  COMING HOME ON SEPTEMBER 25TH 2020 AT 1AM ON NJ TURNPIKE CAR STARTED TO TAP VERY LOUDLY AND LOST POWER AT 65 MPH. CAR HAS 83,659 MILES. CAR WAS TOWED TO DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 29TH ,2020 DEALER NOTIFIED US ON OCTOBER 1ST THAT THE ENGINE FAILED AND IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY RECALL. BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 21,530 AND WAS TOLD WE HAD THE FULL FACTORY WARRANTY. CAR HAS FULL SERVICE RECORDS, VERY WELL MAINTAINED AND STILL LOOKS NEW. KIA CONSUMER AFFAIRS HAS ESCALATED THIS CLAIM TWICE AND STILL REFUSES TO FIX. THEY KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM AND STILL WILL NOT HONOR THE REPAIR. WE ALSO OWN AN 2013 OPTIMA THAT HAD SAME PROBLEM AT 90,000 AND THEY FIXED IT RIGHT AWAY. CAR IS STILL SITTING AT DEALER FOR 83 DAYS NOW AND THEY ARE STARTING TO GET AGGRAVATED

  I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND IT BEGAN TO MAKE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE, THE ENGINE INCREASINGLY BECAME LOUDER AND I LOST THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. THERE WAS A LOT OF TRAFFIC AROUND ME AND MY 9 YEAR OLD SON WAS IN THE CAR. WE WERE SCARED. I BARELY GOT THE VEHICLE TO THE BREAKDOWN LANE WHERE OTHER CARS AND TRACTOR TRAILERS WERE PASSING US ONLY FEET AWAY FROM US. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL AND THE ENGINE WAS IDLING ROUGHLY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED OFF OF THE HIGHWAY. FROM THE RESEARCH THAT I HAVE DONE OVER THE WEEKEND, IT SEEMS AS THOUGH MANY KIA FORTE EX OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME NIGHTMARE THAT I HAVE GONE THROUGH. THE ISSUES RECALL DOES NOT APPEAR TO INCLUDE THE EX MODEL WITH THE 2.0L ENGINE EVEN THOUGH SYMPTOMS ARE IDENTICAL IN EVERY INSTANCE. MY CAR HAS BEEN SERVICED REGULARLY SINCE IT WAS NEW AND ALWAYS MAINTAINED ACCORDING TO MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDATIONS. ANY VEHICLE THAT LOSES THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE IN TRAFFIC SHOULD BE DEEMED UNSAFE AND THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD MAKE GOOD ON THEIR PRODUCT. MANY OWNERS ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AND BEING TOLD AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT COST WOULD BE THE OWNERS RESPONSIBILITY. HOWEVER, CERTAIN MODELS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE ARE COVERED UNDER THE GOVERNMENT MANDATED SAFETY RECALL.

  WHEN CAR IS REALLY COLD, THE BRAKES WHEN APPLIED GET STUCK DOWN. I HAVE TO PHYSICALLY DISENGAGE THE BRAKES..   TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 KIA FORTE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE MOTOR FAILED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DELAND KIA (2322 S WOODLAND BLVD, DELAND, FL 32720, (386) 734-7800) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANK SHAFT FAILED AND DESTROYED THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THEY WOULD NOT REPAIR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE WAS NO OPEN RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.

  Driving one day and check engine light came on. Car began to stutter and a billow of white smoke came from rear. Vehicle was disabled. Towed to Kia dealership. Dealership states they are doing a cylinder test. The car has been at the dealership since 08/14/2023. I have reached out to the dealer 5 times and have not gotten a response. Each time I have called I have been told that a service advisor will call me back. They won’t even tell me what’s wrong or causing the car to shut off and overheat. Car starts normally and then within ten minutes white smoke appears from the exhaust. Also hot liquid steams off engine. Last time I contacted the dealer was on 11/30/23. They said a service advisor would call me back. It is currently 12/12/23 and my issue is still not resolved. Car is still at dealership and has not moved. I am the second owner of the vehicle and have a extended warranty through a third party.

