  • AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGERCampaign 21V198000 · 22/03/2021

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Audi S3 Sedan, A3 Sedan, 2016-2018 A3 Etron, 2017-2020 RS3 Sedan, and 2015-2019 A3 Cabriolet vehicles. The passenger occupant detection system (PODS) may malfunction and switch off the passenger air bag even when the seat is occupied.

Risk: A deactivated passenger air bag increases the risk of injury during a crash.

Fix: Dealers will replace the PODS sensor mat and update the PODS control module, free of charge. Owners letters were mailed December 23, 2021. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 69BY.

  • FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINECampaign 24V110000 · 14/02/2024

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain front-wheel drive 2015-2020 Audi A3 Sedan, 2015-2019 Audi A3 Cabriolet, 2019-2020 Volkswagen Jetta GLI, 2018 Golf Sportwagen GP, 2018-2019 Golf Sportwagen A7, 2015-2017 Golf Sportwagen, 2015-2020 Golf GTI, and 2015-2020 Golf A7 vehicles. Due to a problem with a suction jet pump seal inside the fuel tank, fuel may flow into the evaporative emissions (EVAP) system and possibly leak out of the charcoal canister.

Risk: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.

Fix: Dealers will replace the suction pump, free of charge. Final owner notification letters for Audi owners were mailed on July 25, 2024. Final owner letters for VW owners were mailed on August 13, 2024. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 or Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are VW: 20UF/Audi: 20YF. Vehicles that were previously recalled under 16V-647 will need to have the new remedy completed. PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM FAILURE, RESULTING IN ILLUMINATED AIR BAG MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP. EXCESSIVE RESISTANCE IN THE OCCUPANT SENSOR MAT OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, INDICATING AN INTERNALLY FAILING SENSOR AND RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE AIR BAG SYSTEM BECOMING DISABLED. AUDI HAS ISSUED RECALLS FOR OTHER VEHICLE MODELS IN THIS YEAR FOR THIS EXACT DEFECT, AND THE RESOLUTION IN THOSE INSTANCES IS TO INSTALL AN UPDATED PART WITH A PROTECTIVE COVER THAT WILL PREVENT PREMATURE FAILURE OF THE NEW SENSOR. AUDI HAS NOT EXPANDED THE RECALL TO INCLUDE THE AUDI A3 AS OF THE DATE OF THIS WRITING. THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE IS A 2015 AUDI A3 PREMIUM PLUS FWD SEDAN WITH SPORT SEATS AND 1.8L GASOLINE ENGINE. AUDI DOES NOT APPEAR TO OFFER A REPLACEMENT PART AT THIS TIME, POSSIBLY AN INDICATION THAT THE PART HAS BEEN DESIGNATED OBSOLETE IF THE VW AUDI GROUP IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE AND UPDATING THE PART. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS LEAVES CONSUMERS WITHOUT A REPAIR OPTION WHILE OPERATING A VEHICLE WITHOUT A FUNCTIONING SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE: 9577755 / B1225 1B ; IDENTICAL TROUBLE CODE ASSOCIATED WITH THE ACTIVE RECALL(S) THAT AS OF YET ARE NOT EXTENDED TO THE A3 VEHICLES.

I purchased this vehicle in Germany back in September 2020. It’s a US spec Audi that has the passenger air bag floor sensor recall that I can’t seem to get fixed by the German Audi dealership. How can I get this recall fixed in case I sell the car or want to ship it back stateside. They won’t ship a car with a potential safety recall outstanding. My phone number is [XXX] and I used my stateside address because the system will not accept my German address. Please contact me via phone number listed above or by email. THE CAR HAS HIGH IDLE RPM (900+), AND THEREFORE BEGINS TO ACCELERATE AS SOON AS BRAKE IS RELEASED. THIS MAKES PARKING OR MOVING FORWARD A SMALL DISTANCE DIFFICULT AND SOMETIMES CAUSES THE DRIVER TO JAM ON BRAKE WITH THE SUDDEN MOVEMENT. IF DRIVER IS NOT CONSTANTLY AWARE OF SUDDEN MOVEMENT CAR WILL HIT THINGS IN FRONT OF IT. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD BY DEALER AND AUDI USA THAT THIS CONDITION CANNOT BE CORRECTED. *TR

