- ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC)Campaign 15V675000 · 19/10/2015
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2012-2015 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured April 21, 2012, to April 14, 2015. In the affected vehicles, water may enter the wiring harness for the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) module and leak into the module, disabling the ABS and/or the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system.
Risk: If the ABS or ESC is disabled, a loss of vehicle stability could occur, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will seal the ABS wiring harness to prevent water from entering and will replace the ABS module and repair the headlamp and dash wiring harness, as necessary. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on December 21, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R61.
- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:WIRINGCampaign 18V332000 · 17/05/2018
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
Risk: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

The affected vehicles may be equipped with tire placard labels which contain inaccurate seating capacity and occupant/cargo combined weight information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims for Passenger Cars."
Risk: With inaccurate information on the tire placard, the operator may overload the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will install a correct tire placard label, free of charge. The recall began April 8, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is P70.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2011-2015 Dodge Journey vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the driver's frontal air bag may unexpectedly deploy if the air bag wiring harness gets chafed within the steering wheel and short circuits.
Risk: Unexpected deployment of the driver's frontal air bag increases the risk of a crash or driver injury.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bag wiring within the steering wheel, replacing it if necessary. A protective cover will also be installed. These repairs will be made free of charge. The recall began August 28, 2017. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T47.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2009-2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured July 31, 2007, to November 12, 2016. After exposure to cold temperatures, the power steering return hose may rupture at engine start-up causing a loss of power steering assist.
Risk: A loss of power steering assist may require extra steering effort, especially at lower speeds, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the power steering return hoses, steel tubes, and power steering oil cooler, free of charge. The recall began on May 24, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S08.

The ABS light and Check engine light came on and dash began flickering. Vehicle also experienced sputtering issues and hesitation on acceleration. Vehicle was inspected by an independent technician who recommended taking it to a dealership for an ABS Module. The Vehicle was taken to the dealership and dealership determined that an ABS control and ABS module were needed. Parts were ordered, however, after contacting Chrysler customer care I learned that the ABS module is back ordered and on hold for engineer review. According to the representative I spoke to, folks have been waiting months for this part and it has been a high volume part order. The part number is 68164594AA. According to the rep, the part may take until April to arrive. If this is true it sounds like a significant number of people may be having a serious issue with their Dodge vehicle ABS module.

I have made several attempts to fix the continual misfiring, loss of power while driving performance to no avail. After spending thousands of dollars at the local Dodge dealership(s) and mechanics, I now have a car that is unsafe to drive due to known issues with the 3.6 Pentastar engine. This engine was recalled by Chrysler for years prior to my 2015 year. However, the Dodge cars like my Journey are experiencing the very same problems. I have reached out to my state of consumer department in Georgia. They have referred me to NHTSA as they have declared it a safety issue which outside of their scope.

The differential and the viscous coupler is what I'm having to replace now cause it is bad. The car is not that old and I'm going to have to spend around $3,500 to fix both of these parts. We could have been killed if we were driving the car, it would have locked up and caused an accident. Yes, the dealer said that it could lock up on us and damage other parts causing an accident. No, it hasn't been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. No, there were not signs and warnings lamps prior to the failure. We took it to the dealer on November 18th and have yet to get it back. We called Chrysler and opened a case. They told us that the only thing they could do is to expedite the part and the dealer has the other one. Chrysler is expediting the differential, the dealer was to get the part on December 9th. The part still isn't here. I have called Chrysler several times and nothing is being done. Today I called and Chrysler is blaming the dealer for telling them they got the part when they didn't get it. Then, Chrysler was trying to blame the shipping carrier with is UPS. I think these parts the differential and the viscous coupler should be recall before someone get killed. Chrysler has known about these parts since 2013 and they haven't done anything about it.

Due to the disabled airbag and seatbelt systems, occupants would not be properly restrained or protected in the event of a collision, creating a serious risk of injury or death. The vehicle was purchased used, and I was not involved in the prior crash nor told about it. The exact details of the prior crash are unknown. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am driving a 2015 Dodge Journey. Randomly, the airbag light came on, followed by loss of all electronics on the steering wheel. The horn will not work, nor any of the switches on the steering wheel. I did find that this is a common issue with Dodge Vehicles under recall 18V332000 AND 17V432000. I was told at the dealership that my specific dodge journey did not group into that recall however is experiencing those same issues. I am unsure if the airbag will even deploy in this state, coupled with the failure of the horn, this vehicle is not safe to drive.