  In November 2022 the brake pedal kept sticking to the floor or halfway down causing sudden jerk of the car. Took it to Paramount Kia in Hickory North Carolina. This was a recall. THey repaired the problem. In October, 2023, same thing is happening again. Went to Kia dealership in December. They even kept it over night because this happens in colder weather. They drove it in the morning. THe temperature did not drop enough. THey called me and said there was nothing wrong and to come get the car. I had called them before this and told them the same thing was happening again like it did in 2022. They were familiar with the car. They basically refused to help me. I let a relative drive the car when weather was cold and they told me when they put on the brake, they almost went through the windshield. I need this to be fixed again. Dealership had told me they were not going to replace the same part a second time.

  THE ENGINE MAKES A LOUD RATTLING SOUND AND VIBRATION DURING INITIAL START AND INITIAL ACCELERATION, THE SAID NOISE IS MUCH LOUDER DURING COLD ENGINE START UPS.   THERE WAS A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD OF MY CAR AND I COULD SMELL SMOKE. WHEN I LIFTED THE HOOD, I COULD SEE SMOKE ARISING FROM UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. UNSURE WHY MY CAR HAD BEGUN SMOKING, I CALLED FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME GET MY CAR BECAUSE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG AND IF IT WOULD CATCH FIRE. I HAD THE TOW COMPANY TAKE MY CAR TO A MECHANIC FOR HIM TO IDENTIFY WHY MY CAR WAS SMOKING. WHEN THE MECHANIC LOOKED AT MY CAR, IT WAS NO LONGER SMOKING. WHEN I GOT INTO MY CAR TO BEGIN DRIVING I CONTINUED TO HEAR THE KNOCKING NOISE UNDERNEATH MY HOOD. I WAS NOT ABLE TO GO THE FULL SPEED LIMIT AS THE NOISE GREW LOUDER, AND HAD TO DRIVE UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. AS I BEGAN DRIVING, MY OIL LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I STOPPED AT THE RED LIGHT, MY ENGINE AND BATTERY LIGHTS CAME ON. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND I TRIED TO PROCEED, AND MY CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. IT WAS COMPLETING STOPPED AND NON-OPERATIONAL. THIS SCARED ME BECAUSE IT WAS DARK, I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC ON ONE OF THE BUSIEST STREETS IN MY AREA, AND I HAD MY YOUNG SON IN THE CAR WITH ME. MY FATHER AND A POLICE OFFICER ARRIVED TO ASSIST ME WITH MOVING MY CAR OUT OF TRAFFIC. I HAD TO HAVE A TOW SERVICE COME GET MY CAR AND TAKE IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC. AFTER EXPLAINING TO THE MECHANIC WHAT HAPPENED AND HIM REVIEWING THE CAR TO DETERMINE WHY IT HAD ABRUTLY SHUT OFF, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ENGINE HAD LOCKED UP. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO MY HOME BECAUSE IT WAS NO LONGER OPERATIONAL.