I WAS BEHIND A NEWER AUDI SEDAN (POSSIBLE A3 2.0T) AT NIGHT, AND WAS BLINDED BY THE BRIGHTNESS FROM THE BRAKE LIGHTS. THE LIGHTS WERE TOO BRIGHT FOR ME TO SAFELY KEEP MY EYES ON THE ROAD. I WAS DRIVING A 2001 LEXUS LX470, SO I DON'T KNOW IF THE HEIGHT OF MY VEHICLE MADE A DIFFERENCE ON THE ANGLE OF THE LIGHT. I HAD TO GET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE TO AVOID A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT. *TR

  • 12/09/2020· AIR BAGS,EQUIPMENT

IN 2019, I WAS NOTIFIED OF A RECALL CONSISTING OF THE PODS(PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SYSTEM) SYSTEM STATING THAT THE WIRING AND CONNECTOR NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE RECALL SERVICE REPAIRS DONE. AFTER COMPLETION OF THE RECALL REPAIRS, I HAVE NOW BEGAN TO HAVE ISSUES WITH MY AIRBAG SENSOR WHICH IS PART OF THE PODS SYSTEM. AROUND MARCH 2020, I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY AIRBAG TURNING ON AND OFF WHILE A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN MY PASSENGER SEAT WITH THE SEATBELT ON. I WOULD HAVE TO INSTRUCT MY PASSENGER TO DISENGAGE THE SEATBELT AND RE-ENGAGE IT IN ORDER FOR THE AIRBAG TO COME BACK ON AND RECOGNIZE THAT THERE IS A PERSON OVER THE MINIMAL WEIGHT REQUIREMENT OCCUPYING THE SEAT. THIS ISSUE HAVE CONTINUED TO OCCUR ON AND OFF THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. ON NOV. 6TH, I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT(REAR-ENDED) WITH NO MAJOR INJURIES. THAT ACCIDENT WAS LUCKILY NOT VERY SEVERE AND I AM VERY FORTUNATE THAT I DIDN'T HIT THE CAR THAT WAS IN FRONT OF ME AND NEEDED MY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY AND I WOULDN'T DUE TO A FAULTY AIRBAG SENSOR THAT WAS FINE UNTIL THE RECALL CAMPAIGN IN 2019. SO ON FRIDAY, NOV 13TH, I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WHEN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT CALLED, I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS IN FACT MY SENSOR INSIDE MY FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THAT IS MALFUNCTIONING. THIS DID NOT OCCUR UNTIL THE WIRING AND CONNECTOR WAS CHANGED IN DEC 2019. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CORPORATE OFFICE OF THE AUTO MAKER AND THEY ARE REFUSING TO PAY ANY PART OF THE COST TO HAVE THE SENSOR REPLACED AND I AM BEING QUOTED A REPAIR PRICE OF $1200 AND THAT'S JUST FOR THE PART ALONE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND I FEEL THAT SINCE THE COMPANY ISSUED A RECALL CAMPAIGN FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE WIRING AND CONNECTOR, THEY SHOULD DO THE SAME FOR THE AIRBAG SENSOR BEFORE A FATAL ACCIDENT OCCURS TO A PASSENGER OF THE SAME TYPE OF VEHICLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THERE ARE CURRENTLY SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EXACT SAME ISSUE POSTED ON THIS SITE AND SEVERAL OTHERS.

  • 12/03/2025· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

Smelt like something was burning and the smell was coming out of vents. Looked online and found that people have been having issues with the auxiliary heater for the HVAC to help the car warm up faster. I check mine and found that the connector was staring to melt. Seems like it could be a potential fire hazard if not caught soon enough.

