I discovered there was a recall so I took it in to the Ford dealership, which was JC Lewis Ford in Savannah, Georgia, but the technician told me that there were too many miles and after 150,000 miles, the recall was null and void

- 12/31/2015· STEERING
I PURCHASE THIS CAR USED WITH 15000 KM ON, ISSUE OCCURRED AT 73000KM. FORD FUSION 2012 SEL AWD I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND THE STEERING LOCKED UP, IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO STEER. I DROVE IT DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP. BENTON FRY FORD BELLEVILLE, ON THEY INSPECTED IT AND INDICATED THAT THE CONTROLS ARMS NEEDED TO REPLACED. I TOLD THEM TO GO HEAD THE APPROX.. COST WAS $1000.00. HOWEVER IT IS STILL POSSIBLE THAT I WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING RACK WHICH WOULD COST $2200.00. THE RESOLUTION WAS THAT THEY WOULD REPLACE THE CONTROLS ARMS AND NOT DO THE ALIGNMENT, TO SEE IF THE POWER STEERING WOULD GO AGAIN WITHIN A WEEK. I DROVE IT FOR A WEEK AND FOUND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. SO I DROP IT OFF FOR THE ALIGNMENT TO BE COMPLETED. AT THE DEALER SHIP THE MECHANIC TEST DROVE IT AND FOUND THAT THE POWER STEERING RACK NEED TO REPLACE. I WAS ADVISED THAT MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AS OF JUNE 13, 2015. THE SERVICE ADVISOR OFFER TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER TO SEE IF THERE WAS ANYTHING THEY COULD DO ON THEIR END. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO HELP IT WAS SO THEY DIRECTED TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE WHO THEN ESCALATED THE ISSUE TO FORD REGIONAL MANAGEMENT, WHO IN TURN OFFERED TO OVER 55% OF THE $2200.00 AS A FINAL OFFER. WHO TREATED ME LIKE I SHOULD BE SOOOO GRATE FOR THIS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MAY 27, 2015 BY FORD IN 2011 TO 2013 FUSION. SINCE FORD STATED THIS CAR IS NOT PART OF THEIR RECALL, THEY DEFLECT THEIR RESPONSIBILITY OF SELLING ME A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT. THE ISSUE OCCURRED JUST LIKE THE RECALL, BUT BECAUSE FORD WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THIS ISSUE, I AM STUCK PAYING FOR THEIR DEFECTIVE PRODUCT, AS THEY CONCEAL THE FACT THIS IS A UNKNOWN ISSUE AND THEY SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS DEFECT. I HOPE THIS HELPS OTHER PEOPLE BECAUSE THERE IS A LOT OF FUSION ON THE ROAD AND THE VERY FACT THAT THEY STEERING CAN GO AT ANY GIVEN TIME IS A VERY SCARY THOUGHT

ON SEPTEMBER 26, 2014, I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT AS WE WERE DRIVING ON A CITY STREET TO WHERE MY PASSENGER SEAT BELT DID NOT WORK UPON FRONTAL HEAD ON IMPACT OR MY AIRBAGS DIDNT GO OFF CAUSING ME TO COLLIDE INTO THE DASH BOARD. THIS CAUSED LIGAMENT TEARING IN MY RIGHT HAND/SHOULDER AS THAT WAS THE INITIAL IMPACT. NOW I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO SUFFER FROM LIMITATIONS ON THE USE OF MY RIGHT HAND/SHOULDER COMPLICATIONS. FOR THE BRAKE ISSUE BEGINNING DECEMBER 1, 2019. IT HAS COME UP THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE IS STICKING AND TEARING THROUGH MY BRAKES AS I AM DRIVING ON THE STREET OR EVEN HIGHWAY CAUSING IT TO SMOKE AROUND MY BACK TIRES. I NEARLY LOST MY LIFE ONCE, AND DO NOT WANT IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN, BUT WHEN CHECKING BRAKE RECALLS IT'S ONLY UP TO A 2010 MODEL AND I HAVE A 2012 MODEL. THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED THE PADDING ON MY BREAKS TO COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR LEAVING ME UNABLE TO COME TO A STOP.

UNKNOWN. I have no power steering. I have contacted Ford and they were supposed to fix my car for free which they did not because it was up for recall.
- 12/29/2023· STEERING
At about 98500 miles, power steering stopped working. 2 alternating dash warning lights kept flashing; Service Advance Trac, Power Steering Assist Fault. This sounded like it related to a known recall for electronic steering problem for my year and model but, Ford said my Vin was not included. I brought it to the dealer, with white knuckles, as it was very hard to turn the wheel and if I had to make a quick steering move to avoid an accident, I don't think I would've been able to. The dealer (Balise Ford, Hyannis MA) performed an expensive repair as follows: They said steering angle sensor signal invalid and PSCM internal failure. They replaced steering rack, tie rods and jam nuts. They performed PMI and configured PCSM. Aligned vehicle. I still think my service should have been performed with compensation from Ford but, they did not.