  I SAW THAT KIA RECALLED THE SAME YEAR AND MODEL OF THIS CAR FOR FAULTY ENGINES WHICH MAY CATCH FIRE DUE TO ENGINE MALFUNCTION, ROD BEARING FAILURE AND FUEL LEAK BUT, ONLY FOR THE 2.4L ENGINE. WHEN TECHNICALLY SPEAKING THE 2.0L ENGINE WHICH IS NOT RECALLED IS NEARLY IDENTICAL BOTH INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY BESIDES CUBIC INCHES. IN FACT WHEN ORDERING PARTS FOR THE 2.0L ENGINE ON KIA'S SITES AND OEM PARTS DISTRIBUTORS, THE PART NUMBERS ARE THE SAME FOR THE INTAKE MANIFOLD, FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEMS, INTERNAL BEARINGS, THE ONLY VARIANCE IN MANUFACTURING AND DESIGN ARE THE CRANKSHAFTS, CAMSHAFTS AND OIL PUMPS DUE TO THE DIFFERENCE IN DISPLACEMENT. FURTHERMORE MY CAR RECENTLY BEGAN LEAKING FUEL FROM THE FUEL DELIVERY TUBE GOING FROM THE FUEL PUMP TO THE RAIL WHICH IS THE SAME PART NUMBER AS THAT ON THE 2.4 AND SAME DESIGN AND ROUTING. DUE TO THE CLOSE PROXIMITY OF THE EXHAUST THE FUEL COULD HAVE IGNITED IF NOT CAUGHT JUST THE SAME AS THE COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2.4L WHICH PROMPTED THE RECALL. HOWEVER THE 2.0L OWNERS ARE NOT PROTECTED AND ARE AT THE SAME RISK.

  No accident to report. This will will be my second time replacing suspension springs and brake light assembly. I have reason to believe that the 2013 Kia Forte EX model has a recall on these item because my car isn't the only vehicle in for these exact issues. I wish to have these investigated because this is becoming most costly than expected.

  REAR BRAKE LIGHT BULBS KEEP BURNING OUT. FOUND A RECALL FOR THE SWITCH. I BROUGHT IT IN TO LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THEY SAY IT'S THE SWITCH. CALLED KIA CUSTOMER REP AND THEY SAID THERE IS A RECALL BUT IT DOES NOT APPLY TO MY KIA FORTE. NOT GOOD! I HAVE A KIA AND A HYUNDAI. HAVING ISSUES WITH THE HYUNDAI AS WELL. THESE ARE BOTH 2013 MODELS AND I EXPECTED MORE. I WILL NOT BE BUYING THESE CARS AGAIN SINCE THEY HAVE ONGOING ISSUES AND THE COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT FOR ITEMS THAT SHOULD NOT WEAR OUT IN 4 YEARS. VERY POOR QUALITY.

The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, he observed smoke coming from the passenger’s side of the engine compartment, prompting him to pull to the shoulder of the roadway. After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The check engine and ABS warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the fuel pump. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the thermostat. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred.   I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ABOUT 8 YEARS NOW AND I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE REAR TAIL LIGHT/ BRAKE LIGHT BULBS CONTINUOUSLY BLOWING OUT. I HAVE TO REPLACE THEM ALMOST EVERY 1-2 MONTHS. WHEN REPLACING THEM, THEY ARE VERY HOT. NOT SURE IF THIS IS A WIRING ISSUE AMONG MANY OTHER FORTES AS I HAD READ UPON NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

  Hi, I brought my car to a local kia dealer for the open recalls stated above and the dealership Crain Kia has refused to fix it for a unknown reason. The dealer inspected it and told me they needed to stop because of the engine being a used one? it was not clear on exactly why but that is all they told me. I know that the recall is for engine fire and safety so its not clear as to why they would refuse to fix it

  The engine pistons seized while going slow turning a corner and brought my car to a sudden stop. There were no engine lights on before it seized and after it happened there are still no engine lights on yet it no longer can function. Essentially after the starter turns over, the engine just makes a loud clunking noise. Oil levels are full, coolant full, and with the radio off there weren't any noises coming from the car until it stopped dead in the road. My safety was at risk when it happened because at midnight after coming back from a long movie, on a dark winding road, the car seized and I couldn't get it all the way over. I was so scared a car would come around the corner and hit my car, my wife and myself while we waited. My insurance company towed the car to a repair shop and they gave me a $6500 repair bill. I called a Kia dealership, specifically the repair shop talking though the issue and next steps and they said not to bring it into the dealership because they aren't able to fix it and instead to send it to a junk yard. This issue has no warning lights, no red engine lights, no odd sounds coming from the engine, no oil leaks present prior to the engine seizing and essentially left me and my wife stranded in a dangerous situation.