  • 11/22/2015· EXTERIOR LIGHTING

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO LOW. THERE IS A DROP-OFF SO THERE APPEARS A DARK AREA ABOUT 10 FEET IN FRONT AND TO THE LEFT OF THE DRIVER SIDE WHEN DRIVING. IT'S ALMOST LIKE THE RIGHT BEAM IS CROSSING THE LEFT. THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT IT HAD TO DO WITH EUROPEAN CODE AND THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE. I HAVE DRIVEN MANY CARS IN MY LIFE WHERE THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE IN MY OPINION - IT'S DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD.

  • 11/20/2021· ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

During cold ambient temperature when the engine is cold the vehicle activates an axillary cabin heater which fills the cabin with smoke and burning odor due to the heating element burning the housing and wiring inside the dash. This is a serious danger risking vehicle fire and health hazard for the operator and occupants of the vehicle. It appears multiple other Audi vehicles have a similar/same heating element that have the same issue. The 2015 A4 and Q5 appear to have a recall for this issue.

I WAS ABOUT TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE BUT DEALER CALLED ME SAYING MY CAR'S VIN NUMBER HAS BEEN LISTED FOR AN IMP UPDATE IN ORDER TO PREVENT FAILURE OF CERTAIN COMPONENTS AND PEOPLE IN GERMANY ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO GET THIS FIXED ASAP I.E ; 18 SEPT 2015 . I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON 24 SEPT 2015 IT IS NOT JUST UPDATE BUT THE ENTIRE TURBO IS REPLACED , MONTH LATER CAR IS HAVING SIMILAR SYMPTOMS ,NO POWER/HESITATION , INTERMITTENTLY STUTTERING OR MISFIRING. AUDI MECHANICS KEPT CAR FOR A DAY (13 NOV 2014)AND REPLIED THEY COULDN'T FIND THE ISSUE AND RETURNED THE CAR BACK TO ME . I ASSURED THEM THE VEHICLE HAD PREMIUM GAS ONLY AND NOTHING ELSE. I WILL KEEP YOU INFORMED OF THE STATUS. *TR

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2015 AUDI A3 INADEQATELY LIGHTS THE ROAD AHEAD ESPECIALLY ON THE DRIVERS SIDE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD TO THE POINT THAT IT HAS BECOME A SAFERY PROBLEM TO MYSELF AND ANYONE USING THIS VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALERS ATTENTION AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS HOW THE HEADLIGHTS WERE DESIGNED AND WE MUST LIVE WITH IT. THEY LET US DRIVE AN AUDI A4 HOME IN THE DARK AND HAD NO PROBLEM WITH THE HEADLIGHTS AND SEEING THE ROAD IN SHORT, THERE IS A REAL SAFETY PROBLEM HERE THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED ON THE 2015 AUDI A3 !!!!

