- ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT CLUSTER/PANELCampaign 14V223000 · 30/04/2014
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured March 26, 2013, through August 15, 2013. In the affected vehicles, the engine control module (ECM) software may cause the fuel gauge to read inaccurately.
Risk: An inaccurate fuel gauge may result in the vehicle unexpectedly running out of fuel and stalling, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the ECM to correct the fuel gauge reading, free of charge. The recall began on June 27, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet), and 1-800-462-8782 (GMC). GM's number for this recall is 14007.
- POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONCampaign 14V092000 · 21/02/2014
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Regal, LaCrosse, Verano, and Enclave, and Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Cruze, and Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. In the affected vehicles, the transmission shift cable adjuster may disengage from the transmission shift lever. As such, these vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect." They also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
Risk: If a vehicle's shift cable disengages from the transmission shift lever, a driver may be unable to shift gear positions and the indicated shift position may not represent the gear position the vehicle is in. Should a disengagement occur while the vehicle is being driven, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, the driver may be able to shift the lever to the "PARK" position, but the vehicle transmission may not be in the "PARK" gear position. If the vehicle is not in the "PARK" position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter. A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.
Fix: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any affected transmission shift cable adjusters, free of charge. The recall began on April 10, 2014. Chevrolet owners may contact General Motors at 1-800-222-1020, Buick owners at 1-800-521-7300, and GMC owners at 1-800-462-8782. General Motors' number associated with this recall is 14048.
- SEAT BELTSCampaign 14V266000 · 20/05/2014
General Motors is recalling certain model year 2009-2014 Buick Enclave vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through May 14, 2014, Chevrolet Traverse vehicles manufactured June 6, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and GMC Acadia vehicles manufactured April 9, 2008, through May 14, 2014, and 2009-2010 Saturn Outlook vehicles manufactured April 14, 2008, through March 18, 2010. In the affected vehicles, the flexible steel cable that connects the seatbelt to the front outboard seating positions may fatigue and separate over time.
Risk: If the steel cable becomes fatigued and separates, the seatbelt may not properly restrain the seat occupant increasing the risk of an injury in a crash.
Fix: General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, if necessary, repair and replace the lap pretensioner, free of charge. Parts are not currently available. An interim notice will be mailed to owners in July 2014. A second notice will be mailed to owners once parts become available. The recall for the 2009-2010 model years began on July 11, 2014. WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET THE 2014 GMC SIERRA 6.2 L V8 LOST POWER AND STARTED RUNNING ROUGH AS APPROACHING AN INTERSECTION. I WAS ABLE TO STOP, AND REVERSE THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM THE INTERSECTION, TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND THE TRUCK SHUT DOWN, IT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART. THE TRUCK HAD UNDER 60,000 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST INCIDENT. IT WAS TOWED TO A GM DEALER SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS FIRST INCIDENT TOOK PLACE IN AUGUST OF 2019. THE ROCKER ARM AND EXHAUST SPRING HAD TO BE REPLACED IN THE #2 CYLINDER, THE CYLINDER HEAD HAD TO BE REBUILT WITH A NEW HEAD. IN ADDITION THEY REPLACED 4 FUEL INJECTORS. IN DECEMBER OF 2019, A SECOND INCIDENT HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET, THE ENGINE STARTED RUNNING ROUGH, I WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO MY HOUSE TO GET IT HOME, PARK IT AND IT WAS TOWED TO A A CERTIFIED GM DEALER SHOP FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME IT HAD 61,752 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, THE NUMBER 5 SPRING BROKE. IT IS AT THE SHOP WAITING ON SPRING REPLACEMENT, THEY ARE IN BACKORDER, THERE IS NOT PROJECTED TIME THE REPAIR WILL BE COMPLETE.

2014 GMC ACADIA HEADLIGHTS DO NOT SHINE OUT FAR ENOUGH TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD OR TO EACH SIDE WHEN TURNING. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A DARK HOOD OVER THE TOP PART OF MY EYES AND THIS HOOD "BOUNCES" AS YOU TRAVEL--VERY DISTRACTING, IRRITATING, AND UNSAFE. WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, I ALWAYS HAVE MY FOG LIGHTS ON, BUT EVEN THAT DOES NOT HELP MUCH. WHEN DRIVING ON A HILLY, CURVY ROAD, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD & SIDES--SCARES THE HECK OUT OF ME! I LOVE THIS ACADIA, BUT REFUSE TO DRIVE IT ON A TRIP WHEN I KNOW I WILL BE DRIVING AT NIGHT AND WOULD BE SCARED TO DEATH IF IT WOULD RAIN AT NIGHT--SO WE TAKE OUR OTHER VEHICLE ON MOST TRIPS. I HAVE FOUND OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE ACADIA HEADLIGHTS FOR THE 2013 AND 2015 MODELS. ALSO FOUND MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 PICKUPS THAT SOUND JUST LIKE MY CONCERNS. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP A COUPLE TIMES AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. SURELY GMC WILL WAKE UP AND REALIZE THAT THESE HEADLIGHTS CREATE DANGEROUS NIGHTTIME DRIVING CONDITIONS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED!