  October 2021 vehicle shut off and loss power while stopped at red light, was able to restart and proceed. Vehicle then shut off again and would not restart Engine light illuminated(approx 75,000). Was towed to dealer and was diagnosed as needing and oil control valve replacement. Valve was replaced. Several days following repair engine light would sporadically illuminate would be on for several days then would go off for weeks at a time. Vehicle is again now experiencing same issues with shutting off while stopped, and also having issues accelerating at times.(101,000 miles) Oil is also changed regularly. I am the first owner of the vehicle and now that the 10 years are up and 100,000 miles have now passed, i am worried i will be left without my only transportation and means to provide for family

  I KEEP HAVING ISSUES WITH MY BREAK LIGHT HAVING TO BE REPLACED ALL THE TIME. NOW IT'S WHERE THEY DO NOT WORK AT ALL NOR DOES THE CAR GO INTO GEAR! I HAVE TO USE SOMETHING TO PUSH THE SHIFT LOCK DOWN SO THAT I CAN SHIFT GEARS. THIS SEEMS TO BE AN UNIVERSAL ISSUE AROUND THE BOARD ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT FORUMS. NOW THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSE SOME TYPE OF ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITHIN MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO KIA AND AT SOME POINT I'M SURE THIS IS ISN'T THE FIRST THEY HAVE HEARD OF THIS BECAUSE THEY KEEP SAYING WELL YOUR VEHICLE DOESN'T HAVE ANY RECALLS.   The contact owns a 2013 Kia Forte. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V750000 (Engine). The contact stated that while driving at 50 - 55 mph, noises were heard and smoke came from the front and rear of the vehicle. The contact pulled over and had the vehicle towed to the dealer. The dealer replaced the engine and fuel pump. However, while the dealer was test driving the vehicle, abnormal noises were heard. The dealer informed the contact that they would contact the manufacturer to replace the engine. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 66,917.

  AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD HEADED TO THE STORE THE VEHICLE JUST DIED RIGHT THERE WHERE I WAS AT SO I HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE AND MOVE GEAR SHIFTER TO PARK, TURN IT OFF, TURN IT BACK ON AND THEN IT WAS FINE THE REST OF THE WAY. I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR FROM AUTO SMART IN LONGVIEW TX ON 10/22/2019 AND WHEN I GOT HOME I STARTED LOOKING UP THE VIN NUMBER TO SEE IF I COULD FIND ANY DETAILS LIKE A CAR FAX REPORT AND I CAME ACROSS THIS SITE AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE ACTUALLY RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE THAT HAVE NOT BEEN FIXED YET. THE MOTOR ALREADY SOUNDS ROUGH AND IT HAS 120K MILES AND THE NONE OF THE ADAPTERS WORK (LIKE TO PLUG UR PHONE FOR CHARGING)!OR THE RADIO. THAT COMPANY SAID THEY HAD ANOTHER ONE ORDER. ALSO THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW WHEN U ROLL IT UP IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY ROLL RIGHT BACK DOWN SO U HAVE TO MAKE SURE U HOLD IT UP ALL THE WAY TO THE END.

  THE EXTERIOR LIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE NEED REPLACING EVERY FEW WEEKS ALONG WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL NOT DISENGAGING WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED AND GEAR SHIFT DOES NOT ENGAGE. THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL LIGHT WHEN THE INTERIOR LIGHT CONTROL IS IN THE OFF POSITION BUT WHEN THE CAR IS ON AND LIGHTS HAVE BEEN TURNED ON, THE BRAKE LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT. WHEN IT FIRST BEGAN HAPPENING THE CAR WAS TAKEN TO EARNHARDT KIA IN PHOENIX AND THEY SAID THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE LIGHTING SYSTEM OR ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. IN THE COURSE OF THREE YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN 12-15 LIGHTBULBS REPLACED INCLUDING A HEADLAMP.