CAR RECEIVED PODS RECALL FIX CODED 69Z4 IN JANUARY 2020. THE FIX DID NOT SOLVE THE ANNOYING AND LIFE THREATENING MALFUNCTIONION THAT LEADS TO AUDI PRESENSE FAILURE ALERT AND DEACTIVATION OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SYSTEM WHEN A PASSENGER IS SEATED. IT WOULD ALSO TRIGGER THE ERROR WHEN NO PASSENGER WAS SEATED, REQUIRING TO FASTEN THE SEATBELT TO AN EMPTY SEAT TO GET RID OF THE SEATBELT BEEPS. CAR WAS TAKEN IN TO AUDI DEALERSHIP OCTOBER AND AFTER AN INSPECTION, THE ISSUE WAS FOUND TO BE THE SENSOR ITSELF THIS TIME. THE DIAGNOSIS REPORT DILIGENTLY RULED OUT ANY PROBLEM WITH THE CONNECTOR AND WIRING WHOSE FAULT WOULD MEAN A POTENTIAL REPAIR AND THE INSPECTION WOULD BE AT NO COST TO OWNER. HOWEVER, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE'S COMPLAINTS OWNER WAS PRESENTED WITH A 1,500 DOLLAR QUOTE FOR REPLACING THE SENSOR + $250 FEE FOR USING THEIR VAGCOM ("INSPECTION"). THE ERROR CODE WAS B12251B (MAT RESISTANCE TOO HIGH). AUDI'S INTERNAL DOCUMENTS ACCESSED THROUGH NHTSA REPORT THAT "IF FAULT, 'B12251B: SEAT OCCUPIED RECOGNITION SENSOR MAT RESISTANCE TOO HIGH' IS STORED IN THE AIRBAG CONTROL MODULE, DO NOT DIAGNOSE OR REPLACE ANY COMPONENTS FOR THIS FAULT BEFORE PERFORMING THIS REPAIR. THE 69Z4 TOPIC IS NOT THE ONLY CAUSE OF THIS FAULT. ANY DIAGNOSIS RELATED TO THIS FAULT WILL NOT BE COVERED UNDER THIS CAMPAIGN." AUDI OPENLY ADMITS THAT THE SCOPE OF THE 69Z4 RECALL AND THE SENSOR ISSUE ARE LINKED TOGETHER BY VIRTUE OF HAVING SIMILAR BEHAVIORS FOR THE CAR SYSTEMS AS WELL AS FAULT CODES. HOWEVER AUDI PERFORMS THE CHEAPER BANDAID OUT OF POCKET AND EXPECTS THE OWNER TO PAY FOR THE FAULTY PART WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN PART OF THE RECALL IN THE FIRST PLACE. THIS MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME BEHAVIOUR AND SAME PART (THAT IS TRADITIONALLY NOT YOUR USUAL WEAR&AND&TEAR PART LIKE A BATTERY) WARRANT AN INVESTIGATION OF THE MALPRACTICES OF AUDI IN DEALING WITH THIS RECALL AND ITS CUSTOMERS.

How is it acceptable to allow the manufacturer to not have a solution to this for 1.5 years? Shortly after starting the car, and while exiting a parking lot, the car stalled and lost engine power. I was able to start the car back up for long enough to be able to pull back into the parking lot however after the car got parked the engine refused to start and stay running for the next hour. After a check using OBD11, the codes were showing the cause of the original problem was low fuel pressure which ended up causing misfires. The only way I was able to get the car running and staying running was by purging the system repeatedly by turning on the ignition without starting the car. This has all happened once before while I was driving at relatively low speeds (around 25 MPH) in a town, and I had to go through the same process. No warning lights show for the first multiple attempts at starting the car until it consistently fails to start. No inspections have taken place.

I OWN A 2015 AUDI A3.AUDI RECENTLY HAD A RECALL (#69Z4) TO ADDRESS AN ISSUE WITH THEIR PODS SENSOR SYSTEM. AUDI CLAIMED THE FIX AS A REVISED WIRING CONNECTION AND CABLE ROUTING. MY A3 EXPERIENCED THE EXACT SYMPTOMS AND ISSUES THE RECALL COVERED. I TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR HOWEVER IMMEDIATELY AFTER PICKING UP THE CAR THE ISSUE STILL PERSISTS. DEALER SAYS IT IS ACTUALLY AN ISSUE WITH THE PODS SENSOR ITSELF BUT THAT THEY WILL NOT REPAIR THIS UNDER WARRANTY. I CALLED AUDI USA WHO CLAIMS THE SAME. IT APPEARS THEIR FIX IS NOT ROBUST ENOUGH TO FIX THE ACTUAL PROBLEM BUT THEY WILL NOT CORRECT IT FURTHER. AS IT STANDS NOW MY CAR STILL WILL NOT ALLOW THE AIRBAG TO WORK PROPERLY WHILE A PASSENGER IS THERE OR NOT. AIRBAG WARNING GOES OFF CONSTANTLY AND "AIR BAG OFF" LIGHT IS ILLUMINATED NEARLY ALL THE TIME BUT WILL INTERMITTENTLY GO ON AND OFF AT RANDOM TIMES. HOW EVER, AFTER GOING BACK INTO THE AUDI DEALERSHIP, THE REPRESENTATIVE INFORMED ME THAT I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE PRESSURE SENSOR UNDER THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. PART NUMBER : 8V0898522S AND N0152612 WOULD NEED TO BE PURCHASED TO FIX THE AIR BAG LIGHT ISSUE. THE PRICE OF THE PART BEING $1000 THAT IS NOT INCLUDING LABOR. IN THE STATEMENT ON THE RECALL IT SAYS THAT THIS ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED. THE REPRESENTATIVE AT AUDI USA INSISTED THAT I SHOULD GO TO AN AUTHORIZED AUDI DEALERSHIP TO GET THE WORK DONE SO THIS WHEN IT IS COMPLETED, I AM TO SEND HER A COPY OF THE INVOICE AND WORK ORDER TO BE REVIEWED BY HER SUPERVISOR FOR POSSIBLE REIMBURSEMENT. SHE ALSO STATED THAT I WAS NOT THE ONLY PERSON EXPERIENCING THIS ISSUE. I HOWEVER REFUSE TO SPEND $1000+ TO FIX THE MAIN PROBLEM WITH THIS RECALL. THIS SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, NOT JUST REROUTING THE WIRES AND REPLACING THE CONNECTOR TO THE SENSOR BUT ACTUALLY REPLACING THE SENSOR IT SELF AND NOT TRYING TO PUT A BAND-AID ON THE ISSUE. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THANK YOU