TWO SEPARATE WARRANTY CLAIMS. DEALER DID REPLACE ALL TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLIES- ONCE ON NORMAL WARRANTY CLAIM, THE SECOND INCIDENT (LHS ONLY) ON CUSTOMER SATISFACTION BASIS. ISSUE> REAR TAIL LIGHT LENS CLOUDS UP WITH CONDENSATION / WATER TO THE POINT THAT STOP LIGHT VISIBILITY IS AFFECTED. APPROX 50% OF THE LENS IS COVERED INTERNALLY WITH WATER DROPLETS AND CONDENSATION POTENTIALLY VIOLATING FMVSS SAFETY STANDARD FOR VISIBILITY. APPARENTLY THE LAMP ASSEMBLY IS NOT SEALED AND PERMITS WATER INTRUSION. CONDENSATION DOES NOT CLEAR UP ADEQUATELY- IN MY CASE AFTER 16 MILES OF DRIVING OR LEAVING THE SUV OUTSIDE OVERNIGHT. RESPONSE FROM DEALER: GM ISSUED A LETTER STATING WARRANTY CLAIMS WILL NOT BE HONORED FOR WATER CONDENSATION ON TAIL LIGHT LENS. *TR

WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR BEGAN SHUTTERING AND THE WARNING SYSTEM WENT OFF STATING THE TRACTION CONTROL HAD GONE OFF. THEN IT SAID ENGINE POWER REDUCED, SERVICE ENGINE, AND SERVICE TRACTION. THE CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN. I PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF THE CAR. UPON RESTARTING THE CAR I RECEIVED A MESSAGE THAT SAID TRACTION CONTROL ON. BUT THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS OCCURRED. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP TO WHICH THEY SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT. AFTER DOING A GOOGLE SEARCH TODAY, I FOUND THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM IN GMC ACADIA AND I AM SHOCKED THAT IT HASN'T BE REPORTED/RECALLED. IN RETROSPECT, I HAVE NOTICED THAT SOMETIMES WHEN I ACCELERATE, THE CAR WILL FAIL TO SHIFT GEARS IN A TIMELY MANNER AND JERK FORWARD WHEN IT FINALLY DOES SO. I HAD A VEHICLE BEHIND ME GOING THE SAME SPEED AND HAD TO QUICKLY MOVE TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID GETTING HIT. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE TRACTION CONTROL / STABILITRAC TURNED OFF. BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME I WAS USING THE WRONG GAS. THEY CLEANED CARBON OUT OF THE INTAKE VALVES. I HAVE PUT GAS IN IT TWICE SINCE THEN, AT SHELL, WHICH IS WHAT THEY TOLD ME TO USE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN TODAY 12/9 WHEN I WAS GOING AROUND A CORNER IN THE RAIN. THIS TIME IT SAID SERVICE STABILITRAK AND SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING AND THE ENGINE SPUTTERING. I HAD BEEN GOING THROUGH A PUDDLE AT THE TIME SO I ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NO RECORD OF ME BRINGING IT IN ON THE 21ST. I AM BRINGING IT BACK TO THEM ON THE 15TH BECAUSE THAT IS THE FIRST TIME THEY WILL HAVE A LOANER AVAILABLE FOR ME. I AM NOW AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR BECAUSE OF THE DANGER OF SLIDING AND LOSING CONTROL. The air bags safety recall has been out since May and not even an ounce of new information has come out with any updates on when we will be seeing new airbags, it’s very unsafe for drivers to be driving these vehicles and possibly have a fender bender and die because the airbag was faulty. We want an update it should be illegal for any of us to have to wait this long without even an update on a timeline of when the bags will be available because most of everyone who is going to get a new vehicle/trade in is being screwed because of the recall. GMC has had multiple recalls within the last couple of years and I wish I would have known that before but that’s in the past. PLEASE protect us and get them in gear or atleast hire them a marketing team t help with updates.