  On [XXX] , my 2013 Kia Forte SX Koup caught fire while I was driving on the tollway. Kia failed to notify me that I was sold a Lemon Car, leading to this life-threatening incident. The steering wheel and gas pedal became unresponsive, and my brakes stiffened, making it extremely difficult to stop. I feared for my life and safety as I struggled to pull over. After parking, I smelled fumes and saw fire under the hood. I called 911, and emergency services arrived to extinguish the fire. As a result, I now have respiratory issues from inhaling fumes, migraines from hitting my head, and a pulled muscle from forcing the locked steering. I have been unable to seek medical care due to the financial burden of renting a car, which has cost me $1,083.74 so far, using funds intended for rent. I contacted Kia on October 9th, 2024, but they delayed their response until October 15th. Since then, they have continuously prolonged the process, now saying it will take over a month and a half. Kia also failed to notify me of a recall related to this issue, which I later discovered on my own. I am requesting immediate action from Kia, including reimbursement for my rental, vehicle replacement, and compensation for medical expenses.   I HAVE OWNED MY VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 6 YEARS. SINCE 2017, I HAVE STARTED HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE DRIVER'S BRAKE LIGHT BURNING OUT. AT THE FIRST SIGN OF TROUBLE AND MULTIPLE REPLACEMENTS WITHIN A 4 MONTH PERIOD, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE ENTIRE TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THE REPLACEMENT SERVICE WAS COMPLETED AND THE ISSUE WAS FINE FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR. IN 2018, I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH THE BRAKE LIGHT AGAIN FOR THE LEFT AND RIGHT. IT STARTED WITH NEEDING TO REPLACE THE LIGHTS EVERY QUARTER. NOW, I REPLACE THE BRAKE LIGHTS AT LEAST EVERY 1-4 WEEKS. THE LIGHT EITHER HAS BECOME SO HOT AND BLOWN OUT, OR WHEN I HIT A SLIGHT BUMP IN THE ROAD -- THE LIGHT DISLODGES. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY HAVE SURMISED THAT THE ISSUE IS NOT RELATED TO ELECTRICAL WIRING, BUT THEY BELIEVE THE SOCKET IS NOT HOLDING THE BULB SNUGLY TO RETAIN LIGHTING. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE INABILITY FOR OTHER DRIVERS TO KNOW THAT I AM BRAKING. THERE WAS ONE INSTANCE THAT BOTH BRAKE LIGHTS WENT OUT AT NIGHT. AS A RESULT, I CARRY A SPARE PACKET OF TAILLIGHT BULBS IN MY VEHICLE AT ALL TIMES. I INTEND TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP ON 10/15/2020 TO REQUEST ANOTHER REPAIR TO THE LIGHT AND TO PURCHASE A NEW TAILLIGHT ASSEMBLY. I HAVE TAKEN CARE OF THE VEHICLE ENSURING SERVICE IS COMPLETED IN A TIMELY FASHION. THIS HAS BEEN THE ONLY NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE WITH THE VEHICLE, BUT IT IS A CRUCIAL ISSUE AS IT PUTS MY LIFE AND OTHERS' LIVES IN DANGER. THIS IS NOT A NEW ISSUE WITH THE 2013-2014 KIA FORTE.   The contact owns a 2013 Kia Forte EX. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving 55 MPH, she noticed smoke emerging from the vehicle. The driver pulled over and called roadside assistance. All the warning lights illuminated. Upon arrival, roadside assistance informed the driver the engine had caught fire and had seized. It was unknown how the fire was extinguished. The contact stated that the failure was due to NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V652000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic). The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who informed him the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was contacted, who started a claim. The manufacturer requested a photo of the engine but the contact stated that he did not have any photos. The failure mileage was approximately 118,150.