THE BLOWER MOTOR HAS FAILED 3 TIMES ON MY 2012 FUSION. THE FIRST WAS WHILE UNDER WARRANTY IN 2013, THE SECOND WAS JUST OFF WARRANTY IN 2015, AND THE LAST TIME WAS MAY 27, 2016. THE BLOWER MOTOR FAILED ON THE DAY OF MY SON'S HS SENIOR PROM. WHILE SCHULTZ FORD PROVIDED PRIORITY SERVICE TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE IN 6 HOURS, IT COST ME OVER $700. THIS IS A CHRONIC PROBLEM THAT FORD SHOULD REPAIR AS A RECALL. I'M CROSSING MY FINGERS WHEN I NEED THE AC IN THE LAST SPRING OF 2017.
- 12/28/2016· STEERING
APRIL, 2016: I WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVE WAY WITH THE MOTOR OFF. WHEN I STARTED THE CAR I COULD BARELY TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY DRIVE IT TO SCHULTZ FORD IN NANUET, NEW YORK. THE PROBLEM WAS THAT THE ELECTRONIC GEARBOX HAD FAILED. THE REPAIR COST $2000. THE SCHULTZ FORD SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT CERTAIN MODELS OF 2012 FUSIONS WERE RECALLED FOR THE PROBLEM AND THEY WERE REPAIRED FOR FREE. UNFORTUNATELY, MY FUSION WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE MODELS. I APPEALED TO THE REGIONAL SERVICE MANAGER. SHE REPEATED THE SAME INFORMATION AS SCHULTZ FORD. SHE ADVISED ME TO REPORT THE PROBLEM TO THE NHTSA IN HOPE THAT IF ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAINED FORD WOULD ISSUE A RECALL AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THIS REPAIR AT THAT TIME. I AM CONFUSED AS TO WHY A PROBLEM THAT AROSE WITHOUT WARNING, AND WAS THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL NOTICE ON A SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT MODEL, WAS NOT TREATED AS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND REPAIRED FOR FREE BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN TORRANCE CA AT 65 MPH WHEN THE CAR BEGAN TO BUCK AND JERK AND SLOWED TO ABOUT 30 MPH. IT WOULD NOT TAKE ANY MORE POWER OR ACCELERATION. I WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE AND WAS ABLE TO EXIT AND PARK AND I THEN NOTED THE TEMP GAUGE SHOWED HOT ALTHOUGH THE ENGINE DID NOT APPEAR HOT. HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAULTY TEMP SENSOR THAT SHOWED THE ENGINE WAS OVERHEATING AND CAUSIG THE ENGINE TO GO INTO THE PARTIAL SHUT-DOWN MODE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OFTEN ENOUGH THAT FORD HAS A SERVICE BULLETIN OUT ON THE PROBLEM, BUT NO RECALL. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A DISASTER IF I HAD STILL BEEN IN THE LEFT OR DIAMOND LANE SO THERE SHOULD BE A MANUFACTURER RECALL TO HAVE THESE PARTS CHECKED OUT. APPARENTLY SOME ARE CORRODED. *TR

- 12/26/2023· AIR BAGS
I currently have the Airbag indicator light on my car lit up. I was recently recalled, and the work done in February of 2023. I do not have confidence in the dealership that completed the work initially due to circumstances that occured with my same car a few months later. The circumstances are that later in the year, my car was in the same shop for 48 days, and they could not diagnose, or fix the problem with the car. (not related to airbags, but my trust is broken) I then brought the car to a different dealership, and they were able to diagnose, and fix within 48 hours, not days. My concern is that the car was not properly put back together, and that I still have an Airbag issues, which is a safety concern for me, and potentially a passenger. My request is that, a recall is reissued on my car for Airbags, so that I do not need to go to the same dealership to complete the work, that should have been done correctly the first time.

The dash was lit up like a Christmas Tree, and when the Brake pedal was depressed, it touched the floor. The car did slow down briefly, then there was no friction what so ever from the brakes. My son, and wife could have ended up in a horrible accident, as the only way to stop the car was by allowing the car to roll to a complete stop. This is actually a know issue for Ford Fusions from 2006-2010. I brought this car to a dealership, and they diagnosed it as the ABS ABS Hydraulic Control Unit. They have already completed the repairs. One of the comments that was made is that if it had been a 2006-2010, it would have been replaced under recall. After the Brakes went out the Service Advance Trac light, and Check Brake system shown on my Dash Light. This is a very dangerous issues especially since I live in a heavily populated college town. My family, and/or another innocent bystander could have been extremely injured or even killed. I feel like Ford knows about this problem, and should be responsible to replace it.

My car lost my electric power steering on November 15, 2025. Ford has a Safety Satisfaction Program15V340000 for this vehicle. The Dealership refuses to honor the program since it has over 150,000 miles on it. Reading through the paper work for the program 15v340000 I never noticed a mileage exclusion. Any help on this issue would greatly be appreciated.

The contact stated while driving approximately 55 MPH, the messages "Service Power Steering Assist Fault" and "Advancetrac" were displayed, and the steering wheel suddenly became very difficult to turn in either direction. The electric power steering suddenly stopped working while my child was driving causing her to almost crash. I had to drive the car home and it is almost impossible for me to turn the wheel at 200lbs - there is no chance that she could steer the car like this and it just suddenly stopped working while driving with no warning. It is scheduled to go to the dealership to be looked at but I am told even though 2012 Ford Fusions are being recalled for this exact issue - hers is not part of the recall? No warning prior to it being disabled - once disabled yes, it tells you it’s not working. I have driven plenty of cars with no power steering and they are drivable - this requires your full body weight to force the car to turn and at 120lbs - you just don’t weigh enough to turn the car or stop it safely. I am thankful she was not on the Highway because that could have ended VERY badly.

No power steering Displays Service Advance Trac ad Power Steering Assist. Vehicle has 98,000 miles Dealer says Ford's 15N01 recall extended to 10 years/150.000 miles on this issue but will not cover because car was manufactured in 2011 which exceeds 10 years. It's a 2012 model so in my opinion ten years should still be valid.