I have had many problems relating to this vehicle, for only owning it for a year. Inaccurate Fuel Gauge Reading- My fuel gauge is inaccurate. It has resulted in my vehicle running out of fuel and stalling, while on road. I have 4 children who are at risk of danger while in vehicle. The fuel warning light has illuminated when the gauge needle says I still have more than plenty of amount (a quarter of a tank or more at times. It differs). I have taken to many shops, it was diagnosed with an electrical and fuel system failure. Electrical shorts and problems- Having electrical shorts on and off. Check engine light comes on/off Vehicle randomly failed to start with no good reason/cause. My vehicle was difficult to start and would require several attempts before starting. Power lock/unlock fob doesn't work, replaced battery multiple times. My windows and sunroof power windows do no work and unable to fully close on/off at times. Check airbag light has been coming on and off. Power Train intermittently, the transmission shifts with a loud thump, at various speeds. Vehicle starts shaking and jerking while shifting gears and going different speeds. My vehicle slows down, power reduce engine and steering difficult at times. Other/ water leak- Found water in all of my tail light assemblies, headlight assemblies, sunroof and windows leaking. There is no proper seal or has worn off, causing leaks in and repairs for many replacements, which are expensive temp fixes with no permanent solution. Causes accidents by not having necessary working equipment for driving conditions. Other:Hood doesn't latch and stay open so difficult to even check fluids properly alone. Multiple dealers have inspected problems, some have not been able to pin point the problem for some of these issues or have been charged unaffordable amount before fixing, and only diagnosing problem. There are recalls out for many of these problems and my vehicle needs to be on the list for serious safety issues!

With the number of deaths and injuries reported due to the airbag malfunction, GM has done little to remedy this issue. At the time of the 5/10/23 notification of the airbag recall, my vehicle was "grounded" out of a concern for my safety. Since six months has passed since the recall was initiated, GM has appeared to have assessed the situation and decided that the price of one life will cost them less than the cost of one replaced airbag.

Passenger Airbag indicator light stays "On" at all times(with or without a seated front passenger) Indicating that "Passenger Airbag is " OFF". Concern that the Airbag System is not functioning properly, thus exposing the front seat passenger to injury in the event of an accident. YES. On 02/24/2023 the vehicle was inspected by an independent service center. Note: a copy of the report/findings is available. The tech determined that two conditions existed; Codes B0023 and B0085. Only my independent service center has inspected/tested the vehicle. On 11/24/2023 I contacted my GMC Dealer to discuss the issue. I was informed of my options. It is my intention to schedule an appointment ASAP. The problem began in January 2023 with the indicator lamp coming on randomly.

I HAVE NOT BEEN IN A MAJOR ACCIDENT SO I'M NOT SURE IF THE AIRBAGS WILL WORK. HOWEVER, THIS HAS BEEN A CONCERN. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALER AND THIS PROBLEM BEGAN WITHIN A FEW YEARS. HOWEVER, THEY REFUSE TO HELP ME WITHOUT CHARGING ME HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.

- 11/17/2015· STEERING
AT ABOUT 53,000 MILES THE POWER STEERING STARTING MAKING A LOUD WHINING NOISE AND A GRINDING NOISE WHEN WHEEL WAS FULLY TURNED EITHER DIRECTION. THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHEN THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP OF SLOW SPEEDS AND MAKES A BUZZING, WHINING SOUND ALL THE TIME. THE STEERING FEELS VERY UNSTABLE WHEN AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WINDING AROUND ANY CORNERS. I FEEL THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING AND THE UNSTABLE STEERING AT HIGH SPEEDS FEELING LIKE YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE ON A CURVE.

DURING EVENING RUSH HOUR, THE CAR STALLED OUT COMPLETELY WHILE GOING APPROXIMATELY 75 MPH ON A MILD INCLINE ON THE HIGHWAY. GAS GAUGE SAID APPROXIMATELY A QUARTER TANK OF GAS. ALL POWER STEERING WAS LOST, BUT I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR TO THE SHOULDER OF THE FREEWAY. A SERVICE TRUCK PUT APPROXIMATELY 5 GALLONS OF GAS INTO THE TANK, BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND I HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. HEAD OF GM DEALER SERVICE SAID NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR AND THEY COULD NOT REPLICATE PROBLEM, AND THAT THE THING WITH THIS CAR IS THAT YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT ON AN INCLINE WITH LESS OF A QUARTER TANK OF GAS OR IT MIGHT STALL. SALES REP AT DEALER SHARED SIMILAR STORY OF 2014 ACADIA STALLING ON HIM BUT AS HE TOLD US, HE WAS FORTUNATE HE WAS ONLY GOING 25 MPH. *TR
