and neither was able to diagnose the issue. As they could not get it to duplicate while there. However it has happened numerous times since. The symptoms seem to have no rhyme or reason as to when they will happen, but they do follow the same pattern each time. The Sync screen will turn itself off completely and randomly. Screen goes Black System shuts down as if the power button was pushed. When you do push the power button to turn the system back on the temperature display in the left hand corner will no longer be displayed. This is the indication the system is still not working properly. The Air Conditioner will then turn itself off. Then the blower will switch to defrost and high heat, all in its own. You cannot adjust the setting or turn the heat off. It continues to blow on high heat in defrost mode until it decides to switch back to AC. This could last 2 seconds could be 20 minutes It will also read the gas gauge wrong, registering 20 miles left of gas even if you just filled up. This has all happened in the summer months causing extreme heat in the vehicle even with all the windows down. We replaced the Blower motor resistor and its wiring harness. Checked the blower at the same time, it is running smoothly. We also replaced the relay #3 responsible for climate control. We attempted the replace the intake manifold temperature sensor, but have been sent the wrong sensor twice, and it does not fit correctly. Now we have a fan running so loudly it sounds like out engine is idling high when it is not. We also now have no heat at all in the vehicle. When I checked the recalls the dates for the 2023 (22S56) are within the recall years but our vin says it's not. Manufactured 9/2014 Recall is for 1/2014-6/2017 No heat in the winter and extreme uncontrollable heat in the summer

I WAS SITTING IN A WAL-MART PARKING LOT WITHOUT THE CAR RUNNING. THE TEMPERATURE WAS APPROX 35-40 DEGREES WITH LIGHT RAIN/SNOW. WHILE SITTING THERE I HEARD A REALLY LOUD POP. AFTER LOOKING OUTSIDE AND AROUND THE VEHICLE TO SEE WHAT WAS OVERHEAD (NOTHING), I NOTICED THAT THE MOONROOF HAD SHATTER AND MADE THE BACK PART OF THE GLASS BUBBLE UPWARD TOWARD THE SKY WITH A SMALL HOLE AND THE ENTIRE GLASS SHATTERED. OF COURSE I HAD TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE HOME (APPROX 22 MILES) AND THEN TO THE DEALER (ANOTHER 25 MILES). AT THIS POINT MOST OF THE GLASS FELL INTO THE MOONROOF SLIDE COVER AND THUS DID NOT SHOW THE BUBBLE IN THE GLASS. FORD WILL NOT COVER STATING IT WAS BROKE BY FORCE. 55,000 MILES. ORANGE WRENCH WARNING LIGHT CAME ON DRIVING THROUGH TOWN ABOUT 25 MPH. LOST POWER AND COASTED ACROSS THE RAIL ROAD TRACKS IN TOWN. VEHICLE WAS STILL RUNNING, HOWEVER HAD NO POWER AND MINIMAL IDLE SPEED. I GOT PULLED OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. DIAGNOSTIC SAID TO CHECK MANUAL. I TRIED TO DO THAT AND THE VEHICLE WASN'T IDLING THE BEST, SO I SHUT IT OFF. I WAS AT A BUSY INTERSECTION AND WAS ON MY WAY TO PICK UP MY DAUGHTER FROM HER FIRST DAY AT DAYCARE, SO IN A LITTLE DISARRAY. I TURNED THE VEHICLE BACK ON AND REGAINED FULL FUNCTIONALITY. THE NEXT DAY IT REPLICATED THE ERROR TWICE IN ABOUT A 4 MILE STRETCH. I GOT IT SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED THEN DIRECTLY OVER TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY HAVE HAD IT FOR 8 DAYS AND CAN'T REPLICATE THE ERROR.

DRIVING ON A CITY STREET ABOUT TO GET ONTO A HIGHWAY CAR STARTED TO STUMBLE THEN DIED OUT. WE GOT IT STARTED BACK UP BUT NO THROTTLE. HAD IT TOWED BACK HOME. I HOOKED UP AN OBD2 CODE READER AND THE CODES WERE P2112 AND P2111 ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. I FOUND SOME INFO ONLINE LIKE A RECALIBRATION TEST ( KEY ON, PRESS PEDAL DOWN SLOWLY THEN RELEASE SLOWLY, THEN TURN KEY OFF). STARTED BACK UP LIKE THERE WAS NO PROBLEM. THIS CAR HAS 38,000 MILES THIS SEAMS LIKE A SAFETY ISSUE, IF WE WERE TO TURN IN FRONT OF SOMEONE AND IT DIED OUT WE COULD OF GOT HIT!!! I WILL BE TAKING IT IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED, CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY

Rear backup camera works periodically, there is a recall on the 2015 Expedition for this problem, but I’m being told my vehicle (VIN) is not included. The repair cost is over $1000. Why ins’t my Expedition included in the recall - I’m having the exact problem as documented in the recall. How many others are being affected by this problem but being excluded in the recall. Please investigate, this problem seems to be larger then the current recall.

Back-up Camera, the BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA only works intermittently. I'm being told me vehicle is not part of the current recall in the 2015 Expedition that was issued in April 2025, yet my vehicle (a 2015 Expedition) is experiencing the problems detailed in the recall. Why isn't my vehicle part of this recall, shouldn't the recall be expanded to all 2015 Expeditions experiencing problems with faulty back-up cameras?

WHILE TRAVELING IN THE PASSING (3RD) LEFT LANE ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY WITH SPEEDS OF 65 TO 70 MPH, THE VEHICAL TOTALLY LOSS POWER, MOTOR STILL RUNNING BUT JUST AT AN UNEVEN POOR IDLE, STILL IN GEAR, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE, IT DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YET THE MOTOR WAS STILL AT THE POOR IDLE. ON THE DASH COMUPTER A WRENCH APPEARED WITH "SEE MANUAL" ALONG WITH A SMALL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ABOVE THAT. I WAS FORCED TO GET OUT OF THAT DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH NO POWER, COASTING THROUGH 3 LANES WITH MY WIFE WAVING OUT THE PASSENGER WINDOW TO LET MY POWERLESS CAR DRIFT OVER. ONCE OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE MOTOR WAS STILL POORLY IDLING, GIVING IT GAS DID NOTHING, STILL JUST A ROUGH IDLE. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND MIRACULOUSLY I ONCE AGAIN HAD CONTROL OF THE ACCELERATOR. I WAS STILL 3 HOURS FROM HOME WITH ALL HIGHWAY DRIVING AHEAD OF ME, WHICH I DID DOING 55MPH IN THE SLOW LANE & READY TO TURN OFF ROAD. I BOUGHT A NEW VEHICLE AS TO NOT HAVE PROBLEMS, LET ALONE THE MOST DANGEROUS EPISODE OF OUR LIVES. WHAT REALLY IS UNACCEPTABLE IS THAT I JUST HAD A 70K MILE CHECKUP AT A LOCAL FORD DEALER WHERE I WAS TOLD THEY RECCOMEND CHANGING MY TRANSFER CASE OIL ALONG WITH AN OIL CHANGE & TIRE ROTATION. I WAS GIVEN A CLEAN BILL OF HEALTH FOR A ROAD TRIP. I REFUSE TO PAY ANYTHING FOR A FLAW IN THEIR DESIGN, ESPECIALLY BEING A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE.