AT LESS THAN 8,000 MILES WHEN GOING FROM PARK TO DRIVE OR REVERSE TO DRIVE I STARTED TO EXPERIENCE A VIOLENT JERK AND / OR LOUD NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULD NOT RECREATE IT AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. IT DIDN'T HAPPEN TOO OFTEN THEN. TOOK IT IN FOR THE RECALL AND AT AROUND 10,000 MILES MENTIONED THAT IT PICKED UP IN FREQUENCY AND AGAIN THEY TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T GET IT TO HAPPEN. I TOOK IT IN ONE LAST TIME AROUND 12,000 MILES BECAUSE IT WAS HAPPENING EVEN MORE FREQUENTLY AND I WAS AGAIN TOLD THEY CANT RECREATE IT AND THEY REFUSE TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION. I GAVE UP. NOW AT ABOUT 40,000 MILES AND 3 YEARS LATER AND IT HAPPENS DAILY. I WILL BE TRYING A DIFFERENT DODGE DEALERSHIP SOON TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP, IF NOT I AM GETTING RID OF THIS VEHICLE.

Vehicle has P0740 code of which is a recall on the transmission pump. The recall is S 44 however my vin does not apply even though it’s the same make, model, year, engine and drivetrain as the recall. Please include my Vin number in the recall because the vehicle stalls/ hesitate when the gas pedal is applied and the transmission is trying to downshift when speeding up to change lanes. The situation is dangerous because the driver can lose control of the vehicle when planning to execute and not get a response from the vehicle when accelerating or changing lanes. The problem is more of a 2 to 3 second hiccup and the vehicle seems confused. Include this vehicle and my Vin number in the S 44 recall of which my dealership has stated it should’ve been included with the rest of the 2015 and 2016 caravan, dodge journey recalls. Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan vehicles manufactured July 31, 2015, to April 18, 2016, 2016 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured August 17, 2015, to January 29, 2016, and 2016 RAM ProMaster vehicles manufactured August 15, 2016, to April 15, 2016. Vehicle has oil cooler leak which plastic oil filter casing and oil cooler adapter cracked and leaked. Oil pooled up on top of engine casing channel below intake plenum and dripped down to electrical connectors that go into transmission. Oil mist is in the inside windshield and outside windshield along with wipers. There is a recall for this year journey 2015 this year engine 3.6 vet and transmission combination fwd 6spd ;however, the Vin number is not applying to correct the oil cooler and filter replacement under a recall. Driving back home on Dec-08-2021; about 2 miles from home I started hearing gear whine noise, only got louder. Pulled over about half mile from home, walked around the car to see if something was stuck underbody. After that, the vehicle would not engage gear when I put it in D or R. I had to press gas hard for the gear to engage, but the car unpredictably engage and would lurch forward and lose gear again. Kept doing that for until I got home. Checked underneath, oil was leaking from the trans pan. The gear would only engage when the gas is pressed hard, but the car would jump as soon as the gear engages.

THE HEADREST DEPLOYED WHILE DRIVING WITH NO IMPACT. IT IS SPRING LOADED AND POPPED OUT VERY FAST, IT LOOKS LIKE PLASTIC HOLDING A DOING BACK BROKE CAUSING IT TO RELEASE, COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT

The problem component is the transmission fluid pump. The issue first started while driving. the transmission started making a grinding noise. the fault code for this was P0868. Our vehicle was towed to a dodge dealership for inspection and repairs. Estimated cost is $1576.84. I have researched this issue and feel this should be considered a recall. Owners should be covered for these repairs.

MY JOURNEY ONLY HAS 59000K MILES AND IT STARTED WITH A" KNOCK" NOISE WHEN I START ABOUT A MONTH AGO. MECHANIC TELLS ME THE "LIFTERS" ARE BAD AND THEY WOULD NEED TO OPEN UP THE PART OF THE ENGINE WHERE THE LIFTERS ARE LOCATED, I UNDERSTAND THERE ARE TWO DIFFERENT LOCATIONS FOR THE LIFTERS, THE FRONT IS PRETTY EASY TO CHANGE BUT THE SECOND LOCATION NOT SO MUCH. ALL WILL COST ME ABOUT $1500.00 TO REPAIR. IS THERE A RECALL?

WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT. THE BATTERY LIGHT CAME ON AND ALL OF THE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. I MANAGED TO EXIT THE FREEWAY AND GET TO A SAFE POINT. I AM REPORTING THIS BECAUSE I SEE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON 2011 - 2014 MODELS. THE VERY SAME THING HAPPENED TO MY VEHICLE.

The Anti-Locking Braking System, Electronic Stability Control & Braking warning lights stay on all the time. I have absolutely no traction at anytime. The worse incident occurred when I was headed down a mountain and it had just started to rain. I could not slow the car down. I started at 35 MPH at the top of the mountain and was at 60 MPH by time I got at the bottom of it. Every time I barely touched the brakes the car started fishtailing. I notice the no traction mainly when there are wet roads. I can tell I have not traction at times even on dry roads but lots worse when they are wet. I have noticed in many searches that the ABS/ESC being disabled is a common recall for the 2015 Dodge Journey; however, when I enter my VIN number to my car it states it is not included in this recall. I would like to know how recalls work and why my car would not be included. I have been watchin recalls hoping that my car would be included because I am still making payments on this vehicle and do not have money to fix this issue. This is my main means of travel and I am extremely nervous driving with no traction. I'm considering getting rid of this vehicle because I do not feel it is safe to drive.