My 2015 Audi A3 has a recall since first part of 2021 for passenger air bag sensor. We have tried several times to get this recall fixed and every time we call the dealership they don’t have the parts. This has gone on for about a year and a half now. Dear NHTSA, I am filing a complaint about the handling of a recall repair on my 2015 Audi A3 (VIN: [XXX] ) for the suction jet pump. The service experience has been frustrating and raises concerns about the repair’s quality. 1.First Visit - Inadequate Information: During my first visit to the service center, over an hour away, I was turned away because my fuel level was too high. I was never informed that my gas tank needed to be below a certain level for the repair, resulting in wasted time and travel. 2.Second Visit - Check Engine Light Still On: On my second visit, the suction jet pump was supposedly repaired, but my check engine light remained on. I had informed the service advisor that the light was related to an EVAP system malfunction, which I was told could be caused by a faulty suction jet pump. After speaking with multiple mechanics, I learned that a malfunctioning suction jet pump could cause fuel to enter the EVAP system, damaging parts like the purge valve or charcoal canister. 3.Unreasonable Charges: The service advisor insisted that the remaining EVAP issues were unrelated to the recall and wanted to charge $220 for another diagnostic and repairs, without even inspecting the car after the recall service. This seems unfair, as there’s no way to confirm without a proper check. 4.Missing Seat Belt Buckle: After the recall service, I discovered that the rear driver’s side seat belt buckle was missing. This is a major safety concern and needs to be addressed. I request NHTSA’s help in investigating the repair quality and ensuring these issues are resolved fairly. Thank you for your attention. Consumer bought this car at 30,040 miles. The car currently sits with 89,000 miles. I have had 18 recommended service visits totaling $19,240 and then on July 15, 2022 with no pre indicators or warnings the engine dies after a 95k full multipoint inspection that consumer had 3 weeks prior. The car has an impeccable Maintenace record. I did everything the dealer told me; and I still almost died on the 101 fwy going 70 mph on a conference call; the flashers didnt even work; the car dead and came to a hard halt and trucks were screeching around me with smoke coming from their tires because of the extreme hard stop and slamming on breaks, i was screaming for my life praying no one would slam into me. Metro who roams the fwy saved my life; without him i would be dead because of AUDI's HORRIBLY MANUFATCTURED VEHICLE. It seems as though the dealer purposefully sabotages my car as a woman; i have no alternative but to fix it and now they want $27,000 MORE for a new engine AND starter. so, in total; to drive 57,000 miles I've paid $37,000 cash for the car (I own the title)/ plus $19,240 in maintenance /repairs and now they want another 27,000 for the engine. i have no more money to give them. i recently returned my 3rd rental vehicle and i am out of funds on transportation. • 09/29/2022· FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