  I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2012 BRAND NEW WITH ABOUT 2 MILES ON IT. EVERYTHING WAS GOING SMOOTH UNTIL I WOULD GET DOWN TO A AVERAGE SPEED AROUND 10 MILES AN HOUR. I WAS GETTING ON A RAMP, AND WHEN I WAS GETTING OVER I HAD TO GUN IT BECAUSE A CAR WAS COMING AND A HUGE JOLT HIT SO HARD IT FELT LIKE A CAR JUST REAR ENDED ME. I WAS SO SCARED THINKING A CAR HIT ME WHERE I LET OFF THE GAS AND THE CAR THAT WAS COMING SWERVED TO MISS ME. SO I TAKE IT TO KIA AND THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION OR SHIFTING GEARS. SO I WENT ON WITH MY LIFE. SO ALL OF A SUDDEN IT DOES IT AGAIN. THIS TIME IT JOLTED SO HARD WHERE THE SEAT BELT LOCKED UP AND I ALMOST HIT THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY WALL. SO AFTER THAT I REPEATEDLY TOLD KIA I'M GOING TO GET HURT IF THIS DONT GET FIXED AND THEY SAY THE SAME THING THE COMPUTER SYSTEM IS SHOWING NOTHING IS WRONG. SO I TOOK IT TO A TRANSMISSION PLACE AND THEY SAID IT COULD NEED A SOFTWARE UPDATE BECAUSE THE GEARS ARE NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY. I'VE TALKED TO KIA OVER AND OVER AND NOTING HAS HAPPENED. I STILL HAVE MY WARRANTY 100,000 MILES OR 10 YEARS. THE CAR ONLY HAS 75K MILES ON IT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT THIS SITUATION. NOW ITS SO BAD I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE IT.   WHILE DRIVING MY CAR FROM A FOOTBALL GAME, IT COMPLETELY STOPPED RUNNING. I HAD THE CAR TOWED HOME THE NEXT DAY. ONCE HOME THE CAR STARTED BACK UP AS IF NOTHING HAPPENED. ABOUT A WEEK LATER THE ENGINE STARTED HAVING A TERRIBLE KNOCKING NOISE. A MECHANIC REPLACED ROD & BEARING, BUT THE CAR STILL HAS ISSUES WITH STALLING AND KNOCKING NOISE. IT HAS BEEN PARKED FOR ALMOST 2 YEARS WHILE I CONTINUE TO MAKE CAR PAYMENTS. MY OIL AND OTHER FLUIDS WERE ALWAYS CHANGED REGULARLY. I WAS OUTSIDE MY WARRENTY AND AM JUST STUCK WITH THIS CAR WITH A BAD ENGINE. I WOULD REPLACE THE ENGINE, BUT AM AFRAID THAT IT IS A DEFECT IN MANUFACTURING.

  I HAVE 2013 KIA FORTE WITH 66,000 MILES AND IT ALREADY HAS KNOCKING IN THE ENGINE. I WAS TOLD BY A KIA DEALERSHIP THAT THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACE AND IT WOULD COST ME 5,682$. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ANY MORE BECAUSE IT COULD SEIZE UP ON ME WHILE DRIVING. THIS CAR SHOULD NOT HAVE AN ENGINE THAT IS PREMATURELY FAILING AT 66,000 MILES. MY TOYOTA TUNDRA HAS OVER 300,000 MILES AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH ENGINE. KIA NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL ON THE FORTE ENGINES BECAUSE I'VE SEEN OTHER COMPLAINTS ONLINE ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE OF A BAD ENGINE AT LOW MILES.

  Was driving at approximately 60 MPH and heard an abnormal knocking noise sound coming from the engine compartment. The knocking noise occurred whenever the accelerator was pressed. No warning light was illuminated. Took car to mechanic where it was diagnosed and determined that the engine rod bearings needed to be replaced. Car had 205,000 miles at the time of engine failure and has been well maintained with records.