I experienced issues putting fuel in my vehicle. The pump would shut off as if the tank were full after putting only a few dollars in the tank. At one point gas backed up and spalshed onto my hand and cloths, down the side of my vehicle onto the ground. Prior to this I noticed my vehicle hesitating when accelerating at times. I took it to the Audi dealership explaining something was preventing fuel from going into the gas tank. The Audi dealership’s initial diagnosis recommendation was to replace charcoal cannister as it had gas in it. Once replaced, the technician still had issues fueling the vehicle. After a second diagnostic test they determined the Evap Cannister as well as the actual fuel tank needed to be replaced. I did take my vehicle to another establishment for a second opinion as I felt the Audi dealership did not appear to know what the exact problem was. Prior to and during the issue with my vehicle, there were no warning lamps on messages indicating any problems. There was only the slight hesitation when accelerating periodically. This occurred approximately 1 week prior to the fueling issues.

Subject: Complaint regarding refusal to perform recall repairs outside the U.S. – VIN [XXX] Dear NHTSA Office of Defects Investigation, I am the owner of an Audi A3, model year 2015, VIN [XXX] . According to the NHTSA database, my vehicle is subject to two open recall campaigns: – 69BY / 21V198 – Passenger Occupant Detection System (PODS) – 20YF / 24V110 – EVAP Suction Pump I currently reside in Ukraine, where the vehicle has been legally imported and registered. Despite the recalls being active and safety-related, the official Audi importer and dealers in Ukraine have refused to perform the repairs free of charge. They argue that these recalls apply only to the U.S. market and therefore decline service, which contradicts the global principle of mandatory recall repairs. This situation puts me and other drivers at risk, as the unresolved recall issues directly affect vehicle safety. I kindly ask NHTSA to review this case and provide guidance on ensuring that recall obligations are respected internationally, or to instruct Audi AG / Audi of America to facilitate the execution of these recalls regardless of the vehicle’s current market. Attached, please find copies of my correspondence with Audi dealers in Ukraine and Audi of America. Thank you for your assistance. Best regards, [XXX] Ukraine Phone: [XXX] Email: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

WITH AN SOMETHING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT A WARNING MESSAGE SAYS THAT BECAUSE OF A MALFUNCTION, THE AIRBAGS ARE TURNED OFF. A FEW SECONDS TO A MINUTE OR TWO LATER ANOTHER MESSAGE SAYS THE AIRBAGS ARE ON. THIS SEQUENCE CAN APPEAR MANY TIMES IN AN HOUR OF DRIVING OR NOT APPEAR AT ALL FOR SEVERAL DAYS. THIS APPEARS TO BE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS REPORTED AND RECALLED FOR CERTAIN 2018 AUDI S5 AND A5 VEHICLES ALONG WITH SOME 2017-2018 A4S. I'VE NOTICED THIS HAPPENING WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION. I THOUGHT THAT I HAD THE ORIGINAL AIRBAG ISSUE FIXED WHEN IT WAS TAKEN TO BE SERVICES FOR THE RECALL OF FAULTY WIRING UNDERNEATH THE PASSENGER SEAT, BUT AUDI IN CARY NORTH CAROLINA SAID THAT THIS IS A SEPARATE ISSUE AND NOT COVERED UNDER THE FORMER RECAL.

CAR ENGINE STOPPED WORKING WHILE IN MOVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 10 MILES PER HOUR. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WITHOUT WARNING AS THE CAR STOPPED FUNCTIONING. PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS DISENGAGED AND INDICATED IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY EVEN THOUGH A PASSENGER WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT. SEVERE INJURY COULD HAVE OCCURRED IF THE CAR HAD BEEN REAR ENDED WHEN THE CAR STOPPED WORKING. CAR HAD BEEN IN FOR MAINTENANCE AT ALL PREDESIGNATED MANUFACTURER'S SUGGESTED MILEAGE POINTS WITHOUT INDICATION OF ANY ISSUES. *JS
